No one answers the phone, no customer service just another digital company for plant Life?

If you are looking for a landscaper - KEEP LOOKING. The owner, Selena, did not honor the SOW(statement of work) contract we agreed to and paid for. We called several times to have them complete Phase 3 of the project, and finally, after a visit to our home to discuss, we were told they would not be completing the work originally scoped out and that there was an additional invoice for $5K. After several email attempts to further discuss the matter, and weeks going by with no response, I called and left a message on the company's voicemail. Selena returned my call over two weeks later, at 6 pm on a Friday night. When I picked up, she said, "Are you seriously contacting me about your garden? What do you want from me?" No hello. No trying to talk things out. Totally unprofessional, aggressive, and a little unstable. What do I want? I told her I expected her to complete the work we agreed to and that is in the contract. She laughed at me when I said I had a contract and then told me to F**K off and hung up. SERIOUSLY - this is how you treat someone who paid you nearly 100K for a landscaping job??? I warn others so they can avoid this woman and her business at all costs - and it will cost you. She will turn on the charm to get you to sign a contract and upsell you on additional things, and then once you sign and pay, she turns into someone else entirely. She was challenging to work with; many of my requests were denied for particular plants I wanted, and her surly attitude at every visit during the installation made us uncomfortable. Not to mention not honoring her commitment and using profanity. I feel bad for her employees who are hard-working and did an excellent job(although did not complete it). Selena cannot be trusted and you would be best served finding anyone else for your landscaping needs.

One of my company's vendors had a networking event here that we got to attend. The place is very cool with a nice vibe. Lots of plants, decorations and couches to hang out on. The charcuterie table was amazing. The outside area was nice too and they had a taco truck out back. Everyone was raving about how good the tacos were but they were a tad too spicy for me. (I'm sure they will still great though!)

Sadly disappointed Nice people and i'm sure they are great for flower/plant arrangements or small jobs but in trying to do design and landscaping for a family and home with complexity and goals they were woefully off point in Los Angeles. We tried so hard to communicate but still missed it. Not to mention the pricing was absurd.

Love this place and the supportive staff! Their artful plants are so beautiful! They have things at all price points. And they have so many things. They also Plan gardens and are so helpful.

"and the earth is our canvas"......is their slogan. Big Red Sun opened its second U.S. location this past weekend. Now the commercial & residential landscape designers are in Venice as well as Austin. I ended up at the grand opening party. I was passing by on Saturday afternoon and heard the live music, saw the crowd, pulled over & parked the car to see what was up. First thing that caught my eye was the colorful corner building that houses the boutique filled with accessories. Next I noticed the eye-catching landscaping that surrounds the location, and even covers the entire corner. See the photos. I'm a visual person who also loves nature as well as creative landscapes, so this scene was the ultimate eye candy for me. I was invited in by a man standing on the sidewalk, who turned out to be Steve, the creative director of Big Red Sun (see photo). He explained that it was their first day of doing business in Venice, marked by a party to benefit Surfrider Foundation. Wow! They had me before I ever went through the door. And it just got better. I was starving, had been headed up the street to Whole Foods on Lincoln. But.....Eureka! Behold the Green Truck! I'd not seen it since our last Yelp event, in WeHo. They remembered me! I got a burger, delicious. Six bucks. I sat in one of the garden spaces to eat, and that's where I met Jack, someone's very cute doggie. I had to give him a tiny piece of my burger because he kept staring at me with those soulful, longing eyes...... So. After Jack & I finished my lunch I explored the grounds. I saw interesting plants, cool wall hangings made from live greenery, a fabulous colorful boutique, handmade skateboards, the table set up by Surfrider where I bought a t-shirt...... Green sculpture was everywhere you turned. I went back to talk to Steve and complimented him on his very impressive creative efforts. There's even a veggie garden in front of the building with corn, a pumpkin (or squash?) patch, and more. Steve told me that Big Red Sun specializes in major installations onsite. Their website is beautiful, in fact. According to the Austin Yelp reviews, services are pricey. I can't comment on that, because to be honest I never looked at a single price tag. I was too enamored with the visual aspects of all the displays. According to the website, Big Red Sun also does floral designs for events. Wow, I'll bet that's something to behold...... One thing for sure is that the corner of 6th & Rose never looked more elegantly colorful. I hung out and listened to the live music, Big Thaw, which was great. Everyone at the gathering, mostly neighborhood people from what I could tell, was friendly. There were free samples of the super antioxidant drink, Acai, made from those much-hyped miracle berries. It was quite good. I took 32 photos! Haha, I was in my glory, free to roam with camera. Holy crap what a party, and what a fun experience to stumble upon on a Saturday afternoon. Nice to meet you, Big Red Sun, and welcome to my former 'hood, which happens to still be my fave place on this earth that is your canvas......

