BIG4 Launceston Holiday Park

The Team have done a fantastic job providing a quality accommodation option for travellers here. Located close to town, with great accommodation options from campsites to self-contained cabins, while still changes are being made to the site this was a very pleasant stay for us travelling in 2x family groups. The only issue was the closeness to the freeway, which wasn't significant, but did generate some background noise. Otherwise fantastic!

Firstly the staff are lovely and this review is not a reflection on them. They are all doing their job well and are friendly and helpful. We left after one night and after discussing the below issues the owners refunded the second night which was much appreciated. The positives: - Close to town - Large, light filled and clean toilets and showers - Fun jump pad for kids - Large laundry with plenty of machines The negatives: - The complete lack of an appropriate camp kitchen: it’s not enclosed, has one each of a tiny stove, tiny microwave and small kettle. - Only 2 picnic tables / eating areas - The laundry is only coin operated: not many people carry cash these days! And after hours it becomes impossible to change any money - The price is extremely high for a powered site This place caters for cabin users. You will note that ALL the glowing reviews are from people who booked cabins. If that is what you’re booking you’ll have no complaints as you’ll have a kitchenette, space to eat both inside and outside your cabin etc. However a Big4 site needs to cater to campers as a primary focus rather than as an afterthought. The map notes ‘A new camp kitchen is being built’. Until it is, the price for sites (not cabins) should be halved.

We received notification early that our cabin was ready and we could arrive. The 2 bedroom cabin on the hill was lovely. Walking distance to city, close to cataract gorge and places to eat. Short drive to airport. Cabin was very clean and looked new. A nice welcoming hand written note awaited us. Would certainly stay here again.

We only stayed 1 night but from the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly. The park was very well kept. I really appreciated the Tasmanian products & gifts in the reception area. The location was great, close to everything we wanted to see the next day. I'd definitely go back & stay again

Stayed here for three nights in a City Villa. The lady who greeted us at check in was very friendly and helpful. The villa was lovely and clean and had everything we required. The bed was very comfortable. Good location despite being close to a very busy road. Well kept grounds and amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Big 4 Launceston Holiday Park recently while travelling around Tasmania. This would have to be one of the best Big 4 Parks we have ever stayed at. Right from arrival, the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The lady at the front desk suggested, for a small fee we could upgrade to one of the Hilltop Cabins. We took her up on her offer and were so glad we did. The Hilltop cabins are amazing. Very modern, high standard, very clean and well maintained, not to mention the view. The kitchen was well equipped, along with the rest of the Cabin. If anyone is travelling around Tasmania, this Big 4 Park is by far the best one and a must visit. Thank you to everyone at Big 4 Launceston Holiday Park for making our two nights stay a very memorable experience. We will definitely be staying at your park again, on our next trip.

Really enjoyed our stay here, thankyou. We had a really beautiful clean cabin with a bathroom and kitchenette, perfect for us travelling with a baby. They had a baby bundle available which included cot, linen, highchair and bath which took the all hassle away in finding this elsewhere. All the staff were lovely and friendly 😀 Thanks so much.

A great base to do all the touristy activities. The cabin was modern, with all the facilities you could need. Friendly staff, clean and neat accommodation. Thank you for our stay
