Friendly staff. Birds seem well-kept. As I was walking around, one of the birds and I kinda bonded, and he kept putting his feet onto my hands. It was so sweet. Wish I could have adopted him. 🥰

I absolutely love this place 🥰. My Buddy Boy a 27 yrs old Senegal Parrot gets a full royal spa treatment when I bring him here, yes he gets mad at me but you have to take care of your bird too❤️. I enjoy spending time with the rescue birds and chat with them as the cat and I walk around visiting with them. Kitty wants a little love too and I’m happy to give it lots of love as well 😍.

I went to research a place to buy a budgie for my daughter. We have done tons of research. Birds and More had great reviews so I went to check it out. This place was exactly what we were told to avoid. The cages were dirty. There were so many birds that were losing feathers or fluffed up and looking sick at the bottom of the cages. It was a really sad experience. Staff were super friendly, however the staff pulled out a 4 month budgie to show me they were easy to handle. He just grabbed it forcibly. He also said I need to force the budgie out of the cage or it will always choose to stay in the cage. It went against everything I have researched. I would not recommend this place if you want ethical breeders who are knowledgeable about the latest research.

Very helpful group of staff. Everytime I go there. Someone is constantly working on keeping the cages clean and feeding the birds proper fold like vegetables, fruits etc. They also do lots of bird sitting and keep the cages clean.

Great advice via Email! Update: Great experience in the store a month later. The staff's knowledge was extraordinary: patient to understand my endless questions and thorough in response. My babies didn't hesitate to explore their new perch, seed, or diet within hours of exposure. I can't wait to buy seed next month, because I'll have an excuse to say hello to the rescue birds! I'm so lucky to be within driving distance of this store!

I just wanna say how grateful I am for this place! I bought my baby budgie from this wonderful place about 5 years ago and he is my baby! I absolutely adore him. He says so many phrases and words and sings all the time. He is a very happy birdie! Since I bought him as a baby and he was hand fed, he isn’t afraid of people at all. He lets me hand feed him easily. I plan on coming back for another birdie soon. Very soon!

Over approximately 4 years, I have boarded my bird here when I've gone on vacation, and they've always taken good care of him. They also do a great job trimming his nails and beak. Furthermore, and most importantly, when there has been an issue (such as an injury due to a "night fright"), they responded with appropriate medical care.

Love for all birds and the cleanliness and care for our domesticated feather babies is amazing. Thank you for all the love and kindness.

As for boarding your pet birds, they are great. Great selection of birds to purchase as well as supplies. However, I don't have my bird groomed there for personal reasons. Prices for birds are very reasonable.

Their birds are happy and healthy I got my birds from here and they're mating which is very exciting. I'm coming in today to get a nesting box so I don't have to use my other one because the other ones broken but I really like these birds.

Visited on 06/23/22 for the very first time with my significant other. We are huge birdie fans and lovers - so why not stop by Birds and More. You would have to ring/buzz the doorbell outside in order for them to let you in. Upon entering, this place is extremely noisy. So many bird species! Birdies selling from $149 to $5000 - this place has it all! There was a friendly gentleman who was asking us questions and helping. We weren't planning to purchase a birdie but just wanted to check them out. Birds and More also rescue birdies and these rescues are NOT for sale - they are located on the far left once you come into the store. I'm glad this place truly cares about birdies and brings light to the city of LAWNDALE! Overall 5/5 - if we want to get a birdie in the future then this will be our go-to place. :)

Birds N More has everything needed for birds of all types. always giving expert advice about raising a bird pet. Took my parrot Sweetpea to get her nails and beak trimmed. this was my first time at this business what a wonderful experience extremely knowledgeable very kind explained what the grooming process was definitely my go to place for sweet pea.I highly recommend birds and more for grooming food whatever your needs may be for your parrot.

We brought our bird iCloud for grooming. They trimmed his beak and nails. He looks much better now! Both birds are a little overweight so they gave good diet tips.

This is a shout out to one of my all time favorite business!!! Today, my Mealy Amazon, George, managed to break off a flight feather, rather high up, and it was sharp, and painfully digging into his side. I called Justin, and even though he'd already closed the shop up for the day, he drove back to the store, to help my feathered friend in distress! Thank you Karen, Justin, Rosie, and Junior!!

