Yelp
I'll be frank here, I only give 1 stars once in a couple blue moons. You really have to go out of the way to get a 1 Star from me
I'm visiting from the states and My friends co-worker told me this is a MUST come to place (note: she's not a foodie but we still have it a go). We ordered a TON of stuff :
Hot cakes- pretty good, but the honey comb butter is clearly a gimmick.
corn fritters- it was easier on the stomach, but not amazing. I liked the hot cakes more
salad- meh, wilted leafs and it wasn't too amazing
burger- pass on this, go get mc D instead
"Korean" fried chicken- just because it's fried and you serve it with a sour siracha type sauce does NOT make it Korean. Skip this and go to another place. I would rather have KFC than this.
Our waitress was really rude throughout our meal. I totally get it, 2 of our party was late, but come on, the place was half empty. She was even was ballsy enough to say: "tip is complementary, so you should tip if you want, people tip" and hovered behind my friend to see the tip price (friend felt super pressured to tip). Heck, you really don't need to say anything about tip, we can read the "tip" line. At least, do not make if clear you are looking at the tip price. Now I'm used to tipping and will GLADLY tip 20-30% if the meal was great, but here in Australia, you don't tip, you only do a couple dollars if it's flipping amazing.
I stayed in Australia for 2 weeks trying a TON of food places: I will say the food AND service was by far the worst I've had during my trip. I'll even say a LOT of the places in the States are better.
I won't be coming back, this came off as a tourist trap filled with gimmicks.
Hopefully my experience was just a one off and the team had just a off day, totally get it.
Advice for the owners:
-retrain the waitress (We were here Saturday Feb 3rd: our waitress was a bit on the heavier end with dirty blond hair.) that served us, but to be safe do it with the whole team.
-the food really needs to get up to standard, there is a problem if I would prefer fast food over some of the dishes.
- the staff should NOT be asking for tips, we can read, and if we have a question regarding the tip line, then politely say it's complementary.
- remove wireless pay and do it like the good old days and give the bill. Take the tender to the register. Come back to the table and drop it, yeah wireless pay can be efficient, but having a waitress wait for someone to pay takes a worker off the floor. You're hurting yourselves having this tool if the waitress has to keep going back and forth to grab it
