Bilmar Beach Resort

We stayed here Presidents Week (February 2026) for four days and three nights. If you’re looking for a luxury, state of the art hotel this is not it; however, the Bilmar is low key, beach side and perfect for a couples getaway. There are two pools, a hot tub and a short walk to the beach with towels and chairs provided. The price was reasonable, you could at times hear slight noise from the adjacent room, and the main concern was that the door to the room did not fully close so there were times you’d come back from a day out and find that your door could be easily pushed open and room accessed. This condition was noted on other rooms and was we made the staff aware upon checking out. If it wasn’t for the lack of a secure room this likely would’ve been a five star review.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life! To start the room is in no way compliant to code. The walk way space between the wall and bed is maybe 18 inches or less! The bathroom is so gross with disgusting dirty broken tile. There were issues with the television and WiFi. The water was shut off numerous times without warning. The parking situation was horrible, the “overflow” parking was across the street at the Walgreens on the corner. Housekeeping was rude, they came to clean the room and we asked them if they could come back in 10 minutes after we finished dressing and got a dirty look as she walked away. Also the location is the absolute worst with loud motor cycles constantly going by to the open air bar across the street that has a volume comparable to concert levels! You can hear every single word and scream coming from that place! The only thing that I found that was truthfully advertised about the place was the view of the beach and water, which was nice. But, it certainly didn’t make up for all the other issues with this hotel. We won’t be back.

Wonderful family vacation over Christmas. We were delighted with the double room so we could have a little privacy as a family. The little kitchenette was perfect for quick family snacks. Room is beautifully updated, beds and pillows very comfortable. Access to the beach was awesome and having the “take a toy, leave a toy” was a huge perk with young kids. Staff was incredibly kind, we felt so welcomed and relaxed right from the start.

Attending a wedding at this Hotel and it blew us away with how awesome everything was! From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out it was a very memorable weekend. The staff was 5 stars and so nice. They all seemed to be happy to help, answer questions or just BS some. Special shout out and a cheers to, Luis, Nick, Avi, Denise, Harry, Renee and Tori! They worked the wedding event and/or provided services that were memorable throughout our stay and they all should get an extra bonus in their next checks! The room was great, clean, and picturesque. I made sure that houskeeping knew we appreciated her hard work as well. Thank you Bilmar, I'll see you again soon and even though I am a local resident, I'll make this my go to place anytime I need to stay in Treasure Island or have anyone ask me the best place to be at.

The staff was kind and helpful. The room was clean and had a nice kitchenette. The bar had great vibes. It had a very modern look with a very calming, relaxing atmosphere. The bartender was friendly and helpful. The upstairs hangout area was nice my husband and I enjoyed cornhole and the jenga set up top. The pool was warm great for colder nights. Sloppy joes was amazing food with a great price compared to other restaurants in the area. Only con was the show water pressure and how long it takes for the water to get warm. So just start the shower a little before you plan to get in. Once it is warm though it stays warm a while. All around a great stay!

The staff is very attentive and always happy to help. They have food and bar (Sloppy Joes) on property right on the beach overlooking the Gulf. I can't say enough about the food and staff- just amazing and I highly recommend them. 😎🤙 Shout out to Sloppy Joes and the Bilmar

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at the wonderful; The Bilmar Beach Resort. It was an incredibly busy weekend with the Sanding Ovations Master’s Cup festival, Nov 20–23, 2025. With world-class sand sculptures, live music, food, crafts, and even fireworks right on the beach, the entire area was buzzing…. yet the resort team never missed a beat. Their hospitality shined through every moment of our stay.||A special thank you to Clyde, the General Manager, and Kenny, Director of Food & Beverage, along with the Chef, for ensuring everything ran seamlessly during such a major event. Despite the crowds, we always felt cared for, welcomed, and valued.||We also want to recognize some truly outstanding team members who made our stay exceptional:||Chris at Sloppy Joe’s; warm, attentive, and consistently upbeat even during peak times.||John at the night front desk; helpful, patient, and a calming presence late in the evening.||Patti at the front desk; an absolute star. As we were checking in, two guests pointed to Patti and said, “Patti is why we stay here.” After experiencing her kindness and professionalism firsthand, we completely understand why.||The combination of a beautiful beachfront location, a vibrant festival right outside our door, and a team that truly goes above and beyond made this a memorable experience from start to finish. It's a "Five Star" 3-star hotel! I absolutely love this place. It's EXACTLY what I want when I want a "beach hotel." However, Google Maps is incorrect; it is not a 4-star hotel, it's a 3-star hotel. I don't WANT an upscale luxury 4-star hotel anyway. It's my favourite hotel, well-maintained with great, well-decorated rooms, nice front desk staff and a good restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a care-free beach vacation at a fabulous 3-star hotel.

