BIG4 Opal Holiday Park

Warm welcome on arrival. Boom gate for security. The park is basically a very large gravel site subdivided into plots. The ground is very hard for putting pegs in - the office can help! No shade to talk of so be aware of sun position. Good pool to cool off with under-cover seating/kitchen area complete with gas pizza oven. New amenities that are very clean. We opted for an ensuite site which was fine. The artesian pool is just a few minutes walk from the park. Very quiet with excellent night sky viewing. Approx 2kms out of town but great spot to explore the area by car. If you are OK going down stone steps into a mine - You MUST go to the Chambers of the Black Hand! One man's work creating a unique experience

We stayed 3 nights on a powered, ensuite site. The ensuite was spacious, modern and clean. Our check-in was friendly and professional. Lightning Ridge is an experience like no other. Highly recommend the self guided ‘door’ drives which highlights the history and resilience of the opal miners. Probably the best of these drives is the Orange door drive. The public bore pool is only 200m away from the park.

It was good other than the dump point was over flowing. If not for sewage issues, I would have rated at five stars. Ensure site was great. Clean. In good condition. Great shower pressure. Sites were drive through which is always easier. Great place to stay when visiting Lighting Ridge and would happily stay there again.

A great caravan park with huge drive through sites. The park is very well maintained with immaculate amenities and camp kitchens. We liked the location, feeling safe, being a very short drive from town and 200m walk to the Artesian Bore Baths. The park pool was a welcomed relief on those very hot Lightning Ridge afternoons. Whilst it was a little bit pricey it was certainly worth it!

Park was a good place to stop in Lightning Ridge. Site was big and level. Bathrooms were used were public ensuites that were pretty clean considering how many people use them. Camp kitchen was well equipped. ||Only things I would say against is kids wanted playground. A shade over the pool and some extra seating within pool area would have been nice.

We enjoyed the spacious and tidy caravan site ( even each site has its own bins that is emptied daily ), the clean and modern amenities, helpful staff. To have a pool was blessing on hot days. Highly recommend this park.

The main amenities block at BIG4 Opal Holiday Park is fantastic and sets the standard for all caravan parks. The site was generous and level, making it very comfortable. The pool could use a deeper clean and some extra shade, but we only stayed one night; next time we’ll definitely allow more time to enjoy everything!

The Big 4 was a wonderful experience. The cabin was a great size,everything was very clean,very affordable,everything you need. Pool and bbq facilities were excellent,it's a 200mt walk to the artisan baths,which was fabulous after a big day of checking out all there is to offer and lots of walking and some fossicking.The caravan park is close to all tourist attractions,which was great,and having a courtesy bus to transport to Bowls club( great food and cold drinks)was the best,highly recommend the Big4😊
