Prices were very high. Food was so-so. The service was awful! The young lady who works there should probably not be in the front interracting with customers, as her attitude is unchecked. We were in a good mood and ready to enjoy our day in the area, but she he ruined the day for our group. Decided not to make any further purchases there. Will not be supporting this business if I return to the state park.

My husband and I stopped by yesterday to get some sandwiches that were $7.50 each and asked for condiments and the older gentleman behind the counter was rude because we asked for more mayonnaise. Actually cussing at us because we needed a half dozen packets for 2 sandwiches. Come on now 2 mayonnaise and 1 mustard packets per sandwich is not much to ask for. It's the last time we will shop there! It's an hour and a half drive for us so we can find many other places to go.

Google
Staff is extremely rude and they make up whatever prices they feel like charging you, not the same as their posted menu outside. Food was not good.

Myself plus about 40 others set out for a group canoe/kayak trip down the Caney Fork River and let me tell you that it could not have gone any better. The staff (mostly family) made us all feel so welcomed and we had people who had never been in a boat of any kind on a river and all they talked about is what an awesome experience they had. The canoes and kayaks were in excellent condition and the staff explained everything to us in detail and that really helped us to make this adventure one to remember. OH and almost forgot to mention the home cooked biscuit breakfast they serve before we hit the water. Almost as good as my momma makes :) OH OH one last thing, several of us had to make a little pit stop before loading up at the registration facility and I know this sounds a little crazy but the restrooms there were super super clean and with all the traffic they have coming through there on a daily bases, that in itself was very impressive. In the end all 40 plus of us made a decision to make this a tradition so we'll be seeing you guys next year. Thank You BIG ROCK, D34

The owner's Daughter has been very rude and unapproachable every time we stop there. My family and I are frequent customers in the Summer. My last interaction with her left me speechless. She was very argumentative and rude when I was simply trying to be friendly and make small talk. Unfortunately, unless a dire emergency, I will not be back. This is sad because we've always enjoyed their food and the overall vibe of the store. I have tried to overlook her behavior and just be friendly, but I will not continue to spend my money where I am treated this way. Everyone is entitled to a "bad day", but she has behaved this way 90% of my visits.

Google
This place is great. All the sandwich’s are good but the brisket is outstanding and the cream macaroni with tomato is also really good. The store sits on a corner right before you enter Edgar Evins State Park. It’s a must stop for me before I go to the lake. By the way they are open every day but Tuesday. The hours shown on google are incorrect.

Google
Reading these reviews I was borderline nervous to step foot inside LOL. But our 2 recent experiences while staying nearby were excellent. Friendly fella at the counter chit chatted with us. Yes everything is high $$--there aren't many options around so ..duh?! :) Don't like it? Plan ahead and make sure you bring absolutely everything you need for your trip. We came back that evening for some BBQ and it was delicious. We got a pound of pulled pork to go and it was so deliciously smoky.

Google
The food here is overpriced but decent. The dark haired lady who works the counter/food area is extremely rude. We have come here a handful of times and it’s the same way every time. I see there are other reviews here mentioning her, I assume she's the owners daughter. Her personality is a terrible fit for anything in customer service. We won’t be back.

Yelp
The atmosphere like inside a mountain convenience store but more! The staff is friendly! Bathrooms are clean.

Yelp
Beef brisket is amazing. It's a must stop for me before I get to lake. Store hours on Google are wrong. It's open every day but Tuesday.

Yelp
I was really excited about this market, as it looks so cute from the outside and is in a convenient location. Inside, it has charm and good products, like cola made from cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, and is well-stocked with food items and some camping supplies to help you on your trip. Speaking of trip, what's the one thing you really want on a long trip? Yes, clean bathrooms and a place to wash your hands. You won't find that here. True nastiness awaits outside in the port-a-potties that the owner has provided because, in her words, she doesn't want to adhere to the covid regulation of cleaning the bathrooms after every 5 customers. As a result, I didn't get any of the items I had planned to select after going to the bathroom. It was just too gross and so inconsiderate to customers. They should do what everyone else is doing: hire additional cleaning staff. The woman there also had a bad attitude. Said she had been there 36 years--I feel bad for 36 years of customers. I see other reviews here saying the exact same thing. Such a let down for what would have been a great, albeit expensive, place.

