This is a must see! The Billy Graham Library is truly a special place. The Journey of Faith museum experience is so well done it beautifully captures the history of Billy Graham’s life and ministry. Walking through, you can see how God used his obedience and faith to impact millions around the world. Every exhibit is meaningful, and the storytelling is powerful and personal. I visited years ago and wow, that have really done a pronominal job. Be sure and check out his childhood home, which has been carefully preserved, as well as the quiet, peaceful gravesite it’s a moving reminder of a life well lived. A great tip: take a little time to sit on the back porch with a good book and just soak in the atmosphere. The setting itself is peaceful and welcoming, making the entire visit feel uplifting. Also spend some time in the gift shop as well as the cafe. The food on the cafe is really good and reasonably priced. I left encouraged, inspired, and grateful for the reminder of how God can use one life surrendered to Him and reach so many,

Amazing place!!!! I love Billy Graham and I am so glad I got the opportunity to visit his library. You can sense the presence of God there, all the staff are SO WARM and FRIENDLY. The tour and experience is well organized and laid out. I would gladly come back again and again. Glory to God for blessing us with such a man and his ministry. And to all who put this together to honour his legacy which points us all to Jesus. And it’s totally free!

Google
A very detailed view of Mr. Graham's life, his background, family and moments with many people from government to variety of other fields. The staff is extremely friendly and on hand to guide or answer questions. Leave about hour and half or two. There were several large church groups visiting so we had of good conversations with other folks. Humble place representing such a amazing man dedicated to teaching and reaching people. Especially interesting, how many tv shows he appeared on relaying the clear gospel message clearly and with firm kindness.

We visited the museum several weekends in a row because we really enjoyed the tours and the walking areas. We gained a lot of positive emotions and inspiration from the life story of Billy Graham. His home is a work of art in itself, and we enjoyed every corner of it.

Google
I am from Malaysia so it’s really neat to visit the Billy Graham “museum.” Lots of videos to watch. It was inspiring to see how God used an ordinary farm boy to change the world. There are many beautiful photos by folks reviewing the place but I haven’t seen a photo of the “smart cow” yet. So here you go! And we have a chance to see Billy’s Bible and preaching notes. One other thing. If you pay attention to some of the exhibits, you can find interesting crucial details. I found a little chart that traced how the gospel was passed on from one generation to the next until it reached Billy. There was a long line of evangelists before Billy. Eye opening.

Had an Amazing time. Such a fun, peaceful place. Billy's story is unmatched. Staff are all friendly and even offer to pray for you. Prices aren't terrible and there is food on site(and ice cream)

Google
A Powerful and Inspiring Experience The Billy Graham Library is a beautifully curated, self-guided journey through the life and ministry of a man who said “yes” to God—and let that surrender shape a global impact for the Kingdom. My husband and I were deeply moved by how powerfully it illustrates what God can do through one life fully yielded to Him. We had read that two hours would be enough time, but we gave ourselves three and a half and still didn’t get to see everything. Unfortunately, we missed the house tour and didn’t have time to browse the store as we had hoped. The food at the Dairy Barn was great—we just wish we had made it back in time to try the milkshakes! As we prepare to enter full-time missions ourselves, this afternoon spent exploring Billy Graham’s legacy was incredibly meaningful and encouraging. One of the highlights was Barbara taking a moment to pray for us at the end of our visit. That meant so much. The entire team was warm, welcoming, and clearly committed to excellence. Thank you for creating such an impactful experience.

Visiting the Billy Graham Library was one of the most moving experiences of my life. The atmosphere is filled with peace, love, and God’s presence. A truly beautiful place that touches the heart and soul.

Yelp
I mean if you're not rating this 5 stars, good luck getting to heaven! I came the day before Thanksgiving while dealing with several horrible life blows in the prior 5 days. I had already planned to make the 2 hour drive from Raleigh anyway, but now, I went because I needed to make this visit. The staff was incredibly friendly, as one would expect. After I finished my tour of the exhibits, two people prayed for me, including the chaplain of the library. The outside grounds are nicely kept and I like that the library/museum has the farmhouse feel to it. It feels very homey and cozy. Definitely spend some time in the bookstore, there is a lot of good merch for sale. Although $30 for a coffee mug was a little too over the top for me. Let us always remember the legacy of the Grahams and may we always be aware of God's divine and loving presence.

