It wasn't perfect but it was affordable. Management was nice and very responsive to our issues. The room was mediocre and small. It didn't match the advertisement pictures and the upstairs guests were quite noisy. But as I said it was an affordable place to sleep. I would recommend based on very affordable accommodations in the busy summer season

Google
Absolutely terrible hotel - our room was disgustingly dirty, there were an insane amount of bugs everywhere, the carpet was not just stained, but had wet & sticky spots all over the floor, the walls were stained and smelled of smoke. We went to the front desk for assistance and a different room and waited for over half an hour for anyone to speak with us. We were then greeted with incredibly rude front desk staff telling us we simply need to email their customer support team and that there was nothing they could do. I lived in South Lake for several years and never had an issue with bugs so it’s not a location issue, it’s a hotel issue. There are so many better hotels in the south lake area for a comparable price that are cleanly and have welcoming, helpful staff. I’d never stay at this hotel.

Google
The dirtiest hotel I have stayed at! Chewed up bubblegum on the bathroom floor, wet toilet paper next to the toilet, dirty walls, dirty floors, black shower floor, mold in shower, holes in the wall the list goes on. Great location but doesn't make up for the room you will get. Also you can see through the blinds at night even when fully closed. Don't stay here!

Google
DO NOT STAY HERE. Horrible. I’ve stayed in a lot of crappy budget hotels in my day, and didn’t have high expectations, but this was laughably bad. I paid almost $200 (which I get is a budget rate in south lake tahoe during the summer) but really wish I would have spent $50 or even $100 more to avoid this dump. -When checking in, front desk agent was bothered and snippy with me for no reason and gave me no basic check in info. - My room felt so dirty and had standing water on the bathroom floor, a dirty old piece of pizza box on the closet shelf, and unpainted patches all over the walls. -booking touted “private beach”- which is actually a shared private beach that is about a 10 minute walk away. -I walked down to the beach to learn from the attendants that you have to get a voucher from the hotel. It is then $5. -I walked back to the hotel to get the voucher but no one was in the office and it was locked. -no info binder or phone in the room (probably because they don’t want you calling them with all the issues they have) - Walls and ceilings were incredibly thin. I could hear private/normal level conversations through the walls. Could not wait to get out of this dump. Barely slept and left early in the morning.

This place is great for spending amazing time with family. The hotel location is very convenient and you can walk to many attractions. The rooms were fairly clean and comfortable. Staff was helping and friendly. The prices were very low and budget when we stayed there. And i found it great value. Would stay again in future!

Google
My family and I chose this hotel mainly because of the pool—it was important for our 12-year-old son. For the price we paid, we could easily have stayed at a much nicer hotel without a pool, but we decided to book Big Pines. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed when we saw the condition of the pool: dirty, poorly maintained, and with the motor completely turned off. It was obvious that it hadn’t been cleaned or serviced in months. We paid for a pool we couldn’t even use. As for the room—it was basic but fairly spacious. The old furniture and tiny TV weren’t a big issue, but it was clear that there’s a general lack of care. Everything felt neglected and poorly maintained. The bathroom was the worst part. The showerhead was about the size of a soda can, making it impossible to take a decent shower. The grout was filthy—just a bit of Clorox spray would have made a difference, but that clearly hasn’t happened in a long time. The shower knobs felt like they could fall off at any moment. We also couldn’t sleep well because of the heat. The room had an air conditioner, but it was unbearably loud. I considered leaving the bathroom window open, but that wasn’t an option either—it had no screen. The only positive aspect is the location, which is truly excellent. Still, it’s not worth staying here for that alone. Sadly, I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone. As a small business owner myself, I understand how damaging a bad review can be, and it saddens me to leave such negative feedback—but I honestly can’t imagine the owner being proud of the very poor standard of this place.

Google
Big Pines Mtn House is a great place to stay for an affordable price and its location is really close to so many fun parts of S. Lake Tahoe. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Super nice people. The room, 126, needs more upkeep. It was definitely clean, though. No towel bar in the bathroom as it had broken off and wasn't replaced, broken and peeling flooring in the bedroom, horrible fluorescent lighting in the bedroom, virtually no outlets for charging devices except for one in the bathroom. The room smelled SO STRONGLY of some kind of cleaning fluid or room freshener it was overwhelming. I would still stay here as it is quite affordable in Tahoe.

