Stopped by for lunch with my husband. I ordered the Italian wedding soup and he had the Seward sandwich. We both liked our orders. We also shared a lemon blueberry crepe which was delicious. The service was fast and there were some cute tables by the window.

I remember coming here maybe 8 years ago and fell in love with the breakfast sandwich. Coming back today was a big disappointment. I ordered the heartlake sandwich that comes with eggs, avocado, tomato, cheese and onion. The sandwich had barely any avocado and was a bit soggy as it was not grilled enough. The cheese was also not very melted.. will not be coming back. Big disappointment as this place was really amazing back in the day.

Google
What an amazing breakfast and lunch shop! When visiting Lake Placid, you must give them a try! We were there for 3 nights and had their breakfast all 3 mornings. The crepes, wraps and coffee were delicious! Not much seating, but we'll worth the wait or take it to go!

During a recent family trip to Lake Placid, NY, we decided to try out Big Mountain Deli & Crêperie, a place we'd heard about for its wide selection of sandwiches and crêpes. Established in 2007 by Phoebe Burns and her mother, Holly, the deli has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects their passion for food and the beautiful Olympic town they call home. What caught our attention was their extensive menu, boasting 46 different sandwiches, each named after Adirondack peaks, and a variety of sweet and savory crêpes. The sandwiches, with options ranging from roast turkey to smoked salmon, and even vegetarian choices, were tempting. However, it was the sweet crêpes section that ultimately won us over, particularly the Bananas & Nutella crêpe. Opting for the Bananas & Nutella crêpe was a unanimous family decision, and it did not disappoint. Made with a French vanilla bean batter, the crêpe was perfectly thin and delicate, enveloping the rich, creamy Nutella and freshly sliced bananas. It was a delightful blend of flavors that had us all savoring each bite. The kids, especially, declared it the best part of the meal, already asking when we could return for more. Aside from the food, the service at Big Mountain Deli & Crêperie was top-notch. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. It's easy to see why this place is a favorite among both locals and travelers. Our visit to Big Mountain Deli & Crêperie was a memorable one, not just for the delicious Bananas & Nutella crêpe, but for the overall experience. It’s a must-visit spot in Lake Placid, whether you’re in the mood for a hearty sandwich or a sweet treat. We’re already looking forward to our next visit

Google
Not dietary friendly. Ordered #66 Pastrami, hash, egg crepe due to my dairy allergy. When received there was a significant amount of cheese inside. I mentioned it to the staff & they said “yes, cheese comes with it” even though it didn’t say it on their menu. So the menu on the board should be changed! A bunch of other items state that there’s cheese inside. Hence why I ordered the #66. After a quick back & forth (the customer isn’t always right I guess?) I kindly asked them to make one for me without cheese but the staff claimed they had to charge me for another. Very disappointed! It was not my mess up. The only light is all other friends in my group were satisfied with their orders.

Google
Great deli on main Street in placid, some street parking with municipal lots available, all paid. Menu is massive, plenty of sandwiches to choose from with tons of fun and inventive variety. We went with the Whiteface and the Macomb. Both were awesome, bread was fresh and the ingredients were flavorful. Friendly staff and plenty of places to sit. We had to wait a bit for our sandwiches on a Sunday morning, but that was to be expected when they are that good! Will definitely be back

Google
This place was amazing. They have artisan coffees, crepes, burritos, sandwiches, and salads. They have a large selection of all of them for reasonable prices. The food all tasted amazing. The service is quick and the atmosphere is quaint. If we come back to lake placid, we will be back here!

Google
If you like a lot of bread and no meat on your sandwich this is the place. Got into town on Friday around 12 pm and stopped in for lunch, reviews looked good, we were quickly disappointed. We ordered sandwiches and we had maybe 2 slices of thin sliced turkey on the sandwich with thick relatively dense and dry bread, staff was friendly but this was just bad.

Yelp
We were very happy to find this gem while staying by Lake Placid. The menu may have been a little intimidating but actually makes it very easy to order. We went there for breakfast and lunch every day. I was very thankful for the vegan and vegetarian options. The line may look a little long but they move pretty quickly. The staff was very patient and friendly. Everything we had was delicious. I really appreciate that they are conscious of the environmental impact of their wrapping & containers. If you're in the area, this is the place to go.