Yelp
Our senior adults at church took a trip up the Billy Graham Library. I've heard about his library but never knew much about it. This was a very interesting and informative experience. They had workers and volunteers that helped in each section of the library. It starts with how he first got saved, started school and preaching and then as an evangelist. The last section has photos and videos of his funeral. So much great information in each section of the library. There must be 1,000 of photos to look at. Each section has short videos to watch as well as photos and actual personal items to look at. We were there for about 4 hours. We also had lunch there which was very good. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was good. Definitely recommend this for all ages! Added note; I was the driver for the church bus. It's a 38' motor coach. This place does have a nice place for drop off and pick up but the bus parking area is very tight and very low tree limbs. I must have hit two to three low limbs while leaving the area and going to park where they told to go. * Btw; the bus is only 11' 8" tall. If you do drive a bus to this location because mindful of low tree limbs.

Yelp
I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this experience, but it was a delightful walk through Billy Graham's life. From walking through his childhood home to seeing all the videos of his evangelical crusades. Billy Graham is an inspiration to all Christians to share the good news with a world in need. I enjoyed seeing the pictures and videos throughout his ministry and learning that his main two ministry partners were with him to the end of all of their careers. The library tour includes a time where people can respond to the gospel and pray with staff. I hope that the message of Christ continues to spread through this ministry.

Yelp
We had a very enjoyable visit. The story of Billy Graham is very much his testimony to a life committed to doing God's will. The library tour is the presentation of the way to salvation. The exhibitions and presentations are very well done and were of interest to me. You'll definitely get your money's worth, it's free. If you're in the area it's worth the visit. There is a cafe with food, drinks, and coffees.

Yelp
Beautiful place. Friendly people. The depth of Rev. Graham's life and global ministry is nothing more than amazing of how Hod could use ONE man to impact the world.

Yelp
A great place for all ages. Kids will love the talking cow and understanding Billy Graham's legacy. A lot of adult content to read. All staff are very friendly and offer prayer. Stop by the book store before you leave. Items are priced reasonable.

Yelp
Overall, the grounds of the museum were beautiful. I noticed that the museum has many references to the bible. The inside of Bill Graham's childhome is ornately decorated, but not all parts of his home is accessible. However, some parts of the museum felt flat.

Yelp
Such a cool, inspiring, and educational experience! As a lifelong Christian I've always known of Billy Graham as a great evangelist, but I learned so much of the details and scope of his work. Every part of the museum is so well-done, even down to the food court area designed to mimic his upbringing. We visited around Christmastime, and they had a live nativity with animals and everything! The building itself is beautiful, and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful.

Yelp
The Billy Graham Library exceeded my expectations in every way. We visited Billy Graham's house and were warmly welcomed by tour guides who explained every aspects of the house. The house was beautiful and had many pictures and historic items. Following the house tour, the library has multiple rooms detailing Billy Graham's upbringing and influence to Christian culture. The whole walk took around one hour to go through. The end of the library had a bookstore and dairy bar. The bookstore had an expansive variety of theological books. The dairy bar had very good service and food. There were plenty of seating options for dining. Outside the library were the tombstones of Billy Graham and Ruth Graham. Every staff member who assisted in directing and serving were very kind and friendly. I would recommend visiting this place 10/10.

Yelp
My husband and I were in the Charlotte area, and I had seen this come up on the map. I didn't know what to expect, because I didn't get a chance to look into it before we headed there. What a surprise! First off, the doorway is a huge cross when you walk in. Absolutely beautiful and what a beautiful reminder of Jesus' sacrifice. As you walk in, there's a welcome desk. Everyone was so wonderful! There is a free tour that takes about an hour and a half. We thought we might just see a building, but it was so much more than that! We did as much of the tour as we could, but when we made plans to go there we didn't anticipate a tour or staying long. There is a cafe for some food and drinks, and there is also a gift shop with all kinds of things and lots of books whether they are bibles in many different translations, study bibles, books on spiritual warfare, devotional, etc. My husband ended up getting a Billy Graham study Bible, and he loves it. Around the path outside, are the graves of Billy and his wife. We had a lovely visit here. Anyone who knows the Graham family, has been to one of his events, is a Christian, or loves a truly inspirational story, would enjoy this. We plan to bring my in laws when they visit. Billy was a strong man of faith and lived for Jesus making it his mission to bring as many to Christ across the world as possible. When you walk out of the building back through the cross, if you look up, you will see written "I am coming quickly." A reminder for us all to be ready.

