Had great time here while visiting Palm Springs during memorial weekend. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and how vintage it looks. Food was delicious and really hot (temperature wise). We stared with clam chowder which was so creamy thick and tasty. Then we were served our warm corn toast and date toast. Our main dish was the country fried stake which was one of the best if ever had. We got mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes as sides, really liked them. Highly recommend giving them a try and absolutely going back.

Had best time, great food and our server Jackie was so pleasant and fun. Definitely looking forward to going back another time. Reasonable prices and you can get lunch or even dinner for breakfast hour.

If they have peach pie, you have to get it. It was delicious!! Also, all the rest of the food was so good. Generous portions and great service!

Everyone was very nice. Including our waitress: and her helpers( waters, cleaning the table) Food was amazing: We went in at 1045am- half our party ate breakfast while the others got lunch! Amazing food, everything came out hot and fresh! Definitely will be back when we visit Palm Springs again-- thank you for sharing stories about the restaurant :)

My wife and I recently dined at Billy Reed's in Palm Springs, and we had a fantastic experience that deserves a 5-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. We ordered the pork chops and jerky chicken, both of which were delicious. The portion sizes were quite generous, which is great if you have a big appetite or want to share. For dessert, we tried the crack cake, and it was a nice treat to finish off our meal. The environment of the restaurant was clean and inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere for dinner. The service was attentive and efficient, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We also appreciated the non-alcoholic drink options available, making it an inclusive choice for everyone. Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed our time at Billy Reed's and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining experience in Palm Springs. Sources

Billy Reed's is a great place to grab a wonderful meal at a reasonable price. This place has been here since 1975 and is a staple in the Palm springs community! We had two eggs over easy hash browns and rye bread toast. The coffee was hot and wonderful. The decor is classic 1975 but updated clean and sharp. We definitely will be back!

Google
It’s a perfectly held time capsule. Not just the atmosphere, but the food as well. Good old fashioned preparation and quality. The hamburger is made from ground chuck steak. The club is a char grilled chicken breast instead of some out of the wrapper “lunch meat”. Got the King Bacon Cheeseburger & The Club. Finished with the Carrot Cake. Pepsi & Diet Pepsi.

Yelp
If you're looking for some delicious food and beautiful decor that won't break the bank in Palm Springs, especially near the convention center, Billy Reed's is a must-visit. The moment you step inside, you're transported to a charming 1950s-era setting. The decor is immaculate--beautifully maintained with an inviting vintage flair that feels both nostalgic and upscale. One of the standout features is the stunning stained glass, which adds a unique touch of elegance and color to the space. The bar, with its solid wooden structure, feels like a cozy retreat in itself and reflects the same care and craftsmanship found throughout the restaurant. The food? Absolutely stellar. I ordered the meatloaf, and for just $26, it was a hearty, delicious, and satisfying plate that would easily rival more expensive spots. My dining companions were equally impressed--their dishes were generously portioned and also priced around $26, making Billy Reed's an exceptional value for both quality and quantity. My dish came with banana bread (other other carb option), split pea soup (or salad), and fries (or rice) Whether you're in town for a convention or just exploring Palm Springs, Billy Reed's offers a warm, nostalgic atmosphere with seriously good food. Almost forgot to mention the service was extremely attentive. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Wow! Cant believe I've never been here before. Walking in, this place will take you back in time. Such a unique looking restaurant with so many things that catch your eye. They don't make them like this anymore! Super extensive menu. We came in for dinner, but looks like you can order breakfast and lunch at anytime here, which is pretty awesome. For dinner, i had the prime rib meal ($44). Prime rib was tender and didn't have as much fat as other places that I've ordered prime rib. This meal came with split pea soup, garlic bread, mashed potatoes and zucchini. Their homemade horseradish sauce was really good! Everything i ate here was really good! My mom had a chicken piccata dish. She really enjoyed the tender chicken with this meal. Our server was really friendly. Everything came out in a timely manner. Highly recommend checking out this historic restaurant on your next palm springs visit!

