"Burritos at Bimbo's A popular spot for late-night carb-loading (it’s open until 2 a.m. every night), Bimbo’s serves up cheap and enormous burritos in its eye-catching restaurant, decorated wall-to-wall in a Mexican-wrestler-and-black-velvet theme. When you see the giant blinking red arrow, you’ve found the place. They offer burritos, tacos, nachos, tortas, and taco salads, and nothing is over $10. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Downstairs is the Cha Cha Lounge, a large basement space with plenty of seating for groups; there’s an upstairs and downstairs bar for convenience. Happy hour is 4-8 every day, and all day Sunday and Monday. Wells are $3.50, sangria is $4, margaritas and Bloody Marys are $4.50, and there’s a small happy hour food menu. But really, with prices this cheap, how much of a discount do you need?"

I remember this place tasting different when it was on Belmont/Pine but overall everything was fine. Food was ok. Service was ok. We asked for a pitcher of rainier and the waitress was like we don’t have that on draft. She came back we said we’d get a PBR, she then said we don’t have canned beers. Wouldn’t you tell us after we asked for a pitcher you don’t have these certain canned or pitchered beers?

Abigail

Google
Used to be my absolute fave in the city...but you got rid of the sangria and the hot sauce...now, it's just a average bar. I'll still stan for the stoner nachos tho.....

Google
The whole experience was mediocre. We may try again because the place is cute and the food sounds good on paper, but the moment we walked in the bartender/server was standoffish, even though it was basically empty on a weekend. Food was not great. I got my burrito wet with green sauce which I usually love, but it was full of nutmeg with an odd flavor. Not sure what goes on downstairs, maybe that’s fun, but as far as a restaurant they were missing the mark with food and service this particular day.

Google
I went back, they seemed to have ditched the crappy doorman; JP works there he is exceedingly cool. The bartender was very friendly. It's a cool joint.

Google
Cool "dive bar" type atmosphere. Good service and food. Try the Inferno burrito!

Honest Reviewer

Google
Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Unfortunately the vegan chicken was not cooked too well and ruined the taste of the vegan supreme burrito. Inferno was alright and would not recommend the nachos - they are just alright. Would recommend going to Barrio down the street for better nachos and more flavorful tacos.

Stopped by with a group of friends for a quick bite before we hit the town. The place is really small and its tight walking to a table but the staff/bartenders are pretty great. Even when busy they are pretty quick with orders and drinks. They also have interesting decor on their walls, I found myself looking up and everything quite a bit. So much so the staff thought I needed something haha. I would definitely try this place out again for a real meal, but maybe on a less busy day.

Yelp
If I'd been writing this review at the time or immediately following my late-night meal at Bimbos, it might have been a 4-star. But after a terribly uncomfortable night of severe indigestion from a vegetarian Inferno Burrito (maybe the world famous hot sauce did me in?) I can't bring myself to give more than 2 stars. Burrito size was substantial, and it was tasty (though I was drunk), but never again. Worth noting I was not the only one of our party who ended up in this state, and we all ordered different things. Oof.

Yelp
Frozen margarita was good so prob fine to go for the drinks but mexican food (specifically the tacos) were mid, no seasoning at all

Yelp
Love their burritos! Plenty of vegetarian options, which is nice. Margaritas are quite yummy, as well.

Yelp
Stopped by for a dinner in a pinch at Bimbos Cantina after walking around pike/pine. If you're not familiar with the area, street parking is pretty hard to come by and lots/garages get pretty pricy. The restaurant has a cool vibe to it with lots of themed decor and a huge bar setup. I got the burrito ($12) with beef - pretty average tasting, and surprisingly kind of small. Definitely wasn't satisfied or full from that. The nachos ($11) were also pretty average tasting and average to small portion size. Probably wouldn't come back here given the plethora of restaurant options in the area. Definitely below average for Mexican food in Seattle.