Yelp
Beautiful library/museum. Amazing staff and great tour of Billy Grahams life journey. Would highly recommend for anyone to come check it out. Definitely should be on everyone's things to see or do when visiting Charlotte.

Yelp
Everyone in the world needs to experience this place at least once. It can't be explained. Only experienced. I can tell you what is there but to understand why I highly recommend this place, you will have to find out yourself. I could feel the presence of God in that house he grew up in. And the feeling I got when the staff opened those doors to the building where the gallery is housed made us feel so welcomed. I will have to come back for refreshments because I arrived too late for the exhibits and other activities they had to offer. But the gallery was amazing! It was a creative and illustrative way to explain Billy Graham's ministry and the impact it had on the world. And even if you are not into these types of things I would nevertheless encourage everyone to go.I'm so surprised this place is basically ran by donations. I was both delighted, touched and expressed with everything from the house, to the gallery to the large mural that has a special visual surprise when you take a picture of it. I don't want to give it away but here is a clue... focus on the tomb of Christ (or the lighting from your picture). Shalom

Yelp
Today, Kayla Beth Fields ,Saige, Deacon & I toured the Boyhood Home of Pastor Billy Graham, Evangelist Minister and Prophet of our Lord Jesus Christ. This tour was amazing!! Absolutely FREE for your enjoyment and learning. Located near I-77 in Charlotte, NC off the Billy Graham Parkway. Very easy to locate. There are three sections, the house tour (self guided main floor only with his family furniture and photos). The Dairy Barn Museum with a 1.5 hr tour which is self guided and video prompted and then there is the final resting place where Ruth and Rev Graham's earthly bodies are resting in a garden of Azalea Bushes. There is a Gift shop, prayer rooms, restrooms and restaurant on site as well. Handicap accessible.

Yelp
This is our second visit to the Library and the first since Billy Graham died. The museum is so special as it testifies to God's hand on the life of Billy Graham. I was so impressed with the videos and pictures. Their use of technology was so cool. One room there was a spinning globe and a video was playing on the globe. Another room showed older TV's behind 4-5 windows. Each window was actually a video screen. It was so cool to see the video played out switching back and forth from screen to screen. Throughout the museum the message of the gospel is clearly presented and as you walkout the last room you walk into a prayer room. We also walked to the graveside of Billy Graham and his wife and Cliff Barrows his wife and George Beverley Shea. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful and everything is FREE. You can make a donation. Make sure you checkout the bookstore. So many books by many well known Christian authors. This museum is a must visit for anyone...especially Christians.

Yelp
I grew up close to here and still try to come up and see family. My aunts and uncles are in their 90s and eldest is almost (Nov) 102! And I must admit I always carry a small cooler with me to bring home a Piedmont treat - Livermush. All my kids and grandkids love it so the 13 pounds I can pack is shared. But we have never visited the Billy Graham Library. I can't understand why. So this trip we set aside time to see it all. It is an amazing place dedicated to an amazing but humble man that introduced hundreds of thousands of people to Jesus Christ. We were fortunate to have been ushers and helpers in a Crusade held in Tampa. And we support through our church Franklin Graham's ministries, especially Operation Christmas Child that takes shoeboxes (now mostly plastic boxes) to bring toys, shoes, books, sports equipment, fishing lines & hooks and more to children that otherwise would have nothing. The tour is divided into a number of displays, audio visuals and films telling the story of Billy's life journey from country preacher to evangelist to multiple presidents, heads of state, even communist countries. It's a marvelous and inspiring story that will give you a fresh inspiration to also declare God's Good News to the world.

Yelp
The Billy Graham Library was recommended by my family. They had all been there before. I had not. I ended up being pretty well underwhelmed by it. First of all, after driving up a long driveway, you come to a guard shack with a gate. The gate was closed and so we were not sure if the place was even open. It was but that was not clear until the guard came out and directed us to the parking lot. Not sure how necessary that really was. After parking, the first thing you come to is the childhood home of Billy Graham which has been moved brick by brick twice. Only the ground floor has been preserved/renovated. There are a few rooms to go in and a couple of docents to provide some history. This was the most interesting part of the library. Next we made our way into the big barn looking place where tours begin. There was an old truck and an animatronic cow that were cool. There is also a good size book store/gift shop and a cafe. That was about it. At least for the self guided portion of this place. We chose not to take the tour. Perhaps we missed a lot having not taken the tour. But we really were not that interested. That is on us. I feel that I would have experienced more if guided tours were optional and I could have gone through the exhibits at my own pace.