Yelp
Tried this place on on a whim. It was close to where we were staying so that made it easy too. The vibe is Disneyland's Haunted House x Thr Shining. Taking a cue from The Simpsons, we referred to Billy Reeds as 'The Shinning. It is a neat establishment. Unlike today's restaurants in strip malls, this is a standalone restaurant with huge parking and easy in out from either street. There's even a big koi pond out front. Regarding the food... it's a huge menu. Breakfast is served all day (except for a couple of items which are explicitly called out on the menu). There are also different substitutions available for no additional charge. The first night we went out for dinner, I had the double pork chop dinner. The meal came with soup or salad. I opted for the clam chowder. I will say that this is far from the best clam chowder I have ever had. Nor was it close to being the worst. It was average. However, they don't scrimp on the class. It definitely could NOT be mistaken for potato chowder with a few clams. It was nothing but clams! So definitely a bonus. However it lacked seasoning. Even after adding salt, it's a bit bland. Also no oyster crackers or any type of crackers came with it. My entree came with two thin pork chops. But they were breaded and slightly seasoned. Cooked nicely. Just needed some more herbs and spices. Under the chops was stuffing (or dressing depending in what region you're from). It was nice and dry, the way I like it. I hate wet/moist stuffing. It wasn't anything mind-blowing...it could've been from a box but it was fine. Opted for cornbread as my bread option (they have a bunch) without an upcharge. The cornbread was a big square slice but it was dry and had little flavor. I ended up crumbling it into my clam chowder which worked nicely for both. My wife had the chicken pot pie. Again, on the bland side, but chock full of chicken. The gravy had a great texture. The pie crust on top was super flaky and buttery. Tabasco helped this dish a lot, as did some additional salt and pepper. Can't remember what the kiddo had but they have the standard children's menu fare. She did thoroughly enjoy her fudge sundae though. My SO and I split a Boston creme pie. Nice custard, not too sweet and the cake was light and airy. The prices are amazing. For the quantity and quality of the food, this place is definitely justified. So.much so that we came back and had breakfast after checking out of our hotel before heading home Basically the same, Lot of food, great prices, a little on the bland side but you can always add your own salt, pepper and/or hot sauce to church things up. The cinnamon roll was a definite hit. Fluffy, big, and warm but not too sweet. Was worried that it was a cavity waiting to happen because the icing looked a bit much but no, it's spot on for sweetness. Perfect for pulling off a piece and dunking into coffee. Will definitely come back the next time we are in town again.

Yelp
The service is amazing; however, the flavor of the food is bland for those of us trying to eat healthier options. My daughter absolutely loved it and they have such a pretty ambiance!

Yelp
A blast from the past!! A kind stranger we met at the art center the day before recommended BIlly Reed's after we bonded over searching for New York style pizza in California! He kept explaining the place almost apologetically, but I assured him that both retro food and restaurants were my thing! My husband and I both got it the moment we walked in the door! You see, our town is home to that perfectly preserved piece of 70's kitsch called the Madonna Inn. If you are familiar with the Madonna Inn, Billy Reed's is a kissing cousin with lots of the same DNA. A real oasis in the desert, the dark wood, baroque wall paper, and stained glass lighting recall a neo-Victorian fern bar from the 70's or 80's. The menu is pure abondanza, with something for everyone, and lots of it. We were seated by a friendly server, who gave us menus, and filled water glasses immediately graced the table. The menu is a sight to behold, and a reminder that California is home to most of the food production in the country. Be sure to note that all entrees come with soup or salad, a vegetable and a choice of bread. Salads boast this addition as well. My husband chose clam chowder and a half a ham sando, which came with cole slaw and a dill pickle, while I got the half-sized order of avocado stuffed with chicken salad, which arrived looking like a complete Cobb salad, with beets, a hardboiled egg, sliced cucumber, and a tomato on the side. Once I tasted the chicken salad, my sense memory kicked in, and I knew that it tasted like my favorite salad at the Madonna Inn! I also got a bonus mini loaf of date bread with butter along with my salad. When the bill came, it was very reasonable, so you could treat yourself more than once when visiting Palm Springs. As we exited, admiring the koi in the pond out front, memories of fern bars and late lunches danced in my head~

