4 Best Day Trips from Philadelphia | Condé Nast Traveler

"The Bird in Hand is packed with a little bit of everything, from specialty shops, bakeries, and stalls selling handcrafted goods (candles, clip-clopping rocking horses) to meat, produce, candy, and fresh baked goods. The tempting smells are a siren’s song for hungry tourists: You'll see them milling around alongside locals picking up meat and produce for the week. Don't go home without one of Amish country's signature foods, like shoo fly pie and cheddarwurst; the hand-crafted dolls (sans facial markings, per the strict Amish tradition) are a cool find, too." - Nancy DePalma

If you're anywhere near Lancaster County, do yourself a favor and carve out some time to visit the Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market. This well-sized Amish market is packed with both delicious food and unique goods. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by an abundance of enticing food options—everything from fresh smoothies and shakes to handmade candies, soft pretzels, and an impressive variety of baked goods. We're talking pies, breads, cookies, cakes—you name it. And what’s great is that many of these treats are offered by multiple vendors, so you can sample and compare. Beyond the sweets, there are plenty of savory delights too. We found stalls with fresh fruits and vegetables, rich and creamy cheeses, and butchers offering everything from deli meats to fresh cuts and a huge selection of jerkies. One highlight was a store featuring an extensive variety of nut butters—perfect for sampling and discovering something new. But it’s not just a food lover’s paradise. The market also features a wide range of non-food items including beautiful quilts, handmade clothing, hats, bags, wooden signs, toys, tools, and more. It truly feels like you can find a bit of everything here. While we didn’t get to explore the downstairs Farmers Market Gift Shop on this trip, it appeared to have larger handcrafted furniture and rockers—likely made with the high level of craftsmanship the Amish are known for. In short, Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is a warm, welcoming place with something for everyone. I only wish we had more time to explore the whole market. We'll definitely be back!

Google
Cute market that’s bigger than it looks! The chocolate covered bacon was amazing! The burger was really good also! Shoo-fly pie and home-made root beer all delicious. I’d go back for more. The people are so friendly! The artwork is cute and the crafted item are gorgeous!

Google
Fun place to shop and buy food and souvenirs. Tomatoes and cabbage are HUGE! Good selections of pickles, coffee beans, fudges, Whoopie Pies, candies and fresh produce. Something for everyone.

Google
Clean, bright and neatly organized. The market offered a wide selection of foods and crafts. Nothing unique. But a pleasant way to spend 30.min. and you might find something you like. The food selections were standard for "Amish" markets. But the prices seemed awfully high. 16.99 a pound for Lebanon bologna is just a lot of money.

Google
Amazing place to find all your produce needs! We loved getting fresh rolled butter and other items like fresh berries, honey, and other household goods. I wish I lived closer bc I would do all my weekly shopping here.

Google
Such a great Amish run market. I had a 💔 sandwich that was delicious and reasonably priced. Unlike that restaurant across the street where for 9$ you get half of a sandwich. Stop by and enjoy all the Amish made goodies

Rebecca

Google
cute place with lots of different vendors and many buildings to walk around. there were a few counter cafes to order hit food from and they must have been good since they were really busy.

Darryl

Google
This is a beautiful Farmer's Market. When it comes to crafts from leather goods to hand made quilts to bird houses and dog toys, Farmer's style pictures , snacks, organic foods, snacks, deli meats cooked and uncooked they have it here!

Yelp
Aside from being a total tourist trap I really liked this place. While I wouldn't consider it an authentic Lancaster Co experience, much of the food and goods are Amish made locally. Prices are higher than Roots (a true Lancaster local experience) but this was more upscale. Do come hungry as there's lots you will want to sample. Cash is king but some do accept cards (with an upcharge). Be sure to stop at the sit up counter diner place in the rear. They have a lunch special for around $8 that can't be beat and trust me, you'll want to take extra brocculi salad home for later!

Yelp
Meh - just okay - Im not sure what I was hoping for. Lots of food - local Amish and others. Meats, sweets, wood work, stuffed animals, etc. I bought a big sticker and a plaque for my daughter. Homemade peanut butter treats for my dog!

