This brewery is delicious and worth a visit in downtown Hot Springs, especially if you’re coming off the Lover’s Leap Loop trail or the Appalachian Trail. I got a flight of beer, all of which I enjoyed, followed by a burrito and chips at the taqueria in the back. So good!

I am totally blown away by this place! I have been here numerous times prior to the Helene devastation and have always loved it. It was a great place to ride the motorcycles to the mountains and have some cold local brews and some great food. Having seen the destruction both first hand and through videos, what this place has accomplished to reopen is simply amazing! The entire place has a great vibe with many locals and out of towners both enjoying the outdoor seating as well as the indoor accommodations. The folks working the bar were friendly and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere just made you want to hang around for more beer, food, and striking up conversations with so many people. Definitely a friendly crowd is drawn here. And it is VERY dog friendly here, which we always love to see. We had some of their newest additions to their large beer lineup and were not disappointed. The food there is actually Grey Eagle Taqueria and has an extensive menu. This is definitely a bright spot in the middle of a small town overcoming tremendous obstacles one day at a time. Will be back!!

Google
Fun spot with delicious brews! We were taking the scenic route from TN to NC on a Sunday afternoon, looking for an interesting place to stop and found this gem. My husband ordered the Kind People Kolsch, and I had Bless Their Tart Berliner Weiss. Then we split the porter. So good!! As a bonus there was live music playing an eclectic mix of country folk and a spin on Pink Floyd! Highly recommend!

Delicious food and nice atmosphere! The avocado quinoa salad and carnitas tacos were our favorite and oh so good!

Great local brewery. Inside and outside seating. The Grey Eagle Taqueria is located within the outside seating area. The tap room is cozy and air-conditioned. Good selection of locally craft beers. Staff is very nice and helpful. The food is good.

Now this is an interesting place to go visit in Hot Springs North Carolina along the river it’s a brewery that you walk in and they have nice brewed beers. I recommend roof dog one of my favorites alcohol contents, like 6.2 or 6.3 very good the atmosphere I’m giving five stars everything else and the service at the brewery was excellent so that’s why I gave that five stars but everything else we haven’t tried. We haven’t tried the food yet we just sit out and had a few beers and listen to the music they have live music. I believe Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I’m not sure about the rest of the week, but what a cool place not sure about the prices or how the food taste or anything so we’re gonna make another venture back for that and when we do we will let you know also, the pints are six dollars but still we have not tried the food our next visit. We will be eating and posting about the food.

Yelp
This brewery was a nice space to sit down and try some food while traveling through town. There was a lot of outdoor space and inside space with the brewery. There is a taco window in the back and the food is reasonable priced. Not wanting to explore too much, I played it safe with a trio nacho tray and enjoyed the queso the most. The guac was not seasoned well and the chips were thick for my liking. There was plenty of leftovers that I ended up not eating. The rest of the menu included burritos and tacos with a churro dessert. I did not try the other items, but watched a few tables get their items from the window several minutes after I sat down with my chips and dips. The space is dog friendly and there was plenty of room outside between the picnic tables to sit and relax. The parking situation wasn't too bad, but can be tricky on the weekends when more are in town. I was also planning to do yoga on Saturday morning but that was cancelled the day before. I will be back to try more and am hopeful that I will be pleasantly surprised!

Yelp
We had so much fun here! The beers and food were great. The band they had performing (The Cinners) were amazing and they had us out there having fun! We stayed for over 4 hours just because we were having a blast.

Yelp
Great find right off of the AT. If I was hiking through, I would be elated to find Big Pillow. They have a solid beer menu, and a decent little taco shop out back. Lots of tables inside and out to choose from. A little stage for local musicians to play on. The location is on the part of the AT that passes through town, and right before the river. Great spot to take a break from an afternoon hike, or take a load off while passing through the area. First time was a great time, and won't be my last time

Yelp
Second time visiting the area took an opportunity to catch their Christmas Eve sing along. Really cool fun group of people. It's a dry county co keep that in mind , beer and wine only , no hard liqueur.

Yelp
We noticed Big Pillow brewing came to town after occupying the old post office in this AT crossroad town. They had navigated every loophole and regulation to open a family friendly taco serving, badass beer brewing, live music pumpin' shin dig. It's got pretty much everything, outdoor seating for a small army, open air bar, dark hole in the wall vibes, and the taco stand and brewhouse are in adjacent buildings. The backdrop of the western Carolina mountains is the cherry on top. I had met their unofficial mascot earlier. A cowgirl and her trusty horse Gringo. She needed carrots and cigarettes to get her through the night from the nearby market. She invited us down even though we had already planned on it. In just the short time we observed she took pictures with kids and boasted a beer holster on the saddle. She might've spilled more beer than she drank but she gave the place a western vibe. The music was great and this was a rainy night, the have a main stage in the back that would've really been kicking on a sweet summer night. Check out their live music scene on Friday and Saturdays. The service is pretty much order at the bar and friendly. The beer was great as this microbrewery had something for everyone. Campers, AT hikers and just locals in general all fused together with ease.