Friendly staff, newly remodeled after hurricane damage, and decent prices even though they're sneaking in an additional $35 upcharge that's mandatory which disguises the price you pay. I know this is not an uncommon practice in tourist areas but it's dishonest and somewhat predatory to advertise a price then require additional payment that's not a government tax or fee (which hotels also are usually subject to). We had numerous problems with our visit that we were uninformed about until we arrived even though we spoke to the front desk a week before our visit and again the day of our arrival. This again felt a bit underhanded in order to not lose customers and lure them in: the parking lots were on demolished condition in preparation for paving the following week which meant parking off-site. Worse, we could not cart our own luggage due to the conditions, and our initial room which was especially chosen for location within the grounds would require us to use the stairs because of a broken elevator. A building that has only one elevator? Very difficult to believe in our times. We instead had to relocate to a secondary building. Our bellhops were very friendly but also very inexperienced, having difficulty using and navigating the luggage carts let alone negotiating them at the room, the elevator and the chewed up parking lot. Bad timing on our part. Hey, at least no one working here was grousing. That helped. I still have generous tips as they were enthusiastic if somehow lacking in their job. Our in-room telephone didn't work. So calling a bellhop for our departure meant asking a nearby housekeeper to radio the request... which resulted in us waiting 30 minutes before deciding I should just use my cell phone to call the front desk, and then within minutes she arrived with her cart. The pool is nice and furnishings at the pool are in great condition. Amenities there include a towel service that's staffed. Very nice older gentleman John was wonderful. Our bathroom door did not close all the way which was very annoying and somewhat awkward for a shared room. Also the hair dryer wall unit was not anchored so it literally came off the wall when attempting to use the equipment. Another surprise. All in all, we still enjoyed our stay. I think with a few months to get their kinks worked out and train their staff for tourist season, this may be a good choice although there seem to be many other similar places around that area.

We stayed at the Bilmar to attend a friends wedding onsite. It's a tough review as the area is still recovering from the hurricane last year. The Bilmar sign is iconic and looks great at night. It's right on the beach and the walking path is super convenient. Bonus points for Publix being so close and Sloppy Joes as the hotel restaurant. It's also walking to other bars and restaurants. Our stay was spendy for Florida but as there are several hotels and resorts that did not reopen after the hurricane, demand is higher than supply. Bilmar was under continued construction and I have to say they did a great job with safety, signage and barricades. Noise was also minimal during the day. The ac was crazy loud and backed up by an in room unit with a hose to outside via the window. Not ideal. Beds were supposed to be new but if they were the mattress quality was marginal. Check in was in the make shift lobby in Sloppy Joes as the main lobby was being redone. Small and not convenient but temporary. Pools were nice. Clean.

Went for a weekend in March. The hotel, still under remodeling after the hurricane, had us check in at the on site restaurant. Our room was spacious. We faced the ocean and enjoyed sunsets on the balcony. We didn't try any other pools, but the locale right on the beach is great. Everyone was friendly. Would go back.

Starting with the positive...the beach was beautiful and very close. The room was clean to a point... Now the bad... the elevators need to be wiped down. There Steel or chrome entry was nasty. Handprints, smudges, smears over every inch. The toilet and sink in our room would make gurgling sounds every night, and cause this funky crap smell to overtake the room. They have a sign that says rooms will not be cleaned after 3. The first day we left our room right before 11 am. No maid service. The next day we left at 9 am, again no service. My husband went back to the room at 1 pm, to grab sunblock a d the maid saw him and came in to make the beds. Didn't do anything else. The funny part is, management leaves an envelope for you to leave the maid a tip... her loss, as we put it in the envelope for her. Last day I took it out. If ya don't clean it while I'm there, I ain't tipping you to clean it for someone else. They did offer to take off two days of amenity fees... wowza. Amenities? There were Amenities? Half the place was closed due to the hurricanes, which by the way, would have been nice to know prior to booking. Honestly the nicest thing i can say is... the beach was great. The hotel needs to be cleaned up on the exterior, and check the plumbing. Definitely shouldn't be gurgling during the night.

We only stayed one night, but it was a very nice place! The room was small, but just right for the two of us. Beds are comfortable and the shower was good. Nice and clean too. This may not be a big thing, but I noticed the nice set up of everything when we first walked in. For example, the towels weren't just folded and piled, they were kind of decorative. :) We hope to come back again and stay longer!

Good value for the cost, great staff. Pattie was very helpful at check in. Nice pools or hit the beach. Close to everything, or dine in at Sloppy Joes with indoor or beach side tables. Great for the family beach trip!!

