We had lunch at this very cool place on an out of the way street in Strasbourg. They specialize in tarte flambee (flammkuchen) and we loved it! Each of us got a different tarte, then we split an apple cinnamon tarte for dessert. The apple cinnamon was my personal favorite, but they were all delicious. We had reservations, and were glad of it. Locals appeared to love the place too. Highly recommended.

Very nice restaurant with lots of different Flammkuchen to choose from. The staff was super nice and helpful. We got places at the bar, even without a reservation.

Fun vibes for late eats. We got very nice wines and two tarte flambées. One with walnuts and another sweet one with apples and actual flambée. Both were top notch flavours. Highly recommend eating here.

Stopped in for lunch today on a visit to Strasbourg. Had a reservation but the bartender got us seated immediately outside with drinks and menu. We got two tarte flambees and they were excellent, super friendly staff. Would recommend for anyone visiting the city.

Good spot for lunch. Large mushroom tarte. Cool place not in the immediate touristy section of the center. Local wines and beers. Would come back.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. We’ve only had the frozen tarts from Trader Joe’s in the US so arrived before they opened so we could try fresh Alsatian tarts. They graciously gave us a table and we enjoyed the three savory tarts we ordered.

La Binchstub is a tartes flambee specialist with a few branches around Strasbourg including this little spot ( on tiny Imp. de l'Écrevisse, just off Place Brogile. They are open for lunch and dinner seating times and a small interior with tight seating so worth making reservations if you want guaranteed tables. During our lunch at La Binchstub Brogile we were served up two delicious tartes flambee. The Munster with cumin and bacon was fantastic. The cumin added a really nice change of aroma and taste compared to traditional Munster on its own. We also very much liked the Comte with walnut and bacon. Both perfectly served with near wafer thin crust, crispy on the outside yet just sturdy enough to hold the ingredients. Loved the tartes flambee here, as good as we found in Strasbourg during our recent trip. Would gladly return to eat here again next time in Strasbourg. This is an easy place to recommend for anyone wanting to try the traditional Alsace tartes flambee.

Enjoyed it so much, I went twice. The tarte flambée was amazing. The local wines, delicious. Abdel Kareem who prepares the tartes friendly and a pleasure to chat with. Such a pleasant Strasbourg experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Amazing find if you are in the area. Atmosphere was relaxed, even with the place busy on a Tuesday night. Staff was attentive and made English speakers feel welcome. But the highlight is the food. Small menu done well. Absolute must if you are looking for something downtown and above the rest.

Yelp
When your local guide says a restaurant has the best flambee in a town full of flambees, you go there. And he was right. The flambee with brie, ham, and arugula was perfect in the cozy atmosphere with a great glass of local wine. If I hadn't been alone, I would have loved to have tried one of their dessert options, but I just couldn't eat anymore. I also have to give a special shoutout to the staff as they were great--I especially loved the 90s hiphop playlist!

Yelp
Great place - an extension of the small location at the Red Barrel street due to how small the original location was. Same abso-fucking-lutely amazing tarte flambees, including sweet and vegetarian options (don't even think not ordering them while you are there), same great selection of beers and wines and the bartenders/servers that are just as much fun and are throwing out just as much jokes as the staff of the original location, but without a need to reserve a month in advance or come an hour before opening or wait for a couple of hours for a tarte flambee. Oh, and their rum-infusions are out of this world as well. Overall, both of the Binchstubs are places where I go myself whenever I am in Strasbourg or where I send people who ask me for where to get quality food on the central island of Strasbourg or whenever we are going out to eat with vegetarian friends. Abso-freaking-lutely would recommend. And if you go there, don't forget to tip the bartenders and servers - they don't live off it, as in the US, but they sure do deserve it.

Yelp
Delicious taste flambés. Arrived without a reservation when they opened - the kind hostess found a spot for us at a communal table. Service was friendly even to two Americans with limited French. Tartes were delicious - a thin crispy crust with a cheesy sauce and toppings. Recommend highly.

Yelp
The food was incredible and the staff ridiculously nice! Great selection of local wines and the staff spoke a little English & patiently explained the menu to me. Was recommended by a local & so happy I went!