Yelp
This is a very well done museum and library. The Journey of Faith tour goes through thirteen rooms explaining Billy Graham's life, work, family, & legacy. I'm not the most religious - loosely Catholic - so I really knew nothing about Billy Graham, but I feel I really understand his work & impact now. I didn't realize he'd advised so many presidents and world leaders! The property is beautiful and the staff is SO friendly. Everyone was so kind and informative while also not being pushy/preachy if that's not your thing. I say this because I think this is an educational and interesting experience whether you're religious or not - it's NC's most visited site for a reason! Definitely worth checking out while in Charlotte. They have a nice restaurant too.

Yelp
Wish I would have looked into what this place is. Strongly would not recommend so make sure you look in advance what this place is about!

Yelp
Fantastic spot to come to anytime you're near Charlotte! Just a few minutes from the airport, this beautiful estate is soul moving. I walked around the grounds before entering the museum and saw the gravestones. Billy and his wife. I loved her quote "construction complete, thank you for your patience". Billy was a beautifully humble disciple of God, used his God given gift of evangelism locally and globally. I was awed by his wife's ongoing support of him as he was away from the home so much yet they had a strong support system. I was very very moved.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
It was so much more than we originally thought it'd be. It was less of a shrine about Billy Graham and more about Jesus. We could really feel the presence of God in this place and even had a staff member reach out to pray over us. The exhibits are well done. The dairy barn is typical snack food, nothing to write home about but it was nice to have something about spending 2 hours there. We can't wait to bring family back!

Yelp
The Billy Graham Library is a must go when you are in the area. You don't want to miss this opportunity. The library takes you on a journey of the life and ministry of Billy Graham, and his wife Ruth. You will start the journey in the barn, and enter various rooms with different themes out of Billy's live. Some have video presentations, others have pictures, artifacts, and other interesting memories from the well lived live of America's Evangelist to the world. Enjoy a walk through the garden were both Billy and Ruth are laid to rest. You will not regret it!

Tajah H.

Yelp
It's a beautiful looking place. However, it's not inviting for people like Me . I went with my family & we all felt very out of place. I didn't see any representation on the walls or in the displays they had. I also didn't like how the horses, camels & goats looked. They looked sad & depressed. I don't want to give any stars honestly. I would never go back or recommend anyone to go.

Suzanne W.

Yelp
Beautiful library - tells the story of Billy Graham and points to Jesus. Nice bookstore, cafe, and interesting exhibits.

Yelp
The Billy Graham Library and campus is definitely worth a visit no matter if you're a local or just visiting Charlotte. We thoroughly enjoyed our time learning about Billy Graham and the legacy he left behind. The tour is self paced and free so there is no reason not to spend a little time learning about the life of this man. Presidents from the last Dwight D Eisenhower to Donald Trump met with Billy Graham seeking his counsel. Lots of history to see in addition to Billy's work and life.

Yelp
Being in Charlotte, you have to come visit the Billy Graham Library. Truly a great museum that lays out the life of an extraordinary individual. Going from exhibit to exhibit, you can really see and feel how much love, passion, and compassion he has for people and the impact that he left on countless lives around the world. His childhood home, which is also on the grounds, is well preserved and allows you to get a glimpse of what his life was like growing up. The people that work here are all extremely friendly and helpful. Really great experience coming here :)

Yelp
The Library is a special and unique experience based where one is at on their spirtual walk so it's one of those place you need to visit for yourself. For a man who was honored and pastored to so many of our Presidents - the library was very educational and impactful for those who are seeking to embrace their knowledge and Charlotte history. Billy Graham was named North Carolinas favorite son for good reason as he left a long and lasting impact on the state of North Carolina and the world. After the Journey of Faith, as visitors were invited to their Ruth's Attic Bookstore which features a great selections of Bible, books by the Graham family and other noted authors; classic Billy Graham sermons on DVD; plus a wide selection of gifts, including music, apparel, and specialty items. You can also see Billy Grahams pulpit that he used at Crusade event around the world. There was a chance to enjoy specialty coffees, soups, salads, ice creams and Mother Grahams pound cake at their Graham Brothers Dairy Bar. Admission is free, but if you'd like to make a contribution, donation boxes are available in the lobby.