Yelp
Bird-In-Hand Farmers Market is a decent Lancaster Amish country experience a food hall/vendor type place. It's definitely set up more for tourists, as I didn't see many locals stopping in to shop here, but the workers all seemed to be locals. You can find a produce/vegetable stand, a bakery stand, a soft pretzel stand, and multiple places to buy local snacks/candy. We expected there to be more produce, fruits, and vegetables to be sold here, but there was only one stand selling those, and prices weren't that great. Be sure to try the different flavors of apple cider as you enter as they are refreshing and hit the spot. It's only open 3 days a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. It's a decent, but more low key shopping option without the massive crowds at Kitchen Kettle Village a few minutes away.

Yelp
Such a totally satisfying touristy experience! Anything and everything on three levels. It's like an Amish Walmart! The clerks are very kind and pleasant. The fresh and prepared food concessions are so enticing. I love that the proprietors offer delicious samples. Be sure to take something home for later.

Yelp
What a quaint little market with all sorts of fresh food. We will be back when visiting again. The people were friendly and prices were fair.

Yelp
Food - this place definitely has food, fast food with some stands having Amish folks behind the counter. Liken it a farmers market that has a variety of food items and a couple of places that is like a small cafe or fast food joint that serves up hotdogs, chili, ice cream, baked goods. There is also a fruit stand, various jerkies, clothes, Knick knacks, toys, and a few other shops and specialty items. Service - I'd say at least 30-40% are served up by Amish dressed folks with their own style and looks Ambiance - like an indoor flea market or swap meet. Verdict - definitely a must visit if you are in the area

Yelp
Think big city food hall in a rural setting. Then imagine a place that has some of the best food to purchase or eat in house made by some of the best people around. If you can imagine that, then you have envisioned Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market. I've been to a few food halls in big cities and this one can seriously compete with those. Everything in here seemed so fresh and ready to go. I was in awe with the amount of items they had for selection. Fresh meat, cheese, pastries, and much more. Pair that with a lot of items that have been packaged to take with you so you can enjoy at home. Some of the items may invoke nostalgia in you. I was walking down the aisles and spotted candy that I haven't seen since my grandmother was alive. Instantly I was transported to stealing a piece of it out of the candy bowl she kept on the piano. I am sure this place is super busy in the midst of summer as I can only imagine what they have to offer when it is peak season for just about everything. Such a fun place to visit and one that I look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
We come here every year. We always buy from the chocolate place right in front of gift shop entrance. It's nicely air conditioned. Big free parking lot. Handmade mix/ jams/ sauce/ fudge/ chocolates/ arts and crafts sold here. Arts and crafts not the cheapest but consider it's handmade. There are. A couple sandwich/armish food places with counter seats to enjoy. Very friendly service. Bathroom available at the back of the parking lot in a separate trailer. Tips: Open Fri and Saturday only til 5:30 pm. Add on Wednesday and Thur during summer. Close on Sundays. Check their website for sure for opening hours.

Yelp
Very typical indoor Amish market that dot the Lancaster County landscape, and that is not a bad thing. You'll find all of the big hitters here: jellies and jams, baked goods, crafts and hex signs, chocolates, fresh meats, produce, pretzels, and of course a sit down lunch counter staffed by young Amish women. There is absolutely nothing revolutionary happening here, but it is a good representation of the genre. Very popular on many of the bus routes, so when a few pull in at the same time, it can get a bit claustrophobic inside. As with most Amish markets, hours can be very limited, so be sure to check before you head over.

Yelp
I love this spot. Wonderful homemade candy and crafts. You can get so many things here. Beautiful hand quilted potholders to Mrs Milkets noodles. The restuarant is a added treat. I don,t come to Lancaster county often but when I do this gem is one of my first stops!

Yelp
If you love farmers market, then be sure to check this one out when you're in the area! They have all kinds of hand made items for sale as well as food to try! There was one stand that was selling beef jerky. It was pricey ($8.50/quarter lb) but I really liked their hot and spicy jerky. Be warned, it was really really spicy. Their original was too tough and salty for me. The teriyaki flavor was all gone so that seemed like a favorite. Another stand had some handmade yarn hair dolls that can be personalized! That was super cute but too bad my daughter isn't a fan of dolls. Other things we saw that were being sold: handrolled pretzels, fudge, homemade jams, pastries and baked goods, and smoothies! Attached to the market building is also a souvenir shop, selling apparel and tons of other items. Definitely worth a check in. I bought a shirt shirt that says "Amish Country" for $35. Cannot wait to just be cozy in it! If you're bringing a stroller, it's great that the area between stands is spacious enough for them. If you're looking for bathrooms, they are actually not attached to the market itself. They are outside behind the market building.