Google
Room we got was on second floor of the hotel with a partial view of mountains. We enjoyed the view in the morning and evening time. The room itself was clean ad cozy , with all the amenities we needed for a short trip top to Tahoe. The front desk guy was friendly and very helpful whole time. The location was very convenient and at walking distance from city center.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night on a weekend getaway this fall, and everything was perfect. Room was fantastic, staff was friendly, and the location was perfect for our needs. Definitely recommend this location for your stay.

Yelp
I have pretty low expectations of the old motels near Stateline. They are conveinient to the Heavenly Gondola and the cheapest lodging when you just want to ski, apres, and sleep, but they are old, poorly maintained, and dingy. Big Pines was all of this and also very dirty. The bathroom had been hastily mopped and left wet without removing the hair and grime from the floor, the carpet had not been properly vacuumed, and the heater was musty and ancient. There are other motels close by that manage to clean their rooms well enough that I don't feel the need to leave my shoes on when walking around the room. Stay there instead.

Yelp
A complete dump. $264 a night should be a little better than this. Nice staff but the room is awful. I used the toilet and there's a lean when you sit .. rooms are not clean. I would have been happier at motel 6. Im being honest not dramatic. Place is very old, very outdated motel.. I won't be surprised if I go home with fungus on my feet or bed bugs. The photos will speak. :-(

Rico D.

Yelp
Stayed here to save $50 and wish I hadn't. Bigger room but was cold all night. Had difficulty managing the heat with the in room heater. It would get too hot some would turn down but them it got too cold. Cosmetically, it was a mess. From loose floor tiles to leaky bathroom sink. Bed pretty big but very uncomfortable. Noisy people, can't fix that, but the flooring outside was old so was hard to be quiet when walking around. Just an old place that needs a major facelift.

Yelp
The pictures online are deceiving. This hotel is really old and run down. I made a two night reservation at this hotel after finding it online. The rates were attractive and pictures of the rooms looked pretty good. My experience was another story... The room was clean, and spacious, but the furniture was old and worn out. The flooring had large gaps in it because it was so poorly installed. The bathroom was missing a towel bar, the heater needed paint, and the TV was small. Also the WIFI was almost useless it was so slow and there was a shortage of parking. Those were minor annoyances though. The thing that really bothered me was how poorly constructed the building was. The insulation was so bad I could hear the people above me walking around, and talking late into the night. At times, the walls of my room shook because people were slamming doors and walking heavily in the room above me. It felt like the motel might blow over in a heavy wind storm. The room did have a microwave, small refrigerator, and coffee maker. That hardly made for all the noise and annoyances. I'd avoid this motel if possible.

Yelp
Disgusting. Although $385 is not much for South Lake Tahoe, it is still $385. This place is awful. It's a total dump. Do not ever stay here
google avatar

Yelp
Rooms are dirty. No place to plug your cell phones No parking. etc We ended parking 4 blocks from the place. She said to park in the street. Place is noisy. Pleas avoid to all cost this place.

Yelp
The property is completely torn apart. The TV did not work, we got switched to a different room, the window shades were broken so people could look in the window at all times, we had to put a towel over the window so no one could see in. The floor was rotted underneath and it felt like we were going to fall through. The sink and toilet were leaking. You could hear every conversation through the walls and not to mention the walking above you all night. I would rate this negative starts if I could, this place should not be operating.

Luis J.

Yelp
This was the most DISGUSTING hotel room I have EVER stayed in. Not only was I charged for a deluxe king room & not given anything but the normal room, my room looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. There were red stains on the towels in the bathroom, red stains on the toilet bowl, some kind of juice that had hardened on the nightstand by the side & my bed was full of OTHER PEOPLES HAIR. Not mentioning the mold growing in the bathroom, the exposed wires all over the place, & the false advertising for rooms, I wasn't offered anything but a "my bad. Call my boss" when I brought this to the front desk's attention. I checked in on Friday night & checked out Friday night because we REFUSED to stay here. With the amount of nice hotels just within a 2 minute walking distance, you'd think the very least they could do is CLEAN THEIR ROOMS, but low & behold, they didn't. If you have any other option, stay at any other hotel, & if you can't afford any other hotel, postpone your trip. It's. Not. Worth. It.