Yelp
We've been going to Big Mountain for years and enjoy their crepes and sandwiches I stopped to get a sandwich to go and some of their salads. The young woman at the counter was very helpful and I ordered one of the many mixed meat sandwiches on fresh, large, white bread. I ordered 2 sides , macaroni salad and coleslaw....they cost extra but were a special for $1 each. Everything I got was fresh and delicious. Service was great, the inside is okay, just a bit crowded and noisy. It gets very busy so try to get there off- peak hours. I took my meal home for later.

Yelp
The sandwiches here are delicious and very unique with some terrific flavor combinations. 5 stars! The hot cider drinks were really good & special. 4 stars. I got a strawberry sugar crepe, which was good. The crepe is a bit chewy for me, I prefer crispier edges and the whipped cream was flavorful but was canned so it collapsed fast. 3 stars. Service was good, as everyone was really nice & it was faster than expected. 5 stars We were lucky to get a table for 4, as there are only perhaps 6 tables & it's a little place. 3 stars. But the food is worth waiting & bring a little cramped. Try to review the menu before you go in -as it is extensive!

Yelp
Solid spot to grab some takeout if you're on the go. Came here for a quick bite with a friend on a Saturday fall morning. The place was decently packed with people seated at the tables or waiting for their food. We ordered a Pastrami Hash 'n Egg Crepe and a French Toast Crepe. Of the two I thought the savory crepe was better. The sweet crepe was an interesting concept but upon trying it I think we came to the realization that french toast is maybe better left alone and not stuffed in a crepe. Otherwise had a great breakfast from this place!

Yelp
Amazing, went there for a treat for my daughter but then I had to have one for myself. I hade one with Bread Pudding that was great and my daughter had the Key Lime pie one that was good but not as good as mine. Cute place that is proud of their food.

Yelp
This could be the best sandwich I ever had. Big menu of sandwiches and wraps named after the different high peak mountains. I had the Iroquois which is a chicken salad with lemon and rosemary. Incredibly good!! You also have a choice of bread and I had the sandwich on the basil-pesto bread. Awesome! Note, this place is very busy during lunch. Be patient, it is well worth the wait!

Yelp
Our first morning in Lake placid and this place did not disappoint. I got the bark eater coffee and it was a maple, whip cream and granola latte. It was SO good. Should have gotten a large. My fiance got a dirty hiker coffee which was a chai tea, espresso and cocoa powder. He loved it as well. We both decided to get sandwiches. They had like 46 to choose from. I got the heart Lake which was egg, cheddar cheese, tomato, avocado and red onion. My fiance got the lower ausable which was eggs, maple mayo, breakfast sausage and brie. You could choose any of their breads to have it on. They have freshly made delicious bread choices. I got the asiago peppercorn bread and my fiance got the rosemary garlic. We loved both sandwiches. Both were full of flavor and good combination of ingredients...and the bread was so good. We decided this is where we will be getting our breakfast before our wedding next year.

Yelp
This crêperie was a lovely stop while exploring Lake Placid. The service was fast, the prices were reasonable, and the crêpe had a delicious taste. I highly recommend this spot to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious post-hike sandwich!! Nice seating area & friendly staff! Got the whiteface on basil pesto bread & the potato salad -- would totally get it again, though there are so many more choices to try. And they're all named after the 46 peaks!

Yelp
A must visit place in Lake Placid! I usually get the crepes but this time tried a sandwich (I forgot the name) but it was delicious. Fresh roasted peppered turkey, provolone, avocado on an Asiago roll it was huge and flavorful. Others had the strawberry Nutella crepe and the buffalo chicken crepe. I have never had a bad meal here and my sandwich was enough to make 2 meals!! Friendly and fast service!

Yelp
Really enjoyed Big Mountain Deli on our visit to Lake Placid last weekend - we went twice and got 4 different kinds of sandwiches on various breads, plus coffee. The whole vibe of the place is awesome, and I absolutely love the 46 sandwiches named after the 46 peaks - great stuff. The service was kind and efficient, and it gave a definite local, homey kind of feel. The sandwiches were a mixed bag. My number 12 on Asiago peppercorn bread was unbelievable. The number 16 on seeded rye was fine, but a bit messy. My girlfriend's wraps looked good, but very small for the price honestly. The signature lattes we had were cute and tasted good, but my girlfriend asked for iced and they gave her hot. Lots of positives about this place and only a few detracting elements. Would recommend if you're ever in Lake Placid!!