We went to look for a feathered friend for our little budgie and came out with a new family member, Baby Blu! The staff there John and Justin were very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of tips! Justin gave us more detail information for our adoption! Our little birds are adopting well with one another and to see such love brings joy into my life. My little spirit feathered l friends ! I bought my very 1st Parakeet. I must say Justin was very helpful and very knowledgeable in every question in had. Customer Service was excellent. He was Multitasking making sure all customers where helped. He groomed Blue before coming home. I will definitely be coming back

long story short, we have a Goffin Cockatoo going on 34 years of age. we have never taken her anywhere else but Birds and More for grooming, simply because they are the best. We travel a lot so we also have leaned on them for Boarding too......for all her life so far. When we pick her up after 1,2 and on occasion when moving, 8 weeks, she looks great....well fed...well groomed. The team and Karen, owner there are knowledgeable, caring and you will find no other place as good...period.

I am writing this reveiw for my mother Laverne. She has beed so pleased with the care and expertise her and her African Gray Parrot "Max" have received from Birds and More. Drove all the way from San Diegp to purchase two parakeets on 2 occasions because their selection and quality was much better than what was available locally. They were helpful and knowledgeable and it was worth the trips. Their parakeets were hand fed and quite tame.

I bought my first baby cockatiel from Karen Allen "The Bird Lady" almost 30 years ago. He passed 3 years not to health issues but an elderly accidentally falling on him :( Birds and More are the best local avian store around. Justin takes care of anything i need. From ordering custom cut perches, baby formula, pellets my birds want; you name it Justin can do it for you and your feather baby! Not to fail mentioning they do an amazing job grooming your baby. Grooming, Boarding, Great bird advice: We love this place to take our senior citizen bird Burrito for beak trimming and pampering. My husband got his Red Loren Amazon when he was about 12 years old working in a pet store. He was abandoned by children of an elderly woman who had passed away. He then became a member of my husband's family for about 25 years and came to our family probably about 5 years ago. This bird has finally found his happy place with us and we have found it with it. The person who spoke of the birds who have plucked their feathers is referring to the rescue birds that owner Karen is helping (I believe with her own money). Karen is quirky, and we love her. The rest of the staff is great and knowledgeable. We know our very well loved old bird is in good hands when we leave him here and go on vacation. Thank you, Karen!!!

I want to give a big shout-out to Justin who always takes care of me and Smokey. Saturday he broke my bird broke his little leg and I was freaking out not knowing what to do so I called the bird store and Justin answered and I took him up there and it was broke he sent me to Long Beach Animal Hospital after much searching his self he called everybody he knew to find somebody in the area that can help me if you've never been in here I'm telling you you need to go. Justin is also well-known as a groomer up in there he will groom your bird's wings Bill toes and give him a bath they're excellent up there thank you Justin for everything you have ever done for me and Smokey

We have been avid fans, of Birds And More, for 30 years. The ownership, and entire, staff are knowledgeable and responsive. We have obtained birds there, supplies, and they groom all our birds monthly. We moved a few years back, but drove the extra distance, to have all our needs addressed.

If you're looking for caring, skilled professionals to groom and/or care for (board) your precious pet bird while you're on vacation, this is the place. Karen and her staff are exceptional. I highly recommend Birds & More.

I did a LOT of research before buying my lovebird: I wanted to go somewhere where the birds were hand-fed, raised well, definitely healthy, treated decently, and the staff was knowledgeable. Birds and More fit all of these categories. Karen, who runs the place and has a gigantic heart for both birds and people, is a a Certified Avian Specialist (CAS) of the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, and can answer any question you might have. The staff aren't just Petco staff (i.e. can't answer questions, can stock shelves), they know stuff about their birds and can give you good advice. Their website is VERY comprehensive and has a lot to offer both bird buyers and seasoned bird owners. The store has many breeds of birds as well as food, toys, cage stuff, etc. All birds come with a certificate for a free vet checkup at the store's preferred vet. If I buy another bird, I will DEFINITELY get it at Birds and More. ADDITION: Turns out Karen is realllllllly right wing (no pun intended). She told me religion needs to be back in schools and government. I kinda stood there going, er. For you lefties, you may or may not want to support this business; regardless of political affiliation, I still think that they know their stuff and trust their opinion and buying birds there.

I've been going to Birds & More for the past 12 years for their grooming and boarding services for my two parrots (a Timneh Grey named Muffy and my Brown-headed parrot, Pepper) I bought them 12 years ago from this shop. Karen and staff are the most reliable, honest and truly bird-loving people in the world. Their expertise on the characteristics, habits, and care of my birds are second to none and on par with the bird vet (not to mention Karen's hilarious episodes with the birds that have come and gone in her life). If you are interested in finding a companion bird that is healthy and well cared for, this is the best place to find that companion. Kathy T.

