BIG4 Tasman Holiday Parks - Rowes Bay

Worth the stay. Great location straight across from the beach and not far from the main waterfront. We stayed two nights on different dates. The first night we stayed in the standard studio cabin (shared bathroom). This cabin was pleasant surprise. Although we didn't have a ensuite, the large room with bunkbeds made the kids happy. The second night when we stayed in the ensuite studio, I had one issue with this room, the blinds didn't line up properly and the sun in the morning was really bright hitting the pillow I was laying on so there was no chance of sleeping in. Both rooms were very clean. I did however have an issue with trying to get into the shared bathroom, on the fourth go putting in the code I managed to get in the bathroom, not good if you are urgently needing to go to the bathroom like I was that night. Staff were helpful. Both times was easy to check in. There are many accommodation options suitable for your budget. We will definitely be staying here again.

Feedback About Our Recent Stay at Tasman Holiday Park Townsville We recently stayed on a Small Powered Campervan Site with our small dogs and overall had a very pleasant experience. The site itself was great and well-suited to our needs. However, the toilet and shower block could benefit from some improvements. A new epoxy floor coating would greatly enhance hygiene, and several of the door locks and handles need attention. A fresh coat of paint would also help give the facilities a cleaner, more inviting appearance. We also booked a Standard Cabin, and unfortunately this part of our stay was disappointing. The cabin was not clean and the air-conditioner was extremely loud, resulting in very little sleep for my wife and the kids. Considering the condition of the cabin, we felt the price was far too high for the standard provided. We hope this feedback is helpful, as we would love to see these issues addressed for future guests.

We stayed in an ocean view deluxe 2 bedroom villa, which was beautiful and clean. They turned our aircon on prior to our arrival and on such a hot day was very much appreciated. The guys at the front desk when we arrived are absolutely lovely and welcoming, more than happy to answer my random questions and have a laugh. All the staff here are amazing, happy to help and nothing is ever a drama, the team are always around cleaning the park, amenities were immaculate as was the pool and BBQ areas. There is a well equipped little convenience shop located at the office. Right across the road from the water and kids park which most mornings has a food truck doing coffees and bagels. Amazing park, Amazing location and an Amazing team. Thank you our stay was great and we look forward to stopping in again in the near future ☺️

This Holiday Park whether for a short visit or long visit, work or play, is the best Park I have ever stayed at before. The staff are the best and the amenities by far the cleanest and well maintained. Just over the road is the servicemans memorial park and right on the beach. I will recommend to all this is a must place to stay when in Townsville. Cannot wait to return. Brad

Booked a powered site for 6 nights at the Tasmania big 4 caravan park at Rowes Bay. Night 3 our caravan was broken into and our keys taken and our Ute was stolen from the site. The entrance of the park had 3 boom gates. One we booked on and it was open the whole time we were there and even after the theft. The other needed a PIN number to enter? The other the exit boom gate just had to drive up to and it would open. At the back of the park there was a set of double gates which was also open and that is were our Ute was taken out of. There was a house at the back that found some of our property thrown from our Ute and then sped off. The park has 17 cctv cameras and not one picked up anything. The make manager had no empathy and we were even told the site we were on was booked the following Thursday and we will need to get our van off there, but we can store it down the back for free. We had some more belongings thrown out of the Ute about 15 minutes away and also picked up by someone who rang us since there was a lot of paperwork with our belongings after being on the road for 2 moths. My wife asked if he could give us a lift to pick it up. We had to wait until he had time. He has said since as a goodwill gesture he helped. Notwithstanding our we had our van broken into while we were asleep and the Ute stolen from his park. The management didn’t care and after talking to others in the park , there has been a lot of break ins and car stealing from this incompetent park. Why have boom gates and cameras if you are not going to use them. I would not recommend this park. Dangerous. There was a knife left in our annex by the thieves. Later caught after more than 10 break ins with our vehicle. Just read the reviews on FB. Arrogant and abusive.

It was a very bad experience. I thought the price was very expensive for what they offer. The price varies depending on the day, and even they aren't clear about how much it costs. The man at reception was very rude and even disrespectful. The bathrooms were a disaster, usually dirty, and there was no hot water in the showers. They have very large bathrooms with many showers, but they are unusable because the water is cold. This didn't just happen to me; from shower to shower, we guests asked each other if we had hot water, and at different times of the day. I went at midday, in the afternoon and at night, and it was always the same problem. The only bathroom with hot water is the one next to the pool. It's the smallest and most neglected. The toilet paper is of very poor quality. The covered kitchen was generally dirty and full of flies. It is very small for the number of guests it has, and the refrigerator they have is not big enough; it does not even reach the temperature it should for the amount of food it holds. They should definitely add another refrigerator. I have even had food go missing that I left in the refrigerator. We have found people sleeping on the sofas in the kitchen. The other outdoor kitchen is full of mosquitoes, and I had a terrible time. I had dinner there one night and woke up the next day covered in bites. They should fumigate more often or find a solution so that guests don't have this problem. The place has poor security. The entrance gate hardly ever worked. The site without electricity that they gave us was very uneven, it wasn't level, which made it very uncomfortable to be in a tent. The water in the pool was very cold. You can't enjoy it. The only good thing about it is the location.

Very disappointing stay. The park was extremely dirty — far below the standard you expect from a BIG4. Facilities were poorly maintained and several didn’t work at all, which completely ruined the experience. Customer service was just as bad. Staff were unhelpful and dismissive when issues were raised, and there was no real attempt to fix anything or offer a solution. It felt like complaints were simply ignored. For the price charged, this place is not worth it. The photos and reputation do not match the reality. I have photos to back up the condition of the facilities and cleanliness. Would not recommend and definitely won’t be returning.

We stayed in an Ocean Villa at the Tasman Holiday Park Rowes Bay and had an absolutely fantastic time. The check-in staff were first-class – very friendly, attentive, and full of helpful tips for nearby attractions in Townsville. We especially recommend visiting “Little and Big Creek” – a beautiful experience! We will definitely be back. 🌴✨
