Where to Eat in Aspen

"Even Aspen has a spot for stoned ski bums to down a giant wrap and some chips without judgment. Most wraps are under $8 and big enough that you can eat half now and take the other half with you on the mountain. Keep in mind that it’s cash only." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Probably the most affordable food in Aspen at $12-15 per person that’s not City Market grab and go. I recommend calling in your order 30-45 minutes ahead of time during peak hours and on weekends otherwise you’ll be standing in line for at least that long. Awesome wraps, good salads and tasty smoothies. I always get the chow baby, but wrapzilla is also good. Surprisingly decent chips and guacamole here as well!

As a longtime Aspen local, The Big Wrap has been a go-to spot for years—and for good reason. It’s one of the rare places in town where you can count on fresh, healthy food at a reasonable price without sacrificing flavor or speed. The staff has always been friendly, upbeat, and welcoming, even during the busiest lunch rushes. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between ski runs or picking up a post-hike recharge, they keep the vibe casual and the service efficient. Favorites like the Hail Caesar and To Thai For never miss, but everything on the menu is solid. The ingredients are consistently fresh, and the portion sizes hit that sweet spot—satisfying without being over-the-top. In a town where dining can feel overpriced or overhyped, The Big Wrap is the real deal. Affordable, consistent, and local-loved. Still one of the best lunch spots in Aspen.

Abigail and Olivia helped me so much to make a great salad! Babs the owner is great too! I always order oriental salad with chicken. So good. Highly recommend!

Google
I’ve probably been here 100 times over the past 8 years or so, so I figured it was about time I wrote this review. Simply the best cheap eats in Aspen. Babs has done us all a service by pumping out wraps for decades and I’m grateful. This place can’t close or property values will plummet. In all seriousness, it’s my favorite wrap place in the country.

Google
The food was ok... but my biggest complaint was they don't wash their hands! The guy went from handling cash straight to making a wrap! I didn't think about it until my husband brought it up while i was half way through my wrap. And then I remember staring at their sink for a while thinking it doesn't get used often. Ugh! I'm so grossed out. Also to those out there questioning. Yes they do take cards.

Google
Stellar breakfast burrito with eggs potatoes bacon and chorizo for under $10. Must be at least a pound of food in this wrap, certainly earns the name "Big". I also really appreciate an efficient assembly line; burrito was in hand 90s after ordering 🙌

Google
Very nice food! Friendly servers. I came across this restaurant when I am traveling here for 3 days. I should have gone there more! I will leave here tomorrow. But I recommend this store to anyone’s who is vegetarian or clean food holics. Also beef is also nice cooked and the “rock your world” burrito is nice! Fresh veggies!

Google
Hands down to the best Burritos I’ve ever had!! It is a must visit restaurant if you are in Aspen! You will not regret it. I personally cannot go to Aspen and leave without eating there at least once! My favorite burrito is the Chicken Pesto with Guacamole! Sooo good! Don’t forget to add the Guacamole it makes a difference ;) Second favorite is Steak Swift kick Third favorite is Chicken Thai! 4th favorite is the Hail Caesar! The staff/owner were lovely and amazing! They only accept cash!! I would love to see this restaurant grows and opens everywhere ;)

Yelp
We ended up having lunch from Big Wrap 3 days! The salad was made to order and delicious! The staff was very friendly and happy to serve you. The food is reasonably priced!!!

Yelp
One of the best wraps I've ever had in my entire life. We walked in with a long line, expecting the best. And it did not disappoint. I got a Mexican wrap for about $11 and it was amazing and held me over further beyond dinner. Highly recommend the Mexican wrap and my family members also got Smoothies and said they were delicious as well. Definitely recommend this chill but tasty, yummy spot in town.

Yelp
I had the babs-e-que wrap and it was delicious!! The service was great and everyone was very friendly! Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
For Aspen, this is an actual hole in the wall (basement) affordable lunch option. We came here after snowshoeing and got a wrap to hold us over until dinner. My husband and I split the Swift Kick wrap with steak, and got a side of chips and guacamole (very reasonably priced). The wrap tasted very fresh, albeit a little wet (I think from the salsa). Not the best wrap (honestly it was more like a burrito) that I've ever had, but it was very solid especially for the price point. It's a small shop with probably about 10-15 bar stools and seating facing the interior walls. Feels like a very local spot. Would go back here if looking for a fast-casual lunch in Aspen.

Yelp
Big wrap is always a hit! Pricey but your in Aspen Order ahead as there always busy!
google avatar

Carrie S.

Yelp
The wraps were huge! Fast service once we ordered. Crazy busy and a bit frustrating as lots of to go orders were in the mix. Waited in line @20 minutes to order. No place to sit and eat in house. Luckily it was a beautiful day to eat outside.
google avatar

Steve D.