Yelp
I was here many years ago and it really doesn't seem to have changed that much.....which is actually positive. There are lots of local vendors selling delicious, fresh food as well as local Amish-made crafts. A great place to stop along the way to pick up treats or souvenirs.

Yelp
Bird in hand farmer's market is definitely a tourist trap. It is set up that way since it is located on Old Philadelphia Pike and houses pretty much everything under one building. Open only on select days during the week the market parking lot gets full fairly quickly. In addition to meats, vegetables, and fruits they have Amish baked goods from well known shops in the area, a counter service food department, a pretzel shop, fudge, Amish jams, noodles, and bagged goods, along with an array of merchandise ranging from leather, quilts, and country crafts. They even sell cider here year round. They even have a separate Amish gift shop that is loaded with tons of Amish souvenirs including faceless dolls, hex signs, baskets, doilies and pretty much everything you would want to get from the area. The designs are the same that you would find in almost any Amish wares store however you are buying quality and not something cheap. With that in mind I purchased a beautiful made Amish doily for my new accent table and a quilted microwave dish holder that acts like a potholder. Since I was too far from home to shop meats I looked over the fruits and vegetables. Most of them were overpriced and overripe. I felt I could do better in my local grocery store for what they were selling her. I did manage to purchase a freshly baked hot soft pretzel to share with my husband. It was very buttery and flavorful. Usually I find these places work best for me when I'm under time constraints or in bad weather. Still it is a great way to browse and get some homemade Amish baked goods when you have some extra time in the area.

Yelp
This is one of the best markets we have been to over all our trips locally and nationally. The food products and food service stations are so great an option that come there ready to be pleased with anything we want or see. The entire place is well kept, almost like the homes of the vendors and they all welcome us in that way too. the quality of everything sold there seems to be hand made or of hand made quality. The choices at each and every vendors booth are so large that we are sure to find what we want unless we are being extraordinarily making it hard on ourselves, so we always leave happy. The entire market is inside with good room to move even what buses show up. This time one of the larger crafts "store" was empty but we expect it to be filled when we return later this year or early next year. Parking is good and enough room all around the building. Make a good impression on any visitors and keeps the competitors on their toes

Yelp
This place is amazing! It's such a nice place to shop and look around! The prices are very good also! All the food and produce and treats are so fresh! Also in all the little stands the owners/employees are so kind! I totally recommend you come and check this Gem out!
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
Good farmers market and an easy place to kill time. They have home decor and gift shops connected with a wide selection of different items. Expect average or lower quality items but they're cute. Also a big open space with different food vendors and everything you could think of. We got some delicious pickled vegetables, dips, and fudge which were all good. Ample parking and friendly folks

Yelp
I found this place a long time ago and it's a staple for my husband and I to come to whenever we visit the area (usually a few times a year for over 11 years - dang I feel old...). Over the years, we noticed that this became a stop on tour buses to the area or maybe it always was and we just started to see them. That's cool and good for the market, but also makes things a bit pricier and sometimes a little more generic. Way back around the time that I think Grandma Jack's popcorn first set up there, we were stocking up on these popcorns. They have steadily risen in price and while we used to get bucket loads each time we went, at around $20 a container for the mixed one we like, it has become too much for us, even as a splurge, for popcorn. The Kettle Village Kitchen also has a little spot there which is nice, where they sell some of their pickles, chips, dips, jams and salsas. This is convenient for when we don't want to head to the Village itself and go through that big store. We usually get the tortilla chips and their mild salsa. They taste great together and we usually get extra chips to use with chili I make at home. So much better than any other kinds I've had. They also have a little food counter to get hot food or beverages, bakeries with local goods, a meat counter, produce, souvenirs, chocolates, chips and more Amish goodies. Now, we usually always make this a stop because I love the cherry apple cider from Kaufman's Fruit Farm so I usually just pop in (it's right by an entrance), grab a gallon, throw it on ice in a cooler and bring it home to Brooklyn (after a day making our rounds lol). There is also a taste section where you can try one they're advertising for 25 cents. Most times that's what we run in for, but on occasion, we'll walk around and crab some snacks as well. If you've never been, it's worth a walk through. Plenty of parking and near other stores to check out.

