This place was amazing! Grew up going to MOAB, at least once a year. Never got a chance to stay in this part of town though. The staff was amazing, the room rusticaly modern, amd everything was clean. The location was perfect. You are within walking distance of all the downtown locations, a convience store, several restaurants, and a grocery store. The rates are surprisingly affordable. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

The rooms were nice and clean. They have in-uni A/Cs that works okay. The room werent as cold but it was workable. I liked that it was a pet friendly hotel for $15 per pet per night. The swimming pool was clean and great to hang out during the hot days.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Big Horn. Desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. We had issues with our TV, and after letting the office know John the maintenance individual was at our room within 20 minutes. Very friendly and resolved things in short time. Staff answered our questions about the local area and directed us. The property is very clean and well kept. Comfortable accomodations. Our favorite restaurant for morning, noon, and night quickly became Moab Grill directly adjacent to the premises. Great food and service. Thank you to the entire Big Horn team for making our stay so great!

I wanted to love this place. Housekeeping was AMAZING! And majority of the staff was super welcoming, however Lisa clearly has something against off-roaders. Our group has been coming for car show weekend for years and have never had the issues we had this time. We trailer our street legal, fully registered jeeps to Moab and we use them to buzz around town and to hit the many trails in Moab. On Friday we were told by Lisa that we needed to load our jeeps back on our trailers when we were done off-roading for the day because there wasn’t enough parking spaces. Mind you, we parked our jeeps within the same trailer parking stall that our truck and trailers were already in so we weren’t even taking up any additional spaces (which couldn’t be said by many others who were using 3-4 parking spaces all weekend). Lisa walked around writing down all of our license plate numbers threatening us that those were the rules and sorry if it wasn’t made clear by others. We clarified this “rule” was completely false, and she obviously just wanted to be a B* to us. Aside from the higher than normal rates for the same quality rooms as years past, and this situation with Lisa, we won’t be back. Plenty of other hotels will be more than accommodating to the masses that fund this town from off-roading.

This was a great place to stay. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable, clean and little details were thought of. There were rags in the room to wipe down your bike, shoes, or car. The coffee machine had extra supplies, just in case. Plenty of towels, hand towels and wash clothes.

Google
When I see the word "lodge", I picture a place with a large lobby or social room. However, that is not in any definition I found, and Big Horn did not have such a room. Our motel room was nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. There was also a good restaurant right next door serving all 3 meals.

Loved our room, clean and homey. The restaurant is excellent, great burgers!! The staff were great! We were there for the Easter Jeep Safari very accommodating to our trailer needs and helped with a parking problem when we left. We will stay here again if we can!!

Google
Very clean, super comfy beds, friendly staff and centrally located. The rooms are cozy and warm! If you have a pup, there’s an easily accessed back area to walk them. We finally got a good nights sleep after staying a less desirable hotel rooms on our road trip.

Yelp
This location is perfect if you are going hiking at Arches National Park. A lodge differs from a hotel or resort. If you hiking an outdoors but don't like camping and require indoor plumbing and don't want to drop $250 a night for a hotel or resort book a lodge. The rooms are rustic-country decor, roomy enough, shower with good hot water, a kitchenette table, comfy beds, cool air conditioning. Close to restaurants and a clean place to stay this Big Horn Lodge is a big win! We had two rooms for one night and were able to check out late, which was a perk! The staff was friendly and helpful with the questions we had about the area.

Susan S.

Yelp
Wi-Fi is strong. Rustic with dark knotted wood walls, ceiling, and furniture in the rooms makes the room dark. Need a light on even in day time, and the lamps aren't very strong. On a busy street and traffic can be heard steadily in all rooms, as they all face the street. Teeny tiny bathroom with shower over tub and toilet. Sink outside the bathroom with long counter, but that's where the air conditioner blasts constantly, so we have to turn it off when using that area for long. Fridge doesn't work. Beds are comfortable and room is clean. With so many choices within a few blocks, I wouldn't stay here again, but it's ok.