From a Former employee- The review is for the Assistant GM who had very little patience the employees. Only provided three half days of training before terminating me. No structured support for different learning styles. I realize hotel desks have steep learning curves and high turnover, but I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Plenty of employers do build in real training time and welcome people who learn differently. Sadly, this isn't the case at the Bilmar.

Location is great, but that's about it! We had a beach view room with a balcony booked, but they stuck us in the back corner above the extremely loud restaurant with live music. It was SO loud that after a long day of traveling we couldn't even watch TV or get some sleep. Also, you see that restaurant roof directly outside our window? There has been a man walking on it cleaning or something twice so far, so we have been keeping the curtains closed. Upon arrival the front desk person (who was very sweet) told my girls that they could go get free Henna tattoos or hair wraps by the pool. She said they were included in the $80 resort fee we just paid. Well, they weren't. The henna was $40 each (and turned out looking terrible). I asked to switch rooms but was told the other side of the resort would be even louder the next night because side of a wedding, and then we would have NO view of the beach. Overall, I'm pretty bummed about the resort. I should have been pushier upon check in and requested a different room just because of the crappy view, but I had no idea that the music would be so loud and for so late. Perhaps the resort should consider this when placing people with kids directly above the restaurant.

Stayed at this resort for wwe royal rumble.. resort was clean and room was the premium double queen facing the beach Stayed with my wife and both my two kids. I think it's very family friendly and decent for a stay if you're in town and want to be close to the beach . Check in was fast and pretty attentive staff

We are at the Bilmar as I write this, on 8/22/25, day 6 of our week long Anniversary trip, and we have to go home to Massachusetts tomorrow morning. My husband & I are first-timers to this resort. We searched all over to find a place to vacation to this year, and we came across the Bilmar site. As I write this, while sitting on our 6th floor balcony at almost 10pm, I want to let you know that neither myself or my husband want to leave! This has been one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had, and I mean that. The Bilmar is close to everything, whether it's shopping you want to do, or have dinner out close by, or grab a beer at Sloppy Joe's, you can do it all while never leaving the resort. We decided to spend almost every single day on the beach. That's another thing, the Bilmar is on the cleanest and most gorgeous beach! The water is so warm, the beach is so spotless, and the scent of the ocean is amazing! We found ourselves more relaxed and well rested on this trip more than any others we've been on. We slept in incredibly comfortable beds, and we both cannot remember a time when we slept until 9am, but we did every day! As I said, I am sitting out on the balcony and I just finished packing. My husband just finished, too, and we keep saying we don't want to leave this beautiful hotel. The staff were kind & gracious, from the check-in, to the Sloppy Joe staff, and to Aaron & Kevin at the pool. Oh, that's another thing! Not many resorts have beach chairs, but the Bilmar does. And they also have a few umbrellas that guests can use that were left behind by other guests. Both Aaron and Kevin were personable and kind, handing out free water bottles to us each morning and offering sunscreen, too. There was also a very nice older gentlemen at the pool, too, and I apologize for not getting his name! But everyone there each morning were great, and we appreciate you guys!!!!! We also were able to meet "Turbo", who is everyones' best beach friend. If you want a lounger or a large umbrella, please see Turbo. He's a great person who spoke with us everyday, we are now FB buds with him! But all good things have to end, but we want to thank everyone at the Bilmar Beach Resort for a great time! We plan on returning in the spring and we will be bringing the family with us. Thank you all again, we'll miss you and can't wait to return!

I love it!!! Customer service is very good! But the band at night was amazing all night playing. I like this place is near to the beach and very nice ocean view.

So the Bilmar Hotel is pretty nice and for me I will say it's one of the best on the strip, it started off a little bad for us due to only having one room reserved when we had 3 booked but they definitely made it right for us and that's great customer customer. I will also say that everyone at this Hotel is very friendly except for this one security guard that sits outside and has no sense of humor and isn't friendly at all, kinda sucks when you on vacation and you just ask a simple question like where should we park and check in. He came off with a big attitude, so they should look into someone else that had a better attitude. Now the rooms are very nice and clean as well as the bathrooms. Cleaning service is very nice as well and they take care of you. The Bilmar hotel has two restaurants attached to the Hotel and are very good, I spent a lot of time in Sloppy Joes. I also love the fact that you can just walk out to the beach from the Hotel, if you need chairs for the beach you just tell them your room number and they give you chairs. Great deal. I would definitely stay again.