Yelp
We went there for the very first time just 3 days ago. We thought it was just a small, indoor market place. When we discovered it's 3 floors full of baked goods, organic meats, vegetables, cheeses, handmade crafts, etc, etc, etc... we were really amazed! This place is AWESOME and definitely worth stopping for. You will need around 2 hours here to see everything. There's also a small lunch counter with really good prices and great service. I give this market 5 stars for the convenient location, excellent selection of just about everything you could hope to find, reasonable prices, friendly service. We will definitely return when we're in the area!
google avatar

Ashok J.

Yelp
This is a nice indoor market which has a lot of options to choose from for both dining and buying local goods. We went close to closing time and some shops had goods marked down with low prices to rid of their inventory. Definitely a nice place to visit and buy/eat something local.

TC P.

Yelp
Great amish area. Food was wonderful. Check out Foreat Hill Leather Craft for high quality leather goods.

Yelp
If you are ever in the the Lancaster area don't pass up a chance to come visit this Amish indoor market ! My husband and I take a ride up from NY at least twice a year , once in the Summer and than in the Fall .The scenery alone is truly gorgeous . The market is always busy on Saturdays( they are closed Sun.Mon.and Tues.)it is usually overflowing with lots of folks ,it's totally touristy but tolerable . Come early if you can because they start to run out of the popular items . The vendors are friendly and they are selling all sorts of goodies , from foods to handmade Amish items .At the luncheonette you can enjoy a nice lunch , although I've never eaten here word is that it's excellent ! They have beautiful fresh produce, meats , cheeses , fudge , grains and much more .We have been here so many times so we know just what we want so we head right to our first stop the bakery counter ... we can't leave without their scrumptious apple fritters ! They are oversized , filled with apple pieces and raisins and coated with a sugary glaze ! Their Whoopi pies are also outrageously good , always fresh and moist ! They have quite an assortment of baked items , breads , pies and muffins ! Than we head over to the meats we always get the bacon and maple breakfast sausage. Disappointed today that they ran out of the maple breakfast sausage so we opted for some maple bacon .The bacon is fantastic! I actually buy several pounds and make portions and freeze it . It's much better than store bought and the price is totally reasonable $7.99 lb ! We will return again next summer to stock up ... sure hope they have the maple breakfast sausage next time we visit !!!

Yelp
An ok farmers market. The draw is that it is inside a climate controlled facility. Prices seem pretty high on the truly handcrafted items but the cheaper foreign made items are typical farmers market prices. Prices on vegetables and meats were on par with grocery stores. Had lunch at the grill with counter service. We enjoyed a bacon cheeseburger, a chicken steak and cheese, and 2 taco salads. Taco salads were more like nachos but still tasty. The burger and cheesesteak were really good. They also offer a homemade mint iced tea, it is a must try. The service was great and the prices were cheap. Would definitely eat there again. If I had a cooler or was local I would have tried some thick sliced bacon or some sausages. A good place to kill time if it is really hot, raining, or your looking for something to do while your waiting for your next activity.
google avatar

Meredith B.

Yelp
Love this place. Delicious goodies everywhere. Only wish it was open Sundays so we could have went back to stock up before headi
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
The food and produce segment of the market are great. Most of the other areas of the market were not appealing to us. It is worth a visit when in the area.
google avatar

Sherry V.

Yelp
An experience for sure. Lots of Amish baked goods, canned goods, fresh fruits and veggies and of course crafts. A one stop shopping experience. Can't wait to have some bacon jam tomorrow!!
google avatar

