This is my favorite restaurant in San Antonio, period!!! I always order the Havana Bowl with Mojo Pork, and it’s consistently fabulous every single time! I really recommend asking for a side of the red salsa (idk what it is? Habanero? Would love to know) and it elevates everything to a completely new level. Other notable mentions are the cubano sandwich and the arepas. You cannot go wrong here!! Please do yourself a favor and get some!

Bilia is an absolute gem! The food is bursting with authentic Latin American flavor. I tried the arepas, chicken soup, chicharrones with guacamole, and their fresh guava lemonade — everything was delicious, refreshing, and made with care. The happy hour with sangria is unbeatable. The background music and warm aesthetics set the perfect vibe, and the arquitectura instantly transports you back to Latin America. This place is truly a gold mine in the entire state of Texas. A must-visit!

This place is a true gem! We had yucca fries, plantains, the special, a burger, and a Havana bowl with brisket. 10 out of 10. The service was top notch. Everything came out hot and fresh. We will definitely be back!

Barbacoa melt is a must!!! Best thing I have had in a long time! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy feel that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. The food is simply outstanding. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. This is more than just a meal; it's a complete dining experience. It's the kind of place you'll immediately want to tell all your friends about. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

This was a great spot that I would recommend to all my Arepa lovers.. Delicious and not to expensive.. Food: I got the La Mexicana, and the Reina Pepiada. Both were amazing. Service: from the entry we were greeted and helped immediately this was another plus being a first timer.. Atmosphere: The scenery was a new school Cuban vibe with a little bit of it own flavor. Very welcoming and cozy. Indoor and outdoor seating available.. Beverages: Coke products and Coke zero..

Delicious, fresh, traditional Latin fare is at its best at Bilia! I knew we were in for a treat when I bit into the generous Cuban Sandwich, and the bread and butter pickles (in lieu of dill) added savory and sweet flavors to the perfectly seasoned meats. The Havana Bowl with Peruvian chicken was a wonderful mix of jasmine rice, avocado, fried plantains and black beans topped with perfectly cooked chicken. The staff was helpful with recommendations, and the charming space was immaculate. I highly recommend... cheers!

A MUST! We had an early dinner at Bilia and everything we tried was incredible. It felt fresh, authentic and flavorful. There was a happy hour going on, too, so it was a nice way to sample a few other things we hadn't planned on ordering. There is a lot of great indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful natural light. Could not recommend it more!

Visited for the first time after hearing so many great reviews. The space is a decent size and a bit outdated, but it has a comfortable, cozy feel that I actually liked. The service was excellent--the owners were there and were very friendly and welcoming. The burgers were really good--fresh and tasty, though they could've used a little more seasoning. That said, you can't beat the price for the quality. We also ordered a hot dog for the kids, which isn't listed on the kids' menu (it's on the regular menu instead). It would be great to see it added to the kids' menu since hot dogs are such a kid favorite. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back again.

Ordered take-out for a company lunch. I got the Lomo Saltado (stir fry sirloin w/ soy sauce, red onions, tomato, french fries, cilantro, and a side of white rice). There were some tender chunks of meat, but some were a little tough to chew. The dish is pretty salty (more than I would like). Reminded me of the Vietnamese dish, "Shaken Beef" (minus the fries). They offer a variety of Cuban style sandwiches (tuna, chicken, turkey, steak), plates, coffee, & soft drinks. Two desserts options: goat cheese & guava cheesecake or cuatro leches Even though it was extremely busy during lunch, wait time was short and they served everyone quickly. Might consider a different item next time, but for now my Lomo Saltado was okay. The fries got soggy quick (especially in the to-go container).

I like to consider myself a tough, honest reviewer. My wife and I literally ate at this joint weeks ago. Since then, I've been racking my brain to try and find something... Because I don't easily give five stars. I've been twice now: ate the Cuban sandwich... The Frita Cubana... And was lucky enough to have their loaded fries special. This. Place. Is. Legit. Great, flavorful food, good service, fun, unique atmosphere with eclectic decor...spot on pricing ...I literally find no issues. I will say, it's not what I consider a romantic spot, but if you're in the mood for a great lunch atmosphere...do yourself a favor and try Bilia. You won't be disappointed. It's definitely on my "wouldn't mind going back to" - list. Bravo! Felicidades!