Yelp
If I could give this place a ZERO I would! Staff was rude. And the room was horrible. The bedding was uncomfortable, we went and bought our own blankets ... but the worst thing was the shower not working. That's unacceptable. We tried to talk to the office about it, the door was locked and the male employee was sleeping. When I went back later, he was still sleeping but the door was unlocked. As I was talking to him he just kept rubbing his eyes and grunting at me, not making and verbal communication. Simply rude and unprofessional. I don't make reviews often... but this place needs to be warned around.

Yelp
This place is like the trenches. It's disgustingly dirty and sooo outdated. The entire hotel is in need of a deep cleaning and some major TLC. The photos posted by the hotel is false advertisement, so please read the reviews before booking (unlike I did). The lamp outside the room we were given should've indicated that this would've been the worse stay we've ever had. From the dingy carpet, to the dusty furniture, to the horrible bathroom- you're better off staying at the hostel next door! Here are some positives: great location to walk to the beach and plaza, staff were friendly, plenty of parking, AC worked great.

Yelp
BED BUGS do NOT stay here. We thought it was a cheap find and weren't worried to much about how nice the room was because it was just a place to sleep but we got covered in bed bug bites. My boyfriend even had to go to the doctor because there were soo bad and so many which confirmed they were bed bugs. I contacted the hotel and they gave me an email, never heard back from them. So I kept contacting them and NOTHING. I'm in works with the Dept. of Pesticide and Agoda which I made the booking through. So disgusting please do not waste your money.

Yelp
This was the worst experience in a hotel ... the carpet was so dirty and the AC stinks - can't say enough it was a last minute booking so we were not able to get anything else that late in the night - the bath tub had glass doors and one of the panels was missing so a lot of water came out to the floor. The. Toiletries were so basic to shampoo and conditioner- no lotion I had to go to the front desk to request anything bc there was no phone in the room- AVOID THIS HOTEL- was worst that any motel I can't tell you enough totally not going back there- the only thing was the location was very convenient- the pics in Expedia are very deceiving totally not as advertised! BE AWARE . Also the customer service was horrible - I requested for room house keeping and they didn't even delivered clean towels !!

Bertha R.

Yelp
Was a great price but u get what u pay for....we stayed in colder weather & our heater didn't work

Maria B.

Yelp
This place is not what appears in the pictures online or on Expedia. The place was filthy, dirty carpet and lots of stains and hair all over the walls. When asked the front desk the gentleman stated that they didn't have extra pillows and if we would like our room cleaned we would have to request it the night before. This place literally needs to shut down: also be careful the faucets are backwards. Hot is cold and cold is hot. Also the tubs are like full of stains and mattresses like they were picked up from a dumpster. The coils are sticking out of the mattress. Save your money and don't stay here!!
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
The water pressure was horrible, the heater would not shut off. The swamp cooler was iffy. The property is a mess and the pool picture in the site is not what the pool look likes. Very much in need of updating. We left because it was just uncomfortable.

Yelp
Got this hotel because it seemed decent for a one night. The room was alright. They had the controller with a cord so people won't steal it lol small tv! The bathroom sucked the cabinets smelled like pee and they are all dirty they don't even wipe it down all stained and the towels after a shower so harsh/rough. I wouldn't get this hotel in the future.