Yelp
We came here on a Monday and made a reservation for 11am just a few hours before that. It turns out there was no need for a reservation as it was not that busy (by their standards). We stopped at the gate and then parked easily very close to the building. The parking lot is huge so I can't imagine how busy it gets during its peak. We first walked through Billy's house, which was transported brick by brick to its current location. We then entered the main museum, where they greeted us and gave the kids an activity sheet, which kept them engaged the whole time. You then move room by room through the museum. Some at your own pace, and some have videos. The gospel is presented well and clearly. I love that the focus wasn't on Billy, as he would have it. After the tour, kids traded in their activity cards for a prize and we got some books from the bookstore. We did not eat at the cafe, but did walk around the grounds for a few minutes, checking out the tombs. All of this was FREE and sponsored by donors. What will your response be to the gospel presented?

Yelp
Beautiful place! They have a small gift shop, a dairy bar, and you can learn about billy Graham and his life!

Yelp
Although it is called a "library," this place is also a wonderful museum of the life and ministry of Billy Graham and the people he worked with. With free admission, free parking, and super nice employees, the buildings are definitely worth a visit! The main barn-shaped building contains the "Journey of Faith," a tour of several rooms with state-of-the-art large screen videos and high-quality displays with photos and information of his many accomplishments. The reconstructed home from his childhood years in Charlotte is decorated realistically, with many of the original building materials, furnishings, and memorabilia. Ruth's Attic bookstore contains unique gifts and books that provide evidence of his wife's priority of great literature. High on the walls are built-in bookshelves containing books from Billy Graham's own personal library. Other nice features of this place are the dairy bar which also has delicious lunch items, and the nearby (down a street) Billy Graham Archive & Research Center with sermons, videos, historical records, and other ministry materials, some of which are also available to view online. Very inspiring place!

Yelp
I know I'm going against the majority here not giving this 5 stars, but I was kinda disappointed here. I would recommend you come for the nativity scene and decorations during Christmas time, but the actual library, could be avoided and you wouldn't miss much. Billy Graham was an amazing preacher, and helped millions on their path to salvation, and the library and it's tour(which for some reason starts with an animatronic cow named Bessie) do illustrate his life. However, it's confusing and not linear at all, and meanders between videos that are similar and inescapable. That's right, you are literally locked behind a door that does not open until the movie ends! This would be much more interesting if it incorporated more info on different crusades, a timeline, or specific places he went, instead of the endless videos and photos with various famous people or foreign leaders. The items enclosed within the displays are interesting, from letters to a couple handguns turned in by gang members after attending a crusade(now that's a story I want to hear more about!) In the end, you are forced to watch another video about Billy, which is sort of an alter call at the end, and are handed cards you can fill out if you want to learn more about becoming a Christian. While this is definitely a Billy Graham thing to do, it feels kinda awkward, and wasn't something I was expecting. It's even more awkward that the doors then open I to the gift shop where there is a huge statue of Billy Graham casting seeds... Anyway, the best part of this trip here was the Nativity scene and the Christmas lights hung up everywhere. The scene was on point, and had a couple camels, sheep, a donkey and even random lemur in a cage! There are also carriage rides through the grounds which look really awesome at night with all the lights in the trees, highly recommended!

Yelp
Prepare to be inspired. With thoughtful design and serene landscaping, the library is a wonderful space for inspiration, reflection and learning. Plan on at least an hour for the walk through tour and another hour or more to explore the grounds, home and gift shop.

Yelp
Visited the library last night to experience the Christmas at the Library. It was fabulous. There was carriage rides and cocoa, several different groups caroling and the live nativity to enjoy. Also there was the childhood home of the late great Billy Graham to see and tour. The library was also quite a fun place to see as it had a cute gift store with all sorts of gifts and memorabilia to see and purchase . There was a dining area to grab a bite to eat and on the weekend there's even a Full dinner served which includes turkey or ham and all the fixings . A really wonderful and affordable family fun time. The carriage rides were 15 minutes with a free pic and a lovely view of the grounds . Don't miss this in your holiday list of things to do ... two thumbs way up !