What a great place to stay. Perks: The rooms are spacious. My king room had a bathroom which was essentially the size of my bathroom at home. A full kitchen, bar to sit at and plenty of other seating room. Oh, and the kicker, the view of the Gulf was out of this world. Lets back up a little bit. Bilmar Beach Resort is located in the heart of the Treasure Coast. What I loved the most is that while it has the charm of a hotel from the 70's, it doesn't have the dated decor. It's clean, somewhat elegant while still keeping in theme with the beach. It's just a really nice, friendly vibe. In the morning there is free coffee and in the afternoon free candy. You get free wifi and parking while staying there and you'll get a coupon for the bar located near the pool. There are private member's only areas that are only accessed by hotel patrons on the beach which are nice. The beach itself its worth five stars alone and it's literally in the back yard of the hotel. Due to the location of the hotel I didn't need my car one bit. I actually didn't want to leave the hotel at all either, but I made myself to venture out. I thought the room was exceptionally clean. The staff from the maids to the the woman who checked me in were all really friendly. I really enjoyed it and here and will surely be back.

This is not a resort..... not one activity..... maybe the overcrowded pool area.... nothing was free but water , coffee and a cookie. All bar/food was open up the public at all times,and they closed down the bar and grill to their guest when hosting event without tell the guest booking before hand. Which is annoying and had loud music people outside at any hour...... and also too many miscommunications with the guest and front desk.. . The best thing was that the rooms were clean. But I could go on about how it sucked.

Pretty lobby with nice workers. Rooms do not look like the pictures, they are run down and old. Woke up to drilling and maintenance at 7am. The cherry on top was the mold in their free coffee, looks like the machines haven't been cleaned in years. Beach was beautiful and we were excited to use the free kayaks and paddle-boards. However when we went to rent them, the worker said he didn't wanna put them out because he was working alone today. And he didn't feel like moving them closer to the water. Made us seem like it was our fault. Would not recommend staying here.

My wife and I differ on vacation destinations. While the given common denominators are we both want to be with each other and we both want the destination to have beautiful views & water... that looks different in my mind's eye versus hers. In my mind, I want to be in the mountains hiking waterfalls, scenic overlooks and peaks. But my wife prefers the sound of ocean water lapping against the shore, deep sunsets and miles of beaches. Well if you follow my reviews you undoubtedly have noticed I've done a lot of hiking to a lot of waterfalls during the first half of this year. Primarily because they are easy and inexpensive day trips or short weekend getaways, but also because hiking is better in cooler weather. However, now that the heat has arrived and summer is in full swing, I dare not lose my life telling my wife we are going to the mountains again. Besides, SHE booked this trip so I had little say on where we were going! LOL Our credit card often invites us on time share presentations that basically pay for the accommodations as long as we attend a 90-minute presentation. Many people pass on these offers, but they are GREAT ways to travel and save! Bilmar Beach Resort happened to be the accommodations that were offered and what great accommodations they were. Located on Treasure Island between St. Pete Beach & Madeira Beach, it was the perfect place to hunker down with the love of my life. FIRST, let me say the BEACH here is extremely wide! Treasure Island has a boardwalk that makes walking along the beach super easy, but it also has about 900 feet of dry sand between the boardwalk and the Gulf waters. It's a HUGE beach, unlike the surrounding beaches that are narrower. My wife was in heaven each morning for quiet walks and each evening for sunset views (since it's west facing). SECOND, there are lots of walkable options for food and fun! The South building houses Sloppy Joe's with its killer blackened grouper sandwich, respectable shrimp n' grits and yummy pancakes in the morning. They have great Gulf views and a full bar. But directly across the street is Ricky T's Bar and I tell you what, it was hoppin'! Truly sounded like everyone was having a fantastic time with the live music and excited crowd. Around the corner is Captain Bill's s Oyster Bar and the oysters are fantastic. How could they not be when they have a guy who call himself the Mother Shucker shucking all the fresh oysters. THIRD, there are TWO pools and a second restaurant in the north building. I believe beach loungers also come with your stay and I also noticed free bikes available. Kayaks, surf/boogie boards and volleyball also offered. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, our tower room was cozy and comfortable. Outfitted with a huge flat screen tv, two queen bed, super comfortable mattresses & pillows, a small kitchen and barn door bathroom with backlit mirror and walk-in shower. The décor was bright and beachy, with splashes of color and conveniences such as fragrant hand/body washes + shampoo & conditioner dispensers. My wife wanted to take the body wash home because she loved the smell so much! Please know this is not a prestigious sort of resort, but in my opinion, I think they are doing a great job with what they have despite the obvious age of the buildings. FINAL THOUGHTS My only complaint is the lack of parking when you spend the day out and come back late. While there are enough spaces for all guests, the proximity to the beach and restaurants cause some spaces to be filled illegally. But to their credit they do try to keep unwanted cars out with a Lot Monitor and also have overflow parking across from the south tower next to Walgreens. So for all the reasons I have listed above, I'm gonna go all out and give them 5 stars! I would definitely stay here again and really appreciated the front desk staffs friendly recommendations! 2021 / 96