Yelp
Pretty decent! We went on a Friday night around 8pm and were easily able to get a table. We ordered a vegan burrito, vegan quesadilla, and two house margaritas. The margs were BOOZY which was just what we wanted! The food, however, was below average. The burrito was pretty bland and the quesadilla was definitely lacking in filling. There was plenty of cheese, but the only filling was in the middle half of the tortilla. The selection of hot sauces made up for what the food was lacking though and we ended up leaving relatively satisfied. The vibrant nightlife energy of a Friday night certainly helped! One bonus point to the food is that, according to our waiter, "pretty much everything can be made vegan". That's a win in my book since Seattle is already lacking in Mexican options and I can count the number of those places with actual vegan options on one hand. I'll likely return here if I find myself peckish, tipsy, and around the neighborhood.

Yelp
Came here for some Mexican food. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. They are accepting of everyone and even have vegan options here. A good choice for everyone. There isn't parking here that I saw (I took an Uber here). But the place is a decent size for Seattle. I liked all the decor. Their Mai Tai's were fantastic. So was the chicken quesadilla. Everyone from my group loved their food. They also have fantastic guacamole. I would definitely come back. They seemed to be able to accomidate larger groups (there were 6 of us).

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to Bimbos Cantina for a while now. Over the course of time walking up and down Pike the decor for the place caught my eye and I really wanted to make a point to come here. Well it finally happened! Lol! The atmosphere inside is as fun and as quirky as it appeared out on the sidewalk! Lol! Steve and I ducked in here for a small snack. We got a small version of the Bimbos Nachos which were solid. I also got their house Margarita which was enjoyable as well. Service is okay. Kind of so so. Quite a few of the tables were not clean yet new customers seated themselves there anyway and the placing our order and getting our order were a bit slow but it looked like there was only one waitress here. Perhaps there was only one because the restaurant wasn't all that big? I'm not too sure. Anyway the experience here was enjoyable enough and worth considering a return to.

Cindy L.

Yelp
The drinks were great but the food was not great at all the tacos were bland and I should've stopped eating that burrito when I bit into it because I got food poisoning from it.
google avatar

Lucy S.

Yelp
If you're dying of hunger, this is not the place to eat at. Over priced for the world's tiniest tacos. The rice and beans were they worst I've ever tasted. The chips were stale. Service was friendly but very disappointed in the food.

Yelp
The cool Lucha decor reeled us in. Abby was very friendly, and made great drinks, good vibes all around. Come grab a drink

Yelp
Bartender and waitress were extremely rude yelling at a customer who was live-streaming. The camera wasn't recording anyone else, just the streamer. They then proceeded to try and kick her off the public sidewalk. Rude af.

Yelp
I believe I've had the best burrito in cap hill here so far. Margarita was pretty good too.

Yelp
What's good y'all it's Project Pat from north Memphis Tenn. Checked out Bimbos and y'all gotta know - THEY DONT HAVE LATE NIGHT FOOD. Go next door for some pizza. Margs were good but prices are a little high. Good music. Good time all around. 5 stars.

Makenzie T.

Yelp
I love Bimbo's! The environment is very relaxed, a little grungy but clean. They check ID's at the door. Everything we ordered was authentic and fresh. Very reasonably priced for portion sizes. The pomegranate jalapeño margarita was amazing and I will be going back and ordering it again!
google avatar

Mack M.

Yelp
Disregard the haters! This place is great on so many levels . . . one of which: they serve Human-Sized Portions. You can actually eat a burrito that isn't the size of a large baby here! Also . . . reasonable portions = value. The $8 burrito is totally satisfying!!

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Pretty bummed to leave this review but this is the 3rd time that we have ordered a vegan quesadilla with vegan chicken and have either gotten real chicken, real cheese or both. The staff has handled the situation poorly each time- and I don't see how they can offer vegan options and then treat a mess up so casually. The first 2 times we were dining in-and there was little to no remorse. Luckily my boyfriend and I don't have any allergies but this still blew our minds that we just had chicken/dairy after 2ish years of constantly making the choice not to. The 3rd time we ordered off of postmates (screenshot attached) and asked for some vegan chicken tacos and a vegan chicken quesadilla. We got home and after having a few bites we realized the cheese was not vegan. We called to doubled check and the staff was not only rude but they placed the blame on us for not specifying that we wanted vegan cheese. Very seriously-look at what we ordered.. It says "vegan chicken quesadilla" with no click down option or any indication that only the chicken would be vegan. The mistake-obviously annoying. But the way it's handled by staff just puts the situation over the top.