Yelp
I've stopped here a few times now and I'm never disappointed. The beer selection is always good and the food is always great as well. The patio is pet friendly and it would be abnormal to not see a dog outside. It is a great place to meet up with friends, chill after a hike or start conversations from random hikers on the Appalachian trail. Of all the times I've been there, I've yet to sit inside. I'm sure it is great too, but I really like the patio vibe

Yelp
The taco food place is great, but the star of the show is the beer! Great service and relaxed laid back vibe. Highly recommended and we will be back when in Hot Springs for sure!

Kim R.

Yelp
Amazing!!!!! What a great place. Such a great place to relax and enjoy delicious beer. Every beer we had was above average! 5 stars for beer. We had the hazy ipa's and the bluff mountain porter. Bartender was so kind. The tacos next door are to die for. What a great way to spend the day after hot springs. We love this place and will be back!

Yelp
Stopped back in for Christmas Carols by candlelight last Christmas Eve. Wonderful crowd and staff. Great beers! Dog friendly. Great place. Check them out.

Yelp
Pretty cool place, cold craft beer and a cool vibe. You can even bring your dog in if you want. Folks are pretty nice and welcoming as well.

Yelp
This review is overdue. Highly recommend for a drink especially after a long hike. They have all kinds of craft beer options as well as some non beer items. Food next door is all amazing. They have some amazing pretzels, nachos and tacos. Environment is casual. There is indoor and outdoor areas. Pet friendly. The indoor area is your basic bar environment with pub tables and bar. The outside has large picnic stye tables. Drinks are ordered at the bar and there is an outside walk up area to order your food. There is no wait staff, it is all self service.

Yelp
I love this place. Like a cozy cabin with great beer, dog friendly, games, music. Mexican food available from Grey Eagle Taco. Get the carnitas quesadillas & guacamole! SOOO GOOD! Beer: a bunch but i get a Hunker Down! Yum! Outdoor space with flowers and live music often. Just can't say enough awesome dogs Bartender and singer, Paige!!!

Homer S.

Yelp
Our group enjoyed a couple nice cold beers accompanied by street tacos after a half day rafting the French Broad. Its proximity to the AT would be heaven-sent if I was hiking past.

Yelp
Great location to have a beer and hang with friends or fellow AT hikers. Beer selection was grwat. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Facilities are clean and they offer food, but we didn't have any.

Laura N.

Yelp
Cozy, local, and serving up good beer! Very dog and kid friendly. There is often live music + board games. Indoor/outdoor seating and it's steps away from the Appalachian Trail!

Julie H.

Yelp
A good variety of beers on tap brewed locally and lots of others in cans are available. Great laid back vibe here, I could have stayed all day. The staff was great! Pet and child friendly with lots of outdoor seating.

Shawn G.

Yelp
Stoped in to stretch our legs while being detoured through Hot Springs. Great dog friendly place with some yummy beers. We enjoyed the ones we had. Cheers!

Yelp
This place is so so great. We ended up going again today because we enjoyed it so much yesterday. Such a comfortable atmosphere - the staff and the patrons are so friendly & the beer is delicious. This is a gem for Hot Springs! Bigfoot had a great time too!

Yelp
This is a much-needed addition to Hot Springs. Great indoor/outdoor hangout spot. Good beers, good food. I recommend the $15 pretzel; after the sticker shock, you will enjoy the hell out of it!

Clark L.

Yelp
Beers good. The seating inside out is comfy and adequate. We did not try out the food but can recommend the beer on a hot sticky day

Yelp
We loved Big Pillow Brewing! I am not a big IPA drinker, so their selection was awesome. We tried everything on their menu, IPAs included and enjoyed them all. Great seating inside and out. Fun staff. Dog friendly. 10/10 recommend

Lloyd D.

Yelp
Terrific beer with small Mexican restaurant in the back. Stage for live music on the weekend. Friendly staff and great hangout spot for folks with good tempered dogs.
google avatar

Kay N.

Yelp
Went there a few weeks ago. I wish them well. Beautifully remodelled space. My husband and I had a some flights so we could taste their offerings. Too many IPAs for us, and that left us with mostly darks. I'd like some wheats and lagers in the mix. Food ordering was ok. You have to go to the Grey Eagle window and order and pick up there. Two separate vendors, separate checks, separate tips. But I'm sure they will do fine.
google avatar

Serena Y.

Yelp
Delicious beer and the enclosed patio is awesome. Great service and super open space. Dog friendly and fun. Hot Springs really needed this place. The Grey Eagle Taqueria is also delicious.
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
We had some hazy IPAs which were fabulous and also a couple of light beers had by our friends and then we had some fabulous signature tacos from the Greyeagle and can't speak highly enough of how fabulous a place this is so you definitely need to make it a destination!!!!!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Great beer and great tacos. Perfect place to grab a bite after a float down the river.

Katey G.

Yelp
I stopped in about a month ago - had a porter and it was delicious! I like the open air courtyard, the dog-friendliness, and some delicious smells were coming from the taqueria! I will most definitely be back!

Brian B.

Yelp
Everything was great! Variety of beer for everyone, awesome bluegrass band playing and phenomenal burrito, nachos and plantain. Will definitely be back.

B M.

Yelp
Great spot to drink some good beers and eat some great tacos (not your typical tacos!) after a bike ride. If you're in the area, you need to stop by.

John C.

Yelp
A cool little brewery to compliment a cool little town. Very friendly staff and laid back atmosphere.