Walked in on happenstance and was tickled pink. Fell in love with this place immediately. Felt inspired and genuinely happy. They have a random assortment of items that make you smile. Charlotte was very helpful. Definitely going back!

I came by during the day just to check it out and look at the shop area. I was really impressed with the peaceful vibe and lovely venue. It would be a great place for a small event like an intimate wedding ceremony or private party. The small garden/courtyard area in the back is small but would look beautiful at night with the strings of lights and other decoration.

One of the most beautiful hidden gems in Los Angeles. Big Red Sun is so many things: crazy dope gift shop, landscaping company, event space (filmed Chef here!). Most of all though, they are a family, that makes you feel at home, right when you enter. Selena + Kanya are two loving angels that truly care about the customer. They have landscaped all the adjacent homes for free. I've lived across the street for 6 years. One of the main reasons Rose Ave has exploded the past few years is because of Big Red Sun. Stop in and find a rare antique, mind-blowing book, an awesome event space or new friend.

Big Red Sun offers the most stunning, rustic, unique, vibrant setting in Venice for any event you could be hoping to execute successfully in an atmosphere of utter enchantment. I found all at Big Red Sun to be extremely accomodating, attentive available and stress-free in consultation. The dinner experience that I executed there for my dining club, Currawong (http://www.currawong-la.com/) was an outrageous success and I look forward to holding events there in the future.

In a sweet bungalow in Venice is Big Red Sun a landscape and design firm that blends the indoors and outdoors. Having started in Austin, Texas their designers have a great understanding of their clients' need for drought-resistant plantings. Their Venice store showcases the company's aesthetic and focus on entertaining. Merchandise includes plants, succulent terrariums, home accents, vintage serving pieces (from glass punch sets to ice buckets), and beachwear. With plenty of seating and an outdoor fireplace the backyard is perfect for small gatherings and is available for parties.

BRS hosted our wedding reception, and they nailed it! The space is gorgeous and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our event was exactly what we wanted. We couldn't have asked for a better day and are extremely thankful!

This place has many cool items in here. If you like random fines or antique-looking things, then this is the place to be. My friends and I saw a huge dream catcher in the back of the place. It looked pretty cool. The succulents were all pretty awesome as well. And the staff were friendly. The only con about this place is there's no A/C. We came on a hot day. We found out they don't have A/C because the building is so old. Maybe they should get a portable? lol

the most beautiful unique looking plant arrangements... they do gorgeous landscaping for homes, but if you don't have a home, in the back garden they have small terrarium-esque planters as well. i have a thing for interesting plants and have been eyeing rig red sun's progress down the street from me for quite some time now. but the boutique! the boutique is marvelous. the building is a gutted out home, so you get to explore, room by room, like a treasure hunt. so lovely! definitely check this place out!

BIg Red Sun is a great addition to the neighborhood in Venice. The owner is very sweet and she is a true artist with an amazing and unique vision.

What a cool space. I didn't expect it from Rose Ave., but this place is magical. They have huge dream catchers, great garden items, candles and crystals. Then you go into the back and there's an area to hang out and plants for sale (mostly succulents).

I have been a fan of this outfit going back to my days in downtown Austin. I have been anxiously awaiting their new studio and boutique in Venice. These are the best landscapers around. They transform spaces into living breathing environments. If you have ever been to Austin and stayed at the Hotel San Jose, then you know what the feel of their work is. It brings a calm and visual pleasure that makes you want stick around. I cannot wait to stop by. I hope they have all those plants with the difficult to pronounce names. My son and his new wife engaged Big Red Sun to host their wedding reception dinner and celebration. Thanks to the staff, the event was a great success! We greatly appreciated their help unloading and storing the supplies needed. The table arrangements were done exactly as planned. The Big Red Sun's overall ambiance was exceptional, making the evening everything we wanted it to be.

This shop hosted a charity event that was enchanting due to the aura it provided. The lighting & decor are exquisite & the staff is very sweet. The books & fairy gardens are lovely. It was an unforgettable, charmed, magical evening.

We (CSA California) worked with Big Red Sun to host a Farm to Table Dinner and it was the perfect location! The staff was accommodating and helpful in planning, advertising, hosting, and cleaning up. The garden setting is beautiful and was transformed to fit our 60 guests, musicians, speakers, and chefs. We look forward to hosting events at Big Red Sun in the future. I had a poor experience with this company. I'm pretty interested in organic edibles and wanted to support a local business. They promised to work within my budget but immediately started sketching vague but expensive plans. The information given during the consultation was extremely vague and although a write-up was promised, it was never delivered. For a day-long project, they promised generous plantings along with a clean-up (and that I would be happy) but left without even removing all the dead plants and without even trimming the small amount of grass in front of my house. They barely planted anything but charged a very hefty fee for an incomplete job. I shared my disappointment with two different people there both of whom said someone would follow up to see whether we could arrive at a mutually satisfactory solution but no one ever called me back. I feel very ripped off by them.
