Bikkuri Donkey Dotonbori

On 10 Sept, 2025, my wife and I had brunch here. This is the first time we frequented this chain outside of Hokkaido. We were seated in the basement. The few four seaters on I/F have nice views of the canal.

Last night, my friends and I dined at Bikurri Donkey with a party of nine. While the food was quite good and the robot server was a fun and novel touch, the service left a lot to be desired. Because of the size of our group, seven of us sat in a booth with an extra chair, and the remaining two were seated at a nearby table. The issue began when we received our bill — both tables (Table 32 and Table 33) were charged the exact same amount: 15,065 yen each. In other words, we were double-charged for our entire party’s meal. When we brought the issue to the staff’s attention, we were met with indifference rather than concern. Eventually, they corrected the charges to reflect the proper totals for each table, but no one apologized or took responsibility for the mistake. To be clear: the restaurant was not busy, and five of the nine people in our group spoke Japanese fluently, so communication was not the issue. If you plan to dine here, double-check your bill before paying. Even if you don’t read Japanese, you can count the number of items to ensure the total matches what you ordered. Good food, but disappointing customer service.

Lured in by Hamburg steak pictures. Food was up to par, not a luxury deal. Seated with no wait for party of three..got a booth, quiet and nice. Order was thru a tablet on the table, with option for English language. Very easy to understand. Aside from not realizing the meat would come with onions, all was fine. Water was refilled timely, payment was made by taking the order ticket and paying via machine towards the entrance/exit. No issues! (We didn't realize it was a family restaurant until later)

​Bikkuri Donkey is an excellent choice for a satisfying and great-tasting meal that offers fantastic value. The signature hamburger steaks are juicy and flavorful, living up to the chain's reputation. ​However, as other reviews have noted, the service staff were not up to par. While the food is a definite five-star experience, the poor service unfortunately detracts from the overall visit. Come for the delicious food and low prices, but prepare for potentially lacking table service.

The portion size was much larger than I was expecting for ¥1,550. I went in pretty hungry but it still took me quite a while to finish it all because I didn't want to waste any. Thankfully it was after midnight with plenty of seats open so I wasn't rushed to finish or anything. The Cherry Ruby beer was much sweeter than I thought it would be; still tasted good but one was plenty. The strawberry parfait thing wasn't as good as I was expecting, but still not bad.

Breakfast was delicious with friendly and quick service. We came back again on our second day of staying in Osaka. Also breakfast prices are reasonable

The food was fantastic—nothing overly extravagant, but still incredibly delicious, especially after a stroll through the vibrant streets of Dotonbori. Plus, the ordering process was a breeze, making the whole experience enjoyable!

Decent gyoza. Had some extra condiments like chili oil and soy. Gyoza were fried decently but could've been more crispy. Toppings were alright but didn't do too much to be honest. Service on the street was good and it was a fun ambiance eating on the street.

Coffee shop with a great view of Dotonbori. Opens early so great for tourists who has a schedule for sightseeing! Solid 3.5 for overall experience. Oddly, felt British influenced here... like eating at a pub... old looking pub. The decor is definitely not Japanese. We got seated by the window, so nice view. Be patient, the staff will get you seated. Use your fingers to show how many. And be polite. The menu has pictures, Google translate is your BFF! We got breakfast sets and comes with a drink. My kids enjoyed their scrambled eggs and some brit meat pattie... with miso soup. I enjoyed my thick toasts and hard boiled egg. Coffee is not the greatest. Very standard coffee shop quality. A solid breakfast spot if you can't wait for other shops to open by 10 or 11am. They take credit cards. #yelplife #Osaka #tokyo

Food was good, had a few Japanese hamburger steak options. Came on a hot skillet with some vegetable side dishes (cole slaw, mash potatoes, boiled broccoli depending on the set you get). The portion is based on grams and what you would expect of a hamburger steak. Nothing mind blowing but wasn't mediocre either. This restaurant had 2 levels and was bustling when we came in around 7:30pm(19:30). It's a more casual place as many couples and families were there, it was on the more livelier side. Service was great, they were attentive in noticing we couldn't speak Japanese and gave us an English menu off the bat. They work fast pace and if you needed assistance or ordering, there is a button at each table you press and a worker would be with you in no more than 2 minutes! Wonderful system and communication. Had the non-alcoholic version of the raspberry beer which was good, similar to carbonated juice but did have a slight bitter aftertaste similar to cider. They also do have an alcoholic version as well along with a portion of desserts such as parfaits. Definitely a wide variety of options to choose from at this place.
