Birch Cafe

My friend and I came here for breakfast two days in a row because it was so good. Their espresso is expertly pulled, milked beautifully frothed, and their baked goods and savory items are delicious. I highly recommend it if you are in the area!

This is one of the earliest operating cafes in the area, and they roast their own beans. The aesthetic and service are nice, but they have relatively short staff for the morning rush. We had their takeaway coffee, and it was bitter for the latte and flat white

Cozy little coffee shop with a very tempting selection of pastries. I chose the lemon curd cruffin and I can't recommend it enough! The place is small and, unfortunately, there is not a lot of tables available. However, the staff is very attentive and jumps in to clean any free tables so you can sit and enjoy your coffee break. Definitely a great place to visit while in Portree!

I had breakfast at Birch Cafe on a Monday and got there right at 8 am. There was already a line and some tables were taken. We were able to grab two seats but it was steadily busy and full until 8:30 am. There are a lot of coffee drinks, pastries, and sweet and savory breakfast items to order. We got a cappuccino, mocha, sourdough with scrambled eggs and chorizo, focaccia with house made hummus, and a bunch of pastries. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was great. This is a worthwhile stop in Portree.

A great little coffee shop with small to medium bites to eat. The coffee itself is nice (we had a mocha and flat white) but the food is where the store shines. The chorizo and egg on sourdough was rich, and their pastries are really nice. The staff is friendly. It does get busy quickly, and there is limited seating, so you might need to grab and go. Definitely the best breakfast in Portree.

Stopped for breakfast and we weren’t disappointed. Cakes and pastries looked amazing too but we were stuffed from our eggs as a surprisingly large portion. It’s a very small, quite cramped space so not suitable for groups. We were lucky to get a spot for the two of us!

While it was busy when we walked in, the tables turn over quickly and there’s a walk-up counter easily available for take away. We had no problem grabbing a table for 2. The coffee is so well done and the egg scramble with chorizo on sourdough was absolute perfection.

This cafe felt like one straight from Melbourne, Australia. Good coffee and yummy pastries. It was very busy when we visited, but no wonder, because it's good.
