What an amazing experience! We were especially impressed with the owners of the inn. They were friendly and approachable and gave us great advice about local entertainment the night we stayed. Only 2 blocks from the Shakespearean Festival and many places to eat. We loved the decor and comfy feel of the entire place, and felt right at home the moment we got there. The plants and pond outside were a beautiful touch. Breakfast was delicious. Would love to stay here again.

We were a mother and daughter, and we received a very special welcome. The house is amazing and unique experience in itself. Everything was clean and fresh: clean towels, clean sheets, just very comfortable and pleasant. It feels like home. The hosts are so kind, warm, and family-like. They genuinely care, connect with the guests (for those who are interested), and it’s really lovely. The people in general are very kind and welcoming. It’s a really homey place, and we even connected with other guests who recommended more places to visit. There are interesting festivals in the city, and in general, the city is nice and fun to explore. Breakfast was delicious, served on beautiful dishes and special tables. The atmosphere was so warm and pleasant. Highly recommended. We slept very well, and the whole experience around it was amazing.

Our three day stay exquisite and delightful. Both Barb and Scott were excellent hosts. The house was gorgeous. Our room was the Blue Haven, based on Blue Boy. Room was well appointed with absolutely everything you would need. Breakfast was complete with casseroles, breakfast sausages, breads and cakes, juices, coffee and tea. Clean, comfortable and charming. 5 🌟

This Big Yellow Inn was a fun experience. The house is a modern day construction replica of a Victorian Home design. The home appears to be old but has modern HVAC, plumbing etc. It's filled to the brim with antiques, old and interesting items including a wonderful library and parlor. We really loved the atmosphere and would highly recommend staying there. Each morning guest are treated to a homemade breakfast where guest can literally dine together swapping travel stories. The Inn is near the Utah Shakespeare Festival and central to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks.

We only stayed one night as we were driving thru to CA. Uniquely quaint and comfortable. It feels like visiting family! Breakfast is included but we left early and missed it but it smelled wonderful as they were preparing it. The other guests were friendly.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay in the Victorian room! Scott and Barbara have a beautiful inn and are excellent hosts. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Only regret was couldn’t stay longer - will definitely be coming back!

This is just a wonderful B&B. The owners could not be nicer, the property is beautiful and beautifully appointed. The location is walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores and their rates and reasonable. I highly recommend the Big Yellow Inn. We stay there when we're driving back and forth to California and it is a great respite. Thanks! And oh - the breakfasts are to die for!

Google
This is the very best B&B I have ever stayed at. Great room, excellent service, very good free breakfast. I can't recommend this place high enough. We have stayed there many times and it seems to get better each time. The owners, the Hunts, become instant friends to all who visit.

Yelp
Lovely home with ornate decor and lots to look at. Comfy bed and all the amenities you could need! Great location in town - walking distance to shops and restaurants. We ate a centro a great pizza place but make a reservation as it is that busy! Only one disappointment-breakfast was good but nothing special. However I would definitely return!

Yelp
Who ever answers the phone is RUDE as hell and should be FIRED. He has NOP IDEA what customer service is. I tried to cancel a booking and even though it was already canceled ( i didn't know) and hemade me call and jump through all kinds of hoops just to find out it was already canceled. I, nor anybody I know will ever stay here now.

Yelp
This B&B was easy to find and centrally located. You could go to Bryce or Zion Canyon parks. We were greeted warmly by Scott and shown to our room. It was downstairs and it was called the blue Haven room. Outside of the room was the kitchen so you could put any food you might have in the refrigerator which was really convenient. We were close to two or three other rooms and you could hear everything including people upstairs. But I guess that's the way it is. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was nice and the shower pressure fine. The room was decorated in the motif of blue boy and pinky. The place was huge. Plenty of parking in the back. Breakfast Was just OK, the coffee was good and so was the toast. The egg casserole which we had basically two days in a row was not to good the 2nd day. The sausage was not hot. They had a good selection of fruit and lemon Bundt cake. Our room did get a little warm and we didn't know what to do as there was no thermostat that you could control nor a fan.