Yelp
Send in the health inspectors ASAP. Terrible customer service When you walk in at 6 pm they have a bouncer in a chair as if someone is forcing him to sit there for free. The waiters / waitresses bring you your food with a towel on their shoulder like they just cleaned the grease off the skillet and wanted to spread the love. I've also sat at the bar where the two bartenders just talk to each other and avoid eye contact with patrons unless you're a regular. The food I'm not sure if they serve food just because they have to in order to operate the bar downstairs? Which, by the way, is over capacity on the weekends. Nudge, nudge fire marshal. The salsa is just diced up tomatoes with a few herbs to check the box. The chips might be from down the road at QFC as well. That's all.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
They now have a vegan menu! I really liked the stoner nachos! Who doesn't like Doritos as nachos? Also the spicy jalapeño pomegranate margarita was amazing!!!

Mike L.

Yelp
I stop in every year or two to see if it's gotten better, but no. Amazed at how apathetic (and pathetic) the bartenders are at their jobs. Stopped in tonight (Sunday) around 11 with no bartender in sight, just a couple at the bar lost in each other's eyes. I figured the bartender must be in the bathroom or doing something else. A few minutes pass and the female half of the couple gets up, gets behind the bar and halfheartedly offered to serve me. I could tell she wasn't into it and just wanted to get back to her guy, then she immediately pulled out her phone and started texting. Totally pathetic. I walked out.
google avatar

Yelp
We got a delivery order, and it was a disaster. Literally 3/4 of our food was messed up. The beef nachos didn't have beef on them. The taco salad was ordered no onions/olives, but came with both. The veggie nachos were ordered no sour cream, but came covered in it. The only thing that was right was a taco, which wasn't even good. We notified grubhub that our order was incorrect, but when they called Bimbos to tell them, the manager claimed that there was no way his cook made a mistake, and refused a remake or refund. Cool move. Would give negative stars if I could.

Yelp
Okay food for the price. You can't beat a massive burrito for $9 and a hefty portion of happy hour chips and salsa for $1

Sophie M.

Yelp
This is a Capital hill staple when friends and I go out. You'll never go wrong coming here

Josh R.

Yelp
A lady came in with a selfie stick and the bartender threw a fit even though she wasn't filming anyone but herself. He was very rude to her, and made her leave. Then when she was outside, some other staff member came out and was also very rude to her and tried to kick her off the public sidewalk. It's such a shame, this place seemed really cool, but after the way they treated this person I wouldn't want to go back there and risk being treated that way. BEWARE

I C.

Yelp
Bouncer was an asshole, told us to dispose of our almost-empty water bottle and then rudely asked (as if we were offending him) that we not finish the last drops in front of them. What gives? Not worth dealing with rude weird people to get in.

Yelp
I personally love Bimbos! Upstairs you enjoy Bimbos - they are a restaurant that is covered in velvet paintings, luchador masks, bottle caps, and more! The service CAN be slow at times (they have an amazing happy hour and it gets busy) but the people helping me have always been friendly. I've literally tried every margarita on their menu - they are ALL amazing! My favorites are the grapefruit margarita, the bartenders margarita, and the jalapeno pomegranate margarita (it really has a kick). I've also tried every taco on the menu - my personal favorites are the fish tacos and the peppered shredded beef tacos double decker style! I usually leave having had at least two tacos and two margaritas and my bill will be around $15/$20. Downstairs you enjoy Cha Cha's - they are a dark bar with a cantina/dungeon feeling. There are red lights, red booths, and a small bar. Cha Cha's is nice when you are day drinking - it's super quiet down there during the day - I generally try to avoid it at night.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Taco Tuesday? I say Taco Everyday. The number one best thing about Bimbos is their double decker tacos! DOUBLE DECKER! And at no extra charge. I'm drooling just thinking about them. They take your basic taco and turn it into a magical blend of that soft and crunchy magic you've always wanted, a soft shell with beans enveloped around a hard shell and then filled to the brim with your protein or starch of choice (go for the fish! Or the pork! Or the potatoes!) and topped with lettuce and some sauce, maybe a few jalapeños. Mmm. Are you hungry yet? Happy Hour is everyday from 4-8 AND all day Sundays and Mondays. The service isn't always amazing, but it's never terrible and the food isn't always consistent but it's always cheap and I've never been disappointed. Not a fan of tacos? Well that's weird, but they always have a plethora of burritos, nachos, and a salad or two. Feeling adventurous? Try your burrito wet! Or try the inferno nachos! And of course, don't forget about the double decker tacos!
google avatar