Yelp
Zion is filled with major hotel chains but I really try to find the little guys to support local businesses so when Big Horn Lodge came up on my search for pet friendly hotels in Zion, I thought "bingo!" I'm not the fussy type especially when I'm on a road trip in the rustic south west. Moab is an old town practically in the middle of nowhere with natural beauty all around so I would never plan to stay in the room much anyway... but these rooms were rustic, well appointed and comfortable - just what we were looking for after driving through a snowstorm. My highlights: - Mini kitchenette is nice (fridge, microwave + keruig) - 2 Queen room was comfortable (desk + dining table too). - Pet fee only $10 per night - Friendly check in - Comfy beds and pillows - grocery store across the street for supplies - free parking (trailer parking too for those who need it!) - thoughtfully offered cleaning rags for dirty gear and a bike wash station by the vending machines. Improvement suggested: - There's a gap in the door frame where street noise and cold does come through... I would address this. - The walls could use some more soundproofing. We were next to a family and could hear them if our tv had wasn't on. Not sure if they could hear our tv but they did go to bed early so it wasn't an issue. - The "rustic blanket" on the beds really isn't necessary. I can't tell if it makes the rooms look more authentic or dirty. I liked all the pine and decor but I wondered just how many stories that blanket could tell if I asked. I pulled it off and used the others under instead. - TV was pretty old and picture wasn't great so there's either no good cable service in Moab so far out in the middle of nowhere or the TVs should probably be updated. We arrived late and got up and out early (as what happens on a road trip) so we didn't do too much else but sleep here. Both Arches and Canyonlands are just a few miles away so I would totally come back here to have a clean, well appointed room with a mini kitchen and pool supporting the American dream. :)

Yelp
Stayed at the Big Horn Lodge this weekend and the place was great. The management was very good, responsive and very helpful. The lodge was at a very prime location. The rooms were clean, internet worked well, and parking was easy. I definitely would recomend this place.

Janis R.

Yelp
Budget hotel but great location, very clean and comfortable. 2 floors Reception very nice

Madeleine D.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. We checked in and were informed that the state of Utah is experiencing an INFESTATION of a certain BUG type. There were pamphlets on the check in counter regarding the bug problem. The receptionist ensured us the bugs were only found in the windows and door cracks. Upon entering the room, it STUNK and we immediately found a bug located on the bathroom counter. Within 3 minutes, I had 2-3 bugs crawling on me. They were seen flying around the lights, on the chairs, on the vanities, EVERYWHERE! There was also incredibly insufficient AC and the room was still too hot for the Utah summer. Went to an updated, bug free hotel for cheaper.

Mark A.

Yelp
We spent one night at the Big Horn Lodge while visiting national parks in the area. Our room was good and had a very rustic appearance. The beds were soft and comfortable and I found the room to a decent size. The staff at the front desk was helpful in suggesting local restaurants and also helped us use the laundry facilities across the street at a different hotel. They really seemed to have everything we needed. It was also competitively priced compared to other hotels in Moab. I would definitely stay there again.

Trisha W.

Yelp
The walls are rice paper thin, you can hear everything....even someone breathing. Parking is really bad, I recommend parking your car no later than 5pm. Front desk, not very helpful at all, not wearing their mask properly, not friendly or welcoming. I think management here is practically non existent. We did however have some noisy neighbors and the night shift lady was very proactive and actually went to their room(s) and asked them to be quiet which was very effective. So she was helpful but the management, people above the night shift worker, were not helpful. Place is not reasonably priced, it's about $125 per night more or less. Location might bthe saving grace... but there are tons of other options that are equally convenient. The room itself was nice and the bed and pillows were comfortable, however the room was not very clean overall. I found sunflower seeds and other disgusting debris around our room. I reported this to the front desk and nothing. I would definitely do some more research with other nearby places before booking this one. For reference, all other major hotels, inns, lodges etc are on the same street within a one mile stretch, in other words they're all very close!

Danyle W.

Yelp
The staff at check in was friendly, the room was as described and comfortable, and it was walkable to lots of nearby restaurants and shops.

Angelo B.

Yelp
Very bare bones hotel. We planned a trip to visit Arches Park very last minute, so booked this hotel room a few days before the stay. So the price we paid was probably a bit inflated. Based on the inflated price, I would rate this 2 stars max. But if the price was under $100 (which I'm guessing is more normal), I'd put it at 3 stars. Based on this price range, its okay I guess. Rooms are old and had a weird smell. Carpet was sticky, so we didn't go bare foot. Ac was a wall mounted unit not strong. Walls and ceiling were all wood like a cabin (which I hate). Finally, it's off a fairly busy street, so there is some noise. Pros are the free WiFi and proximity to Arches park and a few restaurants. If I return to Arches, I'll probably stay at a newer hotel.