This place is fabulous! I got my first ever 4 month old Pied Cockatiel! The staff are very patient and informative! Always ready for my endless questions! They hand raise their baby birds which cause them to be slightly pricier than other places! However the price is very much worth it! The whole hand raising process allowed me to bond with my cockatiel so sweetly! My cockatiel loves to cuddle, play, super healthy! He follows me like a puppy! Absolutely well tempered! Justin groomed my cockatiel for the first time! He made it quick, safe and efficient! No bleeding whatsoever when he filed my parrot's nails and beak. I asked him not to clip my bird's wings and I'm so glad he followed through, unlike other places! I am so glad I found this place!

This place is absolutely amazing. We just got a parrotlet a few months ago and she needed her first wing clipping since we got her. We researched tons of places and Birds and more stood out among all the other places in town. While the man (I forget his name and I apologize) was clipping her wings, he also gave us training/taming/bonding tips while casually getting her to step up for him which she doesn't do for us! It was a great experience and we'll be going back every few months for her wing clips. I can't speak highly enough of this place. They've got lifelong customers in us.

This is a scary, traumatizing place for birds, where do I begin? 1.) Sales associate isn't knowledgeable about the basics of birds or bird keeping. 2.) The birds in the store are kept cramped and confined in small cages. There isn't any appearance of human interaction - the birds aren't well socialized, how will they make good pets? 3.) The Rescued Bird Section was the worst part. Majestic macaws plucked to all holy hell. The one that broke my heart was hanging upside down from the corner of the cage, twitching back and forth w/o any feathers. The sales associate said they aren't allowed to interact w/ customers and keeping them like this was the best thing for them. It's time these "old-school" pet trades get legit and start being responsible! Don't shop or board your birds here until they do clean up their business model and start taking care for the overall health and well-being of the birds in their care.

My family and I love this shop! We were driving by, and my son wanted to stop. I'm glad we did! We purchased a baby cockatiel! I had no intention of adding to our family, but the staff was so patient and knowledgeable. My son kept asking questions and they took the time to answer them all! We were able to get everything we needed to take our baby home! Thank you Birds and More!

This place is awesome! Dropped my parrot off at the bird motel for an extended weekend, and got him groomed up in his stay at the bird spa! Couldn't have left him in better hands. He can't hurt me with his beak or nails anymore! And he didn't stink up the car in the drive home!

Very helpful staff and we love the Cockatiel we got 2 weeks ago! We also stopped back in for advice when he broke a feather being a goof and they helped us with it and some grooming as well, quick and easy.

Worth the wait !! , my wife wanted a cockatiel, looked around , ended up at birds and more , very thankful for the hands on service but most of all the quality of the pet we received . This is the most tame and friendly bird ever imo , 2nd to none in quality , thank you Justin for providing us with a great bird " off season " , it's a joy to do business with a home grown family owned place .

What a great Bird store. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I got some good advise from Justin about my little parrotlett's squaking attitude. I'm going to take his advise with my fingers crossed that the things I try help. He just had the best grooming ever in his 11 years. I've had him since he was 5 months old. Wings, beak and nails were done and he even gave him a bath and dried him with a dryer. Wow, what a spa day for him. Thank you Justin and a shout out to Jr. who told me about the store when I called.

This is an awesome place to take your birds for grooming, and care. I learned so much from Justin during our visit that I feel much better in caring for my bird. They are SUPER helpful. I've inherited a Amazon Red Lord parrot that I have no clue how to care for. Justin was patient with all my questions, had answers for every single one. Gave me insight into all the behavior issues & suggestions on how to remedy them. Plus, they sell perches for $250.00, with wheels on them!!! Awesome. They carry a large variety of cages too I highly recommend this place for all your bird needs big & small!

We are SO happy to find this place!! We brought our recently inherited African grey for a trim and groom. Justin was so amazing and very knowledgeable. He answered every stupid question we could think of. We left there with MUCH more info than when we took her to the vet. Totally recommend coming here!

Kelsey M., I am in complete agreement with you. It's upsetting how stressed out, unhealthy (mentally/physically), and unloved many of her birds are. I was also disappointed in her dishonesty/misinformation about the disposition and needs of a bird she tried to sell me. I returned only once to have my parrot boarded. The staff was UNBELIEVABLY rude (young latino boy and latino woman). When I came to pick up the bird, they charged me for grooming the bird which I specifically told them I DID NOT WANT. The young boy became very angry because he thought I was a liar, and threw his fists on the counter. He didn't speak to me the rest of the transaction. As I walked out of the store, he said very nastily, "You need to get here a lot earlier to pick up your bird next time." Yeah, well, there will be no next time. I'm glad others have had positive experiences, but mine, like yours, were negative ones.

