11 Best Villas in Punta Cana for Destination Weddings, Group Trips, & Family Travel | Condé Nast Traveler

"I would recommend this gargantuan luxury villa for large celebrations: with eight bedrooms, ten baths, unparalleled oceanfront views, and a multi-level pool that trickles down to the sand, it’s an ultra-lavish, secluded residence featuring avant‑garde living rooms, futuristic spiral staircases, a crystal chandelier that mimics rainfall, and a refined open bar—I can easily imagine it as the backdrop for a Kardashian-style getaway or a destination wedding." - Asher Luberto

We chose this hotel based on the many positive reviews, and the photos online looked very appealing. Upon arrival, however, our first impression was a bit underwhelming. The reception area is quite small and could benefit from some updates, which gave the property more of a motel-style feel rather than the resort atmosphere we were expecting. While it may not fully live up to a 4-star standard, the hotel does have some nice features. The balcony with an ocean view was a highlight, the pools are spacious, and the location is excellent — just a one-minute walk to Walgreens, Publix, and a variety of restaurants and cafés. For us, the value felt a little high at $180 per night including taxes and fees, especially when compared with other options in the area, but guests who aren’t bothered by some dated details may still find it a pleasant stay.

Our experience at Bilmar Beach Resort was absolutely fantastic. The location right on the beach is amazing. Staff members were extremely friendly. Patty at the front desk really took great care of us. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets every evening. Highly recommend this resort! We will definitely be returning!

I just stayed here for the first time last week with my girlfriend and had a great time. The hotel rooms are very clean and if you get one with a kitchenette they supply cutlery, plates, and bowls. I stayed for a week and was able to partake in all of the offered amenities like renting bikes/beach chairs, the pools and hot tub. The service was amazing too, we experienced an issue with our bathroom and the staff immediately sent someone to fix it. The beach is about a 5 minute walk away depending on your room. Will definitely be coming here again!

Overall a good experience. Our room was upgraded and it was nice. The view was amazing. Everything is kept so clean. Although they do not clean the rooms daily. Only downside was the elevators. They are small, hot and slow. Please do something about your elevators.

Strange hotel, check in was in lobby of restaurant, As I understand it they're still renovating the hotel from aftermath of hurricanes in the fall. Very little parking. Only one elevator in our building working. Now let's get to the room- the room was generally clean, but it is TINY. No balcony. Half the electrical outlets weren't working so had to play with the electrical panel on the wall to get the outlets to work. No phone in room to call front desk and the table next to the bed none of the outlets worked. Looked under the nightstand and found a large extension cord and used it to plug in my chargers. Did find some trash under there and under the beds. The beds themselves however are comfy and clean. Shower had rust all over. The safe was not working. I did appreciate the complimentary towels, beach chairs, and umbrella for the beach. Sloppy Joe's was a nice restaurant with excellent music and view of the beach. This hotel as it is now, feels like a cheap motel with some upgrades in the room to try to make it more modern but if all you need is a short getaway with a view of the beach which is what I came for, it served its purpose. I do think the staff is working hard to renovate the main part of the building though as the workers are working diligently.

As many others say, this feels more like a motel charging resort prices and an amenity fee. I would suggest staying at a Hilton or Marriott instead. More detailed review below. My primary issue with this hotel is that it is still very much under construction. As much as they try being casual about it it's very unpleasant to be woken by drilling and sawing every morning or by the fact the AC has been turned off half the day to be swapped out. Should not be paying full price plus amenity for such a compromised stay. Additionally very unimpressed by the service situation. You get two raggedy chairs to use during your stay and you need to lug them down a very wide beach every time you want to go out. And don't worry, umbrella is extra so you can enjoy baking without that. Many hotels in the area offer the chairs already set up and include umbrellas. Another key point to consider is with all their pools outside, you're not gonna be able to swim often due to daily thunderstorms. An indoor and outdoor pool would have prevented this. In many other reviews complaining about construction you'll see excuses about rebuilding. Since you're open mid rebuild, which I likely wouldn't suggest, then the rates should have reflected that. A $5 certificate on check in doesn't cut it.

I was at the hotel July 2025|The beach here is wonderful. |However, the hotel is misleading at best. You have to pay $35/day for amenities including parking, beach chairs and an umbrella, water and option for kayaking or paddleboarding. However, there are no Umbrellas. Kayaking or Paddleboarding is $20/hour and 2 of 4 days they were out of beach chairs. So, what is the $35 for? I asked, and I got a "you have to understand" response. No. If you can't provide the amenities then, adjust the cost. ||Also, it is very noisy at night. there is a bar across the street with really loud live music. They end about 11:30 so it wasn't that bad. But, my room was next to the ice machine. All night people running that machine kept me awake. It seems they could move it across the walkway to reduce noise. ||I will not be back

Just got back from a quick 3 night girls trip and already decided we'll be back in January. the conch suite was great, no issues, all in good working order and very comfortable. What makes Bilmar special is the people-- just lovely. Front desk ladies Heather, Missy and Shawna all just such great women keeping things running. Luis, Steve and Courtney behind the bar--you were all delightful. Excellent quality for the price at Sloppy Joes. In fact great value al the way around at Bilmar. Crews were working like crazy on the renovations and everything looked great, and sounded like the new reception and Waves should be open this weekend. Love to the Bilmar team from the Cincinnati gals !!!