Yelp
Margarita time at Bimbo's!!! I enjoy their happy hour margaritas or sharing a pitcher (of beer) with some friends. Good times! The servers have been friendly enough, but nothing has really stood out when it comes to service. Hungry for tacos? They've got 'em on special during happy hour! I wasn't a big fan of the fish tacos and I found the potato taco texture to be very strange because I expect taco fillings to not be so... mashed... but, they were both filling. They just kind of made me wish I wasn't trying to limit my meat consumption to just the times when I really crave it or when it's a special treat (ie: to-die-for steak, raw venison poke, etc). Their meat tacos are probably tasty... but not my idea of a special treat. The photo booth downstairs is... something else. The photos take way long to print and the booth was full of what I think were FRUIT FLIES.... but, we got at least a couple of good photos before getting the hell out of that booth! I think next time I'll skip the food, and go straight for the booze!

Yelp
I hate to base a review on poor, surly service...so I didn't. The food didn't impress, the margaritas were small and weak, the tortilla chips were stale and not worth having to ask the rude waiter several times to please bring a basket to the table. Where's the fiery flavor that this place is supposed to be known for? Bland, bland, bland. Its local reputation has blown its ego out of proportion. There will be no return trip for this customer and no recommmendations to friends.

Yelp
This past winter, I was excited when I found the new Bitchin Burrito location as I have not been there since they moved. I was not at all impressed when I first walked in.. very sterile feeling compared to the old place.. but fun ol music was playing loudly so we were excited it must still be the same? We ordered a pitcher of beer and got some menus.. the surly waitress brought our pitcher, 'slammed it down' followed by the stack of pint glasses, 'slammed those down'. Literally 'dropped' the silverware from above our heads onto the table.. wow, I get so sick n tired of 'hipster servers' that have to cop attitude for no reason other than you came in.. it does not make the place cool, it is just bad service?!? I tried to stay upbeat as I was happy and wanted my funky burrito.. it had been like a year! C finishes his first beer.. gets to the bottom of it.. then we see there were 'shards of glass' in it. He turns a bit green as he pulls a shard off his lip, it DID NOT cut him.. but 'that was close'. I waved the waitress down and said "Wow, oh my god.. he has glass pieces in his pint." I wait for her reply. She says "It happens" and turned and grabbed another glass, I say an "I'm sorry would be nice?." she turns away as if too busy. Here I am in a good mood with some friends I never get to see, the food had just arrived so we eat the cold burritos (sadly the food is not even good here anymore) and I am LIVID but drop it only cause C said he was luckily ok.. But I was haunted that night of a nightmare that could have been, me hauling c to the emergency room to pull glass from his throat or stomache.. all due to the ATTITUDE PROBLEMS of 'bichin burrito waitress' who is causing a DANGEROUS situation! By Monday after telling a few people the story, they suggested I call for the manager. I was told he was on vac.. left message and reason but my call was never returned.. well neither will I or my friends that witnessed this situation! If you go, don't accept slammed pints from staff- (As the bottoms crack into shards-- you careless B%$#!)

Yelp
This place is super rad for vegans and people with vegan friends. They have Follow Your Heart vegan cheese, and their beans and rices are all vegan. And they make great Beer Margaritas. Seriously. I'll be back once per week all summer long. Here is some more info on their vegan nachos: http://www.veganscore.com/2010/05/viva-nachos-coma-sus-nachos.html

Hans R.