Yelp
This weekend 7/28/23 -7/30/23 My husband and I stayed at this hotel and we had one of the worst experiences. From the costumer service to the room we got put in. The room was extremely dirty! Towels were dirty the bathroom was filthy! Paint coming off the walls the AC didn't work and had so much dirt when turned on it caused us the worst allergies, the ceiling had mold also. When I brought this up to the staff and I asked to be moved to a different room the person I spoke with argued with me on how he didn't have any more rooms available. However, when I went on the Big Pines website there was rooms available. The only person who helped us bringing us clean towels and fix the tv was a kind lady named Ana. Overall a terrible experience I will never return and will never recommend to anyone! Not worth a single dollar I payed and wasn't able to get a refund for two nights almost $600 I don't get how they're still in business it's so unsanitary to put people in that filth. There are only a few of the pictures i took.

Yelp
This place is an absolute sh*thole. You're better off taking up a bed of pine needles and taking your chances with a bear. R Kelly wouldn't pee here. There are missing fire alarms, uncovered outlets, exposed tack strip and little confetti penises everywhere; I'd feel safer sending my kids for a weekend at Michael Jackson's (G*d rest his soul). Carpet and furniture were so stained I thought it was pay by the hour. Truck stop hookers shutter at the name. My Craigslist dog thinks sleeping on the floor is taking too much of a risk, even for him. And we still don't have our pillows.

Isidro B.

Yelp
Where do I start . The lack of housekeeping . The rug is very dirty and even got my feet all black from whatever it was . The room still had crumbs from the last guests . The shower curtain was dirty and didn't change it. One of the beds had dog prints 1. Maybe the sheets didn't get changed. 2. Maybe they weren't washed the right way . The pictures they have online they are very nice, but reality is very sad . The front desk lady is very rude and not very helpful at all . I do not recommend this place to no one, especially if you have driven for hours and are looking for a place to lay your head . I love Lake Tahoe, but not this place . I'm never returning back to this place again, and this is from a returning customer .

Yelp
Catfished. I don't even want to give this hotel 1 star! We stayed one night at this property all I could say was that the pictures that are online is not what it actually looks like in person. First of all it was very expensive for the type of room and service we got. Second, we booked a room with 2 beds, a kitchen and hard wood floor. When we arrived there was carpet, the sink in the kitchen had mold, and the oven had grease all over. The utensils they had also were very disgusting. We checked the beds and as we moved the pillows the sheets had MOLD! The bathroom was not any better. The sink was gross and old, the shower and curtain had mold. Paint was chipping off the walls, there was dust in the corners of the floor. The AC was a plug in. The windows had shades and didn't give much privacy. You could hear other peoples conversations in other rooms as well. Safety wise not there either. This property lacks cleanliness and it is definitely a health hazard. I honestly don't recommend this property. *Update* I contacted Expedia on Monday, this is where I booked my reservation through. I told them about my experience. They told me that they would reach out to management. It's now Wednesday and I have not heard from this hotels management. I called the hotel directly and a lady answered I expressed my concerns to her and asked to speak to a manager. She told me that they can't give us a managers number and that no one was available. The best she could do was give me an email, I told her ok I'll take that. She hung up on me. I called her back and got the email and asked her if she could please reach out to management and have them call me back. That it is an important matter. She started to get rude and when I tried to tell her it was a health hazard that was my concern. She called me a "bitch" and laughed and told me that "I could try and report them, that millions of people have tried, but have failed so I can fucking square up stupid bitch!" When I asked for her name to obviously report her to management she hung up on me. I did reach out to the email that she provided as well as Tahoe hospitality. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from someone to help me with this horrible experience and customer service.

Yelp
I just want to say how great the property managers were when we stayed here! We came in around 2am-3am and forgot to call beforehand about having a late check in and we felt so bad. We rang the doorbell and we could tell we had woken him up. But when he came out he was more than happy to help and was all smiles. He wouldn't stop telling us thank you and being so kind! He even came out to the car to say hello to me while my husband was inside and offered to help with with our luggage. He showed us where we could park and where our room was. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfy. You could tell it was newly renovated. We had a great sleep and checkout was simple. Will definitely be staying here again. Thank you to the property managers!