Yelp
On my final full day in Charlotte, I was debating whether to go to the NASCAR Hall of Fame or the Billy Graham Library. I passed by the former every day that I was staying uptown. I'm not a huge NASCAR fan. Then again, I am not a strongly religious person, either. However, I chose visiting the Billy Graham Library. I am so glad that I did. My dad watched Billy Graham preach the gospel on TV over the years. I have fond memories of watching them with him as a little girl. I remember at the end of each telecast that you could send your correspondence to an address in Minneapolis, MN. It's interesting that I would end up living in that state years later. The headquarters moved to Charlotte, NC, not too far from where Billy Graham was born and raised. Charlotte has Billy Graham Parkway, which honours how important his contributions were both locally and globally. His library highlights how wonderful a person he was and his contributions on this planet. I drove over to the library. There is plenty of parking at the library and admission is free. When you walk over to the library, you see the Graham family house on the left, which was his childhood home. On the right, you have the memorial gardens. Billy Graham died earlier this year. He is buried next to his wife, Ruth. There are also important memorial sites for Shea and Barrows, who contributed to Graham's ministry through music. Everyone is friendly. I offered to help take a photo of a group of three family members. One had difficulties using the other's phone, so I offered to take photos of them. In return, the woman asked if she could take my photo. Nice! I am horrible at taking selfies. I walked into the main entrance. Volunteers open the door and welcome you in. It's a wonderful place to learn about who Graham was. You get introduced to Bessie, a talking cow, and learn about Graham's upbringing. Each section of the library is themed. There is one room dedicated to his late wife, Ruth. I didn't realize that she was born in Shanghai, as her parents were missionaries. The video and information in this room showed just how much he loved and respected her. He spoke lovingly about her and admitted that she knew more about God than he did. There are tons of videos and artefacts throughout this amazing library. There was a briefcase that he used for over 25 years, for instance. I appreciated watching old footage of Graham preaching the gospel and how effective an orator he was. You also felt comforted when he reached out to everyone during hard times, such as the 911 attacks. I felt good visiting this library. There is something peaceful about being here and learning about a decent human being. If you want to buy souvenirs and books, you can purchase them at Ruth's Attic Bookstore. You are never forced to donate any money at the library. You can if you want to. You can also reach out and speak to a spiritual person if you want and pray in the prayer room. You can also visit the Graham Brothers Dairy Bar, and grab a bite or drink. The washrooms are cute, with huge basins and a country feel to them. If you fill out a feedback form and hand it in at the information desk, you get a small thank-you with a book, magnet, and information all in a tote bag. Again, you are never obligated to fill it out. I went ahead and signed the visitor book before I left. I helped take photos for another group of folks before paying my respects to the Grahams and more in the memorial area. I then visited the Graham family home, which was Billy Graham's childhood home. Whether you are a devout Christian or a tourist who isn't religious, I would recommend coming here for a visit. I learned a ton and felt even more hopeful than I already was after my visit. (150)

Yelp
(This review is for Dairy Bar, which is the restaurant at the BG Library.) I'll admit, this one is random even for me. But, I had a coupon for Dairy Bar and as a Charlotte native I have never been to the Billy Graham Library, so I thought why not? I had the bbq with cole slaw, and it was excellent. The meat had that great smokey flavor and the cole slaw was more vinegar than mayo, which I like. Didn't try any of the ice cream or desserts, but looked like a nice selection. Note - You can walk right up to the restaurant, so you don't have to do the tour if you don't want to.

Yelp
If you visit or are in the Charlotte area, please do yourself a favor and visit the Billy Graham Library! I didn't know much about the Library, but was so blown away. I had some family friends in town and they wanted to visit the Billy Graham Estate and Library. Not only is it a wonderful place to become closer to God, but you learn the life of Billy Graham. His miraculous rise from a young preacher to becoming the world famous preacher who met with leaders and presidents from around the world. I came away with such an appreciation for what he accomplished. The people that work there are some of the friendliest and happy people I have ever met. They also have a store and an area to grab a bite to eat so you can make a day of it. I had never had plans to visit, but I am so glad I did.

