The location of this caravan park is fantastic, with the beach just across the road and close proximity to the city and essential amenities. In the past, our stays here have been wonderful, making it a place with great potential.
There has clearly been a significant decline or change in management. The accommodation was dirty, with thick dust, old rubbish, and used soap found under the beds. The dishes that were in the cabin had dried food still on them and required cleaning before we could use them. The bbq was still uncleaned after its last use and was caked with grease and burnt food. Marks and stains on the walls in the toilet clearly showing they had not been wiped over prior to our stay. An employee aggressively approached our vehicle with a leaf blower after we mistakenly entered through the boom gate due to poor signage. Additionally, the reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive.
The dismissive attitude of the staff was a significant issue during our stay. On multiple occasions, we encountered a complete lack of engagement and a general unwillingness to assist guests. When my children approached the reception to inquire about renting fishing rods and tennis racquets, the staff member didn't even bother to look up from her phone, providing a curt "uh no" before returning to her screen, effectively ignoring them. Although the booking was booked for 6 guests there were only 4 towels in the cabin and when additional towels were requested they advised that there was none available until the following morning after laundry had been done. No apology or care was shown at the inconvenience of this nor were additional towels bought to us when they had said they were available and when we enquired again, we were met with dismissive responses and a clear unwillingness to help.
Furthermore, our requests for a late checkout and to extend our stay were handled with similar indifference. Despite the park appearing to have available spots online and over the phone, we were told the park was fully booked and that we needed to leave promptly. This lack of flexibility and the dismissive manner in which these requests were handled left us feeling undervalued and unimportant as guests. It was clear that the staff were either poorly trained or simply did not prioritize customer service, which significantly detracted from our overall experience at the park.