Yelp
Huge pain in the butt. We took a spontaneous trip up and booked on the way. We paid through booking.com. When we arrived this dump wanted a "resort fee" on top. It's a motel. Calling it a resort is a sick joke. But whatever. I gave them my credit card. They charged the full night's fee again. I've tried calling the numbers on Yelp and google maps and neither is good. I've had to spend a bunch of time through my credit card trying to reverse the fraudulent charge. This place is trash. Before that, my friend thought it was gross and wouldn't have stayed again. I thought it was fine for a Tahoe motel. But it was very loud. We were above the office and we could hear everything through the walls and the floor. Won't be staying here again for various reasons.

Helen R.

Yelp
*Run!!! Do NOT book this place ! Deceiving pictures!!* I booked this place for a stay with my family because the pictures looked good and price . After arriving and receiving my key cards to room we immediately noticed how there was no parking . I then had to park a couple of streets down the block . I then had to make a strenuous walk up the road to the room with my belongings. Upon entering the room i immediately noticed it was nothing like the pictures of the room I had booked. Very poor lighting, no kitchenette, bed had an old brown dainty comforter, broken blinds on window were so dusty, room reeked of cigarette smoke, dirty moldy bathroom, No outlets to plug anything! I then went straight to the attendant and asked to get a refund because room was nothing as advertised and there was no parking. She went on to tell me that no one has complained about parking and that I could park at a sister hotel . I proceeded to tell her that parking at another hotel or complex other than the one I had paid for was a no go and I wasn't going to feel comfortable having my vehicle parked were it could possibly get towed! I told her besides the parking it the room was nothing like the pictures and what was advertised! Room was just gross and in poor condition. She said that unfortunately I had purchased the stay through Priceline and I couldn't get a refund! She then started speaking in another language to other lady and laughed. I found her to be very unprofessional and extremely rude! I then told her I still wouldn't stay because it wasn't what was expected and returned the key cards back to her. I totally would NOT recommend! . Definitely not to health code! . No parking . Old Dirty bedding . No plugins . No kitchenette . Moldy bathroom . Dusty room . Cigarette smell . Broken blinds . poor lighting

Manny C.

Yelp
Only good thing was the location and bed was comfortable. The room was very old and the floor was sticky. Pictures online are not accurate. Many options that are better in town.

Yelp
First time visiting Lake Tahoe , great spot for a family has spacious rooms with bunk beds & great water pressure in the shower . It was also conveniently located around everything, but good think I put a chair for extra security on the front door because they accidentally gave keys to our room to someone else as well they did however fix the issue in a timely manner . Also at about 4:50 am there was a sudden creepy very loud ghostly sounding laugh coming from within the room heard by me and wife . Otherwise good experience.

Yelp
Stayed here this past weekend. It was alright. My friend booked it and I didn't look at the pics beforehand so I was surprised to see a stove, oven, pot, pan, plates, cups, and silverware. The fridge looked like part of the cabinet and did not properly close. Obviously looked a lot more run down than the pictures. Our room had 2 queen sized beds. Location is great, just a short walk away from all the shops at heavenly village. Could definitely tell we picked one of the cheaper places. We kinda lost the whole reservation roulette cause prices went up then we bought then it went back down. Oh well. There was a pretty effective heater in the room, heated up real quick but it was a little hard to control. The walls here are THIN. Our neighbors kept a TV on all night and it was so loud we questioned if it was our TV. You could also hear everyone walking out. The blinds also let a TON of light through. So yeah if you're a light sleeper, highly recommend somewhere else. I wish they'd put cones or something to mark parking spots bc there were rarely spots and you could tell that people could've parked closer together to fit another car but they couldn't see any lines. They did have a pick-up truck plow their parking lot and even shoveled us out when we got stuck. They have wifi here, I didn't try anything that would need good wifi but it didn't seem slow with normal browsing. No bugs or anything. Sheets were fine, I brought an extra blanket of my own. Tip: run all the faucets before using them. All of ours spluttered out some rusty water first. Check in at 3pm, Check out at 11am. There wasn't anyone in the office when we checked out. This place is decent for us broke college kids and had everything we needed, but I'd want to stay at a slightly nicer spot next time.

