Billy's Burgers and Bar

Billy is extremely friendly and welcoming, which already makes the experience great from the start. The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is light and relaxed. The menu offers several tasty and well-thought-out options, including great choices for kids and vegetarians. Definitely a great spot for a quick bite before exploring the Hobart waterfront or before taking the ferry to MONA. Would absolutely recommend!

I have been here a few times and never had a bad experience. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They offer interesting cocktail choices which are like an alcoholic lollies bar..not my style but I like the creativity. The burgers are tasty and the chips and onion rings are really good. I usually eat in as it is a good vibe..at lunch with families around and in the evenings with younger people before they go out. And being situated right at the harbour front it's easy to get to and from.

Pulled pork loaded fries are a standout - like amazing. The burgers however are nothing amazing, not bad but not wow. Service is good and the shop itself is clean and comfy. Also a bit overpriced Edit: And yes the photo is from a couple years ago but I’ve definitely had the pulled pork fries recently (in the last few months) and they were still good 🤪

Amazing location at Elizabeth Street Pier! I‘ve only been once, but I enjoyed dining there. Good food, solid price.

Billy, Billy, Billy... Having been a huge fan of this American-style burger restaurant for years now, our latest experience was anything but what we expected. What was arguably the best loaded fries ive ever eaten (with a cheesy sauce, pulled pork, pickles, and more) has descended into a choice of 3 options with the pulled pork one priced at $20, so I ran with the cheesy sauce with bacon at a little over $13. After spending $22.50 on a mixed platter - which my wife described as disgusting and couldnt finish - and $35 on a Big Billy burger for a total bill of more than $60, I just couldn't justify the pork option. The cheesy sauce was like a canned mac cheese sauce I had in Karft Mac n Cheese packs as a kid, that made me feel sick by the end of the meal so I couldn't finish it. I tried the jalepino poppers, onion rings and mac and cheese bites from my wife's platter, which seemed to be from frozen food packs, and my wife said the buffalo chicken was dry and not enjoyable. To be fair, the burger tasted okay - but nothing better than a Maccas Big Arch Burger that was a third of the price. I felt ill after the meal from the sugars, carbs and greasiness and didnt eat again at dinner. My wife and I will never return. Wouldn't eat at Billy's again if it was free. Overpriced, poor quality and tasteless platter, a shocking step back in the quality of loaded fries that used to be epic, a tasty burger, but generally a dreadful dining experience. Don't waste your money here. This just isn't the same Billy's.

Great customer service, accomodating the vegans in our group. Burgers were very tasty and reasonably priced. Very relaxed atmosphere with no need to pre book a table. Would recommend Billy’s Burgers to hit the hunger spot 👍

A very welcoming greeting as you enter through the door. Sitting next to the window, looking out across the pier. We ordered Mrs Billy chicken burger & classic burger. Saturday is all day $10 cocktails. Staff were very polite & offered great service with tasty food.

The burgers were absolutely delicious and the service was great. I spent a week travelling around Hobart, and this was honestly the best meal I had during the whole trip. Highly recommend if you’re in Hobart!