Yelp
Service was good, but food is not worthy of being called Mexican. Street tacos are primitive and cheap, same holds for the burritos. Won't come here again
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
Nom nom nom nom. So after my girlfriend got her new tattoo next door at Supergenius we were starved and headed for some burritos and a margarita. The burritos were really good, as was the chips and salsa and the margarita was super strong. Such a good late lunch - I will have to come back to try some other offerings soon.
google avatar

Rayna S.

Yelp
Great place for stoner nachos and blended margaritas! This place is great ! Staff friendly love the atmosphere. This is always a fun place to bring friends that visit Seattle. Two thumbs up ! Keep up the great work !
google avatar

Yelp
This is a reactionary review regarding food ordered through Eat24. Must admit I've had a good time in the bar and had a great margarita there, but sometimes a bad experience is more likely to compel a comment. The burritos we ordered were pretty lame. I work night shift in a hospital near the spot, so was excited to try them as a good option for delivery. Ordered the inferno burrito. Delivery time was fast, but my order was atrociously wrong and my heart was thus broken. Crying myself to sleep. My requested veg-only burrito had some kind of meat in it (or meat lookin thinnnng- I'm aware they have vegan meat, but I definitely didn't request that and didn't want to risk tasting it.) Was missing some of the add ons that I paid for. Also, the portion size is kinda lame for the price. (Jab jab!) Go ahead and call me a fat kid. Won't order again.:(:(:(
google avatar

Mayte L.

Yelp
You had me at $1 chips and salsa (tasted homemade and delicious). I've come to this place several times and have never had bad food/experience-- and it's one of my go-to's. I bring most of my out of town friends here because I love the vibe.
google avatar

Patricia B.

Yelp
Umm never get hard tacos here. Beans rice n meat burrito not bad. Actually only reason to bump to 2 stars. Service wasn't bad. But it wasn't good either. Kept it at 2 stars. Ambience was like going to an American wrestling joint and they had all hulk hogan. Cool guy. El Santo. But nothing to write home about. Unnecessary to revisit.
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Now here was a pleasant surprise. Very nice ambience and a friendly bartender for my lunchtime arrival. I asked if he could have me in and out in 30 minutes and he said probably yes. I ordered a chicken taco salad and it was way better than the norm. It was filled with olives and sunflower seeds and had a complete flavor profile that was very satisfying. I was finished under half an hour with time to spare.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
This place seems tiny. And it is, except when you consider there is also a downstairs! WHAT? That's right, you can also go downstairs which will be surprisingly empty, even on a Friday night.. except when it gets a bit later and the bros come rolling in. When the heck did the bro revolution start, anyway? They ruin everything! Well, they've got a pretty jam packed bar, not a whole lot of beers on tap, but a really excellent menu. Great tortilla chips, tacos, all your heart desires. In case of denseness, this place is Mexican food. So expect the menu items to be as such. Fun place, but if you dislike crowds it gets annoying and super LOUD. Go on an off day at off hours, it's a really chill atmosphere.
google avatar

Brianna S.

Yelp
The complaints as well as complements on this place are both legit. Bimbo's reminds me a lot of a Mexican place in San Diego called Pokez. I don't know who was first, or really care, both are pretty tasty. If you like one, you will definitely like the other. I went here for the first time about 6 years ago. The place was still there and after all this time, still delish. They have happy hour all day Sunday and Monday... So of course I ordered the half order of nachos, fish taco and a grilled potato taco. Though I may have been slightly intoxicated before getting here, and alcohol always makes food taste *that* much better, I do think their fish tacos are one of the best I've had. The only unfortunate thing with both these spots is the service. Don't expect friendly service unless you are a usual, or to get refills without asking for them. I'm not expecting anything magical when eating at little Mexican joint, but I do expect the server to not have a stick in their you know what. Despite the lousy service I will be back. Some spots are just too good and cheap to forget. I just have to mentally prepare myself to be neglected before going in.
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Just a note; I rarely sit-in here. Getting in, the front door person can be nice, or make you feel like you've committed grand-theft. And I've only eaten one thing here over the years. So this review may or may not be helpful to you. But...if you're looking for a SUPREME burrito, keep reading. (Sorry, no pics. Usually, I just put my foil-wrapped baby into my pocket or eat it as I walk.) Side note: I'm still a little sad that Bimbo's Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen had to leave its home on Pine St. years back--the decor was quirky and fun. Bimbo's 'Cantina' doesn't have the same ambiance. Back to the burrito. I always get the Down Home Burrito WITH their roasted, shredded chicken. Make sure to ask for it and the zesty sour cream too. Me, I prefer pinto beans--so much more flavor than black beans! Skin-on garlic mashed potatoes, cilantro, lettuce and olives...I'm annoyed that I don't have one in my pocket now. But they're on EAT24! Order one for delivery if you want to avoid parking on Capitol Hill and see if it's not the best chicken burrito you've ever had!
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
My review probably falls somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. You can't beat the prices here for the quality of food, especially at lunchtime. I ordered the Bimbo's burrito with a PBR and had to get a to-go container for the last bit of my burrito! For such a cheap meal, it was both filling and delicious (especially with a ton of their jalapeno hot sauce). I read some other reviews on here before going and am impressed by how badly everyone speaks of the service. They were nice and attentive. No one came by with a tray to sweep up our crumbs after every bite, but again -- go with reasonable expectations. It's a divey sort of place. Cool decor (lots of lucha libre) and cheap eats. They have excellent portions and nice staff. What's not to like, for what it is?
google avatar