Yelp
The BIH Farmer's Market was next door to our hotel, so it was just a quick walk across the parking lot away. It's a long rectangular building with row after row of vendors that sell a dizzying variety of very cool stuff. What kind of stuff? How about meats, jerkies and beef sticks, fruits and vegetables, cheeses, a terrific assortment of pies and cookies and breads and all sorts of baked goods, all kinds of sweets and chocolates and candies, bulk grains and foods, spices, tea and coffee, all sorts of pretzels and chips and popcorn, sandwiches, fried chicken, jellies, salsas and all types of goodies in cans and jars. Non-food products are represented here too with lots of crafty things like quilts, toys, clothing, etc. There's really something for everyone here
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
Awesome farmers market with a lot of local favorites. This place gets a little too touristy on the weekends so come during the week to avoid obnoxious tourists who think farmers markets accept EBT card.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
The Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is a family-owned indoor market that has been around for more than 30 years. They have different stalls that offers meats, cheese, produce, baked goods, chocolates, food by the bulk, spices, coffee, etc. There is even a hot food 'diner' area that has fried chicken, hot sandwiches, etc., where you can sit at the counter and enjoy your platters. There is a big lot to park your car, but they do tend to fill up quickly over the holiday weekend. +indoor farmers market +free parking at lot
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
I didn't feel comfortable spending time in here or purchasing food as they aren't following COVID regs. Workers had masks off or pulled down, the man cooking fudge had no sign of even having a mask and the Amish workers wear these weird little shields that don't cover anything.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
This is the kind of place i'd normally give 5 stars to! I lovvvvveee past visits to Lancaster area, Amish farms, etc. We started in the upstairs gift shop, where i looked for at least 30 minutes and actually bought a bunch of Christmas gifts. I would have looked and bought more if it wasn't for the employee who was on the phone with costco, arguing and yelling at the employees about costco's mandatory mask rule. Hello, you are at work, keep these phone calls for later and put a smile on your face! I tried to nicely talk to her about covid rules where we live and believe me she has some over the top views. Hello, put a damn mask on out of respect for your customers who are spending $$$$ here! I then met my kids in the farmers market area. I was about to buy some things when my oldest daughter (who has been through having covid) pointed out that almost no one was wearing masks. My other 2 children already left the market to wait in the car. I then bought and tipped lot of things from the only 3 vendors who had masks on. I understand Lancaster has a lot of "no mask" beliefs, but respect the people/tourists spending hard earned $ here. Take into account that we may know people suffering g and who have died from the pandemic.
google avatar

Brianna M.

Yelp
A great experience to teach kids about different ways of life such as the Amish people. The fruit and vegetables are organic and reasonably priced. The Sho Fly Pies are so good and taste fresh not day old from a grocery store. I recommend warming up a piece of Sho Fly Pie in the microwave and adding a dap of whipped cream. It's so good! We also saw so many horse and buggies the day we went!!! A nice place to go for a Weekend drive.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
We had a great time here getting some soft pretzels, chocolate covered bacon, and a a few other edible things. Really fun experience!
google avatar

Andy S.

Yelp
Still fun to visit in covid times even with the samples gone. It's crowded but clean. A good trip down memory lane. I always like to get salsa and get a 25 cent cup of cider
google avatar

Donce M.

Yelp
Just went to the Bird in Hand farmers market for lunch. Ate at a counter where they served fresh lunch items, such as chicken pie and noodles with a side salad, which hit the spot. They also have a variety of baked goods, fudge, smoothies, ciders, and meats. Venue is very clean
google avatar

Ana P.

Yelp
A great selection of products, fair prices, friendly Amish women, ample seating, and an adorable petting zoo can be found at the Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop! They've got everything from unique bird houses, cool beverages, ice cream, books, aprons, handmade soaps, honey, jellies, magnets, postcards, and of course baked goods! The store also sells some items at a reduced rate, such as cinnamon raisin bread, which would last at least three more days (I was told) and could be frozen to keep even longer. The petting zoo was pretty cute: Pygmy goats, fluffy hens and rooster, and even little chicks! If interested, guests could purchase animal feed for $0.25 from the outdoor dispenser. Clean restrooms are available to wash your hands after feeding the goats :)
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
This is a good place to shop, whether you are looking for groceries, treats or souvenirs. The minimum for credit card is different for each vendor, so you need to pay attention to that. Whenever I'm in Lancaster, I usually get nuts and fruit from here. It's a must visit every time.
google avatar

Irma C.

Yelp
I love this Farmer's Market! This is simply a bustling center on the weekends. Everytime we are in Pennsylvania, this is a MUST stop for us. Come hungry as each stall practically offers delicious samples ... jams and jellies, meats, FUDGE, flavored popcorns and other delicious treats. It is very east to impulse buy!!! The little diner style lunch counters have such appetizing menus. i have not eaten there but one of these days, I definitely will! The smells are just too tempting.
google avatar

Keith R.

Yelp
Very good butcher shop, produce stand, leather shop, and coffee shop, among many other stalls. The only downside was that they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
google avatar

Mary C.

