BIOPARC Acuario de Gijón

I didn't expect much from this place, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's good on different levels. It starts from kind English speaking staff. Then you start the rout. And they managed to gently immerse you, little by little, into the bio world. Whoever designed the park did an incredible job. "Well, that was very nice. Probably that's it", you think. And then you get to another level of the park, that is even more impressive. Then you think, "For sure, now that's the end. What else could they show". But again they manage to show even more. By far that was the best place I visited in Gijón. And I will definitely visit again. Also it has areas where you can sit and just relax watching the aquarium. And there are several clean bathrooms along the route.

My toddler loved this aquarium and it was as they say “fun for the whole family”. It’s not super big but who cares, it seems like all the animals had clean habitats and they were some really nice exhibits. The big tank with the sharks And the sea turtles was really amazing.

Beautiful place, the kids loved it and highly recommend the VR experience. We loved the education element, we would love to go there again.

This place is amazing- my husband uses a mobility scooter and was easy to get around. Much more to see than appears at first sight. Lots of useful explanations at each exhibit. Can also recommend the cafe. Capuccino best we have had in Spain! You can use the cafe without visiting the rest - but you would be missing out on a spectacular couple of hours.

Very nice aquarium. Not the biggest or the most modern. But they had a lot of species I have not seen in other aquariums.

Great place for both kids and adults! We visited on a Tuesday, and got to attend the Zebra Shark training and saw two scuba divers feeding the rays! The great aquarium is pretty spectacular, yet the who place has a lovely serene vibe. All the info was also in English, which was great for us! Definitely worth a visit!

I was here on a Monday afternoon in August - while I was doing Camino del Norte - and it was quite busy with (loud) children. The aquarium is nice, and they have quite some exotic fishes and small reptiles, but it is not really spectacular. If you have visited aquariums before, I would recommend skipping this one. The entrance price is €20, which I found ridiculously high considering the price level in (this part of) Spain.

Incredible experience. The whole expo is fantastic, but we especially liked jellyfish. So mesmerizing.