Yelp
I love this place. They have delicious sandwiches and crepes. This place gets busy in the mornings; I'd recommend stopping by when you have a little extra time to wait, or you can get take out. This place is right in the village and is very easy to get to. Their crepes are freshly made right in front of you; I love watching the process, even from the window sometimes. I highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
This place was packed ! Has a very extensive menu. My husband really enjoyed his sandwich. I thought mine was only okay. Service was quick. There's barely any seating, so we scoured the downtown area (in the rain) in search of somewhere to eat. We ended up just standing and eating in a crevice of the mall.

Yelp
Wow was it busy in here! We stopped by for some sandwiches for lunch and saw the massive line outside, which moved fairly quick. Good luck with finding a table though.. We were lucky and had an open table just as we finished ordering. All the sandwiches were named after the famous ski mountains in the area. I had a thanksgiving turkey sandwich on rosemary bread. Oh so yummy! Paired it with a signature raspberry mocha latte and was sent to heaven. My boyfriend, Blake, got the Blake Sandwich which was a buffalo chicken sandwich because that was the obvious choice for him.
google avatar

Jyll D.

Yelp
Really good and great value for price. My daughter got a crêpe which was gooey and delicious. My son and husband got the meat lover special burrito and I have the mushroom spinach burrito. All very good. Have to give a huge shout out to the delicious chocolate chip cookie. We shared the baking cookies. I think it could be a huge seller for them. They start marketing them.

Yelp
This is certainty a interesting place. Let's start off with the crep, a cream Brûlée crep is certainly something anyone would want to try. so I did, and I can certainly say it's like a crème brûlée in a crep. send the service, the servers were nice, and the food didn't take too long to make so that's a thumbs up. And the inside of the place is like this diners sort of style. Anyway this is a place I would visit, but I don't know if I would return.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast place in the area! Many sandwich options for Eggetarians. Basil pesto, Rosemary Garlic and Rye bread tried all of them very tasty

Schmitty W.

Yelp
Food was great. Huge menu, so maybe consider looking ahead of time. Somewhat limited seating, but we didn't have to worry about it even during lunch rush on the day we went. The only negative thing about our experience was the young guy named Hugh at the register. He was weirdly rude and impatient to everyone, however, he got the order right and was quick so at least there's that.

Shannon B.

Yelp
Have gone once so far, but very happy with the overall experience and certainly would go again. Very happy with a variety of crepe and sandwich options. I can't say it was the best I have ever had, but really good and priced well. Service was quite fast and above average in my experience. The building was a little small without a ton to write home above, but overall a comfortable atmosphere and more catered to takeout orders.

Yelp
Came here for lunch Pros: - Fast service and affordable prices - Very creative list of options to choose from - A small salad comes with the savory crepes Cons: - Small portion sizes - The meat that comes with the sandwiches aren't seasoned very well, the tasty part of the sandwiches are from the various breads that you can choose from - The savory crepes are dry

Yelp
Such a great lunch spot! They also serve breakfast and have a long list of really good looking lattes, but I didn't try those. Delicious sandwiches with very creative fillings, we got ours hot. Almost fifty sandwiches on menu, plus salads, sweet and savory crepes, and soup. About a dozen sandwich breads to choose from. Not huge portions, fine for a regular lunch but might be small if you've been hiking all day. Very long line, but it moved quickly and we got our sandwiches with a short wait. Limited seating, considering how busy they were. You can stand around and try to grab a table as it opens up, or take your sandwich down to the nearby park and sit by the lake. Small parking lot across the street, $2 per hour. Carries Pepsi products.

Yelp
A unique experience right on main street in lake placid! Options to order a sandwich named after any of the high peaks you may have hiked that day, in the past or planning for the future. Love seeing the different options for each peak, with cascade making me laugh as it is a good ol simple PB & J sandwich. Great options for coffee and chai as well. Order up front with options to dine in or take it to go as you wander the scenic main street of lake placid.

Yelp
We tried a little bit of everything: crepes, breakfast panini, and sandwich. Everything was delicious!
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
This place was delightful!! We don't have a crepe place near us and we're so excited! Everything was delish! The food didn't take long. Seating is limited but we were able to take a table for two and we noticed the tables turned over quickly. We wish we had a place like this near us!!
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
Love the variety and options here! Delicious crepes, sandwiches, etc. highly recommend calling ahead or ordering online before going since the line can be a bummer. But service is excellent, large space for eating in too! I'm thinking I'll grab a crepe to go in the morning actually. Yum !
google avatar

Veg D.

Yelp
Quick service. If you need to grab food on the go, it's convenient. I wasn't crazy about the sandwich which I ordered, however. I think it's overpriced for the amount that you receive. Hardly any egg salad on my egg salad sandwich. Service was not the friendliest either. Just not sure what all the hype is about.
google avatar

Jim S.