Jessy M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, easy and quick check in. At the end of town so not the best since I don't drive but it was nice a big grocery store and pharmacy were across the street as I needed stuff from there the day I stayed here. Room was clean and plenty spacious. I would stay here again if with my husband who drives. But for me after long trip and not driving walking to the grocery store in the heat was enough so I didn't do the shopping in town at the little shops like I planned. But hotel was good.

Anthony B.

Yelp
The Big Horn Lodge is between a budget to mid-range hotel with slightly elevated rates, no different than any other hotel in Moab. You're literally 5 min. from Arches National Park, the Disney World of Utah. Price aside, the staff was friendly and the check-in process quick, check-out process, convenient. There's a mail box outside the office to just drop your keys into. The hotel and room was clean with your standard room amenities to be expected (shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee, TV). Shower water pressure and temp. is good to very good. AC/heat unit worked very well. Moab has a lot to offer in eats and drinks and many are within walking distance from the lodge. I would suggest walking as hotel parking can be an issue if the hotel is close to capacity.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed. $230 for a Dirty Over priced room. The beds were not queen as was advertised, they were uncomfortable. Bathroom so tiny. We will not come back. Super disappointing to drive all Day and end up here Wash the floors and clean the place up. Gross!

Yuko H.

Yelp
Convenient location, located in the center of the Moab town. Walking distance to some of the restaurants. We stayed here three nights during recent vacation to Utah. Pictures posted here looked much nicer than actual room. What was I expecting? Room is very small and bathroom is way too smaller than I feel comfortable. They had a fridge and microwave. Bed was a bit too hard for my liking. Each door faces parking lot and you hear everything. Our room was assigned by the stair, I first thought lucky as I didn't have to walk far after hard day of hiking but we heard all. Everyone walked by liked to talk loud. Parking lot gets full as many customers like to bring their jeep or other off road vehicles. They take up more than one car parking spot. They have a restaurant onsite but we didn't eat there. If you drive 5-7 minutes outside the main street, I saw familiar brand motels such as Hampton Inn or Spring Hills with free breakfast. I think their hotel location will be much quieter at night.

Paul W.

Yelp
Three stars due to the fabulous desk staff and the funky decor. Stayed in December and a messed up weather stripping job (the door may have well been open) drove me out after a couple of nights. Very nice about refunding me the other nights plus additional discount. Come and stay, but only in moderate weather where heat or air conditioning is not needed

Lauren E.

Yelp
Bed bugs! When I called the next day to let them know that they were bugs they didn't offer to refund the bill or pay for cleaning my clothes, suitcase, etc.

Tabitha C.

Yelp
Not the worst. Not the best. CONS: Parking is almost impossible at night. We took a trip to Arches on our second night to see the stars and there was no where to park when we returned. We found a spot in front of the restaurant next door and prayed we didn't get towed. The night we got in it was almost as bad. We managed to steal the last available spot, though it was far from our room. Dragging luggage across the parking lot at midnight wasn't how we wanted to end our 16 hour drive. The rooms are hot during the day. The ceiling fan doesn't provide much relief. Fortunately, at night the room does finally cool down with the help of an oscillating table fan (look in the closet). It pushes some of the cold air from the small sink/dressing area (where the a/c is oddly located) into the room. I had to make sure to close the bathroom door and closet curtain to keep the cold air from being wasted in those spaces. I didn't really figure this system out until our second night. We arrived really late for our first night and were so exhausted, we just made do and sweated out the night. The beds are hard as a rock. My kid seems to like them, but he sleeps in floors and likes that, too. Me, not so much. It's a bit like sleeping on concrete, in my opinion. But, it's still better than sleeping in the car. The bathroom is uncomfortably tiny. I'm not claustrophobic, but I almost feel that way in these bathrooms. There's barely enough room to turn around unless you're standing in the tub. PROS: The rooms are very clean. The pillows are super fluffy and there are 4 on each bed. The tv had some good channels to relax to before bed. I've seen others complain about the noise, but our room has been super quiet. There's a bit of road noise, but the 2 fans and a/c drown it out really well. The woman at the front desk is really sweet. The Moab Grill next door does serve delicious food, though the staff seemed a bit moody. All in all, it was a suitable place to crash while passing through, but for the price I'm not sure we'd stay here again.

