Birdie Food & Coffee

The coffee was good and the food was nice, but the value for money just wasn’t there. Extremely expensive for the quantity and quality, especially considering the rather remote location. The place wasn’t particularly clean either. On the positive side, it’s dog-friendly and the staff were friendly, but overall the high prices overshadowed the experience.

The breakfast here is out of this world and rivals some of the best 5 star hotels in the world (looking at you Belmond, splendido). The eggs and toast is to die for. The cafe itself isn't the most comfy. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Nice little coffee bar ☕️ with s small terrace on yhe street side. Good coffee, very friendly service with OK prices. It's definitely worth the stop passing by. We'll be back 😀

Very good coffee! I am someone who always puts splenda or sweetener in my coffee but my cappuccino did not need any of it. Was impressed! My friend raved about her iced americano. As someone who loves a traditional avocado toast, the one was a little too much for me. Wasn't a huge fan of the seasonings and hazelnuts. Cinnamon cake and banana bread were both solid.

The food is tasty, the coffee is good, and I love their grilled cheese.

Super cute and cozy coffee shop and Geneva. The food is delicious and they service an amazing iced americano. I stayed there for quite some time and I had the best time. I will definitely recommend this place if you want to have a relaxed and chilled time in Geneva.

My family and I visited Birdie Café 😍 for the first time during our trip to Geneva, and we ended up coming twice because it was that 🤩. As a Saudi 🇸🇦visiting for the first time, I was truly impressed — the coffee is the best we’ve had in Geneva, and the service was outstanding. The team is friendly, and welcoming, and a special thank you to the barista for the great biscoff latte 🤍 and amazing coffee and hospitality🤍. We’ll definitely be coming back, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

Barista Lambert served the best flat white I’ve had in Geneva, made with pea milk (a great substitute for my usual soy). The café has a warm, inviting ambiance and captures the essence of Australian brunch culture, especially with the delicious avocado toast.

Decided to check out Birdie as it was recommend by Monocle and I'm also a sucker for all things bird related (even if it's just the logo). It's located a short walk from the Patek Philippe Museum. It's a really small place, with just a few high top bar seating inside and some sidewalk tables outside. Service was friendly and quick. I got the Birdie Brekkie with an iced ginger tea. Everything was a bit pricey for the portions but was delicious nonetheless.

This spot was recommended for Brunch so we got here around 11:30 on Sunday. We thought they were sold out as we entered on the takeaway side and all of the tables were occupied. A couple of steps over is the cozy Dine-in section. We got here at the perfect time as we got the last couple of window seats before a wait started. For drinks, it was Cappuccino with Oat Milk and Aeropress Coffee. (Medium ground coffee, shorter brew-Worth trying and not bad). For main, I think we ordered two of the most popular dishes. Birdie Brekkie-Avocado Toast topped with extras of Lox Salmon and Poached Egg. Delicious and the Tahini/Lemon dressing and Apricot Hummus took it over the top! Green Shakshouka- complex flavors wrapped around the eggs with the Harissa butter giving it just the right spicy kick. Side of roasted potatoes were pure comfort. Service was friendly and engaging both at reception and our server who took great care of us. Lives up to the the Brunch hype!

The food was fresh and delicious. Best brunch in Geneva, and the owner was attentive and welcoming.I had a dish called Oui Monsieur and it was perfect. And a homemade iced tea with ginger and lemon which was very refreshing. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Wonderful coffee and breakfast spot in the Plainpalais section of Geneva. The coffee was top notch, I had a cortado which was smooth as butter. The combination the fresh squeezed Carrot, Apple, Orange and Ginger juice really hit the spot and the Ouefs Parfaits was out of this world. The service was also 5 stars. Love this place.

I walked a mile two days in a row just to have breakfast here. The service and croque monster were both excellent. I also enjoyed the lemon thyme water.

The entire waitstaff was amazing as was the food. This quaint establishment was a perfect place for our family to enjoy a wonderful brunch.