We saw this place in the paper and wanted to try it. It is so amazing. The service is friendly, patient, knowledgeable and fast. The food is just as good as advertised and I highly recommend what they recommend. The restaurant also is small but nicely decorated and has plenty of seating outside.

Tried to call ahead to save time but the number on Apple Maps, Google, and on their website is not in service/unavailable. So came in and placed in order ToGo. First time ever and got 2 Cuban sandwiches and a side of fries for myself and a coworker. Took nearly 20 minutes and cost $30 big ones!! I didn't even get any drinks. Otherwise, friendly service and very specious bright and colorful restaurant, felt like a good blend of traditional and modern. Lots of outdoor seating. And the lady at the register said they have brunch EVERY day! I believe I saw a cocktail menu and a coffee grinder! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't coming back. The sandwiches were delicious albeit on the smaller side. And those fries were fresh made! No dipping sauce though just ketchup packets.

Good food, tasty arepas, but the service and ambiance seems to be an after thought. They seem to be surprised that we're not ordering take out. With time I think they'll work this out but I don't think they have that long.

Bilia is by far one is my favorite eateries to frequent! From the open floor plan, to the beautiful, bright and colorful photo gallery on the wall, to the very tropical themed tables and decor. Every time I go there, the ambience and service are both excellent. Their chicken soup is absolutely amazing, I could eat it in the middle of August and feel totally fine about it. The arepas are all delicious, I have yet to have one. I didn't like. Their Cuban sandwich is also amazing! The last time I went, I also tried the coffee and the guava cheesecake and it blew my mind! You literally don't need to add a single thing to the coffee, the flavor is perfect as it is! I don't remember the last time I came here and it wasn't packed. I always look forward to grabbing some lunch here, keep in mind it is very filling!

Nice little hole in the wall that serves delicious, fresh food, and drinks. Our friends have been having about this spot and we finally had to visit with them. For a Friday night, it wasn't super busy, but we did go in an hour before closing time at 8 pm. I ordered their sangria and steak with chimichurri as my entree. Our friends ordered empanadas to munch on as appetizers. The empanadas were hot, with ample amounts of meat inside. Very delicious! Steak came out perfect with yucca fries and salad. Everything was cooked to perfection. Next time I would like to come back to try their sandwiches.

Excited to retry the food at Bilia after my first visit through a yelp event. I brought my whole family from out of town and we came for lunch on Sunday. The parking lot was full and there was a bit of a line but not so bad. We ordered our food and went off to wait. Food is prepared to order so be prepared to wait. As items get finished, they get brought out. Makes for a weird eating experience as some are eating and others still waiting. My favorite item is the 305 arepa. It might look small but it's packed with rice, beans, plantains and a generous amount of meat. Such good flavoring. My brother really enjoyed his Havana bowl and ate everything plated. My parents got the lomo saltado and the chimichurri steak which they enjoyed. The steak needed a bit more salt but otherwise was fine. They definitely loved the arepas way more and ordered 2 to go. Note: take out or to go containers are not offered. Overall, we had a great visit and it looks like the kitchen is still figuring out a system to get orders out. Hope they can continue to grow and expand.

My book club met at Bilia Eatery today, and we had such a great experience. We were a pretty big group, but Santiago took amazing care of us. He was so kind, patient, and on top of everything -- truly made us feel welcome. The food was awesome. The arepas were perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the loaded fries were a huge hit -- we ended up ordering extras because they disappeared so fast. And the sangria? Totally refreshing and just what we needed on a warm July day. The space is super cute and colorful, with a great vibe for a group hangout. We really appreciated how accommodating the team was. Huge thanks to Santiago and everyone at Bilia for making it such a fun and memorable outing. We'll definitely be back!!