Yelp
Old-school restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner are a favorite of mine, and Billy Reed's did not disappoint. Deliciously juicy panko-crusted calamari strips were so scrumptiously deep-fried that we inhaled the entire plateful before I could even snap a picture. So tender and so juicy. A perfect starter. My dining partner gave two thumbs up to his cobb salad, and buttery, salty shrimp made my Caesar salad with garlic bread a real treat. Then I was ready for a slice of coconut cream pie. With its classic menu, distinctive décor, homey atmosphere, and friendly service, Billy Reed's is a time machine ready to take you back to the 1970s. And the bill won't break the bank. There's so much to love here. We'll be back. ++++++++++++ I'm adding to this review 2 days later to say that we did go back for shrimp cocktails and calves' liver & onions. The liver was the best I have ever had at any restaurant. Ever. Perfectly griddled slices of liver were smothered under a pile of fried onions, almost caramelized. Two strips of tender bacon topped the liver, and with a generous portion of hollandaise atop the bacon, this rich feast will last in memory. If you love tender, succulent calves' liver, you really must go to Billy Reed's. I can hardly wait to return. ++++++++ Okay, 5 days later and we came back AGAIN for calamari and the lo-cal plate. See the pics. OMG. So good. Love me some Billy Reed's! I'll be back next year.

Yelp
We didn't want to deal with finding parking and walking to eat. It's too hot! Stumbled across this place. The breakfast was great! Pancakes, sausage, bacon and eggs for $15. The menu only showed beer and wine but on the way out I saw a bar. Will stay for a mimosa next time. Loved the decor and found the building beautiful. Super friendly staff and very attentive.

Yelp
The food here is always delicious and they usually serve a good amount. The service is very attentive and nice. The ambiance is very vintage and love the fish pond. I definitely recommend this spot, no need to wait in line, they have plenty of space to serve you.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that the ambiance and service are as advertised- comfortable, classy, attentive, just all together very comfortable! My husband and I ate dinner around 5pm and we were definitely the youngest ones there (hey, we were on east coast time!). The shrimp cocktail was delicious- lots of celery in the sauce. We also each got a generously sized house salad with house "red" Italian dressing which was very nice. My husband loved his meatloaf and mashed potatoes- no notes! I was looking for something lighter with protein and fiber so I opted for chili. The bowl was very large but the chili was just ok- probably wouldn't pick this one again (not much tomato action, which I like in a chili, and the cheese was not cheddar). Everything came with bread, so I got cornbread and my husband opted for garlic bread. All this to say, even if you opt for something seemingly lighter like a bowl of soup you can still get really full! We were curious enough to try the deserts- the Boston cream pie was tasty and the egg pudding was interesting (tasted like eggnog). Definitely a cool and comfortable experience, even though the food isn't the stuff dreams are made of (at least for me).

Yelp
Dinner was 4.5 stars. Lunch was 2stars. Dinner: 5pm-ish, chicken pot pie was excellent. Hubby's meatloaf was pork and beef and he enjoyed it. Mashed potatoes were yummy. My banana nut bread was warm and melted the butter, just yummy. Italian dressing was homemade and excellent! Rum cake dessert had too much rum so that the cake inside was slightly soggy. Lemon meringue pie was great, but very strong tartness to it. The service was prompt. Booths comfy. Loved the red chandeliers. Overall great first meal ever. Lunch: we returned the next day. 2:30p ish. My hubby's codfish fingers was not thoroughly cooked in the center. This dish was deleted off the bill. Cup of chili had grated American processed cheese instead of cheddar. Garlic bread needed more garlic. Banana nut bread was not warm enough to melt the butter. My beef patty melt had the American processed cheese melt but on the bread side. Expected real cheddar cheese. Service was still prompt. Overall did not care for this lunch meal. Overall. The food would have been a 4.5 but the lunch moved it down to a 3, imo.

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely and charming with throwbacks to my time in England. Lots of warm wood and other nice decor. I got the steak sandwich with potato salad. The potato salad was cold and nice. The steak sandwich had a great piece of bread, cheese, as well as a hearty portion of meat, grilled bell peppers, and onions. I enjoyed it until I got a HUGE chunk of gristle or something in that piece of meat which caused me to gag and spit it out. I paid for my food and left. I won't be getting that again.

Yelp
Super solid old school restaurant and food. Portions are massive! I loved my double pork chop which was so tender inside and a little crispy on the outside. It made for 2 meals. The garlicky zucchini was very good and the baked potato was loaded up. And to think to comes with a cup of soup and a cornbread to boot! We came close to closing after a long day at J-Tree and they graciously welcomed us! A comfy place that was welcome to end the day.
google avatar

Brianna M.

Yelp
Vintage charm and good service. Ambiance reminds me of the knotts Berry farm restaurant. Food portions were generous. Food was very "old fashioned" and reminded me of my grandparents. The fries were very crispy and the ranch was good as well. The things I didn't like as much... the Caesar dressing was too fishy and in my opinion the bbq sauce on the ribs was too sweet but the meat was fall of the bowl tender so it was still good overall.
google avatar

Javier S.