Gerry C.

Yelp
With a trip in 3 weeks, I had to book a room in Moab for 2 nights. The facility is rather funky, but once you get past this - the room is quite large for 2 queen size beds. Extra towels / rags for those that need to clean their mountain bikes! The room was furnished with a refrigerator, microwave and a flat screen TV. There was enough towels for 4 adults. This was my 3rd time in Moab in 15 years. I do not recall where I have stayed in the past. This was located in the southern part of town, walking distance to both Burger King and McDonalds. The newer hotels / motels are in the northern part of town. I thought the room rate was a bit high but since it is summer and the town was full of vacationers, I cant complain.

Bevan R.

Yelp
First time in Moab, currently staying here at Big Horn Lodge and I have to say that for the price, this room has been super comfortable. Check-in was smooth and friendly. Room is spacious, well-stocked and not as loud as I thought it might be being so close to the highway. Some reviews mentioned thin walls but we haven't heard a peep from neighbors. Beds are soft, plenty of pillows and a/c is good. If I had to criticize something, it would be the parking. Seems like if you arrive after like 7, it might be difficult to park. Aside from that, the actual stay here has been excellent!

Amy Z.

Yelp
Outstanding customer service! I'm writing my review to give well deserved praise for the receptionists at Big Horn Lodge. I had to call the lobby three times for various mistakes made on my end. The receptionists who picked up were understanding, friendly, and more than helpful, all three times. They truly helped alleviate some of our stress during a cross-country move. The rooms were great too! Clean, fresh, cute decor. Had a microwave, coffee machine, the coffee to go in it, etc. Left nothing to be desired.

Jon T.

Yelp
This is our favorite hotel in Moab, we have been coming here for 14 years. It is not fancy, but has everything we need. - Room to park a trailer. - Motor lodge style layout (no interior halls so you can park right in front of your room door. - attached restaurant good for breakfast - microwave and gridge in the room - modern HDTVs - good internet - great downtown location close to everything.

Ginger M.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here on our Wild West Trip! Authentic western lodge...notice the reading material in the room!. Very clean and comfortable. Glad we stayed here!

Ellie D.

Yelp
This is a great, no-frills place. We stayed for 5 nights and had no problems. The price was cheap, room was clean, the bed was comfy, the shower was hot, downtown was in easy walking distance, and the cable channels were plentiful. That's all we needed since the hotel was just a place to decompress and hat some sleep at the end of very busy/active days. Some of the older reviews complain about slow wifi, but in 2019 we didn't experience that. The connection was good enough to stream Netflix without any issues. There was a little outside noise, as others have noted, but it wasn't bothersome -- it was always quiet by 9 p.m. and didn't disrupt our sleep at all. We felt it was very good value for what we paid.

Alex And Fritz R.

Yelp
i recently stayed here for 3 nights. This place is clean, safe and well-managed. It's walking distance to all the shops and bars/restaurants in town. The rooms are quiet and clean and the beds are very comfortable. I will definitely come back here for my mountain biking adventures.

Rachel G.

Yelp
My friend and I found this last minute because we originally intended to tent camp before realizing how hot it would be. We hiked early in the morning and I called Big Horn to see if we could check in early. They were super accommodating and so helpful. We were so thankful for this! The room has a cabin feel. It was warm but there was an overhead fan and a smaller fan because the AC unit is not directly by the beds and those helped with the heat and moving the AC to the main room. It was 102 during the day and it was cool enough in the room. Everything was clean and staff was helpful. Overall a great stay! We would recommend to others staying in Moab!

Melissa C.

Yelp
I would give it even more stars if possible. The location is fabulous, the rooms are updated and have very comfortable beds and bedding. The way they laid out the rooms was brilliant. The fan/heater is in the back area where you are coming out of the shower to the sink, therefore you are kept warm as you primp. There is alot of road noise, which is the case for all the hotels in Moab. It is an outdoor paradise with lots of off road vehicles and souped up trucks, so is to be expected. We kept the fan on all night and it covered the noise. ( which is not the case with alot of the hotels on the strip) This was our 12th visit to Moab, and our 5th hotel we tried and definately the best. The staff was superb, there was never a time that they did not go above and beyond being friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff astounded us daily with all the cleaning they did of the grounds and walkways and areas that were touched as people went down the stairs. I am stunned at some of the comments, but each person has different demands for small towns. Moab is not Scottsdale. I hate to recommend too much because we will never be able to book a room again! Well done!