We have stayed here a few times now and love it! They have the best view in Treasure Island and they make the beach life easy and fun! The hotel is right on the beach they give you chairs, umbrellas, towels and bring the drinks right to you! The hotel is older but updated beautifully! The beach view rooms are worth it! The beds are comfortable and well designed! They have hooks, mini fridges and really nice bathrooms! They are clean modern and simply! The bars and restaurant was really good for a beach bar vibe! Wait staff was really helpful and nice! The hotel staff is great and always super accommodating! The pools are great if you have kids or you are on a weekend gateway with your spouse! I highly recommend staying here it is worth every penny!

First time stay at the Bilmar. Rooms are a little small but they are clean and the housekeeping staff were very helpful. We loved that there were multiple pools we could choose the crowd level and tended to gravitate to the one closest to Sloppy Joe's. We had a beachfront walk out room which we requested, think we'll choose to do adjoining rooms for more space next time however we will definitely be back. The location was great. We were able to go to a Rays game, have an evening at John's Pass which were both easy commutes. They had lots of game options on the sand, chairs and fire pits. Loved the laid back atmosphere here on Treasure Island after many years of the hustle of the "big" beach up the way. Already looking forward to the next stay.

DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY!!! THE WATER IS TOXIC AND MADE MY 14 MONTH OLD PUKE AND THE REST OF MY FAMILY SICK. THE DOOR TO THE ROOM TRAPPED MY BABY INSIDE AND THE ROOM WAS FREEZING WITH NO HEAT!!!! MANAGEMENT SENT ME A DISGUSTING REPLY ON GOOGLE WHICH I HAVE SCREEN SHOT AND INCLUDED IN MY REPLY THERE. PLEASE SEE GOOGLE REVIEWS AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU HAVE YOUNG FAMILY!!! CLYDE SHOULD BE ABSOLUTLEY ASHAMED OF HIMSELF!!! Clyde and/or 'management', Are you seriously being condescending to me for placing my child in her pack and play while I grab the rest of my bags RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR? Gross. Claiming something as 'state of the art' doesn't in fact make it such (In fact its quite laughable when you visit the property.) I also find it 'amusing' that when my husband ran down to the front desk they told him that the doors on the property are known to have issues-yet you seem clueless Your lack of ownership is appalling. Your lack of knowledge about your water supply is even more disturbing. However, I don't buy your ignorance. I did my research on your water supply after we left, now I know why you supply a few water bottles for customers....certainly not because you know your water is garbage, right??? This place is a joke and management is even worse. I will be sure to share your reply on every travel site possible. FAMILIES BEWARE!!!

Very close and convenient to everything. Older room. Housekeeping service left something to be desired. Both pools were great, and the front desk service was great. No fan in bathroom so very humid and steamy. I feel a bit overpriced.

Enjoyed stay in the 8 story tower! I know this place is old, but they've done a great job at updating the rooms in this place. Amenities and close to everything in Treasure Island and John's pass. Great for family! Wendell from Olathe KS

Went for a meeting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach was beautiful. Food was good. Bed comfortable, pool cool. But really wish they had a water dispenser to refill a reusable water bottle in the lobby and in meeting rooms. So sad to see so much plastic waste with all the water bottles. Seems like it would be more cost effective and easier labor than lugging those cases. Small paper cups with nice dispensers is what 21st century hospitality requires.

What a tropical gem on Treasure Island. It was my first time there and i felt right at home. Great location, awesome staff. I came to the bar at sloppy joes all three nights because it was so much fun. Gio is hilarious and all the bar staff was great. I'll be back for sure.

My 5 star rating is for WES, the bartender at waves; Bilmar Cafe. The resort it's self is ok. Not great but worked for our little three day weekend getaway from Atlanta. The rooms were ok to say the most. Definitely overpriced for what they are. We hung out towel on the hook in our room and it fell of the wall. There were ants all over the dresser. I say it's "ok" for the staff and location only. Hotel itself is not great at all. Location is awesome and staff is super friendly. Bit what made my whole weekend was Wes. He was great with my kids and myself. Making us feel like family. He told us all about the area, places to eat and see, and made the whole experience a delight! Will stay somewhere else next time, but will come by the cafe to visit Wes when we are in the area!! A must to stop by and see Wes!!!

Overall, had a good experience here. It's in a great location but parking lot fills up quickly. They have additional parking but it's across the street next to CVS. Rooms were clean the the ocean view ain't bad. Glad I stayed here and not at Clearwater like I had planned originally.

