Lovely site & great location!! BEST kitchen facilities yet !!! Lovely showers (female and male block which was lovely). Toilets were coded which felt very safe as a female. 10/10 for cleanliness throughout. Only thing is that our first site was extremely small/ tight to drive into (not the end of the world).

Sites are large and in great location to beaches, parks, bike tracks and the strand. Would have been ideal if the reception staff did not allocate us a camper van size site for a 9m caravan. The size of the van was explained both on the phone while booking and again in the office upon arrival, where we were assured there would be plenty of room. There wasn't, however we were allocated another site fairly quickly. Too bad if it had been fully booked when we arrived. It is a busy park. Cold showers in rear ladies amenities block both times that I used the showers. One late in the evening and the other in the afternoon. There are 3 laundries with only 2 working driers over the whole park, which are at a premium for this large park. 1 at rear laundry was broken. Boom gate broken. The park is very expensive at around $70 per night. Grounds and gardens ver pretty. Toilets clean.

The caravan park is located cross the road from the beach. The amenities were ok. Kitchen pretty new and plenty of space. Laundry $6 a load. The kitchen and bbq area were close, but toilets and showers were far, bit of walk in the night (in the dark, not much lights at all) when i need toilet. Our camp site was not really suitable for a tent, very uneven and no grass.😢 We didn't have shade at all. Can be noisy sometimes do to the airport close by. We've spend a day on Magnetic Island, and to get to the port and come back we use the bus from outside the Caravan Park!

Nice park. Plenty of trees. Showers were cold too often. No hot water. We expect hot showers no matter what we are paying per night - and when paying a premium rate a cold shower is unacceptable. Not the only Tasman park with a hot water problem in 2025. Pleasant reception staff were clueless when advising the best approach to caravan sites - and when it was later pointed out (very diplomatically) to them - they seemed disinterested.

We recently stayed at Rowes Bay BIG4 Caravan Park and honestly, it was one of the best holiday park experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality, and it set the tone for our entire stay. The location is unbeatable—right across from the beach with stunning views of Magnetic Island, and just a short drive into the heart of Townsville. The grounds were immaculate, the facilities clean and modern, and everything was beautifully maintained. You can really tell the team takes pride in the park. What made our stay truly exceptional, though, was the manager. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Whether it was offering local recommendations, helping us settle in, or just checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, their attentiveness and kindness did not go unnoticed. It’s rare to feel this looked after on holiday—it honestly felt like a home away from home. Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer stay, we can’t recommend Rowes Bay BIG4 enough. We’ll definitely be back!

We recently stayed at this park. We were allotted site 21 in the non powered section at the back of the park as there were no powered sites available. In my opinion the only difference in these sites should be the lack of power and water. The sites were VERY uneven, in long grass and very near the dump point and the rubbishy part of the park. In fact the whole park was very much in need of some water, lawn mowing, tree pruning and green waste cleanup. The amenities were average and the clothes line area was overgrown and covered in litter. We paid premium prices for sites that we wouldn’t have chosen even at a free camp. And got eaten by sandflies. Such a shame. It has great location and has the potential to be amazing.

Only one downside and that's the distance to the amenities - but that does depend on where you're located. Beautiful grounds, spotless amenities and large clean indoor kitchen. Being across the road from the waterfront is great for a pooch walk. Definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the park on a powered van site. It was a tidy park, very busy comings and goings. The site C1 we had was nice except the kids playground was right behind it. I would think the sites around the playground would be better suited to families and not couples with no kids. I don't really want to be sat around a kids park trying to relax with screaming kids around me. Hence we are going to a child free park in mission beach. Maybe a bit more consideration as to where they put the guests.