Alison P.

Yelp
Checked in yesterday afternoon. Nice, clean room. Kind of funky with their 60's style knotty pine walls, furnishings, etc. They do have a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV. 24 hour laundromat is just across the street which was important since we've been on the road for a week now. Liquor Store 2 blocks away. They don't sell wine in the grocery stores in Utah. It was a little noisy from the highway, but it wasn't bothersome. I believe there's a pool, but we didn't come to Utah to swim. Nice friendly staff. Rates are reasonable too!

Mary T.

Yelp
For a motel--great! Super clean, comfy bed, very dark in room for sleeping, and good price. Microwave and fridge are handy! Cars park right outside of room so being earplugs.

Blondrea A.

Yelp
VERY CLEAN and COZY rooms Amazing rates too plus cleaning rags in rooms for bikes / outdoor equipment

John A.

Yelp
Very conveniently located. Clean room , friendly service. My first time in This area and Utah for that matter. Personally, I thought it could of been a little less expensive, especially since no breakfast was included. Maybe due to holiday weekend??? All in all it was good.

Claire W.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights during a March weekend for hiking at Arches and Canyonlands NPs. I searched hotels.com for places and am glad I settled on Big Horn Lodge (which was not listed on hotels.com). BHL actually had a cheaper rate for the weekend ($80/night compared to others for $90+/night). We checked in about 6:30pm and was happy they gave us a room on the second floor. Parking was not an issue. It wasn't too noisy; I slept just fine. Refrigerator and microwave in the room! Wifi worked for Yelp, to figure out where to eat. Bathroom/tub was spotless. Didn't see any bugs. Good pillows, the feathery kind where it's not too stuffed or flat. Pro: - City Market is right across the street. This market is just like Smiths with the same deals! No outrageous tourist prices. - 5 mile drive from Arches - Moab Grill is next door: $1 pancakes on Saturday, you get 10% lunch & dinner coupons at check in I would totally stay here again. Smooth check in and no hassles. There are actually a whole bunch of places to stay in town...some that I didn't come across with internet searching.

Paul T.

Yelp
Advertised heated pool is NOT heated or debris cleaned out. problem reported may 6 th stayed 7,8 nothing done. All I can get is a stream of lies saying everything is fine when its NOT. so if you like to be lied to, cheated, and ignored. stay there and find out for yourself.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Not sure how to score this because my review is really to note the location. If you haven't been to Moab before, you have to remember that Main Street IS A HIGHWAY. True, it IS close to everything and that's convenient. It is clean enough in a simple way. We originally booked a room for 3 nights. After our initial night of semi's roaring by most of the night and a bear hunter who left all 8 of his dogs out in his truck whining most of the night, it was not even an option that all 3 of us had to move if we wanted to get any sleep. The reality is that this lodge sits on the highway and has big, glass windows which offer no sound insulation at all. Many of the hotels in Moab are situated similarly. So if you're someone who needs quiet in order to sleep, consider one off Main St. (they're there) or pay extra money for a nicer hotel that is closer to the gorgeous cliffs and further away from the highway - it's worth the money. If trailer parking is an issue for you, call around and ask the question. I saw a few large parking lots attached to hotels on the outskirts of town. The staff at Big Horn was very nice so I have nothing compromising to say about them. No refund was offered and we were just happy to get out of there when we did and find a new room.

Kaiyuan C.

Yelp
I stayed at this lodge for twice. The experiences were positive. The staff is super friendly. In fact, during my recent stay, I misremembered the date I was supposed to check out (In reality, I should have checked out one day earlier than I thought). The staff tried to call me, but I was in national park and got no service. Moreover, it was Christmas eve, so they closed the office. Despite this, the staff left my luggage and belongings intact and automatically extended my stay for one more day without penalty. They left new room key in an envelope for me at the door of the office. When I got back late at night, I was initially confused with the situation. I called their manager---who came shortly despite being holiday and reopened office. I then figured out the situation and managed to get into my room with all my stuff--thank god!

Shelley F.