Yelp
Nothing but rave reviews for this cute bnb! Plenty of off street parking behind the house. We were able to check in late. The defor is ADORABLE. Children not recommended for a reason- many antique stuff. We stayed in the Hunter room which had a twin and a full sized bed which was perfect. The bathroom was in the room- the water temperature and pressure was exquisite. There was a kitchenette in the basement- I helped myself to tea before bed. It was lovely to sit in the upstairs library and out on the fantastic front porch. Breakfast at 8:30 am with quiche, granola, and sausage. Coffee served at 7:30 am. Wish we could have stayed here longer than one night!

Yelp
What an amazing gem this Inn is!!!! Worth booking for sights within the Inn to see and enjoy. The hosts Barbara and Scott are so pleasant and accommodating!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend you trying this establishment too! The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and so good!!!

Yelp
Stayed at the Big Yellow Inn in Cedar City. What a cool place! One block from the Shakespeare Festival. The lodging has themed rooms, 8 fireplaces, balconies, porches, and 12 themed rooms. Breakfast was delicious and the owners were wonderful. Great place to hold meetings also with a picturesque backyard.

Yelp
It's a funny place. It's like staying in your grandmother's house and she just can't stop herself from buying every nic-nac she comes across at the local flea market. It's a pretty Victorian house. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nice but not special. Since it's a converted house you can hear all the noise from the neighbors in adjoining bedrooms. Still it's nice to have an option that's different from the national chains.

Yelp
We arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a note on the back door giving access instructions. We got into our room and were overpowered by the smell of mold. Turned the AC thermometer down to get some air circulation and left the room to get some dinner. On our return the room smelled worse. We found that the AC vents were all closed, and the AC system was not working. Turning on the wall heater we were greeted with the smell of burning dust. The room had clearly not been properly cleaned for a considerable time. There was thick dust over horizontal surfaces. Towels in the bathroom smelled of mold as if they had been left in the wasing machine for a long time before drying. We were not able to contact the proprietors that night and it was too late to find an alternative. The room was uninhabitable and I had to sleep in my car.

Yelp
A warm and comfortable BandB with lots of personality. Located literally next door to the utah shakespeare festival, this bandb is homey and convenient. The inn perhaps defines the word 'eclectic' with a warm wood interior literally filled with interesting curios from all over. Remington sculptures ? Chinoise ceramics? Tiffany glass? It's got it all. Our room and a super luxurious king bed with African themed art. Breakfast was some egg frittata with Jimmy dean sausage and decent coffeecake. The owner could not have been nicer. He (Scott) handled our late checkin with ease and even hauled our luggage up the stairs without a hesitation. The common areas are great for relaxing and had we been here in the summer I'm sure we would have made use of the ample covered props at all levels. A great choice!

Craig K.

Yelp
What a beautiful place. One of a kind. The perfect place to stay. Felt very cozy and intimate. Breakfast was very excellent. Wish I had more time to explore the library longer. I would of loved to hear the stories from all of his pieces that's all around the house.

Yelp
As cute as this place is in the pictures... it was nothing to write home about. I am NOT one to ever write a negative review or complain, but I have to say something about my experience at this place. First, when we booked online through their own website they had the room rate, food tax, but not the actual price of room tax. Therefore, when we got there we paid about $10-15 more than we thought we would pay. We didn't mind, ok there is state tax they can't dictate that... but then we get to the actual stay.. We were shown to our room (the Bon Voyage), and got settled in. We went out for the night, had great access right into the back parking lot, so we could come and go as we pleased. We did love that. The first night, I slept horribly. The mattress was not supportive for me at all. I had a really difficult time getting comfortable, all through the night! I even went as far as giving it a shot to sleep on the floor because it was THAT awful for me. For awhile, the floor was more comfortable! I didn't fall asleep until around 4am and woke up so exhausted... We went downstairs for breakfast in the morning, and it wasn't as good as the reviews we had previously read wrote about. The pound cake was delicious, but the rest of it was cold and "eh". I finally decided to call Scott & tell him about the mattress. I was nervous to do so, but felt like they must really care about customer service and satisfaction.. I called Scott and asked if there was a foam topper I could put on it, if he could switch us rooms, or even just give us a partial refund so we can go elsewhere. The only response I got was uncomfortable & cold, he told me, "Well I've NEVER had a complaint about the mattresses ever! Those are the best mattresses! I can't give you a refund because I turned 3 people away today because we're full, and even if I could give you your money back, I don't have anyone to clean your room and get it ready for someone else." ...... Gee ok... so mayyybe they don't care about customer service? Seriously, no sympathy, & made it seem like it was my own personal problem so why should they care? We ended up staying since we weren't getting any help otherwise, and my wife just switched me sides to see if that'd help. It did somewhat, but it wasn't as wonderful as I expected. The next morning, didn't even ask if I slept better the second night or anything. We went downstairs for a banana and some juice, then went upstairs to pack our bags and get the heck out of there. We were thinking we'd soak every minute we had there until check out, but definitely ended up checking out earlier. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Sorry. It's cute for pics and the decorations, sure, but you can get that a lot of places for a LOT cheaper.