Definitely shows its age. Front staff was always polite and helpful. The carpeting in the room had a greasy feel to it so e always had some type of shoe on. Grocery store and pharmacy are in easy walking distance. Room was always kept clean. Unfortunately my husband got covid our 2nd day in and we had to leave early. We asked if we could get a voucher for the 3 days that we wouldn't be there and they denied any kind of credit or refund. My husband is 75 and with the covid diagnosis his doctor preferred us to come home. We would have stayed there again and brought more family members but we probably won't go there again with a company that can't or won't work with you. When I called and wanted to speak to a manager when I got home they never answered the phone and never called back after leaving 3 messages.

first visit here in a while. The location is great, the beach is fabulous. Its an old hotel, but adequate. Not great, but it is at a matching price rate. BUT, 1. They charge a resort fee and it is NOT included in their published rates - double check. We prepaid the room and then got a big $80 surprise upon check-in. The manager, Clyde, was set on that it is the customers job to haggle with the reservation site over the issue and he was not nice about it. So if you like having to argue with the front desk, call the 800 number and going thru their voicemail, to complain about the dispute sure, stay here. Other hotels have just taken care of these kinds of issues, not made the vacationer manage it. Our reservation company gave us a credit but it was not our job to do that. So, meh. 2. Lets talk about "resort fees". Here it's $40 a night for 2 tiny kind of dirty pools with no life guards. And there are some bikes. So, meh. 3. Another tacky move is the envelope for cleaning tips. We are happy to tip, but the envelope is pretty opportunistic. Just pay your people. Not impressed. 4. The place is not sprinklered - but they do provide fireblankets under the kitchenette sink. So in case of fire, grab the blanket and hope it protects one of you. 5. Also Clyde, you did NOT give the best rate. (unlesss you mean best rate you can extract) - as your position was the resort fee was not included we didnt get that. Your answer was - "you paid it, you're not getting it back". And your idea of customer service is threat of bad reviews are "extortion" - so not sure customer service is your calling. 6. Oh, and there were 3 baby lizards in the room. One in the bathroom, one in the kitchen and one in the sleeping area. So. 5 stars for the location and minus 1 star for the age of the property minus 2 stars for management, minus 1 star for Clyde, plus 1 star for the lizards.

Very nice staff. Crazy expensive. The beach is very far from the resort, I believe I counted over 500 steps. Not worth having to spend the extra money to have beach front unless you used binoculars. The pool was nothing special but they did have some old rafts floating around. Booked as a hot rate with Hotwire will never make that mistake again. The rooms were cleaned but not attended to. It was just okay. Not the raving great place that some of the reviewers wrote. Too much money for a sub par resort.

Visitors from out of town needed a place to stay on the super busy weekend leading up to new year's eve. They managed to snag a studio with small balcony overlooking the gulf at the Bilmar. The Bilmar is an older property that was renovated several years ago. It's also one of the larger hotels in Treasure Island. The room was nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen has the usual fridge, microwave and stove top. View from the 6th floor in the tower was fabulous. Great place to watch sunsets! Amenities were nice....pool, spa and one hour paddle board or kayak courtesy of a guy named Turbo. Chairs on the beach along with towels. Not bad for $230 a night. Staff was super nice. Negatives were the age of the place and odd elevator. You need a room key to go up. Kid protection they said. Parking was kind of a pain. Recommend.

The remodel is perfect fit, and clean update. Great banquet staff. And location, beach and sun is uncompromising.....great for multi room reservations, groups extended family. With lots to do for all.

My husband and I are so glad we selected this resort. It has a neat, vintage vibe with some nice updates. Love the boardwalk by the beach! It's a great place to walk or bike...and of course the beach is just yards away. The small resort fee when you check-in is worth it for the complimentary beach chairs, bikes, kayaks, etc. The food in both of the restaurants is good. We had to be patient to get a table one night at Sloppy Joe's. Because I always appreciate this in other reviews, here are my pros and cons: Pros: 1. We got a room with a kitchenette and a grocery store is very close by...3 minute walk. 2. Lots of amenities including fun beach games on the sand. 3. The restaurants are good. 4. Beds and linens are comfy. 5. The staff is friendly. 6. The boardwalk! Most hotels here don't have one. Makes it an easy walk to bars/restaurants. Cons: 1. Not enough water pressure in the shower. 2. Parking can look skimpy but it's not. The staff will tell you to move an orange cone. They protect spots for their guests from the restaurant crowds. 3. The neighborhood can be loud with live music and activities. We found that the "white noise" from the air conditioner covers it up nicely. We slept great. 4. Service in the cafe is slow but our waitress kept the coffee flowing. She was a peach! My husband and I will come back here. We loved it!

