Nestled near Dolphin Park, this laid-back hotel offers a quiet vibe and charming views, though it’s not exactly fancy and could use some TLC.

"With more than 400 shipwrecks and its fair share of coral reefs,St. Kittsis a favorite of the scuba set. To try your hand at the hobby, consider staying at Bird Rock Beach Hotel, which houses one of the island’s most popular dive operators. Here, guests can charter a boat to nearby Devil’s Cave and swim among barracuda, lobsters, and nurse sharks, then retire to one of 46 tropical-hued rooms overlooking the sea. Less adventurous travelers can visit the on-site dolphin park, sunbathe on the private beach, or simply sip rum punches from the pool’s swim-up bar. Hotel staff is also happy to arrange off-site activities like catamaran cruises, rainforest treks, and volcano crater tours."

We had the opportunity to stay at Bird Rock in March with my daughter who was there on business. The resort is typical old school Caribbean but very comfortable. When we checked in the staff assisted us with our luggage and showed us to our room. Our room was clean, comfortable, and provided everything we needed, apart from bathroom amenities like shampoo, lotion etc.|The views from our rooms were of the Caribbean Sea and were fantastic with excellent sunsets every night. |The resort was undergoing some needed renovations and additions while we were there, the addition of a beach club and restaurant on the water is something that we really loved. |The staff was awesome and always had a smile for us, they worked very hard and always treated us like family. |The grounds are well kept and full of beautiful plants, there are however some maintenance issues that need to be addressed with the rooms and buildings. In our room and the adjoining room, the sliding glass doors to the balcony needed to be fixed as they were difficult to operate, and the locks did not work. The rooms need to be updated and some attention paid to details like cables that were just hanging out of the wall with no wall plates.|The pool was clean and there were plenty of lounge chairs, also some shade if you wanted to get out of the sun. They were just finishing the new swim up bar which will be a welcome addition to the pool area. |Although the bathrooms functioned properly and we had hot water and good water pressure, they could use an update to the plumbing fixtures. Some new bath towels are needed, bathroom amenities like shampoo and lotion would be a good addition. Beach towels would also be a great addition.|The things that will bring us back to Bird Rock are the staff and the owner Mr. Richards who made our stay so special.

The scenery is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable. You can go swimming with the dolphins right there for a price. The staff is very caring, friendly and helpful. There is one major issue I found, the internet system needs updating. Wifi cuts off too often, drop calls often

I again was able to make it to St. Kitts and stayed at the Bird Rock Beach Hotel. The hotel is still locally owned and operated and feels very much like the Caribbean I have read about. The room I had was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is small but clean and adequate. Both WiFi and the air conditioning worked very well.||I personally enjoyed the pool but especially the beach. I was able to snorkel right from the shore around the rocks that protect the beach and there were tons of fish. I'm not a diver but the diver operation was running after the Covid shutdown.||The restaurant/bar is right on the water and I thought the food was very good. Everything I ate there was cooked to order.||There are no elevators and the hotel rooms are one story up from the beach/restaurant/dive shop. So if you have a mobility problem this is probably not the right place for you.||So my post-Covid review summary is the same as from what I experienced five years ago so I'll repeated it now: "Overall this is not a great choice if you expect a US-style hotel but if you are looking for a friendly, truly Caribbean experience for a reasonable rate this is an excellent choice."

Very nice scenery. Well located. Weirdest experience. No entertainment, no music, no veg food, giant community centre hall but nothing booked or going on, not even a cupboard with board games. When asked if there was entertainment or karaoke they responded as if i was the entertainment going to sing and dance for everyone 🤣🤷‍♀️. This I could be hired to do but no one had a guitar. Nothing to do but beach that might have belonged to another establishment? 🤣🤷‍♀️ currently confused. Room has kitchenette with no bowls, flipper or salt or pepper. No band aids. Staff could be friendlier perhaps BUT still having fun and adjusting. 😊 Guests are super frendly as well as the townfolk. Trying to entertain myself with things I don’t already do at home 🤷‍♀️. Still learning ❤️

This is not a good place to stay, unclean rude and unhelpful staff, lacking the bare basics like towels in the room. Seriously avoid, if you don't care for the pool which is old and dirty (like the rest of the place then avoid this and go somewhere cheaper cleaner and more pleasant. No towels in the room, the place both inside and out looks so run down and old, the bed sheets were unclean. The staff at front desk couldn't help with anything and were so rude and unkind.|The complex seems to be shared with a school/church so when by the pool we had sermons being shared out loud and kids watching the pool, constantly going past, it was so weird. |This is one of the worst places I've stayed. AVOID

I wish I can give this place 0 stars. I went there end of the year cause my friend was staying in that area (bird rock), and the hotel seemed to be closest to her. When I arrived, I had to wait outside for 30 mins cause no one was there to check me in. The office lights were off. When I got to my room, the it wasn’t as described in the pictures. The curtains were torn and old, bathroom wasn’t the best condition, my sliding door couldn’t close properly, and on top of that NO HOT WATER. After my second night I complained about the hot water, and I was offered a different. When I moved to the other room, there still wasn’t hot water, and to add insult to injury, my door knob came out when I returned from the party. I text the property and the lock could get fixed until after 9AM. It was such a horrible experience. At that point, I cancelled the second half of my reservation and booked a different hotel. The next morning I saw the owner Mr. richards, I approached him and he said he doesn’t know how all these issues are happening, and he doesn’t want to hear anything more from me. He was very rude and unwilling to help my issues. He said, I’ll be going somewhere else anyways. The lock was fixed and i was leaving the next day, I asked them to fix the hot water and no response. The manager wasn’t any help neither. I requested a refund cause of the horrible experience, the manager lied and said that they moved me to another room. Thankfully I have screenshots of messages cause we communicated via text on WhatsApp. ||The only GOOD thing at that hotel were the two women that worked at the restaurant Brighteye and Alexis. They made my breakfast good, they were very kind to me. They tried their best to make me feel better, but it’s only so much they could’ve done. I appreciate those women very much. Outside of them, it was a nightmare and the worst hotel I ever stayed at.

Very unsafe. Went into pool slipped got a concussion landed at hospital overnight. They never checked up on me. My husband had to go to them so he could get a letter written up about the accident for OUR insurance company. Felt they did not care. The restaurant had little to be desired. They were out of alot of the items. Would not reccomend this place to nobody. The photos are not what it looks like.

Stayed here for 2 nights waiting for our cruise ship which we missed due to snow storm. Arrived at 11pm and heard noises in back finding out in morning watching dolphins playing outside our room . Hotel at Dolphin Park which was cool. Inexpensive to stay but eat out at places . Need car if staying there to get about island . Like living in the 50’s , not fancy but fun !