Yelp
I had the fish and chips tonight for dinner. The fish was four piece cod, tasty. The chips were fried to perfection, super crunchy. The fried were good too. The coleslaw was particularly delicious. It was creamy and had a nice red wine vinegar kick, subtle but there. Service was good as well, super friendly staff :) The atmosphere was the usual, classy and comfortable.

Yelp
A hidden gem with lots of history, nearly 50 years worth! Described as a capsule with the rustic charm to match, tons of decor to highlight the 70s and 80s since Billy Reed's opened its doors in 1975. I wanted to enjoy some company, conversation and a lite start to the day with one of my favorite people in the world, my friend Art who's been a local resident for the last five years. I'd heard the name Billy Reed's but didn't know much of it or what to expect. Parking easily, surrounded by trees, touches of shade and lots of spaces. When we walked up to this huge place with a gorgeous Koi pond just before the foot of the entrance I knew what to expect even less lol. Coming in through the doors to the hall just before the doors to the main entrance you get a shift in weather before the magic of room temp cool. On the right is beautiful casual seating, a huge lounge tea room meets a grand living room showroom. Lamps, fixtures, oil painted art, pictures, mirrors and a huge fireplace. To the left and even around the corner of the wall is an endless space of various rooms and seating... It's like a restaurant, home and estate all rolled into one. You'll note some cool signs like a vintage cash register, capacity sign and detailed paneling. Typically not a coffee drinker, but very much enjoyed theirs - very toasted bold blend. Art had a very eggy brek - and I opted for some classic home fries, toast (no butter) and a side of avocado. Billy Reeds has a huge assortment... plus "Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner served anytime." Note: Oatmeal is only served until 11AM, however: Enjoy Sandwiches, Burgers, Plates, Entrees for the AM and PM (think Omelettes, Pancakes, Waffles, Grilled, Roasted or Broiled dinners) Wraps (veggie for me - hold the cheese) Appetizers (tons, including onions rings, chips and guac... don't mind if I do). If I were hungrier and/or my next trip in I would definitely try more as they do have some choice veggie options - loads of vegetarian and some solid vegan friendly as well. Plus they're willing to accomodate, friendly, warm, easy going and attentive. Drink options are abundant, from juices to soft drinks and loads of classic non-alcoholic beverages for all. For adult favs Billy Reeds has: Beers including domestic, imported and draft though limited to a handful of each - same with wine (red and white) Desserts are very cakes, pies, ice cream plus a few misc items like cinnamon rolls. Loads of options for wear to dine from the bar to booths to all types of tables. Small or larger group ready. Billy R's is the place to be for any meal time of day as early as 8AM until 9PM any day of the week.

Yelp
This place definitely transports you to a different era. Not in a good way too.... you walk in and all of a sudden I can't help but feel like I'm in the cafeteria of a nursing home. The darkness the carpet on the floor the decor, everything is just old or as we like to call it "vintage." The clientele here is overwhelmingly 70 and above. I felt extremely out of place here with my group. They have a huge menu of food items to choose from. With all day breakfast, lunch and dinner. I went with the meatloaf which came with a starch (I went sweet potatoe) and some vegetables. Also their dinner comes with a soup or salad (i went salad) as well as a banana nut bread. Food here comes out really quick. The banana nut bread was really good. Warm and fresh out of the oven. Salad was fresh and light. The meatloaf was a large portion with heaps of gravy on top. Unfortunately it was lacking in flavor. I guess the majority of their clientele are on a low salt diet..... so it required an extremely large amount of salt added. You know this place is for the older crowd when the only thing they have playing on their TV is golf.... the area where the bathroom is located looks like your walking thru a haunted house. Just old, drab, dark and generally eerily scary and unsettling to walk thru. It's definitely not my cup if tea. Maybe in 40 years, who knows, it maybe more my speed by then....

Yelp
A staple in palm springs living . Go for your birthday and the staff will sing to you and give you a piece of cake on the house .

Yelp
Take a step back in time! Remember the fancy diner your grsndparents took you to - it's still here! Dated to the point of being nostalgic. Wide selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very gracious and attentive service. Probably the best prime rib dinner in town - huge portion and cooked to perfection. Koi pond outside can entertain the youngsters. The somewhat qurcky thing is the identical prices on almost all menu items - from mac-n-cheese to the full steak dinners.