We stayed at this resort during a quick getaway trip. For an older, somewhat updated resort it is pretty nice. We stayed in the Palms Building in room 742. The room was since overall, had an amazing view. The only complaints with the room is the carpet is terrible! I mean I know some carpets on the beach have a smell sometimes to them from the sea but this was just down right dirty, you could feel the "sticky" of it If you took off your shoes. The noise from the street and businesses is pretty loud;especially at night while trying to sleep. Another issue was on Saturday we went to the beach to get some chairs and an umbrella and possibly use the paddle boards and there was no one to be found. We called front desk and they said we are looking for someone now. Never heard anything else. What sucks about that is we still had to pay our "amenities fee" with no amenities. Other than those things it's a pretty nice place. The convenience of Sloppy Joes on site is nice too. They have an amazing breakfast for a really decent price. It's located near Walgreens and some really nice restaurants as well.

Spent five days vacation there. 05/22-05/27. My friend made the lodging arrangements. The hotel was nice, but in my opinion, over-priced. The room was comfortable, but carpet was not very clean. Kitchenette was well stocked. 7th floor view was very nice. The elevator was s-l-o-w. The beach is a VERY far walk from the rooms. Being disabled, I wasn't able to walk all of the way to the water and back. Not pleased with having to go down to Sloppy Joe's outer waiting area or out to the beach wall to smoke. I can understand no smoking in the rooms, but to ban smoking on the balconies is ridiculous. Would I stay there again? No.

The hotel is super inconvenient! We stayed there this past weekend. When checking in, the receptionist had her nose in the air and was super unfriendly. But the most irritating thing is there was absolutely no place to park but a block across the street. There was no handicap parking available and valet service was only open for the wedding party. We had to drop our stuff off and I had to stay with it while my husband parked across the street. There were no carts available to put the luggage on and no one to help! When we told them about this, they apologized and said it does not fall on deaf ears, but apparently it did, because nothing was done. Also, our room had a coffee maker and no coffee and we had to take the elevator down to outside, walk across the parking lot into the lobby to get coffee only to find they had no cream and had to wait five minutes on cream. Also we got in the hot tub, there were no towels available and we had to go into the lobby to get towels. The hot tub was not all that great either with the water bubbling so hard and spitting up over the sides. I do not recommend here

My wife and teenage daughter stayed 5 nights at the Bilmar Beach Resort during the last week of July 2019. The hotel is older, but has been recently remodelled, and it showed. The entire staff, from the front desk to the maintenance workers were all very friendly and outgoing. The room was updated, clean and fresh. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen adequately supplied, and the view of the beach, was awesome. We were in room 310, on the North end of the property we could sit on our balcony most evenings, and listen to the live music next door. The walk to the beach looks like a long way, but the sand between the hotel and the water is hard packed, and getting out there was no problem. While I despise additional daily "resort fees" which usually only includes wifi and who knows whatelse... at the Bilmar we actually felt like we got our monies worth. The available beach chairs were convienent, even though I packed my own. My daughter enjoyed being able to use a SUP or a kayak each day. The beach was clean, the water was calm and beautiful. The swimming area is marked and the passing boats and PWC stayed outside of the bouys. We saw dolphins swimming by numerous times on 4 of the 5 days. It was awesome. The sunsets were amazing. We didn't eat at the onsite resturant, Sloppy Joes, mainly because we like to eat at local places instead of chains. There's an abundant number of resturants within a five minute drive. If we ever find ourselves vacationing the Treasure Island area again, we will most certainly stay at the Bilmar again. Thanks for a great, affordable week stay!

Nice place ! Whole outfit smells like weed. Overpriced for what it is. Bar hours are awful. Who closes at bar at 7 or 8 pm. Rooms are basic and room service was ok.

Checked in here... and left within an hour! Came in with bugs. Pictures are misleading. Rooms are rundown and need fixing up.

I rarely give 5 stars but so far we've had the best experience ever! Everything is new and amazing! I've stayed here prior and it was okay but it's now INCREDIBLE! The remodeling is super! We had THE best time! So beautiful!

Loved it! Reasonable rates, nice rooms, beautiful grounds, friendly, helpful, and knowledgable staff. We will return! The front desk staff moved mountains to keep us from having to move rooms mid trip due to a third-party booking glitch. The biggest strength that this and its neighboring resorts have is the area in which they are located. In walking distance there is everything you would need for a vacation. So convenient!

Stop, read this first. Called Bilmar Beach resort number from their official website and they told me grand total amount with all fees and taxes. At the resort registration desk got hit with additional over $100 amenities fees. Don't call the toll free number thinking you are calling the hotel desk. Resort and online websites are in cahoots to scam for hidden fees.