Yelp
I really wish I could give it a zero but where do I start. This place was a huge catfish, the pictures are definitely deceiving, I should have looked at reviews before spontaneously booking a room for a weekend getaway which ended in literal nightmares. The first room was disgusting and there were stains on the sheets and makeup and hair on the pillows. The second room....... Damn near the same but the sheets seemed cleaner. We were hungry and it was getting late so we stayed. We should have known not to go in there when our dog was fighting us every step of the way not wanting to go inside this room and my bf literally had to carry him inside. The first night was very rough, I had a nightmare and tossed and turned all night on that old uncomfortable bed. The AC hardly worked and it was so hot, we couldn't open the windows because there weren't any screens. Long story short, whether you believe it or not, on night number 2 my bf woke me up because I was screaming in my sleep. I then found out he had the same nightmare so we obviously left within minutes and it was almost 1am with a 2 hour drive home. This place is not only disgusting and filthy but I believe it to be haunted as well. Maybe it's not the whole place and maybe it was just that room but it is hunted for sure and there was also a book about possessions sitting on top of the electric fireplace that didn't work.

Kevin M.

Yelp
This place ripped me off with a classic "bait and switch." I booked a "deluxe quadruple room" thru an online booking site. Nowhere did the booking say a single word about bunk beds. I showed up and the room had two sets of rickety bunk beds that looked like a cheap European hostel. I asked the manager for a replacement room with a real bed, and all he could offer was an upgrade at an additional 50% of what I paid. He told me to email the parent company for a refund, which I did, and got no response. Even aside from my unfortunate experience, the place looked extremely run down and grimy. Spend a few more dollars and stay at the casinos.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Avoid at all costs. Rooms were filthy & hadn't been cleaned, like clumps of dirt & dirty q-tips just on the floor in plain sight.. & when we told the staff they acted as if their was nothing they could do. We booked through Priceline & could not get a refund. If you walk down the hall (which smells like urine) you can see how they keep their house-cleaning storage rooms because they have no doors on them; "clean" pillow cases, toilet paper rolls, & other "cleaning" supplies all over the ground.. & that's the stock room.. Whoever owns this place is clearly absent & doesn't care about customer experience / quality control. Go anywhere else but here.

Yelp
The worst hotel I've ever stayed in mold on the baseboards no towel racks in the bathroom holes were they were tiles falling off the shower rotten floorboards should be a zero star hotel motel six is 100 times better according to them we were in their best room.

lauren c.

Yelp
I'll let the pictures speak for me. No towels, no cups, no tissues, broken shower curtain, and a dripping bathroom faucet. Staff not responsive. Had to ring the doorbell 3 times and call 4 times to get a hold of someone. They were not busy.

Yelp
Seriously disgusting. My husband can tolerate a lot and has stayed in many many nasty motels in his day but this took the cake even for him. Smelled awful, splatters of who knows what all over the floors, no smoke detectors, a very questionable and large white stain on the comforter, but the final straw was something clogging the entire drain in the sink...still not sure what it was but I almost threw up when I noticed it. Literally brushed my teeth in the parking lot with a bottle of water. Seriously disturbing and uncomfortable. Go ANYWHERE else.

Jagadeesh Golla G.

Yelp
The location was fantastic. Situated just off the main drag, it offered easy access to everything South Lake Tahoe has to offer - from Heavenly Mountain Resort to heavenly beaches. Several restaurants and convenience stores were within walking distance, making grabbing a bite or stocking up on supplies a breeze.

Nina X.

Yelp
For what it's worth, read the reviews to save yourself the time, money, and your vacation. On the other hand if you just need a bed/place to sleep after being out all night drinking then this is would do. The drinks will helps you sleep through the stained bed sheets and conditions of the interior. One last thing, if you are traveling with pets, don't bother trying the yelp check in to waive the pet fee of $25 - they do not honor it.

David P.

Yelp
We paid for 2 nights in advance. We left after the first night and accepted the loss. The hotel room was dirty and noisy. The toilet wouldn't stop running (so I had to turn it off) and the shower dripped all night. The walls must be thin, cause we could hear the families and their pets as if they were in our room. We took a chance on this place and lost. The only redeeming thing was the front desk staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, they had no control over the situation.
google avatar

Shannon H.