Yelp
The main reason there is always a line out the door is that this place is super slow; they *desperately* need to revisit and streamline their ordering and payment process to make it a reasonable lunch spot during a noontime rush. Wraps are interesting and not bad, but the wraps are bogged down with lots of unseasoned bulk (rice, mashed potatoes) and lack zing. Boosting the share of fresh veg components and increasing the spice, acidity, and/or quantity of sauces could do wonders here. Nice people, very good value for Aspen.

Yelp
We arrived at 10am, and no wait, but people were already starting to come in. Tried a smoothie and turkey wrap. It was decent, and reasonably priced for the Aspen food scene. Good place for quick grab and went back to our hotel to eat

Yelp
Good size wrap, fun variety, friendly service, made quick and fresh. Great spot for a bite.

Yelp
Got the recommendation to stop here by a friend for a quick bite. My bf and I both enjoyed our wraps and it was exactly what we needed for lunch after a morning on the slopes. This a great lunch spot if you're spending the morning shopping around downtown Aspen or skiing. Very small with very few seats along the window so expect to take your wrap or salad to go. They are very filling and the menu options are a little adventurous which was a nice change from traditional wraps. Good place to add to your list if you're looking for a quick bite.

Yelp
You know any place with a line out the door has to be good. This place has so many good grab and go options - wraps/ burritos, salads, bowls, smoothies. We got two wraps - the pesto and the Thai chicken one. Very large quantities that kept us full for dinner for a fair price. The smoothie was average but good to keep up cool on a hot day. Definitely recommend for a quick lunch option! They take cash or card. ( ate our food so fast, didn't even grab a pic :/)

Frances Y.

Yelp
Delicious AND affordable. Don't the let line deter you; they are really fast! Friendly too. Best find for a family lunch in Aspen that made both our tummies and wallets happy.
google avatar

Premila M.

Yelp
They have really nice wraps, potato head and pesto wraps were delicious! The food is really fresh and good, the veggies, spicy sauce, tofu and potato were all flavorful. The service is good and the price for Aspen is great. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jennette R.

Yelp
Very yummy! Such a wide variety of wraps! Small place with not much seating but if the weather is nice there are park benches out front. Don't forget to grab a smoothie. Nice, healthy lunch spot for sure!

Yelp
Wow...just wow. I wish they had wrap places like this all over the world because I could eat here everyday. This place offered a huge selection of wraps/salads/smoothies with vegan/vegetarian options. What a gem! The "to Thai for wrap" caught my eye immediately and it was even better than I thought it would be. It had the flavor of pad Thai in a loaded burrito with jasmine rice, tofu, black beans, veggies all wrapped in a Chile tortilla. This thing was massive but I ate it all and was full the rest of the day! It had to be the best wrap I've ever had. I also tried a side of chips with the medium salad and the chips were so good! The salsa had so much corn, which I like but if you're not big on corn maybe try a different salsa. They only accept cash, but they have an atm on site. They make the wrap fresh in front of you and in record time. Not as fancy as some restaurants in Aspen, but if you're looking for a casual bite to eat this is the place!

Robyn ..

Yelp
I am not a big fan of wraps so I was a bit skeptical to try this place. I figured I would give it a try based on the reviews. I had the Garden of Eden! Oh my goodness YES! So fresh! This is one of my three favorite places in Aspen. (My other two are Clarks and Mawas completely different experience)

Ashley R.

Yelp
Great value for the area, and with great selection. The people behind the counter are nice and punctual. The atmosphere is like a legit hole in the wall, I love it.

Mike C.

Yelp
Long standing source of fresh, tasty, healthy (if you want it that way) food at reasonable prices. There aren't many places like that left in Aspen. The Big Wrap is an institution and a local treasure.

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Best lunch in Aspen, Best Price!!! The hail Caesar wrap or bowl is our favorite! Thank you for keeping part of Aspen real!

Casey K.

Yelp
When we turned the corner and saw a line filled with locals, we knew this place must be delicious. It's a small spot, order at the counter. A few chairs inside, but we took ours outside and grabbed a bench to enjoy the ambiance and people watching of Aspen. Two of us got ours as "bowls," and they weighed a ton! Totally delicious and worth the wait. Also a more economical option, particularly handy if you don't want or need a sit-down restaurant. They take cards for payment now, too. I had Babs-e-que. Others in my party had the To Thai For and the Pesto-Wrapture. We all loved them. They take cards for payment now, too.

Yelp
Super cool little place, was happy to find this type of option in the land of overpriced food of Aspen. I got the Pesto Wrapture and it was awesome. In my mind the wrap was more closely related to a burrito than a wrap but I loved it. The food here is awesome and the prices are reasonable; just remember to bring cash since it's cash only.
google avatar

Ashlyn Y.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place! We got the Garden of Eden, Citrus Corn Chips and Guacamole , and Haik Caesar. They are all so Tasty and reasonably priced. If you're looking for a healthy meal, this is your place.