Trisha F.

Yelp
Do not overlook this place for food! For years I would head straight downstairs without giving Bimbo's so much as a second glance. These days I am much (okay, a little) wiser. The food is delicious, you can take it downstairs if you wish, and they have tons of hot sauces, including Aardvark. I usually grab a shredded beef burrito for takeout while I am at work, but I happened to come in with a friend last night. We only had drinks (pomegranate jalapeno strongly recommended), but our server Robin was awesome! My friend has been out of the country for grad school for 3 months, so once a lightweight has turned into fear of alcohol poisoning after so much as looking at shots. Robin was really great about checking in on us, refilling water, and especially nice about getting Kara a "shot" of water and pineapple back so she could make me look like less of an alcoholic. We ran into a regular at our bar, who insisted on shots, going so far as demanding Kara take one. Robin told him she would get Kara a shot, then dressed up a water with lime and no one was any wiser. I was really impressed that she went so far to make my friend comfortable. Great service, great drinks, great food!

Yelp
Bimbo's is a cool little spot! I love stopping by there with friends to grab some food, drinks, or some awesome Sangria! Their burritos are amazing, tasty, and a great size! I am a huge sauce fiend, especially hot sauce, which they definitely do not lack. They have a whole two shelves for you to choose some sauce! That's pretty awesome-sauce-tastic if you ask me. They have good drink specials on happy hour, great margaritas, and awesome sangria! The atmosphere is also really fun! Worth checking this place out! Also, if you come later and want to keep the party going, the ChaCha is downstairs. Fun spot!

Shawna M.

Yelp
Asked the bartender for a drink and he gave me the wrong drink and told him about it and he was like well I'm gonna have to double charge you, even though it was his mistake? Wtf! Good food though....
google avatar

Tom C.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in a couple of years and stopped by a couple of weeks ago for drinks and dinner. Dinner was a mistake. This isnt a bad joint to have a drink or two, but this is not a place you go to for mexican food. This is a bar that happens to serve food that is technically mexican food - I have had better mexican in the freezer section of my local market. Pass on the food...unless you've been drinking and need something to eat and quality/flavor doesnt matter.

Yelp
One of the spots I take my friends when they visit Seattle. Great happy hour and the vibe downstairs is really fun

Yelp
Came in around 10, the bar was not full by any means. There were 5 employees as I could see. Sat there for about 20 minutes with out acknowledgment from the staff and watched them drink their drinks and continually pass me over and over. By their reviews they do this often.

Yelp
Great hh nachos. I got them with pork, and was very happy about that. The chips I think might've come from Costco, but if you want super authentic Mexican food, maybe don't go to Capitol Hill. Idk if it's just during happy hour, but the chips and salsa weren't free. I think they were $2, which is fine. It's inexpensive, it tasted good, the people were friendly, and the bar tender kept my Diet Coke fresh, and didn't charge me for refills. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back, but I liked it.