The food was good, but the yelp page was a little misleading. My service was slow, so I didn't get to load the entire thing I only saw that it had one $ & it was listed as brunch/breakfast. It's a small coffee shop that serves coffee & food--it is split up into two different spaces. I sat on the side where the main coffee shop is located, I didn't see the other side until after I left. The service was great, the ladies were friendly, one spoke English & they made our cappuccinos very pretty. As for the food, I really enjoyed it, but it also cost me 19.90CHF (Francs). Hella expensive. My best friend got the granola with fresh fruit & yogurt--also delicious but expensive 9.50CHF. Not really feeling the prices, but the food & coffee quality is great for being such a small cafe.

Best breakfast I had in Geneva after trying other places for several days. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is delicious. The juices are fresh and well made, as is the coffee - try the cortada. I also highly recommend the side of potatoes with any of the meals. Planning to go there as often as I can even though it's a 30 minute walk for me.

Cute cafe with really nice vibe. I came here with a couple friends on two separate occasions. Once for lunch and the other for a coffee break. There are seats against the window and a few two top (possibly three top) tables inside. On my lunch date, I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich (came with a salad and was about 16 francs) and a flat white coffee (5.50 francs). The sandwich could use more ham but was warm and toasty so still good. Also I liked the pairing with the salad. It created a good balance on the plate. My friend ordered the yogurt bowl which came out so beautifully presented with honey, granola, and fruit. On the coffee break I ordered a ginger iced tea and the lemon/speculoos cheesecake. The cheesecake was super creamy and really good! Both times, the cafe has a very comfortable vibe and it makes it easy to stay there for a while. Also bathroom available! Expected prices for Switzerland and located near other museum/sights. Recommended!!

Amazing brunch place in Geneva! I ordered the avocado toast with smoked salmon and poached egg (to fill my "basic" needs). It was about 19CHFs but worth the price because it came with a small salad and 2 extra pieces of toast. My friend ordered the Oui Monsieur (ham, mascarpone cheese + Gruyere cheese sandwich) and said it legit tasted like a heavenly mac and cheese + ham sandwich. Topped it off with a iced latte (6.50 CHFs aka a bit over my price range but worth it). Food and drinks were overall amazing. The place was a bit small, but we got lucky and grabbed some seats right away! Service could have been a bit better but definitely worth the visit. 10/10 probably the best brunch place I've been to in Geneva.

This is a great place to stop by on a Sunday, as some places tend to close in Geneva. There is limited outdoor seating and a few tables and a bar in the take away section. Staff are welcoming and attentive in bringing orders and clearing tables. The cafe requests that no laptops be used, and credit card minimum is 6 CHF. I ordered a cappuccino and a carrot cake and both were amazing! The coffee is rich and not bitter and the carrot cake is light and fluffy while still being moist. Definitely on my list as one of the cafes to stop by in Geneva!

I had the birdie brekkie a few weeks ago and it was awesome. Very nicely cooked eggs, flavorful toast and even a small bite of sweet to end the meal. This is a really good spot for a quick breakfast

