Bigfoot Tours

As a resident of Botswana, I expected better. My experience with Big Foot Tours was frustrating from start to finish. I made full payment and sent proof, yet they claimed I hadn’t paid. The communication and service were poor, and the staff showed little effort to resolve the issue. The pricing is completely disproportionate to what you get. On top of the expensive camping fees, when you arrive at the CGKR gate, you’re charged extra per person, per night, with no proper warning or breakdown upfront. To make matters worse, the roads to the campsite are in very bad condition and clearly not maintained — especially considering the high prices they charge. I honestly feel sorry for international travelers who experience this. There are much better options in Botswana. I strongly recommend saving your money and heading to Kasane or Maun, where you'll get far better service, facilities, and value for money. I won’t be booking with Big Foot Tours again.

Incredibly helpful people. Patiently helped me book three nights in the Central Kalahari at very short notice over WhatsApp then when we went into their offices to pay the invoice the same lady spent an hour with us providing contact details for many other campsites and calling them to check availability for us. She said she just wanted to help us have a great trip. Thank you!

Unfortunately if you want to book a campsite in the Central Kalahari you have to do so through BigFoot Tours. We booked three nights for two different sites. E-mail response from BigFoot was slow and it turned out impossible to pay the invoice. Even made an expensive phone call from Europe in order to provide our cc details. We left for our trip uncertain if the reservation would come through. With the help of Muchenje campsite we managed to pay for our booking once we were in Botswana. Interestingly it only took a few minutes by phone! The nice thing about camping in the Central Kalahari is the solitude since you will have the entire site to yourself. Unfortunately when we arrived at our first site we found it already occupied by a small tour group. As it was BigFoot just double booked the site several days after we finalized our booking. We have no idea how BigFoot organizes it’s other tours and services but we would not recommend doing business with them.

Just mafia overcharging visitors for terrible services. They took over some campsites from DWNP and without investing a penny in infrastructure charging 10 times more.

Thieves!!using the fact that you are a tourist and that you do not know which Campsite you make booking and charge an excessive and disproportionate price. Campsite is neglected, dirty and insecure (we woke up in the morning and saw three lionesses inside the neighboring Campsite).

They do not respect their own cancellation policy, do not refund and this after more than 2 years of requesting it.

Service was good at the office we could do the booking and pay.