The Argentina sandwich is amazing: premium ingredients like ribeye, avocado, pesto, tomato, ham and cheese make for a perfect hot panini. Interior is art deco revival, just like much of Miami. Love it! Parking is conveniently in front. I'll be back to try everything!

This is one of the MOST underrated spots in all of San Antonio and I do not say that lightly. I feel like I barely ever see anyone talking about Bilia but in my opinion, they should be! I've been to Bilia several times and I have never had a single disappointing meal. From the barbacoa melt to the arepas, the menu is packed with wonderful Cuban and Latin flavors! The staff is always friendly and the food is always delivered with care and in a timely manner. Just a cherry on top of what was already a wonderful sundae but the restaurant is just absolutely gorgeous aesthetically as well!! I just truly can't recommend this place enough!

Very cute newer Latin American food place in Castle Hills. I had the Cuban sandwich with fries. It was excellent. Really good fries!!!! Would love to see a little bigger menu but maybe that is coming. My only issue is how long it took to get the food out. I did not get an apology or explanation. But if this is the norm it's definitely something to work on.

Bilia Eatery is a true San Antonio gem and one of my favorite lunch spots in the city! This amazing restaurant specializes in a wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes inspired by wide variety of latin american countries. Everything is fresh and made to order, and they also have seasonal dishes that are a must! I think their best seller and my favorite dish is their cuban sandwich. It is absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! If you are not in the mood of a sandwich then I recommend their steak salad. It is the best steak salad you can find in the city and the flavors of the meat they use are insane! If you are planning to visit them during a weekday try to get here before or after the lunch rush. They do tend to get pretty busy, but they do their best to get all dishes out as quickly as possible. They also have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which I am sure will be pretty nice in the fall. Overall, this place is 10/10 in my book and I hope everyone gives them a chance!

The Cuban sandwich and fries came out quick, freshly cooked and delicious. The service was quick and the gentleman who took our order was polite and knowledgeable. Food was very flavorful, I would recommend that you give it a try!

This spot has quickly become one of my go-tos. The arepas are super flavorful and packed with fillings, the burgers are juicy and well-seasoned, and the chicharrón is crispy and full of flavor--perfectly done every time. One thing to keep an eye out for is the frozen Brazilian limeade. It's not always on the menu, but when it is, definitely get it. Refreshing, tangy, and not too sweet--it's the perfect drink to pair with the heavier dishes. Great food, casual vibe, and solid flavors all around. Highly recommend!

A fun experience at Bilia! Service was a bit slow and sandwich wasn't really warm when served, but aside from that, food was excellent and staff was keenly ready to offer recommendations and make modifications. Got the turkey sandwich and sides of maduros and a salad. Got my Cuban-casual cuisine fix for sure

They recently were rated #1 Cuban Sandwich in San Antonio by the express news. I love a good Cuban and this one was very good. Not quite perfect but very good. Ambiance is just ok. Their other menu items look really good too.

10000/10 Love love love this place! I cannot recommend it enough. This is my number one recommendation to anyone looking for a quick lunch during the work week or wants a cute healthy yummy weekend treat!! Service is always amazing and the food never disappoints. I've gotten many things on the menu and all are phenomenal. They have a beautifully decorated dining area and a nice outdoor patio. Makes me feel like i'm in Miami!

A little cute restaurant I suggest you try. The staff were friendly and helpful as it was our first time. You order at the counter and your food is brought out to your table. I wanted to try their Cuban coffee but they were out, however their house coffee was amazing and has a self refill station. They serve breakfast and lunch items all day. I would recommend the plantain chips as well as the brunch sandwich. Kids were able to share a pancake plate. You don't have to pick up plates when you're done. They have highchairs and a changing table available. The place was clean and has cute decor. I look forward to going back and trying more!