After wandering around parts of the old city, my wife decided upon Birdie as the place where we should have our first bites in Geneva. When we got here just after noon on a Wednesday, there were plenty of folks sitting inside the main entrance as well as at a few tables set up outside alongside the cafe (the extra dining room remained empty until we were about to leave) - so it's a popular haunt for folks, particularly for visitors (we overheard a number of patrons speaking English). The vibe would probably be described as hipster and perfectly fitting into Brooklyn for this NYC resident, but it also had a bit of the old European charm that is hard to import over as well. The servers at the front were both friendly and spoke English pretty well; perhaps the only thing that I wish had been made clear was being able to pay sooner (you just need to go up to the bar and say you'll pay - the sitdown service is not really the full restaurant-style experience from a service standpoint). If you haven't been to Switzerland before, be prepared for a little sticker shock! That said, even though it was nearly 6 francs, the fresh-squeezed OJ is better than many places I have been, with the density of the juice somehow being quite a bit thicker - but having a creamy, smooth texture as well. My wife's iced chocolate was pretty good, and I appreciated that they did not oversugar it and simply let the chocolate stand as it was. For our mains, my wife's 'Oui Monsieur' (a play on the traditional French sandwich) was excellent...it was basically a gruyere-based grilled cheese sandwich with a little bit of ham in it and was phenomenal without being overly buttered up. The 'Birdie Brekkie' is a mashup of avocado toast with smoked salmon from Norway, topped with a poached egg. I think even the avocados are potentially fresher / better here in Europe (my general take is fruits and veggies, on balance, or better in the EU), and the salmon was really good as well. The combination together worked perfectly, with nothing being drowned out despite having the toast having a lot on it. The side salads for both of our dishes had a light mustard-based dressing that was a nice, light complement to our heavier mains. This was very enjoyable, and even if the food wasn't traditionally Swiss, this is a cafe that I would enjoy visiting anywhere in the world. Next time I am back in Geneva (whenever that ends up being), I will probably swing by here for another jetlagged brunch!

Cozy and welcoming atmosphere of this coffee shop is a nice break from the commercial shopping districts of Geneva. Catch Locals and tourists stopping in for barista crafted cafe drinks and ingredient-focused food options. Right across from a fire house, the location is central to downtown markets and shops. You won't want to let this Birdie fly away

We had the iced chocolate and iced coffee. Followed by the croc monsieur and big breakfast. The big breakfast was avocado mash and salmon. All done in artisan style. With tasty dressings. For forty Swiss francs. The pricing was quite expensive and the service was slow however the food was honestly the best croc Monsieur I ever had and the salmon mash was also fairly good. But was it worth forty Swiss francs, no way.

Excellent coffee, got a Cappuccino and a French pressed both excellent. We got after that the "Birdie Brekkie" a toast with avocado, salmon and a poached egg with a fresh salad with a soft dressing. Don't hesitate anymore! Go for it! Service is excellent, friendly and lovely!

I needed to find a place for weekday brunch for two, and Birdie fit the description. We arrived around 11:30 and there was plenty of seating. We were kindly greeted, chose a small table outside, and ordered two Birdie Brekkies (one with bacon) and a Chemex of coffee. Everything was delicious, and the service was perfectly friendly. I would absolutely return to Birdie -- especially on a weekday, as it seems like a great place to do some work in a quite space with great coffee.

Fantastic coffee, priced on par with Geneva prices (i.e. it is not cheap by USD standards). 5.50 CHF for a press (but you get like 2.5 cups out of it, so the value is there) and 4 CHF for an espresso, which trends with upscale coffee shops in the states. Birdie Brekkie is amazing! It is both a full meal, but light at the same time. Great option for a brunch type of meal. The staff were very nice! The atmosphere is small, but charming. Clean establishment, with good decor and ambiance. I highly recommend it for a place to sip coffee or enjoy a meal!

Ugh wow loved this place. Got an iced latte which was really great and served in a cute jar. I also heard they had great hot chocolate so I'll have to try that before I leave. But my boyfriend and I split the birdie brekkie which was amazinggg! Poached egg in toast with guac and we got bacon on it instead of smoked salmon. It also came with coffee butter and cheese for your toast and and both were so so good! I'd come back and get the same thing over again

Wonderful find- especially with the fantastic coffee and beautiful brekkie I ordered! The bread had a great crunch with smooth avocado purée layered with smoked salmon and a poached egg. With a clean, friendly, hipster vibe in such a Historic and bustling city...felt like home!

Delicious brunch this Sunday morning. Very quaint and cozy. Antonio was very kind and accommodating to speak English with us. Coffee to cake and poached eggs on smoked salmon, everything was delicious.

Very refreshing to find somewhere in Switzerland where they serve a flat white. This was the first place I had come across that did so and it was great. Excellent balance of coffee and milk and the beans had a nice aroma. I recommend if you're in Geneva.