Yelp
What can I say about my visit to the library...I felt all kinds of emotions. I am a Christian: born and raised. This trip made me reminisce of my past, rethink my present, and dream of my future as a child of GOD. I learned through the tour that Billy Graham really walked with GOD during his lifetime. I struggle with that a lot, and this year didn't help me one: pandemic and all the worldly hate. I believe Billy Graham struggled fighting for what is right during his time as an evangelist, but he never lost faith and kept his path. The many quotes written and plastered on the walls gave me encouragement though. It calmed me a bit and made me forget the outside chaos while touring the place. "I've never seen a man who recieved God and regretted it." This quote rang so hard in my heart. Wish America knew this. Anyways to review this place I have to say 5 stars isn't enough. Parking is very spacious. All the staff are sweet and very informative. The tour is more than 1 hrs long. And best of all Mr and Mrs Graham are resting there. I was not able to see them when they were alive, but I had a chance to thank them for all the hard work they did for my parents' motherland. It was an honor to stand right there in front of their graves. I will definitely visit again when I am in NC. Don't hesitate to come here!

Yelp
I was in the area for free peach ice cream at the regional farmer's market when I noticed the Billy Graham Library was nearby. I'm not exceptionally religious and I don't attend church anymore, but my entire family is extremely involved in their personal relationships with Jesus, so I figured I'd go in and get them some merch. Plus it's rated as a top destination in Charlotte. The entrance was easy. Lots of trees for shade, which provided for a peaceful vibe. The parking lot is huge -- and quite packed -- and is directly next to Billy Graham's rebuilt childhood home and the library building, which has a large glass cross built into it. The idea is that we enter through the foot of the cross. A lovely older lady opened the door to the library, asked if it was my first visit, and told me to go to Information to get a pamphlet about the "Journey of Faith" tour. The woman who greeted me at the Information Desk was so sweet that I couldn't get myself to say, "I actually just came in for a magnet" and soon I was standing in front of a talking/singing cow waiting for the introductory presentation to begin. An hour and a half later, I had made my way through several videos documenting Billy Graham's life and that of his family members, a ton of artifacts, a room dedicated to his late wife, and even some international displays. The final room is aptly a salvation theater, where folks can hear the gospel message. Prior to walking in, cards are provided to say if you accepted Jesus into your heart or nah, and you can speak with a guest counselor after if you'd like to pray or learn more. Now I grew up in the church and under the influence of Graham's teachings. That provided a good base to understand his ministry. I'm not sure how the museum would feel without a similar background. I know they're welcoming to anyone and everyone, and the people working throughout seriously could not have been nicer, but I'm sure it's a different experience. I'd say if you want to learn about Christianity and Graham, this is a nice, nonjudgmental place to start. Now, there are things about and ideologies of Billy Graham that I personally do not like. He certainly hasn't been free from controversy over the years, and his family's outward, ongoing support of Donald Trump -- a horrible, disgusting man who degrades women, the disabled, and attacks the press whenever he can -- is truly mind-boggling to me. Just seeing Trump's face inside on the Presidents wall made me audibly cringe. I really do not like that man, and I don't see how he's any sort of testament to Christian teachings. But of course, I don't agree with all of Graham's own beliefs about women either. Like the so-called "Billy Graham rule" -- his practice of not spending alone time with women other than his wife before she passed away in 2007. I think that's outdated, absurd, and unrealistic. So I'd say going into the museum with an open mind is key, no matter your personal beliefs. Billy Graham, 98, is and has been a huge evangelist figure since 1949 in the States and across the globe. It is possible to view the museum primarily from a historical and cultural standpoint. Beyond the actual exhibits and videos, there's also a huge gift shop with loads of books. I picked out one for my mom about prodigal children, of who I technically am, so I know she'll love it. I also snagged some affordable home decor items for family members, and a couple bookmarks. I actually never even bought a magnet. After the bookstore, it's also possible to stop and eat in their on-site cafeteria. I opted to since I was hungry and it was right there/cheap. A combo chicken salad croissant, potato salad, and large coke only set me back $9.15. Nice! In addition to his home and the library building, there's also a small memorial garden where Graham's wife is buried. It's quite serene. On my way out the door, the same lady I spoke to earlier at Information asked about how I felt, encouraged me to take a visitor survey, and gave me a free etched tote with a prayer book and readings inside, which I will pass along. She said, "God bless you" as I left, and I returned the sentiment.