I've been to Bilia twice now, and it's quickly becoming a favorite! We walked in on a Saturday noon for brunch, and it was really easy to find an empty table. It did quickly get filled up as the afternoon came along - apparently we got in at a good time! They had lomo saltado and a guava limeaid as their specials on the day. Our table got those, plus a Frita Cubana and the Peruvian Grilled Chicken! I've tried the Frita Cubana on my first visit and recommended it to my friend who really liked it. The Peruvian Chicken I ordered for myself was a little salty at first, but it mellowed out as I tasted all of the components of the dish! The chicken was succulent and well cooked, and the sauce was delicious. My friend ordered the lomo saltado - which was also a little salty at first, but overall Bilia has great food that comes in large servings for decent prices. The cute decor, especially with glass walls in the back area is a plus!

Had heard many great comments and recommendations...couldn't wait to try it. The Cuban sandwich was the best one I've ever had. However several items on the menu are so intriguing that I can't wait to come back and try all of them! Great staff, plenty of room for seating!

Really cute cafe! The staff were very friendly. I told them I was limited on time and they steered me towards the Havana bowl. I got it with beef and when I took my first bite, I closed my eyes with pleasure. The rice, beans, and maduros were all a little firmer than what I'm used to, but the flavor was so good. The cilantro garlic sauce is out of this world, and I didn't even like cilantro. I can't wait to come back when I have more time to get some arepas. For parents - there's high chairs, a changing station, and outdoor seating.

This Cuban-inspired spot was decent but leaned more upscale and fusion than authentic Cuban flavors. I had the frita with fries, and my partner had the Cuban sandwich--both were fine but not quite what I expect from true Cuban food. It was a bit pricey for what it is, but the cute location and good service stood out. I'd return eventually, but it's not a priority.

I am embarrassed at how long it took me to try Bilia, seeing as how I live so close. It is such a cute place, modern with accents of traditional Mexican decor. It reminds me of one the quaint little brunch places in Mexico City. Walk in to place an order at the counter, the guy there was super nice and helpful with answering questions I had about the menu. There are laminated menus there for you to grab and study if you need to. I went with the barbacoa grilled cheese which comes with a side of fries. My husband ordered the Peruvian chicken. We went outside to grab a table since it was such a nice day. It didn't take long before someone was out with our food. First off, that barbacoa grilled cheese STILL haunts my dreams weeks later! It was so flavorful without being overwhelming. I ate slowly because I didn't want it to end. The fries were excellent too. I just got the regular ones, not the yucca. I've noticed that in other restaurants, when fries come as a side, they're kind of phoned in and taste a bit bland or plain. These were seasoned with, I don't know what, but they were so good! There was not a single crumb left on my plate. My husband really enjoyed his Peruvian grilled chicken as well. Though I can't even speak for it because we were both so immersed in our own meals that we didn't get to taste each other's dishes as we usually do. It looked amazing and fresh! We will definitely return!!

We live in the neighborhood and have been wanting to try this spot and we're so glad we did! I got a happy hour burger and my husband got a steak dish. The burger was small but for a happy hour deal, I wasn't mad about it. It definitely still hit the spot. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. The plantains were delicious! Lots of good flavors and options. This is a hidden gem!

Found this cute little Cuban restaurant. Very artistic inside. Lots of big windows to let the light in. Outdoor and indoor seating. Fresh smelling food throughout the restaurant. We ordered the Cuban sandwiches and arepas yum!!! Full of flavor, big serving, and great customer service

I came to Bilia with my mom and sister on a bright Sunday afternoon. They have outdoor seating, which looked very nice; but since my family and I were in a hurry, we had to takeout. The inside was so beautiful, I felt like I was stepping into a coastal city when I walked in. The wall of pictures was my favorite decoration! Maybe next time I'll dine in! My sister ordered our food, it was pretty quick and easy. We arrived right before the lunch rush, so it did not take too much time before the food came out. My sister and I ordered the Cuban sandwich; she also got an extra side of fries, and I got the maduros. And we ordered the Peruvian chicken for my mom. I am not lying when I say that Bilia's Cuban sandwich was the best one I've ever had! Each ingredient was in perfect harmony with each other, and the fries were amazing as well! The meat was tender and very flavorful, the pickles were crunchy, the bread was buttery, I could go on! Also, the sandwich was huge! I could not finish it in one sitting, and my sister had to give some to my mom who could not finish it either. The fries tasted like roasted potatoes and were crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The maduros were indeed sweet; personally, I think they were a bit too thick and a little raw on the inside. I'm more familiar with thinner slices of plantain, so maybe it's just me. I forgot to ask my mom about her meal because I was too distracted by my own, sorry. I also forgot to take a picture of her food too.... However, I'm pretty sure she liked it because she finished the whole thing! To summarize, my mom, sister, and I loved the food and the ambiance!! I will definitely be going back, and you have to try the Cuban sandwich!!

