Bio- und Wellnesshotel Stanglwirt

We enjoyed every moment of our two day stay here. The decor of our room was rustic, cozy and very clean. Everywhere we go in the hotel area and grounds, the view is gorgeous. We tried all the restaurants on site: amazing taste and service. The hotel restaurant has several sections, we’ve tried seating in all sections; they are beautifully decorated. The spa experience was out of this world. While this hotel’s decor is not “luxurious” by modern standard, what made our stay special were the top notch service, the food, the farm animals, and the view. We’d give 6 stars, if we could.

First visit to Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt - it is lovely hotel with lots of wooden features and spacious. There is lots to do and the weekly itinerary has different activities. The room was also lovely with the decorative wooden furniture, very comfortable, with everything you could need. The room was cleaned daily and well. There was lots to do in the Spa, with a good choice of steam rooms, plunge pools etc and it was well-stocked with towels and clean. The restaurant food was delicious and varied and the waiting staff were friendly and helpful. We tried the beauty room and the hairdressers and had great experiences at both. Most of the staff speak english but sometimes it was difficult to explain/understand. The location of the hotel is not great being off a main road, but I understand there is a bus stop nearby (although we did not use it), and not being close to anything within walking distance. A lovely place to get away and relax.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of July. While the location is beautiful and the food is very good, I cannot recommend this hotel to any family with children because of what happened to my daughter in their kids club. The kids club organized an activity where children jumped from a high edge into hay. While this can be fun, it is also dangerous if not supervised properly. In our case, my daughter (4 years old) was left unattended near bigger kids. A much older and taller boy forced her to jump, and she landed badly on the wooden edge. Her elbow was dislocated and fractured. After seven weeks in a cast, three doctors confirmed that the injury was serious and now requires surgery. Unfortunately, this will affect her for the rest of her life. This accident was 100% avoidable if the kids club staff had done their job. Small children should never be mixed with much older ones during risky activities. At a minimum, staff should have been present to supervise and enforce clear rules. The day after the accident, I spoke with the kids club and they admitted they had too many children to monitor. Later, I asked to meet with management to suggest safety improvements, but my request was ignored. Instead of addressing the seriousness of the situation, they sent a bottle of champagne to our room. That response felt careless, irresponsible, and deeply disappointing for a hotel that advertises itself as one of Austria’s best family hotels. For me as a mother, the minimum expectation of a family hotel is safety. No luxury or amenities matter if children are not safe. Sadly, safety is not a priority here, and my daughter now faces surgery and lifelong consequences because of their negligence. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone with kids.

An amazing hotel spa experience from start to finish. The location is beautiful, the hotel is very large but gorgeously decorated, the food is world-class, and the service from all staff was exceptional. The indoor/outdoor pools were a place I returned to daily during my stay. I had a great massage, attended a really good yoga class, and blissed out to a sound bath meditation class while we all floated on air mattresses in a heated pool. Looking out the windows to see sheep, goats, cows, and Lippanzer horses was a charming bonus.

We have just enjoyed our first visit to the Stanglwirt and spent seven days in this beautiful hotel. It was a unique experience and despite rainy weather there was always plenty to do. We had three children with us including two teens and they were very happy in the amazing pool complex. The hotel is immaculately clean and we could not fault the staff. The restaurants had delicious food and we loved the view of the cow stalls. The hotel made my husband’s birthday very special and even baked him a cake. We loved our time at the Stanglwirt and only wish we could have had some more sunshine!

Their booking system is the crapiest I've experienced. They scattered us (we were three families) throughout the whole hotel and placed our teenage daughters in a completely different part of the hotel. |Plus, the hotel is a HUGE maze/ sports complex. it has zero charm and some rooms (like ours) will stare into a huge grass wall, with a sound wall of tennis balls being hit constantly. There is nothing serene or relaxing about this place.

Food okey - Topfen Knödel were the best. Service not attentive. Overrated, expensive.

The Stanglwirt is a beautiful experience. This was our second time at the Stanglwirt and we were as equally impressed and happy with it as our first time. The hotel is surrounded by the beautiful mountains and there are also animals on the property which can be seen from the rooms. The rooms are made of wood with luxury details and bedding. The property has several activities available for the guests. You are able to participate in yoga or horseback riding for example. Everyday there is a different set of activities for the guests. The food is typical Tyrolean and made with fresh and local ingredients. Room service is available which we made use of a lot having two small children. The rooms, view, and room service are so nice that some nights we did not leave our room and just enjoyed the dinner in the room with the view. There are both indoor and outdoors pools as well as children’s pool with a very fun slide even for the adults! There is also a beautiful spa, in which I received a massage which turned out to be top 3 best massages I’ve had. We loved our stay and look forward to more holidays there. Two minor things for international travelers to make note of. It seems the majority of guests are primarily German speaking, thus, naturally, the staff is also mostly German speaking. This was not an issue for us as we speak German but it could be for international travelers who only speak English. Most staff did have some knowledge of English but not all. Other small thing to note if you come from a country with air conditioning is that there seemed to be none. So, that would be something to consider if you are used to that in the summer months. Other than those two minor things, this hotel is amazing and highly recommended! It is the perfect blend of nature, tradition, relaxation and luxury.