Yelp
Cool old school hidden gem! Came here as a recommendation from another foodie we met when we both discovered our other choice was closed for a month. He was a local and recommended this place for us, boy were we in for a treat. We loved the old school charm of the interior and stepped back into time with a huge menu of many old time dishes. There was 6 of us and we ordered everything from the cheesesteak to a fried chicken steak dinner! Yummmm food & drinks were prompt and tasty. Prices were fair. I had a 1/2 a chicken salad sandwich & the clam chowder. The chowder was amazing very chunky with clams and maybe crab & shrimp? Really good. The pies on the back of the menu OMG don't leave without trying one so good! Looking forward to my next visit to PS so I can go back and try more

Rezza A.

Yelp
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was good. Staff were friendly. Calm and inviting ambiance. We were just passing through Palm Springs but I'm glad we found this restaurant. Will def come again when we're in town. 10/10 would recommend!
google avatar

Larry C.

Yelp
I've been several times since the last review. Improvements since then particularly at breakfast. The prices ran a bit high, not unexpected given everything has become more costly. However, the prime rib was not worth the cost - it was kind of tough - had to saw through it. Both I and my dinner companion had the same thing - it was not-so-hot and I'd be unlikely to order it again. The liver and onions here is "to die for". And the fish and chips is great.
google avatar

Yelp
My first choice when visiting Palm Springs. Quality retro comfort food. A well-run restaurant. Waits are always short, service is quick, and everyone seems happy to be there. If you are lucky you will get to meet Billy Reed - he is still working after running the restaurant for 50 years. Enormous menu - there is something on it for everyone. Generous portions and extras with every meal. I recommend especially the hot fudge sundae. Not many places left where you can go to a full-service restaurant and get a sundae in a glass goblet. The decor is 1895 meets 1975. I hope they never change. The city of Palm Springs should make this a historic landmark. Take some time to stop and watch the koi and turtle pond before you go inside.
google avatar

Yelp
This place rules! . It's' like stepping into a comfort food time machine. Billy Reed's is a place out of time. An establishment that never left the 70's. Dark wood, stained glass lighting fixtures and deep cozy booths. It's a place for the older generations to feel nostalgic and for the younger ones to get a sense of the magic they missed. Billy Reed's is the kind of place that has something for everybody. I highly recommend the meatloaf. The service is top notch, incredibly attentive and friendly and full of suggestions. This is one of those places where your drinks never get empty. The menu is expansive but not in a bad way like The Cheesecake Factory. Its page after page of comfort food stapes from meatloaf, turkey and gravy to breakfast anytime. One of my new favorite spots in palm springs for a nice low key dinner among others that appreciate such a unique place.

Yelp
Billy Reed's a true flagship restaurant in Palm Springs since 1975. Billy Reed's hits the mark in terms top quality food, superior table side service in atmosphere of eloquence. I ordered their Chicken Fried Steak dinner and it was truly delicious. The dinner starts with your choice of soup or salad, I chose the calm chowder was stick and creamy load with calms and so flavorful and a slice of garlic toast was served to me. As I was finishing my soup my main arrived at the table, my steak was tender and juicy, the white country gravy was thick, creamy and flavor packed, the mashed potatoes were buttery fluffy delight, the spinach was cooked al denti and had an excellent flavor as well The service was was excellent, the servers came by to make sure I wanted for nothing with my coffee cup and water glass was kept full during the entire meal. Billy Reed's is and has been one of my go to eateries in Palm Springs that never disappoints.
google avatar

Juan F.

Yelp
A Palm Springs classic. It's hard to make out what the decor is trying to convey, but who cares. It's like a nice dining room on a cruise ship or in a lodge in a national park. Had one of my favorites, the patty melt. It was delicious. I had it with the potato chips (highly recommened) The wait staff is terrific and it's just fun to go there. Plenty of parking outside.
google avatar

Gail M.

Yelp
Billy Reed's is a restaurant like no other, complete with Koi Pond & they will give you a handful of fish food too! The food is always consistently good as is the staff. Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there is something on their menu to please you!

