Luxurious food in a non intimidating environment. We had two local oysters and mussels in an excellent white wine sauce (pictures), fish and chips with locally caught fish, margherita pizza and a strawberry milkshake. It was all perfecktly cooked. The beach bar looked great and the view along the coast is breath taking.

Adhoc walking stop enroute to Portland Bill. Great atmosphere & colourful environment. Friendly service. Lovely sea views and sheltered from the wind. Crispy Mackerel bap went down well with a draft Pale Ale.

Lovely place to have some fresh, tasty food. Nice choice of local seafood (oysters, mussels, crab, fish) and location is right by the beach, overlooking Weymouth and Portland. Covered area but not spoiling the views for windy and drizzly days.

Really nice. Stopped here for lunch and the food was good. Really liked the tartar sauce with the fish and chips! Really friendly staff and clean facilities inside including baby change :)

Visited with family this evening expecting a nice experience and nice meal. Ordered the “Coconut + Chili monkfish tacos” - £19.50. Was given 3 small tacos with 1 small breaded “monkfish” piece on each. No coconut or chili flavour. Debatable whether it was actually monkfish as there was also breaded John Dory on the menu which it seemed more likely to be. Disappointed that the chef did not come out to justify the meal. Sadly won’t be coming back again due to the meal not matching the description on the menu or the price asked for.

A wonderful place at the beach with super delicious sea food and also pizza and fish and chips. Among other things we had some oysters and the mussels - both were a dream! Warm blankets for cold weather are a lovely touch, although we were lucky to get a place indoors, and even outdoors was well protected from the wind.

A holiday treat. The location is great, and the food is delicious. It's not the cheapest, but it's worth it. Soak up the atmosphere just feet from the sea. Comfortable seating, quick service, and helpful staff. You can also launch your boat or paddleboard here...

Lovely place to eat by the sea, food was lovely, family of 4 and a dog, dog was welcome and it was a lovely chilled vibe. Burgers very tasty! My son had the fish and chips and said it was very good too. Prices fair and all food fresh. Staff very welcoming and although it was busy they managed to deal with it very well. I only gave 4 stars for service as we had been left a long time with empty places on the table and to order puddings and drinks took a while. Great place, highly recommend and will come back if visiting the area again.

Note: Billy Winters is closed on a Monday and Tuesday. They don't even have the sign out front on those days, so it's easy to drive past and miss it. When they are open though ... Well, what can I say - I've toured a lot of towns and cities in the USA and I'm a huge fan of the dive bar. This place is the closest thing to a beach / dive bar I've found in the UK, just sadly missing a bit of the dive as it was well lit, clean and my shoes didn't stick to the floor. You can bring your own dive by visiting on a wet and windy day and trying to eat outside if you're desperate though :) The range of food on the menu isn't massive, but what they do do, they do do well. Everything that the three of us in my party had there (on both visits) was great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beers were cold. The cocktails were excellent - visiting from London, I wasn't sure what to make of the 'liquid to ice' ratio - I'm used to a cocktail being mostly ice with a dash of £10 spirit over the top, but these ... these were cocktails that you could actually drink instead of sucking on! The view is spectacular too. Depending on the time of day, you'll get to watch stand up paddlers fall down, kite surfers touring the harbour or just watch the sailboats and navy tubs. Between the Pizza and the slow cooked things, I'l have a hard time making a choice when we go back. But no matter what I have, I'm having a side of the sweet potato fries! It was very hard to believe that this is owned by the same person who owns and runs the Crab House Cafe just down the road. But that's a topic for a different review, and I'm hungry now ...