Yelp
I was having a great day. That is, until I walked past The Big Wrap after a long day of boarding. I was hungry and wanted something quick. I waited patiently as the young man behind the counter made his friends free wraps and cracked racist jokes. After ignoring his dirty hands and coaxing him to avoid the wilted, rotten ingredients, I watched 2 failed attempts to create my "To Thai For" wrap, then left as quickly as I could. If only my woes ended there, after eating my wrap I was quickly consumed by horrific food poisoning that never seemed to end. After 30hrs of violence coming from both ends, I drank an obscene amount of fluids as I left Aspen and felt the first moment of relief in days, feeling defeated in ways I didn't know previously possible. I reached out to the owner, an elderly hobbit of a woman who has the misfortune of living out her miserable remaining days in the Aspen Valley. She was both unapologetic and ruthless in her response, it was obvious she had dealt with many similar complaints in the past and was not interested in the suffering she inflicted upon me. That's a wrap folks.

Yelp
I go back and forth between Wrapture and Big Potato they are amazing , great size and the quality of the food is amazing. Service was quick and super friedndly would come back again.
google avatar

Eddie Z.

Yelp
This place was super crowded for lunch, with the line stretching out the door. But it was worth the wait of around 15 minutes, because the wraps and smoothies at Big Wrap are super affordable and absolutely delicious. $9.50 wraps and under $6-7 smoothies. There's a good amount of menu items, with some very unique combinations. More than a couple of vegan options too, which was nice! FYI they are cash only, but they have an ATM inside.

Yelp
The place to get quick delicious bites in town if you don't want to fuss with reservations / long wait. The pesto chicken wrap (Pesto Wrapture) & the turkey wrap (Rock Your World) were so delicious! Also one of very few cheap eats in town - but the quality is not spared!

James B.

Yelp
Affordable wraps in Aspen?! Nice!! Also the Thai wrap was very good even though it falls apart after a couple of bites.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Favorite place for fast healthy lunch in Aspen. Call ahead or be prepared for a 30 min wait at lunchtime.

Dan R.

Yelp
Nice option for in town lunch. Fresh ingredients and reasonable prices (for Aspen). Friendly staff and convenient location

Yelp
Amazing wraps and such quality ingredients. You know it's a good spot when there's a line out the door during odd lunch hours on a MONDAY! Would love to make myself a regular here. Update - I read a review from someone who said the woman behind counter told her to go back to whatever betchy state she came from. DO NOT let THAT review impact this business. I'm sure that lady said something that upset the employee or did something that warranted that response (can only imagine in a town like Aspen). This is a family owned local joint that has a great reputation. Just remember to always be kind to those SERVING and FEEDING you. I've been here for past three days for lunch that's how awesome my experience has been.

Jj P.

Yelp
food is delicious and definitely the most affordable in the area. great food and good pricing.
google avatar

Chloe P.

Yelp
I did like the food but it was crowded and dirty. There was one other problem, it is only cash.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Big Wrap was my last food stop in Aspen and you can say I was saving the best for last! This was by far the cheapest thing I ate while in town, but also definitely one of my favorites. I went with the Garden of Eden wrap and was not disappointed. For less than $9 (cash only), I got a wrap the size of my head loaded with juicy grilled chicken, crisp veggies, tangy cheese, and lots of quinoa....it was massive and tasty! The people working here are awesome and I happily walked away with my wrap in under 5 minutes. They have a really fun menu that is perfect for lunch or a quick bite. I can't wait to explore more of the menu next time I'm in the area (a $5 smoothie in Aspen sounds pretty unheard of to me)!

Jo A.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Always busy but that's because it's always good. The staff works fast and very hard here. Make sure to tip for all their hard work. They're the best!
google avatar

Jason O.

Yelp
Friendly fast service. The smoothie was good as well. Food was able to hold me over till dinner.

Yelp
Just finished a hike and got big wrap!! It was very filling after long day of hiking! It hit the spot! The line was out the door and they had lots of take out orders. They were really busy so we had to wait a little but it was worth it. You could tell the workers were busy and were not super friendly but still nice. The wrap was a good price of about ~$10. I also got a side of guac and chips that were delicious. A very necessary meal after a long day!!

Bill B.

Yelp
We have been locals for 26 years and always loved this restaurant. Two days ago my wife bought a Thai Chicken Wrap. I had a classic case of Staphylococcal Food poisoning (I am and MD with lots of experience with food safety). My wife consumed the other half of the sandwich with the same result. Amazingly I called to notify the restaurant and they had no interest in talking to me. They said they were too busy despite my making it clear that they are making people sick. I will never go there. I understand an occasion slip up but not to discuss the issue so you can correct it? Deplorable
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
Good spot if you want something quick and tasty without having to sit and be waited on. The wraps are pretty big, I was only able to eat half which came in handy later! Know that it's cash only - they do have an ATM inside the venue.
google avatar

DG M.