Ive beem here a few times but today was ridiculous i checked in at 400 pm and had to wait a little over an hour for the room in my car in the rain this was because as i was told room service had as of then finished the rooms , at 500pm? Bullshit way to run a business then we finally get in the room and i almost kill myself didnt realize the bathroom floor was wet , Never again for what o paid ill just go to st pete beach

The room we got was updated and had a nice view. However, they don't offer many activities for kids. They had a wedding going on and closed the bar by the beach. There was construction outside of our room and it smelled like wet towels outside. The pool chairs had bird poop on them in the morning and the waitress we got at sloppy Joes was grumpy and very slow to bring our orders. On check out day, we were 15 minutes late to leave the room but house keeping started knocking on the door right at 11 even though we had a privacy please sign up( that has never happened at any hotel). At 11:15 am, the supervisor knocked on the door again to ask as if we were leaving. We left the room at 11:18 am but they were pressuring us to leave at 11:00 am. It was not worth the price we paid. There are better hotels in St. Pete beach.

To start off this hotel is so overly priced for what you get. The rooms are small and dirty. The service is horrible and the front desk is no help. We had someone check into our hotel room and get a key for it. They proceeded to get into our room and walk in on us changing from the beach. If you are staying on the first floor be warned you can hear EVERYTHING!!! The people walking down the halls, people outside, people in the rooms next to you and people above you. The walk to the beach is quite a haul and the only nice thing is 2 beach chairs you pick up on the hotel sight before you leave. Umbrellas and lounge chairs on the beach are not included in your $200+ room. We waited 7 hours to be checked into our room at 630 at night. Please do yourself a favor and DONT STAY HERE!!

My daughter had her wedding at the Bilmar hotel. And it was the best wedding I've ever been to. The service was impeccable. The hotel staff friendly And accommodated all our needs. And 5 stars to Heather at the front desk. We will be back thank you for everything

My wife was freaking out about the snow and freezing weather here in DE in February and told me she needed to be on a beach someplace ASAP. So I searched and searched and finally found a good package through Priceline to the Bilmar Resort in Treasure Island FL. We had been to TI in the past and we had seen Bilmar from the beach and it looked retro-cool. As soon as we got to the front desk we were greeted by Shauna (sp?). She was cheerful and helpful and we loved her. She got us a room with a great view and invited us to use the resort facilities, pool, etc even though we were 4 hours before check-in. The entire facility was very well maintained and very clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. One morning I was in a public area by the pool reading my free newspaper and drinking my free coffee and I notice something interesting. I was between the kitchen and the bar/breakfast area and staff was coming and going past me. I noticed that the various staff members greeted each other cheerfully, so they aren't just putting on an act for guests; they are nice to each other too. We enjoyed the enormous white sand beach and went to Ricky T's across the street for drinks and bar food. We were also walking distance to a nice Publix supermarket, liquor stores, pharmacy, and pizza places. Driving wasn't necessary though we did go to St. Petes Beach one night for a more upscale dinner.

This is our first time at this resort and over all everything was to our expectations. Any staff we came encounter with was friendly and helpful. We had a GREAT housekeeper!... She came in daily to tidy up our space and replaced things as they were needed. There was only "1" day that she wasn't our house keeper and believe me I could tell. If you stay here and she ends up being your cleaner than feel fortunate because she made my day after going out shopping or whatever we did ...: coming back to our room as if the same way it looked the day we checked in. So kudos to "Carmen"!!!!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the distance between the hotel and the actual beach. It was quite a walk all the way down there. Over all this most def a great place to stay! We will be back in the summer:)

I'm incredibly disappointed in the lack of humanity I've been shown by the customer service from the Bilmar Beach Resort. While the COVID-19 outbreak is an unprecedented situation and I have extreme empathy for businesses and workers trying to navigate this difficult time, I would love that same empathy to be returned. I am pregnant and my doctor mandated that I cancel my upcoming trip to FL. No refund on my advance purchase. I was offered to reschedule the trip in the next few months, but will be unable to travel due to flight restrictions on pregnancy and caring for a newborn in that time. Again, nothing they would do for me. This cancellation was not my choice, and now I am out over a thousand dollars during a national emergency with a baby on the way. The email responses to my inquiries were short and cold. No apology, no sympathy. I would have loved to make this trip happen next year, when my baby is big enough to either come with or stay with family. Now I won't be able to afford to and certainly would never bring my business to a hotel that handles extenuating circumstances so poorly. UPDATE: Very happy to report that I just received an incredibly kind and generous call from the manager at the Bilmar. His words and actions have me feeling like this is absolutely a business I can return to. Thank you for your good business practices- I sincerely hope others can learn from you!