Yelp
The food is really good. Everything was delicious and the food came very fast. Now it wasn't noon and we did stand in line for a bit to place our order. The staff is very nice. It's clean and deft not fancy. The rest rooms don't waste space.
google avatar

Dennis G.

Yelp
Took the family here for an excellent breakfast. I had the sausage egg and gravy crepe and it was delicious. Everyone else raved about their orders too. Good coffee.
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
How many options do you need to pick from when you're hungry 5, maybe 10? How about 46 delicious sandwiches and crepes to fill your stomach after a day of hiking, kayaking, or snow sports? This place has you covered, the food is prepared quickly (although try to avoid the big busy days when there are sports tournaments in the area because you won't be alone in wanting to eat here).
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
46 sandwich options so anytime I come here I have to order two. I had the Setmore and the NYE. Both were fantastic and the bread options always hit.

Diane C.

Yelp
If there's a criticism, it's that there's too many options. But what we've landed on were clever pairings and delicious! Drink selection meh

Yelp
Went back with my parents for breakfast during our trip to Lake Placid this year and got the Key Lime Crepe. Also tried the Blueberry Lemon Curd Crepe. I still really like their crepes and stand by everything I said in my previous review regarding the crepes. I didn't order a smoothie myself but tried both the Banana Pear and what I think was blueberry and raspberry (don't remember exactly) - the banana pear was delicious and had a great creamy texture - the blueberry was good but not really what I'd usually go for and the texture was inconsistent between icy and watery which made it hard to drink. Coffee was kind of a disappointment. I wanted a decaf Hermit Latte (butterscotch), but first wanted to check if they had decaf espresso, and the woman taking the order said yes and added a decaf espresso to the order. I then said I would have it in a decaf Hermit Latte, to which she just replied, "Oh, you want it in a latte," and I responded, "Yes, Hermit Latte," but when the order was ready I just got a normal latte. I probably could've avoided some confusion by just going straight to the latte order without checking on the decaf, but it was definitely a disappointment to just get a regular latte after trying to confirm that I wanted the Hermit. The latte in itself was also underwhelming, I found the espresso to be very weak. I feel bad for them since they seem to be very understaffed since COVID - we had a friend who tried to go for lunch and said they'd closed early because they didn't have enough workers to meet demand. They currently don't have indoor seating or ordering, you can order online, by phone, or at the register set up at the door and pick your order up outside when it's ready. During busy hours it gets congested outside. We came right around opening time and didn't have to wait to order in person, but if you're going during a busier time I'd recommend just ordering online or calling.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
We enjoyed this cute deli for lunch one of the days during our recent trip. They have a huge list of sandwiches and ordering is simple. You call ahead, and wait outside for your order. The weekend I was there, they weren't letting folks inside and simply placed your order on a table out front. They also have a large selection of crepes, chips, and other treats available. I tried to also order a cookie for my partner but alas, all out. There was also some confusion as I called to order while standing outside, then waited and waited until I could flag down a staff member. I would recommend just calling ahead then calling when you arrive. Sandwiches are all outstanding and named after ADK mountains. A super cute stop for lunch or breakfast while in town!

Yelp
Was back in Lake Placid after five years and saw this sandwich shop was still around and still had great reviews and ratings. Decided that I needed to check it out again. Once again a wonderful, huge sandwich. I had the #1- mount Marcy and the gentleman behind the counter was nice enough to let me try the cranberry chutney to make sure I liked it before choosing the sandwich. The bread suggestion of rosemary garlic complimented the sandwich perfectly. Also had a nice warm apple cider and it was delicious. The only item I got that was not my favorite was the macaroni salad. It was nice and fresh, just prefer mine a little sweeter. Great service and good food. Will return for sure when back in the area!
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Good lunch or breakfast spot in Lake Placid right on the Main Street! I got the strawberry Nutella crepe which was pretty good although I thought it could've been more substantial for the $12 price. You go up to order at the counter and can either try and find one of the few seats or take it to go if it's nice out.
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
Yum! Hubby and I went based on yelp reviews and didn't disappoint. He had the veggie omelet, which was packed with great veggies and cheese. I had the smoked salmo. Crepe and it was so good, I wished we had more days to go back. Try this for a fast well done meal.
google avatar

Kieu-My N.

