This place has been around for years now and there's good reasons why. The food is amazing and diverse. Their talent in the kitchen is met with its equal behind the bar. Not only is the quality near perfect, it is special. It is one of a very few places I've been that serves venison with the same respect and quality reserved for the finest cuts of beef. They also continue to evolve their menu. They do not stand idly by, waiting to be out done. They adapt and change, welcoming each season with fresh ideas. I've been coming to the Festival for more than a decade now and we've always eaten here when we come, but Bijou alone is reason enough to come to Stratford.

This was my first time in Stratford and I have to say that Bijou is an absolute must if you’re coming through. The escargot was so unique and flavourful, the bread was so fresh and soft, and the duck confit was to die for! Additionally the staff was beyond welcoming and kind. This was the perfect meal for our Thanksgiving weekend. Highly recommend!

Some restaurants have the atmosphere but not the food; others have the food but lack atmosphere. Bijou delivers it all: creative, beautifully presented dishes, in a lovely setting, served by good natured and knowledgeable staff. Make it a late dinner and enjoy live music from any one of a wide lineup of talented local and regional artists. Bijou is special. Really appreciated their easy accommodation of dietary needs - low carb? Keto? Carnivore? Paleo? You are welcome here.

Inventive food of a high quality. Not inexpensive but the use of local ingredients is noted and appreciated. I'd rather pay 25% more for Perth County pork, beef, etc. than save 25% had the restaurant used Gordon Food Services wholesale supply meat. Raspberry gazpacho was fun but a bit too spicy; I like spicy but I wanted to taste more of the summer raspberry flavour. The crispy duck with wild berries, nuts, flax seeds was fun and rustic. Presentation was nice

Super kind and helpful wait staff who are extremely knowledgeable about their menu. And what a menu, incredibly well crafted dishes with intentionally paired both intuitive and unintuitive pairings on plates. A stellar wine selection and great house cocktails. Honestly you can't go wrong here. Well worth the price without a doubt. We had the Spanish octopus over scallop sausage, the deep fried enoki mushrooms, cheese dumplings and the scallops with potatoes. We'd order it all again in a heartbeat if there weren't so many other enticing dishes on offer to try.

Great item on the menu, service was very nice, and great location in town. I do think there are small improvements that would make this place stand out a bit better, so hoping the owner keeps looking for ways to improve.

The bread was dry, almost like a day or two old sourdough. The mozzarella and squash was the best dish we had. The mains were decent but nothing unique. Overall just a pretty average restaurant. Nothing really special and for the price, I’d go somewhere else.

We didn’t have reservations but decided to see if they had space on a busy Friday and they happily welcomed us to seats at the bar. We don’t drink but they had a large selection of non alcoholic beers and cocktails. The bartender was amazing. He was one of the highlights of our night. He was funny, so nice to talk to and gave us great menu recommendations. We shared an appetizer and both got steaks. They were both cooked perfectly how we like them. It was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. The wait staff was amazing too, we didn’t have dirty dishes or empty drinks infront of us for very long before they were cleared and filled. We’re already planning on when to come back next.
