Manila’s Cocktail Scene Is Taking Hold n Unexpected Places

"Big Fuzz is Quismundo’s cozy but sophisticated bar serving drinks heavily inspired by New York City’s cocktail renaissance. It is part of a new wave of bars that emerged in Manila after the pandemic, helping transform its nascent cocktail scene."

Perfect place to have unique drinks, relax, and converse with people you are with. Had to ask directions to find the red door but I guess that’s part of the charm of this hidden place. The staff were very nice and they took time explaining each of their signature drinks to us as we were new to the place. We ended up ordering at least 3 drinks each because the experience was so nice. Totally worth the money. I would go back again and recommend it to friends :) Favorites: Ruby Tuesday (limited edition for their anniversary) Their signature version of their amaretto sour

This bar is easily one of the best speakeasies I've ever gone to in the whole Metro Manila! The drinks were delicious, ambience top notch, and service excellent. While the cocktails are a bit pricier, you truly get bang for your buck— they use the finest ingredients which make the drinks so dangerous! They were SO DELICIOUS! You know they don't skimp on ingredients and spirits. My favorite would be the Mojo's Jojo! So delicate and flavorful that you could down the entire drink in one go because it's just so excellently made. Big Fuzz is now my go to bar in the Metro! A big shout out to Mark who made sure our peanuts were never empty and that our energy was always high (thanks to shots!)

Sticky Fingers: 4/5 Golden Sunset(?): 5/5 What a wonderful cocktail place hidden inside a red door in that shady building near Makati Cinema Square. But gash the drinks were wonderful! The service team should win some awards too. They made sure to ask your name and remembered it all through out the visit, even after they say bye they speak your name! A well deserved Tatler award. Will Come Back?: Yes For sure

Very unassuming from the outside—you’ll need to look for the red door—but once you step in, it’s like entering a secret vintage lounge. The space overlooks Amorsolo street, a usually busy one, yet feels tucked away and insulated from all the noise. Drinks are well-crafted and priced just right at around ₱400–600 per glass. That said, one drink is never enough—each one makes you curious to try the next. It’s the kind of bar where the drinks are genuinely good, but you can still enjoy an actual conversation. A rare balance, and one worth coming back for.

We stumbled upon this bar by accident after finding out the one we originally planned to visit was closed. A quick Google Maps search led us to Big Fuzz, and fortunately, it did not disappoint. True to its name, it's literally a hidden bar — we had a tough time locating it. Tip: It's on the second floor, right side, behind a red door. The drinks were immaculate. I’m not usually a fan of gin, but I surprisingly enjoyed the gin-based cocktails, especially the ones with pandan flavor. The rum and chai combo was also a standout for me. The vibe of the place is super chill — jazz-inspired, intimate, and perfect for a quiet night out or date night. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient, answering all our questions about the drinks. They even took the time to explain each cocktail as they served them. Special shoutout to CJ for the great drink recommendations and warm service! As a nice bonus, they even gave us a free shot. We'll definitely be coming back.

Look for the red door at the second floor on the right side if coming from the elevator. Big Fuzz is a cool spot to hang out at. Ambiance was on point with its low light and great music. Staff explained each drink we ordered, and they often asked if we needed anything.

The hallway going to this place is a bit sketchy but the place is good. The ambiance is dark and it's so easy to talk to people you're with, the drinks are a bit on the pricey side though

I had a nice experience at a speakeasy cocktail bar that I think is worth mentioning. I ordered the Pussy Willow and Fitzgerald cocktails, and they were enjoyable—creative and made with high-quality ingredients and balanced flavors. The service was warm and attentive, with staff who were helpful and made me feel comfortable. The bar had a stylish atmosphere that contributed to the overall experience. It’s a good example of a low-key place that stays true to its craft, making it a decent spot to bring your date or good friends. I can see it becoming a favorite of mine, and I’m definitely planning to go back in the future. If you’re looking for good cocktails in a cozy setting, this speakeasy is worth checking out.