Yelp
So disgusting. Honestly, this place is so seedy! We paid $350 a night for this dump? Save yourself the disappointment and stay somewhere else. And they have the audacity to charge a $16 "resort fee" per night? Are you kidding me?!?!? They didn't even vacuum our room before we checked in - gross food crumbs and god knows what everywhere. I'm actually afraid to use the bathroom.

Yelp
Oh lord. Don't do it. The one positive this place has is that i5 is pet friendly to 5he tune of an extra $25 per night. Oh yes and the ice machine works. This place is jankety and run down. I was clued into this when the manager offered to let me use the restroom in the lobby when I arrived before checkin time. The toilet was unflushed and was broken. He seemed fairly unconcerned !?! The room had a big wet spot in the back. The floor in the bathroom had cracks. Oh yes and to top it off there were no outlets near the beds. If you use a Capp you know why this is terrible. Why did we stay after all that? Non refundable.

Yelp
Do Not waste your time and money here! They are scammers! My fiancé booked and paid via booking.com and this sleezy dirty motel still charged him another nights fee. Even though he showed the front desk attendant the credit card charge he had from booking.com They are now not picking up the phone or responding via email. The only reason we stayed here is bc we planned a last minute vacation a few weeks in advance. This was the cheapest place available and now I know why! When we arrived and got into a room the electrical was not working. The hotel employee had to flip the electrical breaker to get our power on. The carpet is filthy, old and I felt like I was going to come home with athletes feet. The blinds, tv remote and fridge were noticeable dirty. Random brown streaks of who knows what on the walls. Look like they recently installed a wall heater and did a poor job with paint. Walls are super thin. Says quite hours at 10 but drunk people at all hours.

Yelp
If I could I would give it a zero stars, not exactly how is showed at the website. When I first entered the room it smelled like a sheep motel then the Atmosphere was getting not good, the remote control did mot work, shower ruff is falling, electrical wire from the TV is off, not worth it It would've been better Motel 6 instead of this place and the 4 nights I reserved was expensive for what I got. DON'T COME HERE you will regret it.

Yelp
Do not stay here!!!!!! Extremely dirty and rude employees. My friends and I stayed here since it was cheap but do yourself a favor and spend a little more and stay elsewhere. We got COVERED in bed bug bites, still have scars from all the bites. So bad. My friend has since reached out and cannot get ahold of a manager. This place needs to be shut down. It's a community health hazard.

Yelp
It was awful. It gets one star for location and barely comfortable beds. That's it! The AC did not work when we arrived. Maintenance had to "flip the switch". It turned on but never really worked. It was cooler outside but we couldn't sleep with the door and windows opened. The shower was so dirty, we refused to use it. The towels felt like sandpaper. Outlet plugs were not accessible. Outlet covers hanging off the wall. It's badly in need of a remodel! Don't book. We wished we were able to stay somewhere else but they were booked and we were tired.

Yelp
VERY DIRTY and liars! Please do yourself a favor and find another place to stay in Lake Tahoe. There was either blood or feces on the sheets. Peeling paint in bathroom and sticky bathroom floor. Peeling linoleum. Broken and greasy microwave handle. I asked to be moved to another room by Marco, the front desk person. He looked at the sheets and understood. When switched me to the room next door and it had a lot of the same problems. I knew I wouldn't be able to rest so asked for a refund. He agreed and said I had to call Agoda since that is who I booked through. Talked to Agoda who said they would confirm the refund with Marco and Big Pines Mountain House of Tahoe. Told Marco that Agoda called and he said, "he was busy but will call them back". Later I got a call from Agoda saying that Big Pines Mountain House of Tahoe declined the refund because I was being, "a picky customer". They believe that wanting clean sheets is being picky? What a scam. And there is no one to talk to because they only give you an email to the management, who never replies. Lastly, jacuzzi and pool is closed and you have to pay a "resort fee" when you check in. I asked what the resort fee included and Marco said it was for parking and the use of the fire pit. Please check the pictures and avoid this place!