Yelp
Awesome food and awesome service! Great little spot for a great bite! Good eats for reasonable prices in Aspen.
google avatar

Yelp
This is so-so. The "Mexican rice" looks pale and lacks flavor, the chicken is a bit under-seasoned, and overall I am a greater fan of Chipotle. However, for the price and convenience it isn't bad, especially for people with kids. The reason I give a "2.75" stars is because of the terrible cash-only policy and meh customer service. The femme-presenting blonde person was very friendly and is an asset for the establishment. The two male-presenting people were a little slothful in taking and making the orders, which I wouldn't mind but they seemed a bit dismissive, not helped by the condescending sign telling people to remain off their phones until they have finished ordering. But finally, it always irks me when a restaurant has a suspicious "cash only" policy and conveniently also has an ATM where they can pocket a nice $2 just for the pleasure of doing a transaction. Seriously, in 2022 when venues in New York have started to accept Venmo payments, this sort of Al-Capone-era payment dodgy-ness is eye roll inducing.
google avatar

Tessa P.

Yelp
Best place in town for lunch. Everything is delicious. My favorite is the to Thai for in a bowl. The chips are awesome. The smoothies are bangin. And you get an add on like protein or echinacea in them. The prices are awesome! And the owner awesome.
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
Easy grab and go lunch. They have enough variety of wraps to not be bored. The wraps are HUGE. I order the pesto wrap and it was yummy!
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
Writing this not really as a review, but as a message to Matt to let him know how 1 star his attitude is. How arrogant are you to come into our town as a touron and then act like you know what our small town feels like and whether Big Wrap fits. They're a goddamned legacy here, bro - a legacy of taking great care and sharing kind words with locals, and providing us with good food at great-for-Aspen prices. You felt like a number, because as a once-through asshole know it all tourist, you are one. Big Wrap, Babs and crew, much love!

Matilda M.

Yelp
My favorite place. I love it much better than any restaurants that cost you $$$. Thanks, guys!

Yelp
Arrived in Aspen after a long drive starving and ready for lunch! We looked this place up on Yelp as it was cold and snowy so we didn't want to spend a ton of time walking around looking for somewhere to eat. The place is TINY, maybe there is 6 seats to eat. It's really not somewhere you want to sit down and eat but since we had nowhere to go but our car, we chose to stay. It felt very cramped and there wasn't a bathroom available to customers which was pretty unfortunate after our long drive into town. I ordered the Mr. Potato Head wrap (a vegetarian option). The wrap was quite large but it kept falling apart and was pretty hard to consume. It was filled with a ton of food but rice, potatoes, beans just felt like a bunch of filler. I should have tried something else, so that's my fault. The chips and guacamole were very good. But I am a sucker for chips and guac so that's always my go-to!

Barbara S.

Yelp
They made my wraps and accidentally gave them to another customer . They called that customer that mistakenly took my wraps and asked them to return my wraps to the store . The employee, in an extremely rude manner , asked me to wait for my wraps to be returned and be patient. He assured be that my wraps will be brought back to the store untouched . I asked him how he knows that they will not be touched. He replied, " I know" My wraps left their shop and they can not guarantee that my wraps would not be touched. In addition, they do not tape their wraps and can be easily opened and then closed. After waiting for 10 minutes for my wraps to return , I asked for them to remake my wraps . One of the employees was upset that I asked for my wraps to be remade and he announced to the line "Sorry everyone but this lady is having us remake her wraps so we're running behind. "This boy had a bad attitude . Did they really expect me to eat wraps that left their shop and we're gone for at least 10 minutes with another customer? I was appalled that they wanted me to eat wraps that were in the hands of someone else outside of their shop and how rude this boy was.

Yelp
Looking for something light, clean, and tasty look no further. With so many to choose from in downtown aspen I think this small shop has something for everyone for all ages. Take note that they only take cash here. Located underground so can be easily missed. They're best known for their wraps but they also offer tacos and salads. There's something for carnivores and vegetarians in here. Love how they made the menu simple. All the wraps are priced the same and so are their other items just grouped into categories. There's so desserts and pastries too. I personally got the Garden of Eden which came with quinoa, grilled chicken, salsa, feta and spinach wrap. So delicious. Service is fast and efficient. Would come back here!!
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Had a berry smoothie and two wraps which were super fresh and delicious. They only accept cash but have an ATM available. There are lines and for good reason. Come hungry.

Yelp
What can I say? I love Big Wrap. My fave is Southwestern salad. So incredibly good.
