Traveling With an Eating Disorder

"Natural hot springs where floating in warm, mineral-rich pools offered restorative calm and a bodily experience of relaxation that contrasted with earlier anxieties, serving as a healing, present-focused moment on the trip." - Hannah Howard

What can I say—this place was exactly what I was dreaming of! I wanted to avoid the crowded tourist spots but still soak in amazing hot springs, and this place delivered beyond my expectations. I literally had every pool to myself after 6 p.m.! The three upper pools tucked into the trees were pure magic —hands down my favorites. The hottest hot pool is down by the larger pool area. If you're craving serenity, peace, and a break from the chaos of tourist-heavy areas, this is the spot. And the massage therapist? Absolutely incredible. I can't say enough good things—she's a gem. Even with my very limited Spanish, everyone genuinely kind. I would come back here in a heartbeat. It's only about 45 minutes from La Fortuna, and they even have a great tour guide they recommend. If you want private, peaceful hot springs in the evening, you have to stay here. The springs are open to the public until around 6 p.m., but I was out exploring day and this was the perfect place to come back to!

The BEST service this place has to offer is booking a massage with Marlen. OMG!!! 5 🌟 I've never met anyone as good in the U.S. The B&B is nice and perhaps I'm being selfish. You have to share the hot springs with loads of outsiders and it gets packed. On a good note, you can see many different types of birds. That's a plus. 😊

This was a neat place to visit for a soak in some hot springs. The springs are all concrete pools at different temperatures. We didn’t stay here, but did enjoy a couple hours. They have shelters and tables that you could use to eat or hang out in but we didn’t bring any food or utilize them. We did however get to see monkeys in the trees around the property!

Nice for family BBQ and a day at the thermals. Cool pools to swim in some were warm none were hot. Great for a warm summer day. Entry price was reasonable!

We visited the hot springs but did not stay at the hotel. We loved the hot springs. They were so beautiful and it was such a a special experience soaking in hot springs in the middle of the rainforest.

Just stopped here after a day of hiking to check out the thermal spas. Was a great way to relax and wind down. Very affordable, clean, several spas nestled in the trees felt very secluded and natural.

Went there for the hot springs only and arrived rather late in the day. It was a lot of fun!