Wanted to try a new place, so stopped by after work. The staff were friendly, the food was great, and the space had a Latin American feel to it with the decor. Loved it!!

The staff was friendly here at Bilia and were patient with the people in front of us who didn't really understand the menu lol! We ordered the Cuban and Argentino. Cuban was definitely a hit plus I ordered the yucca fries with it! The pork was very flavorful and I loved the thick cut pickles. However, me living in Miami for 3 years I got used to the mayoketchup and had to make my own here because they do not have - not a big issue though! The Argentino wasn't my favorite but I believe it's due to preference; I am not a huge breaded steak person so try it if you like that style of meat. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors depending on your vibe. We did pay about $35 for this meal so a bit pricey in my opinion for sandwiches however I understand the rareness of Cuban eatery's here and effort in maintaining high quality ingredients.

A friend took me and my husband to Bilia for dinner. I really enjoy Cuban food and I was pleased to see this place was close to my home. The atmosphere is really nothing to speak of, but the staff and the food are something wonderful! I shared some yucca fries with the table, they were hot, crispy and so good. We all loved them! Then i had a slow roasted pork arepa... it was delicious! The pork was tender and seasoned perfectly, it had slightly sweet plantain with a cilantro sauce. I will definitely be back for more of that! My husband enjoyed a Bilia burger with a bacon jam and a pepper aioli. It was also delicious! (we traded a couple of bites, of course.) The service is really good, and the staff were very friendly. The prices were reasonable and the portions were nice... not huge... but just right. I will be back for more of this terrific Cuban cuisine. If you're a cuban food fan this place will make you happy!

Good food and service. Have never been here before, but was very pleased to see that they had a multitude of cuisines, including Peruvian and others. I had one of the bowls with shredded chicken, which was delicious. My wife had the Peruvian chicken, and it was also very good as well as the chicken soup that we split as an appetizer. Simple and good!

As small as this place looks from the outside, they sure offer a wide variety of Spanish food from various Latin countries. Ordering food is easy and simple from the menu. I ordered, got my drink, and paid. Within 5 to 6 minutes, a lady brought my dish hot and smelling good. The food was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture of the emptied plate. The season and temperatures of the food was on point. The location is a bit far from me but I'll come back here from time to time to eat their delicious food. The place doesn't have a big area for a lot of people to sit and eat so consider reserving for a party of 10 or more.

Came in on a Friday morning before noon and had the Cubano sandwich. The place was mostly empty but the Cubano sandwich was excellent. The interior was nice, clean, and well-lit like you would expect from a modern country bakery/bistro. The only points of improvement I would make: - Make sure all of the pork in the Cubano is properly pulled. Biting into a larger chunk of pork can be a bit jarring, especially when that bite pulls half the pork out of the sandwich. - Add another layer of sliced ham to help balance out the roasted pork and mustard flavors. - Season the fries a little more. Ketchup should be optional and shouldn't be required to give the fries flavor. Or at least give customers the option of having their fries seasoned better than what the standard is. The above is enough to earn this place 4 stars. What made it 5 was the soft toilet paper in the bathrooms. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! No other restaurant I've been to has had toilet paper this soft. It is acknowledged and highly appreciated, so here's a fifth star.