Yelp
Every time I come to Lake Placid I always stop here. There's so many options and everything is very reasonably priced. This time I stopped by and got the Gray sandwich (roast turkey, sopressata, provolone, roasted red peppers & pesto mayo) on their rosemary garlic bread before heading to Whiteface to ski for the day. The sandwiches are quite big and was a great lunch to have to refuel for skiing!
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
Can't imagine going to Lake Placid and not going here for breakfast or lunch or a snack. We had breakfast. Good covid practices: order online. They text you when ready. Bag is on a table. Hope this is still available post covid. (Note. One person did try to "borrow" someone else's breakfast. Told his kid, just take any bag. The crowd suggested otherwise.) Our group tried a range. You can't go Corned beef French toast Ham and brie Eggs, bacon, hash browns Pick your fav! Reco sharing a few!
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast options. So many sweet and savory crepe and latte flavors, it was hard to choose. My pickup order was missing my sandwich, but the staff made up by adding a drink and chips when I went back to get it. My sandwich was a bit of a disaster to eat. Staff Very nice and friendly. Would def eat here again -- I want to try all 46 sandwiches!
google avatar

Alexandra T.

Yelp
Ordered sandwiches from big mountain deli on their app for lunch over July 4th wknd. So many sandwich options! Was almost overwhelming knowing which of the 46 to go with :) I got the Marcy (#1) on sliced whole wheat which was turkey, cranberry relish, cheddar, apple, horseradish crema, and pepper mayo. Really tasty and it was the perfect size. Would definitely get it again. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and while he loved it the con was that it was very very small. We questioned if the rest of the chicken and ingredients were accidentally left out because our friend who made her own wrap got a much larger portion of the same tortilla wrap. A friend also got a corned beef sandwich and enjoyed it. Perfect option for an easy lunch option to bring onto the water, eat outside in town, or bring home. Reasonably priced and pickup was quick and seamless.
google avatar

Caroline K.

Yelp
Super good sandwiches! Many options (duh! ) A little expensive for sandwiches but high quality so I guess it makes sense? The sandwiches are a little small though for the price
google avatar

Melanie K.

Yelp
Wonderful selection of crepes and sandwiches and there is something for everyone. You choose your sandwich and choice of bread. This place is very popular during lunch, but the line moves quickly and the wait isn't bad. The portion is generous and they offer free ice water. I would definitely visit again and try something new every time since there are so many options.
google avatar

Cassie C.

Yelp
Ordered take out from here for lunch. The ordering process via their window was easy and our food was ready in less than 10 mins. We ordered the berry crepe and the Whiteface sandwich; both were VERY filling, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The crepe was filled to the brim with berries and marscapone cream. The bread for the sandwich is made fresh daily. Such a wonderful place.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
This review is solely based on a breakfast sandwich I ordered which was phenomenal. First of all, I appreciate the order and pickup process during covid times. Simply submit your order online and then pick up from a table outside the store window. Clean and efficient. No direct contact. Now the sandwich. I ordered the Lake Placid breakfast sandwich: sausage, egg and cheese on a toasted rosemary focaccia with ketchup. It sounds simple, but damn it was good. Bread was perfectly toasted, warm and slightly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Perfect ratio of sausage egg and cheese and topped with ketchup and cholula. My breakfast tummy was delighted. It was so good, I went back the next morning and got the same thing instead of waiting on line for a sit down breakfast. Not sure when i'll visit lake placid again but if i do i'll make sure to get my breakfast sandwich fix there!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The sandwiches we received were very dry and not very flavorful for the price that we paid. Service was good... And the place itself has a very cozy feel.

Hu J.

Yelp
Do not come to this store! Just because I have to post the review i wouldn't give it even one star! Otherwise you may be scolded! I ordered 4 sandwiches today, I waited for 30 minutes, and the order number has been called to around 70, jump over me at least 10pepole and there is no mine. So I politely asked the starff or owner with beard how long do I have to wait? Turns out the shop owner screaming at me use profanities and yelling me fuxking get out of the shop! Is this concider a racism? Just because I'm Asian and he think my English is not good, so he can use dirty words to yelling me? I really feel terrible! I feel insulting! Will the food from a shop that treats customers like this be delicious? Do not go there!

Colleen K.

Yelp
this is normally our favorite place to get a sandwich but today, one of the men making sandwiches started yelling at a customer who kindly asked about her sandwich since about 10 people before her got their food. He started screaming at her using many profanities. My young daughter was very upset to hear his language and how he was yelling at this woman for a simple question. I am not sure I could go back......

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches! Wide variety of choices. Everything was fresh. Choice of breads was great. Great place to grab a quick lunch.