Tasty brunch place with healthy and wholesome food. I ordered the Birdie Brekkie (avocado toast with lox and a poached egg) and my friend decided on the Oui Monsieur. The service was friendly but slightly off; the restaurant was crowded and we were seated at the only table in the back of the restaurant, all the other patrons were up front. It was a bit uncomfortable and we weren't able to move once some other customers had left, which I found strange. Otherwise, everything was great. The restaurant was bright and airy and the food was fresh and delicious. Expensive, definitely, I paid nearly $30 (USD) for my toast and coffee, though I believe this is on par with Swiss prices.

Have been there a couple of times before expansion and during weekdays. Coffee always very good and so were the cakes. Came back last Sunday afternoon to find a very nice and bigger place. Service was disastrous though. Waited for almost 10 minutes to have the menu. Asked if we could order directly at the counter, the kind lady said no. When the cappuccino finally came, after another 20min, it was cold and flat, a sign that it had been waiting at the counter top for too long. Not to mention a second order of drinks and cake that was totally forgotten .... When we tried to get it directly from the counter, the barista, who was happily chatting in the kitchen with two other people, came, picked up orders from 3 other tables which were piling up and said she was "too busy". Not up to the their own initial standards...

Friendly service but very long wait time for food! Plus, paying close to €20 for an avocado toast with egg seems kinda ridiculous but I guess that's Switzerland.

Really enjoyed lunch here. I had the croque monsieur with an iced latte and both were great. Fun, nice staff with cool decorations. Located in a great part of town with some fun stores, and the large market a few blocks away.

If there is a better, Melbourne-feel cafe in Geneva, I haven't found it yet. Great coffee (in a city obsessed with coffee capsules this is a rarity), concise, small menu yet executed perfectly. Yes, I am a fan and a repeat customer.

This is an adorable (to me, Aussie style) cafe in Geneva. The food and coffee are delicious - not cheap, but nothing in Geneva is. Service was really warm. I would highly recommend this cafe.

I definitely recommend the Birdie Brekke (19.90 CHF) and hot chocolate (6 CHF). Went in hungry, came and happy and full. Very tasty. Open 10-18 on Sunday. Short walk from the #15 Plainpalais tram stop with a fun little farmers market near the stop.

After 30+ hours in a plane to Geneva from Australia, I was in a mission to find a good coffee and yummy food. And Birdie fit the bill really well. It is quite small but I arrived about 10 minutes after opening time so had no trouble getting a table. The expresso is not the usual short black you get in Australia or Italy - more like a double shot but it hit the mark. Clearly there is good coffee and barista. Ordered the Oui Monsieur which was an indulgence - most enjoyable. I will be back!

Birdie is trendy and tucked away from most tourists, but as a visitor it was great! When I tried to order the waiter said the kitchen closed at 2:30, but the chef came to me and said he could make me whatever I wanted!! Beyond excellent food (I had the Birdie Brekkie) and the service is so kind!! Also most people have rated the great coffee but I had the housemade iced tea and it was great

Love this place - reminds me of New York - but better! Birdie Brekkie is clearly the way to go - an absolute must order.

Wow. I walked over 30 minutes to get to this place, and it was well worth it. The environment is lovely, with clean white tile and green wood to accent. But that wasn't the best part - the food is incredible! I had the avocado toast, switching out the salmon for bacon, and was more than delighted when I received my meal. It 100% exceeded my expectations, accompanied with a yummy salad (I'd love the dressing recipe), a seasoned & poached egg, as well as fresh bread & jam. The espresso I ordered also had a hint of lemon - the right way to do coffee! If I lived in Geneva I would return to this spot every week. Highly recommend.

Great little spot and they just expanded a little. Smaller food menu but believe it's a coffee shop first and food second. Everything we ordered was delicious though. BLT wrap was nice and light but also filling. Prob one of the best I have had. They also serve breakfast all day I think so that was a plus. Also got a birdie brekky I think it was called. Also quite good and filling. The hot chocolate was also delicious and came served fancy like a cappuccino. Def recommend this place. Going back tomorrow to try the other stuff ;)