I've been going to Birds & More for years even before they moved to the Cabrillo location. Just like Debbie E. I too get my bird groomed here ($26 full grooming - beak, feathers & toes) and board my bird here ($8/day if I recall) when I'm out of town for vacations. When you board your little one, make sure you bring toys or any treats you're pet likes. Birds & More uses their own cage for boarding your little avian and separate these birds from the rest of the store so they won't be mistaken as the ones for sale or owned by Karen. I know Kelsey M. had a disappointing experience seeing several birds looking distressed. Most of these parrots have a feather picking problem or they are abandoned from their former owners and Karen "the bird lady" (owner of Birds & More) has adopted these poor babies and they are kept at her store. Karen and her staff take good care of the birds and this place has won several times for being the #1 in the South Bay from our local paper - The Daily Breeze. If you ever need referrals for veterinarians who specialize in avians, she is there to let you know. From feather picking problems to food, she knows it all for these guys. Overall, I'm here at least once a month for the grooming.

After bringing my parrot with me from the East Coast, I needed a place that understood exotic birds. Birds & More is that place. I buy my supplies from there, get my bird groomed there, and most importantly, board my bird while I am out of town for extended periods of time. The boarding birds (called "Birdy Daycare" which I don't understand the day care since they are there day and night) are kept separate from the rest of the store's birds and that area is not open to the public to walk through so your bird is safe. Reservations are needed for boarding. The staff is extremely knowledgeable on exotic birds. The hours are not as friendly for those working-folk, but I guess that they need a life outside of birds, too.

I am really on the fence about this place... I have had my lovebirds groomed a few times by Karen over the years... ever since this place was located in Torrance. When you walk in you are greeted by cage after cage of different kinds of birds and I agree, several do look unhealthy and distressed. Now I have worked in the veterinary field most of my working life. I can't say for certain these birds are distressed due to their care or perhaps they have been rescued and are being rehabilitated. I have asked but don't get a clear answer from the staff. There is a separate "quiet" room where there are birds boarding. Now Karen is as knowledgeable as one can be as a groomer... birds are definitely her specialty. However, she is not a doctor. She tends to give a little too much medical advice and I am always weary of ingesting information for my animals from someone who is not a veterinarian, but again... she is knowledgeable. One of my lovebirds recently passed and brought in my remaining one for a beak and nail trim, and wing clipping. She proceeded to lecture me because he isn't tame and I try to tell her the reason (brief: my lovebird that just passed had another life partner who abruptly died and she became depressed... I was looking for a good couple of months for a new partner when this little guy literally flew on top of her cage and basically refused to leave... They've been inseparable ever since and preferred each others company for years). Anyways, she basically told me I wasn't providing for him like I should (hello! I'm at a groomer for birds, he gets the best I can afford and is vetted). I told her he prefers to be with a bird and is happy watching us and the other animals from the top of his cage. She just didn't seem to care and seemed to really try to make me feel guilty (which I do not). She is a really good groomer so I gave 2 stars. I gave -1 star for the lecturing, -1 star for the lack of customer service and -1 star the condition of the shop.

I am so happy that I came back to this pet shop and purchased another parrot! After doing a lot of research I decided that I wanted a Senegal parrot because of the very low noise level and chill energy, they didn't have it at first but Justin told me he would call if they ever do. He finally called after a couple months but didn't exactly have what I originally wanted a baby Senegal, they got a 4 year old that someone relinquished to them. At first I was very hesitant to even meet the bird because of the age as I didn't want to get attached.. BUT I'm so happy that I took a chance and purchased him. He is the best parrot I've ever owned, he is very quiet, extremely tame and gets very excited to see me and spends alot of time outside of his cage. When I first got him he favored men maybe due to his past experiences with not so nice ladies.. But now he trusts me fully and is very bonded with me. Thank you again for such great pets!

We love our parrot so much, he's a part of our family. We've brought Kankan (our red head lorei) to birds and more for years now, we followed them wherever they go. He's a rebel with anyone that's not immediate family but Karen always knows how to handle him and he gets groomed nicely. I love to go to the store and see all the beautiful parrots and birds, we've always grown up having parrots. Awesome place and people.

I took my birds in to get groomed for the first time and it was an amazing experience . Justin handled the birds like a pro and he gave us so much knowledge. Will definitely be a long time customer!! Thank you birds and more !!

Just picked up our two 2.5 year old conures from a short boarding trip at Birds and more. They were well cared for, safe and given tons of fresh food veggies and water. They really love birds here, couldn't be happier!

Driving by and saw this place and made a U turn to check out the canary food. Place was really loud with a lot of birds. I'm no expert so I'm not going to say weather they were happy or not. Canary food was reasonable, $6 for about a 1lb. bag. Birds toys were really dusty. I didn't buy anything only cause I really didn't find what I needed. Seems like a good neighborhood place.