Yelp
Really wish we could say something nice. Tried several times. We did find a Dollar General not too far away as an alternative.

Yelp
After stopping in on several occasions throughout the year/years we've decided to avoid this shop in the future. Our last trip we ran into the owner as we have many times before, she was absolutely rude and condescending. We will not be stopping here on anymore of our canoe trips or while passing through on I40.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Girl behind the counter acts as if it is a bother to her to wait one you. Also the guy there with her used insulting names towards a friend and myself. I recommend you never go to this store. Very cute place but is lacking in all other ways.

Yelp
Stopped here after hiking and grabbed some of the BEST CHICKEN TENDERS ever! The staff was super nice too!! We will definitely stop here when we come back to the park.

Keith G.

Yelp
Rudest people I've ever tried to do business with. VERY disrespectful. We were ordering food and decided to leave after the smart remarks of the owners. I highly discourage doing business here

Yelp
I live nearby the Big Rock Market and have 2 Airbnb's that stay busy with kayakers and outdoor lovers. I have lived in this area for 18 years, have eaten here many times, shopped at their kayak store and used their kayak rentals. I have also recommended this place to our Airbnb guests for kayaking. But I will never recommend this place again! I ordered $40 worth of plate lunches for the family and got home with the wrong side. I went back to get the correct side, the owner questioned if I was going to pay for the side even though it was their mistake giving me the wrong one. I said "no, you gave me the wrong side, do you want me to go get that side?" He ended up giving me the correct side but was rude to me and questioned if I was trying to get a free cup of coleslaw! He held it in his hand and wouldn't let go of it while I argued with him about a $3 cup of slaw. By this point I was very upset and left saying not nice words and he proceeded to follow me to the parking lot where he called me a damn yankee! I was wearing a mask and I don't know if that is why he called me this as I have very southern in accent. I will never go back to this store and recommend you stay away from this hateful business owner. I am appalled that a place I used to find so nice to visit was so rude to a well paying customer. I guess they can afford to treat customers rudely and loose business.

Yelp
This business is corrupt and dishonest. I was going to have an antique boat stored outside on their lot--before the season started I decided my boat was too old to handle the weather. Calling in advance of the season so they could resell my space (which they had plenty of, the owners were not truthful again). The store owner Janice said--no refund--yet that was not on any piece of paper or document signed. No where did she ever state it was a no refund policy. Just plain old theft is what I call it. No integrity or honesty in the business practices at BIg Rock Market. BIG RIP OFF MARKET is what I call it. BE WARNED and BE CAREFUL!

Yelp
nice facility to include some interesting things to look at. Customer service is absolutely horrible. Don't ask a question, the female behind the counter will issue nothing but attitude. For such a rural area you would believe the service would rock, no pun intended. When the current family first took the facility over they went out of their way to make you feel warm about your purchase, or canoe rental. Ended up going up the interstate to the other canoe rental and had a great experience. Will not do business with Big Rock again. Hate that because the past four years we used them....

Yelp
These people are rude as can be. The girl behind the counter (owners daughter I believe) is snobby and acts like customers are an inconvenience...the man who owns the store is a nice guy, his wife on the other hand is just a "you know what".....my advise is quit acting like your so important...y'all are not royalty even tho you try and act like you are...you own a market in Silver Point,TN that is a gas station and rents canoes, far from the "big time".....and I'm not the only one who feels this way...there was a group at our campground the other day who were all saying how much they hate this store....I'll never spend another dime in this place and I wish I had back all the ones I have spent here over the years....

Yelp
The store is very nice! Unfortunately the self claimed owner isn't! We went in to buy bait and found, Desiree? maybe her name was?, to be rude, sarcastic and resented answering any questions we asked, even asking sarcastically, " Aren't you from around here?" as if we should know the answers. We have children her age and the disrespect was shocking! If she hates her job, she shouldn't be there! Very very bad customer service! If she keeps acting that way, people won't come back including my husband and I! Most TN people are very nice and helpful. Quite the opposite experience here! Bad reputations and service spread quickly and if they aren't careful, they'll lose their business because people don't want to deal with that! We live 17 miles from this store... disappointing!
