BIG4 Strahan Holiday Retreat

Our stay was comfortable. We stayed in the big house and there was plenty of room for the kids to spread out. Whilst clean enough it definitely needs some maintenance and a good update! Was expensive for the type of accommodation provided. Park facilities bordering on gross. Am surprised Big4 have put their name to this place.

Strahan is a strange town, parking in town cost $10 no wonder the shops are closed and town w many for lease vacant places. I suppose the salmon cheap labour stays here in the dorm but the ventilation is bad in kitchen and most windows don't open properly nor have fly nets. One window even has a blackberry plant growing from the outside into it. 4 shared bathroom and toilet combo for so many tourist and dorm rooms no one can get a shower before sailing nor train. All very chaotic

Booked a lovely cabin, we ended up in a box. It was cleanish, bathroom shower has lots of mould, so did the corners in the bathroom. Shower had no where to put your own shampoos or soap. Towels were tiny no face washers very cheap standard. Kitchen had tea and coffee sachets with sugar, that’s it not a salt or pepper shaker to be seen. Internet was terrible and was cutting in and out all the time. Bed was a full size queen, very comfortable with good pillows. Would I stay again? No lots of other nicer properties around for the same expensive price. We came for the Gordon River Boat Tour, that was fantastic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not up to the standard of a normal Big 4 caravan Park. Not suitable for disabled people as they have large rock roadways. Furniture in the cottages needs to be replaced urgently, mattress on bed extremely old type inner spring, lounge was a sofa bed which collapsed everytime you sat on it. Not air conditioned, you certainly need it in hot weather. Smoke alarm was missing off the ceiling. Very disappointed, not worth what you pay per night.

Booked a Budget Cabin as it was the only accommodation available. It was clean and tidy but very dated. The whole Park was in desperate need of a make over. Gardens over grown and facilities outdated. I guess it's supply and demand as there's very few options in peak season in Strahan. Average at best

Stayed on a powered van site. There is no dump point at this park. First time I’ve experienced that. Toilets and showers in desperate need of renovations. The plastic toilet seats were so old and scratched. It wouldn’t be that hard or expensive to at least replace with new ones. Disappointing.

Most disturbing place I’ve stayed in. So glad we only stayed for one night. The reception lady was rude & judgmental. Our rooms smelt awful, the walls had holes/gaps in them. Outside was dirty, unkept & trees were falling on our cabin Genuinely felt so unsafe at this place. The Only good thing was the affordable alcohol next to reception!! Edit* I can’t reply back to the accommodations comment. We stayed here weeks before I made this post so as I’m sure this storm was an awful experience & I hope all is well, we did in fact stay before that even happened

Stayed here at a powered site in campervan. Facilities are decent, but very outdated and need refurbishment. They have hot showers, toilets, free wifi, power and fresh water.
