The accommodations here were pretty much everything we needed, minus a mini fridge and microwave, for our fishing vacation. There was a store right on site for extra sun shirts, Gatorade, ice, and snacks. I don't know if they sell bait, we brought our own. I also don't know if they store large catch for you, we stored our own in coolers. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The location was great, close to customs and immigration. They had carts to load and unload the boats. It was easy in and out on the boat to get to fishing spots or snorkeling spots (though be aware the current can get strong through the docks); very close to the Sapona wreck and honeymoon harbour (a must see, bring bait fish or squid to feed). They also had a dive company on site that will take out tours for dolphins, sharks, and more (some activities have a 6 person minimum, and make sure you're in season if you want to see hammerheads). We chose not to do any shark feeding but the staff was still helpful letting us know where we could snorkel on our own to see some toothy locals 🦈, plus we did see nurse sharks, a bull shark, and a tiger off of the fish feeding dock. My only gripe besides the lack of fridge/microwave, which for us wasn't really even that big of a deal, would be that the pool table needed updating, and service was slower at the restaurant than what were used to in the USA, but you have to remember that A) this is island time, and B) I see people complaining about prices but aside from fresh catch everything probably has to be imported, so you can't expect things to come cheap, and it's not unusual to see gratuity already put on the bill. It's the resort's way of guaranteed payment for their staff and I see that as fair, but we tipped anyway.

What a delight this place was after days on a cruise ship. Treat yourself. We popped into here via shuttle and cab (only $5 per rider) after a fantastic shark snorkel next door with Neal Watson Dive Center. Lovely to have a true island flavor, relaxing on the water by a marina with a local beer. Table mate said it was an incredible mahi sandwich (it was thick!). The fries were great, there were vegetarian options, including an impossible burger that was juicy and not overdone … I added guacamole; no cheese. Service was prompt and very friendly.

Sailed through the night from Miami and arrived to the marina at 9am. Friendly dockhands allowed me to dock on the sea wall to visit customs and immigration. They quickly gave me a slip. Only negative about the slip was the cleats were all loose and about to pull off the dock. Yikes! We found the hotel very accommodating. Great big one bed room with a chilly AC unit. Refrigerator worked well. Patio with two nice chairs overlooking pool. We ate each meal in the bar/restaurant. Great staff at the bar. A million frozen drink options. Every sandwich, fries, and lemonade I ordered was $50. That’s my only complaint- expensive food. So it’s not a five star resort but for the Bahamas it was very pleasant.

For an older resort we had a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, and the room was large with a nice balcony to watch the boats go by. We kept our boat in the marina behind the resort and you can’t beat that convenience of having customs right there next to the dock master. There’s a lot of games for the kids to be entertained (foos ball, giant connect 4, ping pong, etc) and a great restaurant overlooking the water we had breakfast and dinner at several times. The downside, they close the kitchen at 9pm. The downside on the room, no fridge and it can be loud at night with the car noise outside your door. Staff was friendly and helpful. ||Beware the golf carts rental companies though. Hotel has several suggested companies but stay away from Humpys and Deals on Wheels. They gave us carts with no brakes, no lights that overheated, and then stole them back to rent them to cruise ship passengers. We rented two carts that were stolen the same night and they told us they were wrecked and nothing they could do for us.

We had a great visit at the marina. Especially nice was Chloe, she answered all of our questions and helped us get a golf cart rental. BBGC is not fancy but it's well run and provides the old Bahamas vibe in a good way.

Pros: The staff are very friendly and despite reviews of slow service on the island we have read about, the service was very good. Monique and the other waitstaff in the upstairs restaurant were very pleasant and provided great service. Food is good and a varied drink menu for those wanting island drinks. The marina is beautiful. Beds were comfortable and the AC worked. ||Cons: The “resort” is a little run down. It’s a fishing and diving camp, more so than a resort. Several areas needed maintenance updates. If you want frills, this probably isn’t your place. If you want to fish or dive, it works. It’s not a place I’d take the family for a vacation, but it worked for our needs on this trip.

The Bimini Hammerhead dive is incredible and the dive center is quite good, the resort however… The room is okay, no fridge and safe unusable, but okay size. The food was okay (main restaurant) to terrible (Pizza). Apparently they use some low fat cheese on the pizza? At least that was the guess of another guest. No clue, but was absolutely terrible. Even hungry, I only managed two slices… The service in the main restaurant is horrible. They take 18 % even though you have to order drinks at the bar and after ordering don’t even know which table the food is for. In the main restaurant I ordered a cheese burger without onions (allergic) and sweet potato fries. When I got my food the burger had onions. Maybe someone else got the onion free burger or it wasn’t told the kitchen at all. When I paid in cash I wanted 3 $ change back as 18 % was enough for that service. Suddenly the personal no longer spoke English and pocketed 18% + 3,30 $ as tip. I felt ripped off and stolen from. But what can you do, except warn others.

The food was a joke. McDonalds was better. Staff disconnected and did not care. Store inside was one of the better stores on the island but that is not saying much. This place is outdated. Would never go back ever with free trip. Hotel pool is in the middle of the hotel and has no view. Pool bathrooms look like crack dens. Anyone writing a positive review must have been on a boat a lot.