Yelp
this inn was spectacular to say the least !! i loved the ambiance and the magical energy that you could feel in every room ! it felt like a cozy cottage mixed with a mysterious historic museum. the owners were so kind and welcoming and i don't think it would've been possible for me to have had a better time

Yelp
Charming, romantic and just beautiful. Driving up to the house and seeing it for the first time will definitely impress you. It's like something out of an old book that you want to keep reading over and over again. Cedar City in general is pretty adorable and some of the streets that these older & newer houses are on are so beautiful. This looks like a Victorian home but it actually isn't. With that said you don't hear the creaking floors as you walk on them and you have every amenity you'd need. The owner and host Scott is also very sweet and I loved our room. Thank you Scott for the complimentary upgrade! The rooms are gorgeous with large bathrooms and we had a huge Cali king size bed which was extra plush. The decor was nautical, room #7 which is called the Bon Voyage room. There are multiple rooms to choose from and all of the public areas are just as gorgeous. You have wifi as well and tv's to enjoy in your rooms. Breakfast is included and you can sit in the beautiful dining area or take it outside which is even better. We had delicious fresh fruit, egg & bacon puff pastries that were divine, sausage, a variety of fresh juice, coffee, and other treats like pound cake and cereals or granola. Breakfast was so good! Our stay was pretty perfect and the house is exquisite. Utah has become my second home and I'll definitely be spending more time at this place. It's also conveniently located right next to the Shakespearean plays and near beautiful parks to visit and hike.

Yelp
FIRST - the photo next to the photo of the Inn is the kitchen for the first floor guests. There is a very large dining room on the main floor, and another kitchen on the top floor for those guests. Amazing location - right across from SUU, Main Street and the alley of surprises behind Main. This is our second stay this year. Both rooms we stayed in are very nice big rooms with good closets, dresser drawers and bathrooms. Beds are very comfy, not too hard nor soft. There are full kitchens on the top and bottom floors with coffee and pot, teas and kettle, oven, microwave, fridge and all the plates and utensils as well as seating. The breakfasts have been very nice, perfect assortment for a nice start to the day, good coffee, teas and juices as well. It feels like someone left you their house to stay in only better. Parking behind the inn is close to the Inn's back doors on all levels - very convenient for loading in and out. There is also a nice back garden to chill out in and enjoy the beautiful views. And, this Inn is loaded with artifacts and collectables from all over the world. You can spend a day walking from one open living space to another - drawing room, dining room, sitting rooms on each level, library and more. Sometimes you can get a peek in the other guest rooms - each uniquely decorated to it's theme.

Yelp
We had gotten weekend tickets for the Utah Shakespeare Festival and, even though we weren't looking for anything fancy for accommodations we thought this place looked different so we tried it. First off it is ONE BLOCK from the festival! Talk about convenient! It's very quaint and the decor is great, with each room having a theme. Overall a great experience. I did have to detract a star because of 1) the breakfast. We tried it the first day and the second just went out. Not impressed, really. And 2) the second night some of the other guests decided to have a "front porch party" as they called it, and were shouting, yelling, and being extremely loud until I finally stepped out into my balcony and told them off at nearly 1 am. I could handle normal conversation tones, but this was excessive, and I think they knew it because they stopped the party right away. I don't think the owners stay overnight because she didn't know about it until the next morning.

Frank K.

