Big Fish Eatery is a great spot if you’re looking for generous portions and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was satisfying and well-prepared, with serving sizes that definitely leave you feeling full. What stood out most was the staff — incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. A solid place to stop for a good meal with great service.

What an amazingly awesome hidden gem!! Food and drinks were delicious! Portion sizes were more than ample for one, great to share. And that Yuzu berry mojito- Some otherworldly delish!!! Massive shout out to you, Leila, you and your team took superb care of our little noisy family, THANK YOU for making our celebration that much more special!! 😉

Every dish we ordered was bursting with amazing flavor. Each dish its own exquisite taste ! The waitress was very informative, attentive, and helpful! It is hands down one of the best dining experiences we have had, while travelling new Zealand. Thank you 😊

🌟 Amazing Meal and Wonderful Service at Big Fish Penrose! 🦀 We absolutely loved dining at Big Fish Penrose last Friday! It was very busy, so we were incredibly lucky we reserved our table in advance. As regular clients, there is always something new to discover, and this time we found a new favorite: the soft-shell crabs with their signature jalapeño sauce. It was so good we were thrilled to find out we could purchase the sauce in a jar to take home! We were dining with our toddler, who was having a wiggly day and kept dragging me around. I was so pleased when Ronja noticed and went the extra mile by offering our daughter stickers to keep her happily occupied. That small gesture made a huge difference to our entire dining experience! Despite being extremely busy, every staff member was smiling and able to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely would highly recommend Big Fish Penrose! Great food and fantastic service every time.

Revisited the restaurant after 6 years. Happy to see the place is as clean and classy in 2018. The chicken karaage is a star with unique crispy flakes as breading and tasty dip. Fried rice was delicious but could have more Chinese sausage as it is the flavour option on the menu. Excellent service and friendly staff. Highly recommended! We’lldefinitely come back .

Popular eatery with a lot of atmosphere and great food! Almost anything here is good to try, but the standouts for me were the soft-shelled crab, the sashimi platter and the beef teppenyaki. If there was a single fault it was that our dark chocolate cookie dough must've been the last in the batch and it had just one sorry chocolate chip! :) Definitely a place we'll come back to!

We had an amazing meal here! Every dish we tried was a taste sensation. The coconut beef ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the massaman lamb curry was nothing short of divine— packed with flavor. To top it all off, the cookie dough dessert was the ideal sweet finale to an amazing dinner. There was also a live singer entertaining everyone with a mix of songs that hit many genre. We can’t wait to come back!