Yelp
I really hate to complain about someone's business, however; we couldn't have been more disappointed. It was very old and bathroom was extremely outdated with worn out toilet sear. Broken toilet paper holder and door lock. Bed was uncomfortable. Kitchenette had one plate and two utensils for scooping. The worst yet was curtain were too small for window so we had to put up a towel so people couldn't see in. I am.very sensitive ti light. This really makes me angry. I tried to get a good deal for the price, once I went to book it price jumped up. We paid $315.00 for this wreck. I know that isn't a lot, it was way too much for this place. We had it for 2 nights. I am going to complain when we check out. The pictures are much nicer than the rooms!! This is the worst place we've ever had. Next time I am going to pay more. Yuck!!!!

Yelp
Stayed in Room 407, First off, noticed the TV did not work. There was no phones in the hotel to call out so I used my cellphone to call the front desk. They told me to unplug it, wait, and plug it back in. Well, that didn't work. So I was too exhausted to call back. Free WiFi, no password, auto connects. Ended up just putting something on YouTube on to fall asleep. I personally don't think I'm picky when it comes to hotels, as long as I can sleep comfortably and shower. Unfortunately, I couldn't rest. When I did end up falling asleep, I had sleep paralysis for the first time ! I had what felt like a dream that there was an apparition on top of me holding me down. And the worse part was I couldn't scream. Luckily, my boyfriend was there and he heard me attempt to make a noise so he said loudly "are you okay!?" And it woke me out of it. A few minutes later he said he felt tickling on his leg and his hair was pulled! I looked at him confused but I seen a few of his hair strands standing up! Maybe it was just a coincidence those strands were up. Idk what's up what that. It freaked both of us out. Probably the last time I stay here, Thank you, but no thanks. There's plenty of hotels around the area. I do appreciate that they have free parking, a fridge and microwave.

Yelp
Found this place super last minute as in on our way driving to Lake Tahoe. We had a choice between this place or the swanky hotel down the road with restaurants & casinos for a tad bit more. Ultimately, we chose this place for the value! We were having trouble booking the room online so we called the front desk and they were able to match the rate we were seeing online. Win #1. We got there and it looked like the place definitely could use a new coat of paint and some handywork, but heck that was to be expected. We knew what we were getting into! They gave us a corner room upstairs. Our room was rather spacious with 2 queen beds, an electric fireplace, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, flat screen TV, plus free wi-fi. Win #2. My son was really amused by the fireplace, especially since it displayed a fake fire, and it kept the room nice and toasty after an unexpected snow storm. Sure the furniture was dated, carpet wasn't the best, & the walls were kinda thin, but it was honestly nicer than we expected and we got more than we expected. It wasn't that bad at all, I've stayed in worse, and having a corner room made it even better! We just needed a place to rest our heads really. I also really liked the location of the room and having parking along the street made it so convenient to get in and out. During the early mornings we took advantage of their "free breakfast." Quotation marks because it's pretty basic: cereal, milk, coffee, tea, cocoa, english muffins, jam, & jelly. Considering how cheap our room already was, it was pretty impressive (to me) that they even offered this. Win #3! They also have a pretty prime location so we were able to walk to the basecamp shops, restaurants, grocery store, etc rather easily. Checking in & out was a breeze too and we had no issues at all with our stay. 2 nights for less than $100 on a last minute booking plus everything else? Mmm, yep, can't complain. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for lodging on a budget.

Yelp
I gave this stay 2 stars because it is in an excellent walking distance to shopping and casinos. Also, we had a flat tire and the office let us check out two hours past check out time. The floor in our room had cut outs on the wood flooring and we kept stubbing our toes and tripping over them. The tv had no signal and would not work. There is not a phone in the room so you cant call for service. We needed more pillows so I had to walk over and the front desk told me to walk around the inn and look for a housekeep and ask them. Our room did not have wall outlets to charge electronics- we happened to find an extension cord behind the tv we could use. Shower was nasty and very small. Very hot!! The room must have reached over 85 degrees in the night. Had to use the a/c for most of the trip which dried out our sinuses and made us feel sick. Lastly, you could hear every conversation in the rooms around us. (Including intimate moments that my children heard). Would not stay here again.