Yelp
Fantastic! The intricate detail that this Inn possesses is beyond words. Scott is a wonderful host. Breakfast is served in the mornings in a beautiful dining room. The rooms at the Inn have ornate dark wood banisters, trim, doors...... the list goes on and on. This is like stepping back in time, 1930's, in style and luxury! I cannot say enough good things about this Inn. I guarantee you, it's your best choice!

J K.

Yelp
i absolutely adored this bed & breakfast. easily the most beautiful room i've ever stayed in. upon arrival, my boyfriend & i were given a complimentary upgrade to the victoria room which was nicely decorated with tasteful antiques to fit the theme.. plus, a GORGEOUS red claw foot tub which we got to soak in after a long day of snowboarding. 10/10 recommend. Scott & Barbara are so sweet and the morning breakfast is so delicious. If you're a fan of unique experiences then the big yellow inn is for you!

Yelp
This is one of those places. I'll get to the inn, but first I need to mention the service, which was polite, caring and efficient. I booked the cheapest room; a queen bed with a twin. A couple days before we left on our trip the owner called and asked me if I would prefer a king in a nicer room, because another guest needed two beds. So he upgraded me for the same price to the nicer room. I then noticed the charge on my Amex was a little too high, I called him back, he was traveling but fixed the charge within ten minutes. He couldn't have been more polite. I had to call again when we got here and again he took immediate care of us, all while he was on the road traveling. The inn is gorgeous, lots of other guests have posted pictures. Its very very clean, has spacious parking in the back. The attention to detail is incredible. We stayed in Room 7, the "Bon Voyage" which has a Nantucket/nautical theme. Model sailboats, hard cover books, lots and lots of interesting nick nacks adorn the room. Room #10 has a big bathtub in the room and a fireplace. Driving to the inn is simple from Rte 15. You go through a residential area and will probably wonder, "that beautiful inn is here?", but yes it is. It's its own little universe. Breakfast was delicious, cooked and served by their daughter. An egg-potato casserole, sausages, orange juice, granola, fruit, coffee. The pound cake was very moist and flavorful. The other guests were friendly and we got into a nice breakfast conversation. I booked through hotels.com and got a good rate. If you need a place to stay and living life means more to you than a chain hotel box room with bolted down everything, then stay here. You will love it.

Yelp
Phenomenal service! Scott and Barbara, the owners, were very personable. They had great knowledge of local eateries and places to visit. We have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, but after this visit, we intend to make the Big Yellow Inn a regular destination!

Linda H.

Yelp
This B&B was fantastic. The attention to detail is impeccable. With all the old furniture, knick knacks, books, flowers & draperies I did not see even a spec of dust. This old Victorian home is beyond clean & comfortable. I would recommend staying here over a hotel anytime. Scott, the owner is friendly & very accommodating. Loved the Master Suite, perfect for our family of four. Each room has it's own bathroom! I definitely fell in love with this cute place.

Linda D.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! Breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. The bed is very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed. We will be back for sure.

Victoria L.

Yelp
This establishment is just lovely! Cleanliness is 5 stars, Service and Comfort are 5 stars, Amenities is 4 stars (as there's no workout facility), Food is 5 stars, and Neighborhood is 4 stars (only because the view from the quaint balcony is of a main street). But it is safe and pretty quiet. We didn't hear any street noise at night, only during the day. When you see the house you are convinced it's an old historic home both inside and out when in fact it's only 16 years old. The house is decorated in a combination between 1930-1950 elegant decor. The owner, builder and cook is very affable. He said he built the house 16 years ago himself. Breakfast was a combination of breakfast meats, egg casserole, fresh fruits, granola, juices, coffee and tea. Scott gave great recommendations for dinner and hikes in the area.