Yelp
Yesterday I was enjoying a day in Palm Springs with underprivileged two teens and wanted to treat them to a nice lunch. We were all tired from walking in the heat and when we got our boxes left the table. While exiting we stopped at the bathroom on the way out. We totally forgot about the check! Our server hadn't brought it and our brains were fried. While sitting outside the bathroom the manager/owner comes over and does a weird confrontation about it. I immediately was like oh my gosh I totally forgot. He then kept going on it. And yeah dude. I just said I forgot. And I am here and obviously intend to pay the bill. When we go up to the counter I try to make things like and say that I blame the the heat and he is still very weird about it. Like I am here and paying. I can't help but feel like because of the kids I had with me I was treated in a certain way. Or maybe this guy is just an uptight jerk generally? Not sure but don't know why he is doing anything that is customer service. He's very bad it.
google avatar

James J.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the service is great. And the desserts were amazing. Wish I found this place sooner.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
A great restaurant been there since 73 or 1975 food is great. Service is wonderful Been there many, many times I don't think I've ever been disappointed. Great service. It kinda looks old fashioned inside light, something that you would find in new orleans
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Definitely old school and well loved by locals. I'm a fan! Had the prime rib and it was perfect. My other half had the meatloaf. He reported it was delicious.
google avatar

Edan D.

Yelp
Although we were seated quickly, I specifically asked the manager if she could tell our waiter that there was someone in my party who I was celebrating their birthday. She replied "I will tell your waiter"! Well that never happened. Until I was gonna pay my bill and said that I was disappointed that they never told our waiter. I then saw her sneak up to our waiter as we were trying to leave and I heard her say "That table has a birthday!" Well I'm sorry to late we had already ordered desert, and ate our desert. The waiter "Thomas" who was to the point without much personality, became real nice saying "I'm sorry I had no idea it was someone's birthday,, they never told me!" He then took off one of our deserts which was truly appreciated, but doesn't excuse the managers failure to do what she said she would do. Our turkey, and Pot roast was delicious as was our cherry pies. Hate off to the chef. Our busboy was also amazing. Always on top of our drinks. The ambiance in this place is always nostalgic, warm and welcoming. Always clean as well.
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
My husband like this kind of restaurants so here we are. He had liver with bacon/onions. I had the pot roast. Both came with a side salad and some bread. Tasted like food from a diner, everything cooked just like homemade. Generous portion. Wait staff efficient and professional, quiet ambiance. We went again for their prime rib few days later--it was really good and thick! Good value for price paid. Yes....many mature diners:-)

Yelp
Great old school restaurant/diner with a wide array of options, including breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime you like. Servers are very friendly and professional. Love the tuna melt and chicken pot pie. If you are having a hard time deciding where to eat, Billy Reed's is always a good, dependable option when in Palm Springs.
google avatar

Yelp
I actually have been coming here since 1975. I remember this place as a kid before they expanded. They are still as busy as ever. Wonderful hostess and the the waiter was super nice and friendly. So glad to see the place just as packed from years ago. I had to be in P.S. for the day and on my out, stopped off at Billy Reeds. Yes, it was 88 degrees outside but I used to love their split pea soup and I still loved it today. Had a bowl and a half of a curry cashew chicken sandwich. Also, topped it off with a slice of lemon meringue pie for dessert. So fresh and light. I would tell the pie was fresh because the meringue held it shape, wasn't sticky and was super light. Thank you for the great lunch and the wonderful trip down memory lane.

Yelp
This is a unique restaurant in Palm Springs. We felt like we stepped back in time entering this restaurant. Red interior with lots of eccentric decor items. The staff was all friendly and our server helped us decide on our dinner options. The menu is large and has a lot to choose from. I got the pot pie which was good and super hot right out of the oven. We would stop here again.

Yelp
Love the ambience & decor. It is a great spot in Palm Springs, on a Sunday we had no wait. The place is large enough to accommodate big parties. Food was good. We ordered breakfast; eggs, country sausage, hashbrowns, and don't forget the caramel pecan cinnamon roll that was out of sight!!! Drinks were wonderful. It's all about the feeling you get from a spot and I feel like I'm at a loved ones home who gave a big hug via food like Grandma. Ps Jackie our server was amazing!

Yelp
I love the chicken piccata here. Mashed potatoes, zucchini, and comes with a dinner salad, blue cheese dressing. And a piece of garlic toast.......it never disappoints A+++

Yelp
You can always count Billy Reed's for good home style comfort food at a reasonable price. We have been occasionally eating there for 20 years and the service is great! Their homemade soups and desserts are fantastic! The restaurant is huge and many of our friends have told us that the decor reminds them of an old classic casino in Las Vegas.