Yelp
The hotel was clean, simple, nothing fancy. Our 5 stars are really for the customer service: we came into town for the Moab Trail Marathon and made a 3 day reservation months in advance. We decided a week out to drop to the half marathon so we could get a head start and head back to Kansas. We didn't really want to have to pay for night 3 but wanted a shower before hitting the road. When my husband went to check us out, a couple of hours after checkout they did not charge us for the last night. What a pleasant surprise!! Thank you for the hospitality, Big Horn Lodge!

Aaryn P.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here during our entire 6 day trip to Moab. I actually chose this place upon reviews located elsewhere on the internet - not on Yelp. I'm glad I based my opinion elsewhere, as had I seen the reviews here on Yelp I probably would not have booked at this hotel. We had a fantastic stay here, and I would stay here again. First thing's first - our room was clean. They cleaned it every day! The maid got to know our schedule and didn't come knocking until 10:30 - 11:00 because she knew we liked to sleep in. And..it was the same lady every day. How awesome is that? She did a great job cleaning every single day as well. We left her a nice tip at the end of our stay. Secondly, the beds were very comfortable. The pillows, as another reviewer stated, could have been a little better. But, I'm a pillow snob and most pillows at most hotels don't impress me much so I bring one of my own to be a little more comfortable. The interior of the rooms is all wood. It does give a "lodge" or "cabin" feel to them which we enjoyed. The toilet/shower area is a little small - and the door would always run into the floor mat provided which was a little obnoxious. Otherwise, we had a table, plenty of counter space and it was pretty cozy. The WiFi was spotty at best - half the time we used their internet and half the time we used our hotspot, we are glad we had the option of our hotspot because in the evening, the hotel would book up, (every night!) and the internet connection would go to crap. I was pretty disappointed in their vending machines. The one in the middle on the first floor was out of order - which they told us when we checked in. Fine. They said use the one on the top floor. Mid-stay, I went to the one on the top floor and it was broken too. The other one on the bottom floor that wasn't broken, (or maybe it was, I didn't use it) only had sports drinks. I went to the office and they did refund the quarters I lost in the second floor machine, but geeze. Whoever they use for vending machine service should get their crap together...and Big Horn Lodge should hold them more responsible for the quality of their machines. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Moab. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly - even when the power went out because of a storm. The hotel wasn't all that spendy for what I can imagine other places in Moab are, so we were happy to pay the rate that we got. We had a great stay...and would do it again!

Donald K.

Yelp
For the money this place was great. The room was spotless, bed were comfortable with rustic cabin feel. Room had refrigerator, microwave and coffie maker. Right next store is the Moab grill with some really good food. This hotel is 5.5 miles from Arches national park. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Shayda P.

Yelp
The staff was friendly. The location is great and the rooms were clean. We couldn't beat the price. The only con is that there is no grassy area for the dogs, but it's the desert.

Sheryl S.

Yelp
The big horn lodge has an old school cabin feel, but manages to be clean and welcoming. As a cyclist, I love that they allow bikes in your room and provide rags to wipe off dirt from your shoes and bike. There is a pretty decent size fridge and microwave and although the bathroom is small, it gets the job done. No breakfast and a pool that was already closed for the season when we visited.

Dwain C.

Yelp
Well guess I forgot to check in when we got there. We stayed from July 4-8th. Our room was on the first floor of this two story motel. Initial observations. The room was very nice and clean. It had two queen size beds and they were very comfortable. The room price was fairly reasonable for what you get. The amenities are a little lacking but all the basics were there. Tv, fridge, blow dryer, iron and ironing board and free wifi. There were enough wall plugins to charge our electronic devices. The air conditioner is an in wall model and placed at the very back of the room. It didn't turn the room into an ice cube, but we did stay cool with the help of the ceiling fan. The room was a steal compared to other prices of rooms nearby. Depending what time of year you go here the pricing will fluctuate. It's what you would expect tho to pay for a solid two star motel. The only downside to this place is that there really isn't a place to take your pets if they're traveling with you. You'll either have to walk or drive several blocks to an off leash area called Bark Park. I checked in here and posted pictures. Don't confuse it for the one I checked in and wrote a review for in the Denver tech area. All in all I would this a two star as a hotel/motel but 4 stars on friendliness of staff, cleanliness of rooms albeit the room decorations were a little dated. (Southwesterny feel), close access to restaurants and shops and centrally located close to the National Parks and driving trails. Kudos to BigHorn lodge. We will stay again next time we visit Moab.