Yelp
My family and I have fallen in love with The Big Yellow Inn. This was our second visit to Cedar City and both times we stayed at the Big yellow Inn. It is a beautiful house with very nicely decorated rooms. Each room is decorated differently. Very tasteful. It was my husband, two daughters and myself. There are two separate rooms available for families. We have stayed at both and liked them both very much. They have hammocks in the back yard, which were a great way to relax before heading to our room. It's location is perfect because you can walk to restaurants and shops. Barbara and Scott are the owners. The put out a wonderful assortment of homemade breakfast items from 8:30-10:30. You can have your breakfast on the front porch or in the beautiful grand dinning room. Barbara and Scott remembered us from our first trip which is always special. We didn't know that a parade would be taking place on the Saturday we were there, but they gave us the details so we could enjoy the parade as a family. We were so grateful for their advice. Our stay was amazing. My youngest said it felt like we were staying with family. I couldn't agree more. If you are looking for a way to spend good wholesome family time and explore a new place, I highly recommend The Big Yellow Inn, in Cedar City!

Yelp
My Boyfriend and I rolled into town late on a Thursday afternoon. The first three Inn's we called were all booked up but one of the B&B owners of another spot suggested I call here because they had a last minute cancellation and everyone tries and helps each other out in this town. :) The Big Yellow Inn only had one review but it was good so we gave it a shot, they had one room left and it was a very reasonable price so we jumped on it! Neither of us had ever stayed in a B&B before and we really wanted to try it out! The Maintenance man was the first person we met, he was super friendly, a great first impression. He directed us inside, its a very big place. We met the Owner/Manager next, Barbara I believe. Also SUPER nice and friendly, she took us too the office up on the second floor and we got checked in while she told us about the place. There's a Library with movies, games, a computer and books of course and lots of nooks to sit and read/work, both indoor and outdoor on patios and porches, front and back yard. Our room was room #1 on the first floor, it had a Ranch theme, with cowboy hats and antiques, it was very cute and comfy. we loved the decor. our room came with an en-suite bathroom, a TV/DVD player, a linen closet with an ironing board, and a trunk full of extra blankets. In the downstairs common area there's also a little kitchen, so if you want to cook your own food there's mostly everything you'd need to do that! Very handy for those staying a few days and/or arrive late because most of the restaurants in this town are closed after 10pm (except apple bees, ihop, Denny's and some fast food places) It was very quiet the entire time we were there, though one of our favorite activities as a couple is playing a little music together (ukulele and guitar) we decided against it, not wanting to break the serenity of this place. Coming from Vegas the quiet was blissful. read books from the library and did some research for our hiking trip to Zion the next day. Breakfast was served at 8:15 the next morning, Everyone had gathered up on the second floor, It was neat to see who else was staying there. Mostly seniors. It made me excited for retirement. :) The spread was great, fresh fruit and granola cereal, apple and orange juice, sausage and a breakfast casserole, coffee and tea! We sat outside on the balcony with other couples and took in the beautiful morning. It was Glorious. Barbara took away our dishes while we ate and chatted with the guests. We checked out after breakfast, said our goodbyes to the lovely host, it was a great experience, so much cooler then staying in a motel, definitely worth spending a little extra money if you've never done a b&b before. We definitely recommend this place to anyone considering it.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the place is lovely and quaint, as I could see from the outside. BUT, here is the story: I made reservations on Hotels.com. We were traveling and I had looked at several places for a night somewhere as this would make over 600 miles of driving for one day. I thought "how lovely" for a rest and to get ready for another driving day. Unfortunately, after looking at several places the calendar on the website was changed, unbeknownst to me, which was probably my fault but I didn't see this. Instead, my reservations were for the next week, which I would be nowhere near this place by then. On the porch I rang the bell as after 5 it apparently is locked. No answer. Then I picked up the phone and called the number indicated if the bell didn't bring anyone. A man answered and I said I had a reservation and could not get in. After looking he said my reservation was for the next week. I said this would not do. I told him it was my husband, teenager and me. He said he had nothing for three. Then he said I could send you to my other property but it is a basement apartment. Now, he mentioned "but it is a basement apartment" twice. So I said, well, is it nice? At that question, he said do you want my help or not because that is the rudest thing anyone has ever said to me. Remember, I simply asked if it was nice because he had mentioned "but it is a basement apartment." Then he said you call and I am in a movie and this is the rudest statement ever made to me. Seriously? I said you know you are being very rude to me so no I do not want to stay at your property. That was that. Now, his property is NOT world renowned so there was nothing wrong with asking about whatever the basement apartment was. It is akin to asking a server at a restaurant if the chicken is as good as the steak. Besides that, excuse me?, I got him out of a movie? I thought I had reservations. Maybe he should have had someone taking his business phone calls. I have traveled the U.S. and abroad and never ever ever been treated in such a manner by any hotel anywhere. This man behaved as though he is so self important that anyine should know he has impeccable taste. Further, to treat a paying guest in such a manner is reprehensible. On that, alone, I would encourage others to not stay there, regardless of the atmosphere. Management and business owners should behave graciously towards their guests and clients. Otherwise, they do not deserve the business. Find a cutesy place elsewhere, they are around in other towns. Skip this one on the basis of simple decency. The man was rude and horrendously disrespectful.