Yelp
I work for a non profit organization and we had called ahead of time to see if they can accommodate our group of 40 people. They said they would be able to put us in the backroom where they have space. Upon arrival we were instantly hit with rude customer service. I walked in to let them know we had arrangements previously, to which they replied with the hostess waving her finger in my face and saying "we said we could seat you there IF the backroom was available, and it's not." Why offer an area of your restaurant if it's not available? We told them how many people we were expecting, so for them to suggest the backroom when it's not even available is absurd. I understand if there was a miscommunication and was willing to work something out, but the way this was handled was not appropriate. After trying to explain what we were told, the hostess interrupted me and waived her hand in my face and said "that's a lie, that's not what I said." Even if there was a miscommunication along the way, instantly hitting a customer with rudeness and unprofessionalism the moment they walk in is unacceptable.

Yelp
Jackie is the best server. My parents go here regularly and Jackie makes them feel at home. It's an older place however it's clean and rustic on the inside. The Koa pond at the front entrance is absolutely fabulous. I enjoy looking at them and the turtles. The food is above average and the prices not too bad. The grilled sour is one of my favorites next to their fish tacos.

Yelp
My go to restaurant in Palm Springs. Never had a bad meal here in over 45 years! The service is friendly and efficient. The ambiance of the dining room is just amazing. My family has dined here since they moved to the Desert back in 1976. Was so excited to bring my husband on his first trip to PS and he fell in love with it too! We literally ate here three of our seven days. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
So- I consider myself a connoisseur of a very narrow subset of cuisine; that being liver-based dishes. I think any restaurant bold enough to place liver & onions on their menu deserves three stars on yelp just out of respect for the attempt, but let's now talk about why Billy Reed's gets my vote as best I've ever had. It's all about the combination of the three most important aspects of a good L&I dish: texture and flavor of the medium-cooked liver; consistency of the onions; and the inventive twist on the classic that sends a four star effort into five star territory. It's tough to keep liver from being... well, tough. The process starts with the thickness of the cut and then goes to the coating and finally to the evenness of heat. Great job, BR- nailed it. Next, the onions. There needs to be good caramelization of course, but it's also important have some on the crispy side with NONE undercooked. BR gets kudos here as well. But here's where Billy Reed's separates from the pack- the dish is finished with bacon and hollandaise sauce! Think of the best eggs Benedict you've ever had and replace the egg with onions, the English muffin with liver, and the Canadian bacon with bacon. Boom. Five stars. I go to Palm Springs about once a year, and I will never not come here and carve out time to order this dish. You should never not do that either, you'll be missing out on quite a treat. PS the atmosphere and service are also top notch but if I'm being honest they could've served me their liver & onions with one of those little food robots in a 7-11 parking lot and I'd still give it 4-1/2 stars.

Yelp
RUDE bartender needs to retire. Seriously. Second time we've given the grumpy old grouch at the bar there a chance. First time was for the prime rib a few months ago (had to ask for menu, then served rudely) Second time was yesterday for lunch - thought we'd have some food with a drink. Wrong. We're never even offered a menu (let alone a smile or anything at all friendly from him) After finishing our drinks, we didn't even want to order food from him. We've been to the restaurant section many times and have enjoyed the food and service. Jackie is awesome! NOT HIM. The restaurant would behoove themselves to get rid of him. They will make more money and keep their customers.

Yelp
This place is a whole vibe and I don't mean you will find a neon sign in a corner, illuminating that concept. From the moment we drove into the parking lot, I could just tell this place was from a bygone era. Walking through the front doors confirmed it. The entire place which consists of the restaurant, bar area and dance floor exuded an endearing old-world charm with its vintage decor and timelessness. Stellar service from the staff, I loved how easy going and funny they were! My husband ordered the corned beef hash breakfast and I went for the Belgium waffle with peaches and whipped cream as a topping since it's now in season. The corned beef is made in house and you can taste the quality, and my sweet breakfast was exactly what I was craving. The food was brought out at the perfect temperature. Did I mention the service was impeccable? Shout out to Eric Dressen for recommending this spot! What an awesome time capsule to step into as we embarked on our adventure in the desert.

Yelp
If you're visiting Palm Springs and looking for a kid friendly place to have dinner this is your spot. Good options for kids and adults. The service was attentive and there were plenty of families dining even though it was near 8pm when we visited. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a relaxed ambiance!
