I am so happy I found this spot. It is a multi story market where each floor is dedicated to different folk crafts, including traditional toys, pottery, paper, fabric, etc. It was filled with the exact kind of items I was hoping to find a gifts for people back home in terms of quality, utility, beauty, and uniqueness. They also wrapped everything very well and carefully (even takin the time to grind down the rough edges of a ceramic piece we bought).

Worth the small drive from our hotel. Gorgeous folk art including the usual ceramics, paper, and dyed textiles with the addition of traditional toys. Some items vintage, some antique and some new. Friendly staff too

Beautiful shop full of a wide variety of traditional Japanese crafts. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, the staff were helpful & friendly & took the greatest of care individually wrapping all of my purchases. I would totally recommend a visit to the store for individuals looking for quality affordable souviners.

Must visit if you’re visiting Japan and willing to shop the very best craft forms all the country at the right cost. It’s a little far from Shinjuku but really worth a visit.

Four floors of beautifully curated craft art from Japan from paper boxes to clay toys, from hand dyed fabric to ceramic ware, every item is well made and represent the highest craft of it’s kind in Japan. A perfect place to get gifts for someone who is creative. The staff is very friendly and speak English pretty well.

Best place to buy traditional Japanese craft pieces. Sashiko material, indigo traditional garments. Traditional wooden and paper toys at B1. I highly recommend.

This is an awesome store! Exactly what I was looking for, floors of folk arts and handmade goods. It was hard to make a decision but we came out with two lovely masks and a sake set. The shop owners were very kind and wrapped our purchases very nicely in bubble wrap and boxes.

Yelp
This is one of the better places to buy all kinds of traditional Japanese crafts, ranging from dyed fabrics to wooden toys to dishes and many other things. The quality of the handmade items is excellent throughout the multi-level shop. I particularly loved the dishes on the second floor. The prices are higher than some places, but you are paying for quality stuff made in Japan by artists and craftsmen. I bought six soup bowls that are unbelievably beautiful, and I was so nervous about getting them all the way home through flights, taxis and trains in one piece. They wrapped them very securely and everything survived just fine (I did carry them on the plane to improve their chances). The shop is located in a very quiet part of Shinjuku and it is well worth the time to explore some of the streets around the shop, particularly those with homes of local Japanese. It was a lot of fun seeing how everyone planted their gardens and tended to their homes. Definitely stop into Bingoya and plan on bringing an extra empty carry on suitcase if you do go, because you'll probably need it.

Yelp
All sorts of awesome, hand made Japanese crafts. The prices are a little on the high side but the quality of the goods is clearly very high. I had no trouble at all finding a very nice going away gift for a good friend (beautiful furoshiki).