Yelp
A typical B&B. Clean and friendly, the coffee could be better. Staying in the Mediterranean room, although it looks more English.

Elainna C.

Yelp
This is the third B&B I've been to and it's simply amazing. The design and decor are like taking a step back into the Victorian Era. The attention to detail is unparalleled. Whether you're looking for a place to stay for a weekend getaway, a romantic night away from the kids, or even an affordable staycation, this is it. It's also great for large parties to book several rooms all in one place. Thanks for the great experience Scott and Barbara!

Ryan C.

Yelp
I am a cedar city native and drive by this place all the time. Decided We would stay here on our anniversary because it was mid week. The rooms are very elegant. Each room has a different theme and is very well thought out. Owners, Scott and Barbra are great. Very friendly and really make you feel at home. Perfect location for any event at the college.

Jasmin G.

Yelp
We had such a wonderful night the Big Yellow Inn and the breakfast was scrumptious! We loved meeting the owners Scott and Barbara who designed and built this amazing inn. They've poured so much love and creativity into the place and instantly made us feel comfortable. The morning we were there, Scott, had made an egg in a puff pastry dish that we still talk about and hope to recreate with his recipe. During breakfast, his wife, Barbara, chatted with various guests and we all got to talking with each other and sharing travel stories. After breakfast, Barbara showed us around to see all the differently themed rooms and gave us a history of the place. The work and attention to detail that they've put into the place is incredible. Read the other reviews for further details. So glad we decided to stay there and we'd love to come back just to try some of the other breakfasts Scott prepares.

Jaddahti J.

Yelp
We have stayed here a couple of times while in Cedar City for the Shakespeare Festival, and were so impressed with the overall experience. The owners are as gracious and friendly as they can be, and obviously care about their guests, property and business. The rooms are so nice and decorated with lot of attention to detail, yet they are comfortable and you don't feel afraid to touch anything. I believe they cook the breakfast themselves, and the self-serve buffet changes each day and always has a nice variety of food so you can find plenty to fill up on. I was a little skeptical about staying in a B&B because I didn't want the feeling of being hovered over (guess I spent too many of my younger years dodging in and out of the blessed anonymity of the Motel 6. Wink, wink)! Here, you won't feel intruded upon at all- just welcomed. I think the fact that it's a little larger than a lot of B&B's makes you feel more like you're in a small hotel rather than an awkward guest in the house of a complete stranger. Can't think of a single downside unless you count the ghostly encounter we had there once, but that was in the property they used to operate across the street and I'm inclined to add a star for that, anyway.

Olivia G.

Yelp
Stayed at The Big Yellow Inn this weekend. Owners were very nice, our room was great, I especially loved the fireplace in our room! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Mom K.

Yelp
Great B&B. Stayed here the lat 2 years we went to the Shakespeare Festival and pleased both times. stayed in the Mediterranean room and loved the balcony. We like to sit out at night and have breakfast out on balcony too so this was perfect for us. The room was dark though but keeping the door to balcony open added light and space. This year we stayed in the Victorian room which had a small balcony that was private and very nice. The big red tub was so my friend as I need to soak nightly to ease the muscles. Bed was way to hard for me and i was so sore, but Im use to a water bed so for someone else it may be just fine. Breakfasts is served from 8:15 to 9am, personally i would like later and the menu needs to be refurbished. Very quiet here and there is a little kitchen upstairs where we kept our leftovers from dinner at Garden House , there is tea and today someone left some cake for us...nothing yesterday though so confused about this service. Very clean and owners very nice.