Yelp
Great way to spend a Saturday morning! Upon arrival I knew right away the staff would be super friendly and helpful. We arrived around 10am and the parking lot was already filling up with buses and cars. No charge for parking and in fact this whole "tour" is free. The first brick home you see on the left is the childhood home. Originally this home was on the corner of Park and Woodlawn. Literally the moved each brick and piece of floor one by one to this location. Each brick numbered. WOW! The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful. Music is playing as you walk and you can see the gravesites tucked away down the paths. The library itself looks really nice but must say that the items displayed do not do a sufficient job of telling Billy Grahams story. Would love to see more of the life and crusades. It starts with an intro from Bessie the cow and then you move along to seating where you watch a short video. Plenty of info on the funeral and letters to read. They have a bookstore with items to purchase and if you start to get a little hungry they have a café with plenty of space to sit and relax. Really enjoyed this day and I think telling the story more of the crusades and his life would be an added bonus and certainly deserve 5 stars experience.

Yelp
Must see if you are in the Charlotte area or vicinity. It is one of the most comprehensive and sincere historical tours I have visited . If you know who Rev.Graham it add details you may not have known or forgot, if you did not know of him??? You will learn what an exceptional man he was.

Yelp
The grounds are absolutely beautiful and peaceful. His childhood home is reconstructed perfectly. The library/museum itself left a little more to desire. I really would like to see more milestones of how he become the pastor to the world. There was a ton of stuff from his funeral just wish there was more on his life and teachings.

Yelp
What a gorgeous area to start. The grounds & the precious home of Billy Graham's family is just darling. The library it just breathtaking. Your greeted with the huge floor to roof glass cross. Inside you are greeted by awesome staff. They are kind & friendly & anxious to share with you any info on BG. Very nostalgic inside with a beautiful library & they have a tour of the property & also a diner inside which the smells coming from there were yummy. We loved every minute of our visit.

Yelp
Absolutely pristine! From the moment you enter through the giant cross, you are greeted and treated like royalty (which is not bad at all when you consider that entry is totally free!) Before embarking on the Journey of Faith, kicked off by Bessie the Cow, my wife and I enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Dairy Bar. We split a very fresh salad with grilled chicken ($8 w/fountain drink) and a pulled pork pork BBQ. We topped things off with a couple of $2 gingerbread men cookies and a coconut iced cupcake. The menu is simple otherwise but everything looked good. Service is superb. The Journey of Faith is an hour and a half tour thru 13 rooms and is expertly done. It details the life of Billy and Ruth Graham and most importantly his walk of faith. It is an interesting journey for both the Christ-follower and seeker alike. Beware however that it is a one-way trip with no bathrooms until near the end so... For Christmas, there is a live nativity, carriage rides ($8 adults, $4 kids), caroling and cocoa and cider for a reasonable $2 each. Again everything else is FREE, including eternal salvation. This place is definitely a Gotta Try. The grounds are relaxing and has lots of nooks and crannies, you could easily spend a half a day here, especially at Christmas!

Yelp
I wouldn't consider myself the most religious person, but the Billy Graham Museum is a MUST SEE in Charlotte. Don't know if I can guarantee an emotional experience as mine, but it is quite interesting and profound to be here! Initially, seeing this as the #1 sight to visit in Charlotte on Trip Advisor, I was really confused and (insert WTF face here) as to why a library about Christian Pastor Billy Graham was any bit interesting.... but oh my god, literally oh my god, I was amazed and kind of blown to tears being here this week. First of all, admission is free (not one of those we need money now institutions) and the semi guided tour is a tour about Billy Graham's life and his ministry around the world. This tour is about an hour and a half and also there are other great sights such as the burial site and the intricate architecture. Towards the end of the tour you go through this illuminated cross -- which seriously brought me to tears thinking about how many lives were lost this past weekend in Orlando and the pain and suffering in this world. Right after the tour, my "I need tissues for my crying and weak self" brought the attention of one of the counselors--who seemed like the type to shove his faith down my throat like the other counselors I was seeing--told me, "You sir are human to feel pain for others". Even though I don't share the same faith and might not fully see eye to eye, I loved seeing this act of passion and how he emphasized that faith is about loving people for who they are and who they can become, love and care is universal despite your religion..... Especially during such an emotional week for so many people, it was so life giving to be here. This was seriously a spiritually awakening experience and would easily call it one of the best sights in Charlotte.

Yelp
This was a great find while visiting Charlotte. Do not pass it up!!! I thought the whole experience was done in a very very moving and beautiful way. It's about his life but it's also the impact he had on so many people internationally. It's a beautiful place with manicured grounds with a magical experience. It definitely is worth the trip. It's free but does accept donations. This is a must do!!!!