My husband and I had a chance to stop by and have lunch at Bilia. We have heard a bit about this Latin eatery that encompasses foods from several Latin American nations like Cuba, Columbia, and Mexico. We found the restaurant easy to get to in the heart of the Castle Hills area of San Antonio, so it is centrally located. It is a warm and inviting place with beautiful artwork throughout. You order your food at the counter and are given a number to take to your table for delivery from the kitchen. I had the Cubano sandwich for lunch while my husband got the Bilia burger with fries. We shared the huge sandwiches that both of us enjoyed immensely. We also tried the chicharrones con yucca. It comes with a tangy cole slaw and a yummy aioli sauce. We polished those off quickly. I think we could have easily shared a sandwich/burger along with the chicharrones and yucca and would have been plenty full. We'll stop by more now that we've found this little gem.

This place is SO good! We've tried plenty of things on the menu (including some of their limited time features) and are never disappointed. The Steak Argentina is one of my favorite sandwiches in the city and the Cubano is to die for. Not to mention, the owners and their staff are so nice and make every customer feel like a regular! Bonus points for how beautiful the restaurant and decor is.

Went again with my best friend and I arrived before him. I had my daughter with me in the carrier. One of the workers rushed to open the door for us, which was sweet. I returned a couple weeks later with fiancé and daughter. Still amazing and still great service. Food is consistently tasty.

Everything we've had here has been delicious! I am a fan of of the Cuban sandwich and the arepas are all great. Today we had the Peruvian Chicken and the Brazilian Steak Bowls, they were both so good! Drinks are also great, love the guava limeade and today I tried the Brazilian limeade which was super refreshing. Would love it if they were open a little later on Sundays as they close at 3.

Confession: first time I came I was so excited - I immediately walked in and started taking photos of the area. Was informed to be careful; floors had been recently mopped. My sister had the 305 arepa. after we placed our order, we were given a number and took a seat towards the back. Felt that the space was open, bright, and simply felt "refreshing" When provided our meal, I was offered to try the 305. It looked too pretty to bite into but I gave it a go, I may have burned a few tastebuds - I should've allowed it to cool off... maybe not take such a large bite but no regrets! the tastebuds that survived tasted the wonderful flavors! The black beans: chefs kiss! I held a good 10min conversation about the different ways to try to make them this good. The plantain was nice and sweet. Trying their Cuban sandwich was simply magical. Trying it with their house salsa which consists a mixture of Thai peppers was also a pleasant experience - had enough to share with my kiddo ... who gobble it down in no time. #BoyMom Thank you to the staff: Your hard work and dedication was noticed. Small inside area to eat was cute and cozy, but the wobbly chairs were not good. (Someone will fall, if they haven't already.) We got sandwiches and both were really good, as were the fries. My fave thing was definitely the side salad - it was delish! Need a better drink selection. Fresh brewed tea and safer chairs would have earned 4 stars from me.

Good food, friendly service from Santiago, and a nice and welcoming ambiance. We will return to try out more plates.

This is my fourth time and I love the Turkey club and fries! Service has always been great, everyone is soo friendly, especially the young lady taking the order. I didn't give six stars because they don't have Diet Coke, they only have Coke Zero. I of course will be back.

So we HF never been here but we're in the area and thought we'd give it a shot - good decision! It's not a huge place but the food is great. We tried things we have never eaten and were happy we did. We ordered two different 'handhelds' so we could share. The first was the Cubano which is slow roasted mojo pork, ham, Swiss, homemade pickles (they are really good by the way), garlic aioli and mustard, all on pressed French bread. The sandwich had a really good flavor and the pressed bread was tasty as well. A really good sandwich! We also tried the Barbacoa melt which had roasted jalapeños, cream cheese, provolone, Monterey Jack and beef cheek barbacoa on pressed bread. Also a great sandwich with great flavor. The sandwiches were served with shoestring fries which actually had a good flavor and were not underdone and mushy like some places prepare them. We decided to try the banana sopas for dessert. These are kind of like a fritter but in round ball-shaped pieces. They had banana, a caramel sauce and powder sugar. They were slightly crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. There was a hint of cinnamon and they smelled amazing. A great call on our part ordering them. So - we were very pleased and will definitely come back again - the hard part will be deciding on a new item or going with what we know is good!
