BIG4 Iluka on Freycinet Holiday Park

We wanted to stay 4 nights but could only get in for 2 nights. From arriving and being greeted by the friendly receptionist who was lovely and welcoming. We had a great site 123, easy to get into plenty of room to reverse in. Wide and long enough to stay hooked up if your van isn't too big. We even had ocean glimpses. The site was grass which we prefer, close to a small ablutions block 2 toilets and two showers, the main ablutions were further away with a laundry and plenty of clothes lines, which is a good thing as they don't allow personal clothes lines. The toilets were always clean and the park was well maintained. I wouldn't have wanted to be by the bouncy pillow as the inflation mechanism was quite noisy and it was on all day. I only noticed it when doing my laundry. The park is close to the esplanade with a lovely walk to Coles beach or further into the NP. There's a little grocery store, cafe and tavern easily accessed by a path from the park. I loved the park and could have stayed there longer.

Perfect location, only a minutes walk to the beach, tavern, shop and Cafe. Beautiful long beach, never overcrowded even though campsite was busy. Even the campsite didn't feel suffocating. Lovely, friendly and welcoming staff all around. Clean and spacious cabins. Only thing was found the double bed and sofas a bit hard for our liking. Even with this we'd be back again. Kids playground was perfect for our toddler, he loved the blow up pillow/trampoline.

We had stayed once before at BIG4 Iluka on Freycinet so knew what to expect. Checkin was friendly and easy. Our 2BR cabin was a good size and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was well equipped for independent travellers. The bed was comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water. Aircon was good. Wifi was poor but we had reasonable 5G. Convenient to the beach, cafe and restaurant.

The positives: - Good location to the NP and food options (next door, with 2!). Didn't have options on which cottage we could get, so we ended up with a 6 bedder for 3 of us. - The heating in the cottage was simple to use and works (since we had a cold rainy night). - After hours check-in was simple and straightforward. - The presence of WiFi in the camp cooking area helps, as do the kids playground! Could be improved: - Size of shower for 6 bedder should have been bigger, and there's barely any towel hanging space for 3 of us. - Appreciated the heating in the main bed room, but the bunk beds should have that too!

We were only here for 12 hours having arrived late into the evening and leaving by 10am checkout. Booked it through Hotels.com. The communication with the property on the run up was very good. Reception closes at 6. We informed them of our late arrival and instructions were emailed to us how to get our keys. This proved very smooth and faultless. The cabin we had was very good. Very clean and well equipped for basic self catering. Each cabin has space for one car. There is no WiFi in the cabin but there is WiFi in a communal area close by. Coles Bay has a couple of small supermarkets that meets needs. You are also just a five minute drive from the entrance to the national park. Our biggest regret is that we couldn’t stay longer in Coles Bay but if we did, there is no doubt that our stay at Big4 Iluka would have met our needs. Would definitely recommend it.

Powered site was located close to camp kitchen, the high kerb for reversing caravan was a nuisance but managed. Staff in reception were exceptionally good, professional and friendly. Amenities were very clean. Camp kitchen was well set out. Laundry had plenty of washing machines and dryers. Definitely recommend others to stay here.

We stayed in a 6 bed cabin, it was clean and tidy but definitely is getting old. The lounge/dining area isn't very big and the seating wasn't very comfortable. Excellent location, close to Freycinet National Park, beautiful swimming beaches.

Recently, we stayed at the BIG4 Iluka on Freycinet Holiday Park. Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They gave us maps and pamphlets of things to do around the area. Great location with the Beach, Shops, Café and a restaurant within walking distance. The cabins were clean, neat and tidy. We stayed for two nights. We had to shift out of our Cabin (My Fault due to booking error) to another Cabin. The staff were very understanding and helpful. I would recommend this park to anyone travelling around Tasmania.