Yelp
This is a market of separate stalls with fresh goods, deli items, a poultry and egg market, and a butchery. The meats are produced locally and generally not fed with the typical American animal feed, so when we had our mad cow problems years ago, this market had safe meat. There are toys, doll clothes, a bakery and a furniture store all under one roof. During crowded times, carts can be difficult to come by, so arrive early. The Bird-in-Hand Family Inn is a short stroll from the market which provides a nice alternative to the tired bacon and eggs served at the Inn's breakfast buffet.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
A fairly small indoor market of food and crafts. Wasn't super impressed. I was looking forward to some incredible fresh local produce but there seemed to be only one such vendor and the options didn't stand out too much. However, they did have some great stuff. There was a pickle vendor that had awesome spicy pickles - had to pick up a jar. Also plenty of preserves and salsa and whatever else you can cram in a jar. There was a wildflower honey vendor. Vendors with crafts and gifts. There's a deli where I got a block of awesome horseradish cheddar cheese. Fudge, all sorts of baked goods. Popcorn in various colors. Lots of free samples here! I'd recommend at least checking it out if you are in the area. Some vendors might take credit cards but definitely bring cash.
google avatar

Diana S.

Yelp
Watch out for the closing time (5pm)!! Could probably spend too much time here, between the fresh produce, meats, spices, jams/preserves, baked goods, sweets, and crafts. I didn't even get to see half of the place, nor try the food at the little eatery. I bought some local honey and apple butter from a Vietnamese man (very random) but he had an opinion about many products, and was very friendly (although another lady selling shoofly pies didn't seem that thrilled with me). Also bought some jams, after sampling the delicious tasters. Reasonable prices. Would love to return and shop more. :)

Jill H.

Yelp
Nice place to visit but wish they had more homemade Amish / Menonite products. Felt the gift shop downstairs was to commercial in the products they were selling.
google avatar

Monica B.

Yelp
Have a lot of stuff to offer. They have fresh produce to cute stuff for your porch. It is also a nice visit there. Its not as packed as lancaster central market. Easy parking and clean!

Kelly M.

Yelp
This place does NOT believe in masks. Every worker but one was without mask. Many customers also did not wear masks. If you are being COVID safe, I do not suggest going here.
google avatar

Angel T.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. There are Amish and Mennonite shops in here. You can get: Fresh meats at the butcher, they have beautiful bacon and steaks and beef jerky there is also a cheese shop next to it. A store that has all jarred foods, apple butter and chow chow and other typical Amish things. An absolutely delicious coffee shop which if they franchise they could put Starbucks out of business I had a latte and my mom had a matcha frAppucino they were amazing. There is a popcorn shoppe Some sort of shop that offers all kinds of roasted nuts and seeds and chips. They sell Amish made wood furniture which is stunning and affordable. There are also two or three old fashioned lunch counters I've never actually ate there but I'm sure the food is great, how can it not be. This is all super fresh farm to table foods.

Eric L.

Yelp
I do like this market and was here once before Covid times. Was pleased to see a sign on the front door letting everyone know that masks are mandatory... and then shocked to see that essentially none of the employees working the booths were wearing masks (most with no masks of any kind, and some with the small chin shields which do nothing). The strange thing is that 99% of the customers were. I would recommend waiting until you are vaccinated before visiting here.
google avatar

Leanne M.

Yelp
This place is magical! My most favorite stand is the coffee spot that sells what I like to call "Amish coffee." Its a creamy, sweet, whipped cream and caramel topped concoction that is truly out of this world. The craft/gift shops are affordable and jam packed with local handmade creations from beautiful Lancaster county. Whether you are looking for fresh produce, locally-produced meats, fine cheeses or anything in between you must come check out this market and the incredible views that come with it.

Yelp
I love it here. Farm fresh foods, friendly Mennonite merchants and just great, great produce. Eggs, pies, breads and jams/chow-chow. Bliss!

Yelp
Love the home made soups, fudge, bakery. Everything this is one of my must visits when I come to Lancaster. They have everything you need that I came back after trying to get something somewhere else in the area because I kept thinking it would be better from here!!

Yelp
it was a trip back memory lane for the wife who would go here with the family and she hasn't been back in over 20yrs. even standing on the parking lot brought back a lot of memories and stepping in surely did, and her reaction,...priceless. the fried chicken and the dutch fries at the counter lived to the hype which is all she talked about and couldn't wait to have, along with all the other goodies we tried and brought back. from the best pretzels we've had in a long time that we wished we could get in socal, to the shoe fly pie and fresh made chips.
