BIG4 Tassie Getaway Parks St Helens

Absolutely fantastic park- sets a new high bar. Staff are lovely but the true standout is the feel of the park. Our youngest said she wanted to move in- people staying all seemed to be warm and friendly and welcoming. The price for powered sites is very reasonable. Camp kitchen is huge with its own bathrooms and attached tv room for kids. Also has a roofed area with pizza ovens which we’ll try next time. Games room has arcade machines and a baby soft play area plus a tv and loads of books for all ages of children. Bouncing pad is from 8am to dusk and huge- big kids would jump on one side so littles could fly high - lots of fun. Only suggestions to make it even better- credit card facilities for laundry- who carries cash these days?! On the other hand I did have lots of conversations while walking around seeing if anyone could change my note. Also recycling bins - I really really don’t like binning bottles, cans and cardboard. Regardless we’re planning our next stay!

Mixed experience; the pros: evergreen sites are nice and level, and plenty spacious. Camp kitchen clean and well equipped. Complientary foot towels are a nice touch. Cons: evergreen sites are on the only unpaved road on-site which creates a lot of dust. It doesn't help that noone follows the 5 km/h speed limit along it either. Bumps and more signals might help. Camp kitchen is not centrally located so can be a bit of a walk. Some "sites" being used while we were there probably shouldn't be - no 1 is a case in point right backing right on to amenities block and facing jumping pillow - best avoided. Unpowered camping area at the top of the park is highly sloped- also best avoided. It's a decent location for access to waterfront and St Helens, but expensive for what it is.

This is such a pretty little park in a convenient place. The beauty of the area is reflected in the wonderful presentation of the cabins. I greatly enjoyed my time here. It was a very pleasant break between long windy roads. We spent quite a bit of time around our cabin reading on the comfortable furniture or enjoying the weather on the decking. The staff were polite and helpful though I had little interaction with them. I appreciate the sweet gift for Big4 members.

Very clean right through the cabin. Customer service fantastic. Loved staying 4 nights before driving to Devonport Spirit of Tasmania. The IGA groceries fresh stock daily. Very clean, very friendly customer service & the local very friendly. Affordable & excellent prices for Pensions & members of Big4. This is a must to stay in when on holiday

Stayed on a powered site. A great caravan park. The best I’ve stayed in in Tasmania. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully kept grounds. Amenities are modern and clean . Camp kitchen is well equipped, big with toilets. Sites are a good size and easy to manoeuvre into. Good value for money. Highly recommend.

The location is about 1km outside of the centre of town. The walk is beautiful along the waterfront which is also a bike trail. Plenty of great food options in town and supermarkets. The cabins are nice, the bedrooms were small but everything is clean and comfortable. Great camp kitchen, pizza oven, cooking facilities etc. Would definitely stay here, in St Helens rather than the surrounding areas as I felt there was more to do without having to drive.

We stayed at the big 4 St Helens and cannot fault the park at all. The facilities were modern, clean and well maintained. The site itself was fantastic and the staff were so accomodating. The kids loved the games room and jumping pillow. We booked the luxury ensuite site which was incredible! We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the park and can’t wait to come back soon.

We had a great stay, the rooms are modern and the bed was very comfortable. Parking for large vehicles are next to each cabin and the kitchen came fully stocked with all the accessories we needed and was very clean. The park is a haven for small kids and the staff were very good with their local knowledge. While our stay was short it was enjoyable and peaceful and we would have no hesitation in recommending them.