Yelp
I've stayed here regularly for about 15 years. They cater to the outdoor enthusiasts who visit Moab - bikers, Jeepers, ATVs. And they have dog rooms. They leave rags in the room for use while working on your bike, Jeep, etc. Service has been consistently friendly and helpful over the years.

Yelp
I can't really explain why I loved this place so much. Nice room with high ceilings. Let me check in early. Overall great vibe.

Yelp
we saw the billboard that stated that they were cheaper than the big brand places to stay in Moab. and yes they were correct. however it was unclear when we went to check in. we have a service dog/family member and we asked if that was ok, the lady stated that she would allow it. strange, service animals are allowed whenever you inform a place or business. in my case, being a Veteran with PTSD, my service animal is my family member. so that being sad, we checked in. when I walked around to walk my lil buddy, I saw that there was a permanently mounted doggie poop bags on the walkway leading to the rear of the motel, which has a dirt gravel lil grassy area for doggies. I wondered why the lady mentioned that she would allow my service doggy as if it was doing me a favor. any business that doesn't allow service doggies issure to lose repeat customers. so not sure if we misunderstood. the pool is small and good for kids if you have. close to walking distance, and the room we had was clean. the bathroom was very small. but it was clean and the price was a great factor. so yes we recommend staying here. we also saw another guest with two small dogs. so if this business reads this, please let your potential guests know that service animals and pets are indeed allowed. trust me pet/service animal parents look for pet friendly places, and will do business with your establishment. service and therapy animals provide a necessary service to families, especially veterans that have been placed in horrible situations that keep haunting us. a dog brings love and provides a safe environment. so remember please adopt instead of buying. theres alot of dogs out there that need a loving home. thank you for reading

Yelp
Extremely clean and courteous staff at a wonderful hotel. I haven't seen prices like this since I was a kid twenty years ago but the amenities are incredible. Next time traveling through Moab I will stop here no questions asked.

Yelp
Pro: Great location on the south end of town, close to the grocery store. No road noise from the room. Nice front desk. Knowledgeable on policies. Room had a nice look with the "lodge wooden feel". High capacity ice machine was great, and centrally located. In room fridge and microwave worked great. Attentive FD person closed the pool within 2 minutes of a lightning strike. I paid $110+tx per nt in July. Con: The AC in the room is located in the back of the room in the bathroom. The front part of the room has a ceiling fan and an oscillating fan. FD lady didn't know much about the adjoining restaurant. She had never eaten there or looked at the menu. Wifi sucks... ok for checking POP email from a handheld device, but forget about looking up any websites. I checked the speed from my room (215) and the highest speed I got was .03 Mps. When I asked the FD about it, she said she was computer illiterate. The TV was a nice flat screen, but the signal was very grainy. One day, we asked for no housekeeping. The FD lady said she would get the message to HK, but they cleaned the room anyway. There are signs in the room saying they are concerned about water conservation and wanted to re-use towels. I have no problem with that, but then they have a toilet that uses 4 gpf, no air-rater in the sink faucet or shower.

Yelp
I screwed up our reservation dates and Mariah was extremely helpful and courteous. She helped get us set up with another hotel in no time and was kind and thoughtful throughout - got me out of the dog house with the family!!! Thanks again Mariah!

Yelp
This place is great. The people at the desk are outstanding and the adjoining restaurant was really good for breakfast and dinner. The room had the Lodge look and everything was clean to a T. We stopped at a couple of other places that were booked and fortunately Big Horn wasn't. 5 stars for the exceptional service of the front desk. Hope to get back to Moab in the future to explore and will definitely have Big Horn at the top of the list to stay.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for two days w/ our dog. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Given that everybody here is into outdoorsy things I really appreciated that they have tiled floors w/ are easy to keep clean. Imaging carpets in an area where people come into their rooms w/ dirty, sandy shoes and you get the idea. Overall we were super happy w/ their staff. We intended to stay in the Big Horn Lodge for one night but our car broke down the day we arrived in Moab and had to get it into a garage the next day. While we were waiting for the car to get fixed the front desk allowed us to get back into our room w/o charge even though it was after the check-out time and the room had already been cleaned. We later decided to stay another night. Paid $56/night including the pooch. The only negative I can think of is that the walls are pretty thin (but then, this is true for most places in this price range and their internet is pretty slow. But again...) We'd definitely stay here again.
