BIG4 Strahan Holiday Retreat

We booked a cabin. It was beautiful! Clean, neat, everything we needed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The laundry room clean and neat. The dryer actually dried my clothes well! We will definitely be back to ride the train. The Gordon River premium cruise was excellent!!

Some of the cabins are a bit daggy but ours was fine. Bed and living area sofa were comfortable, heating worked, bathroom was clean and kitchenette area was good. Bottlo around 50m away which was quite handy. No complaints from me but it's luck of the draw as to what your rooms will be like as people travelling with us had cabins that were noticeably rougher than ours. Bottlo closes early so get in quick. Also there's a deli next door that does burgers and stuff.

We had a powered gravel site and it was perfect for our needs. It performs at good 3 star level. It’s not intending to be fancy. It’s clean. The staff are helpful and regularly cleaning bathrooms. It was cheap and sufficient

This was a wonderful break in a what had been a busy had fast paced holiday. It was comfortable, relaxed and allowed us to commute by foot rather than driving everywhere. It's a beautiful spot for a quiet getaway and technology break. I appreciated the heater being left on for our arrival. We had a 4.5+ hour drive from Hobart prior to this accommodation in high winds. It was nice to arrive to something comfortable rather than freezing. Thank you also for the staff kindly providing an additional towel as requested. The inclusion of an airing rack in the cabin was also appreciated, we get soaked. That rack was put to good use.

Lovely friendly staff who tried to find us a cabin that wasn't extremely musty 🤮 3rd one didn't smell as bad. No fly screens on any sliding doors that I could see and screens only on 2 small windows in cabin so hard to get fresh air into cabin to get rid of smells. Apart from that very clean and nice crisp white bedsheets. I think we are cured from ever staying in caravan park again - one a Freycinet had a lingering poo smell but much better maintained cabins.🤦‍♀️🤣

A very large park. Stayed in a cabin. Cabin was a bit cramped but area is very well landscaped. Position is great, just 700m via a level waterside walk to the hustoric town centre and the Gorden Ruver cruises.

Stayed in one bedroom cabin. Cabin was well equipped and clean. Beds were warm and cosy over a cold and rainy spell in mid Nov. Location was spot on and only about 15 minutes walk into town. Apart from the cabins section, the kitchen and toilet facilities in the RV section is very very basic, small and dated. Hence do not think it's a place for camping.

Stayed in cottage 56. This was obviously once a house and it felt removed from the rest of the park. Very old and dated. Loads of dead ants on the kitchen counter when we arrived and the outdoor setting was filthy with dust and cobwebs. Needed to clean both before using. Stove was difficult to use even with the instructions provided. Towels were small and thin. Small bar heater in bathroom did virtually nothing and the bathroom was feezing. Shower was great with good water pressure. Bed was okay. Everything looked old and dated. Smelt musty and needed a good airing. Cannot check in until 3pm and if they are short staffed it may be even later than that ... still have to check out at 10 though! Surprised this is a Big 4 and would not recommend staying here.
