"The Beijing National Stadium, dubbed Bird’s Nest for its beautiful steel, nest-like design, was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The arena where the opening ceremony of the games that left the world slack-jawed took place has since become an emblematic architectural piece in the Chinese capital and a huge tourist attraction. Located in the Olympic Green, very close to the Water Cube, the stadium is enormous — it can seat 91,000 spectators and houses a four-star hotel with 80 rooms. Such a grandiose structure came at an eye-popping $480 million and is rumored to cost $11 million to maintain yearly. Bird’s Nest is staggering in daylight, but it’s when the sun has set that the iconic stadium is at its most impressive." - MATADOR_NETWORK

One of my wife's favorite boutiques. Located in Montgomery Village, she stops by to look around whenever we are in this part of Santa Rosa. Accessories, clothing, jewelry, furniture and much more, in a very inviting home like setting. Looking for a gift 🎁 for the wife, this is the place.

My very fave place for nifty things :)

I just love this shop! They have beautiful things at very low prices, and although it's a consignment shop, everything looks brand new! I always score something wonderful that I really need and today was no exception! Absolutely gorgeous tunic top (deep scarlet - my fave color!) And a loose, long, gypsy skirt for casual fun! And the store is beautifully maintained as well. If it weren't for my mask bothering me a lot, I would have stayed to peruse the aisles further! The owner/manager is so friendly and such a good salesperson - no pressure, just good suggestions if you need them.

Google
Love this store. Always something unique to discover. The ever changing displays and merchandise keep me coming back to see what's new.

Bird's Nest is the cutest little hidden gem, tucked away in Montgomery Village. They are pet friendly and leave water out front for the pups along with a cute little garden table & chairs. They have an assortment of items from jewelry, clothing, and some household décor.

Google
This is one of my top 10 places to go shopping. The staff are super friendly and they have really high quality items.

Google
What a beautiful boutique! I stopped in after having lunch with a friend. While walking in it just had a warm cozy feeling. The temperature was just right. The store was very well organized with beautiful displays, that I had to pull myself away from.I will definitely stop in again next time im in the area.

Google
Found lovely peach colored, summer shift dress and crystal necklace for my DIL. Loved the shop. Came back next day and let my daughter pick out some items she liked. Ended up with 2 candlestick holders with very beautiful flower themed ceramic colored flowers in muted tones, and a very pretty, silky nighty with lace shoulder straps to stay cooler, while sleeping for hot, summer nights. Great prices! Gifts for all the ladies in the family can be found here. Nice owner and staff. Must shop to stop store!

Yelp
First, this shop is FIRST CLASS! Beautiful vintage items--jewelry, furniture, clothing. All of it beautifully displayed. JOY is the word to describe the feeling when I enter this store. It became a second home this weekend when cleaning out my deceased mothers storage unit. Jan is the reason I was able to succeed in that quest this weekend. She is one of the mist incredibly compassionate humans I've ever had the chance to cross paths with. She is the definition of what it means to be a part of a community. I will FOREVER be grateful to her and the Bird's Nest shop. If you aren't already, please SUPPORT this local business.

Yelp
My husband and I were strolling by after dinner and I spotted some beautiful uranium glass in the window. Unfortunately the shop had closed! Becky came to the door and unlocked it and greeted us saying the register was closed but she would be happy to save the piece for me. She was so sweet and literally made our night!! If you are in the market for one of a kind gifts for someone (or yourself) go to Bird's Nest! Such nice people and wonderful eclectic finds.

Yelp
OK to be honest, I've never bought anything from this place. But it has so many unique pieces of clothing and jewelry. A lot of it is antique and if I need to close or jewelry, I would really dive in. The proprietor is extremely nice and I think it would be a great place for a young girl to shop.

Cindy W.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem tucked into Montgomery Village and offers new gift items as well as vintage finds. Thoughtfully displayed and quite reasonable, Linda carries a mixed variety of items, from better labeled clothing to decor and furnishings. She really strives to keep her prices low. I found a great set of curtains and a wonderful antique lithograph on my last couple visits. New inventory consistently, helpful staff of sweet ladies and great prices make this a great stop to hunt a bargain.

Cyndi B.

Yelp
I recommend this shop as a place to purchase unique gifts and something for yourself. I love the way Jan and her wonderful associates hang clothing into color blocks...you want something blue? Go to the Blues section of clothes that contain all the hues of that color. Her merchandise space is also placed by color...gold, black, white, silver, et al and has an amazing array of wonderful treasures and jewelry to offer people of all ages. It's a must-see...and it took many years for me to stop and look because I spent my money next door at the Village Art store; but, I am so glad I finally stopped and shopped at the Bird's Nest. Now, it's always a "must-see" when I am at Montgomery Shopping Center.

Yelp
I used to shop there occasionally, even though they are seriously overpriced ($30 for a used dress?). Went in today, whilst out doing my share supporting various local businesses, and was dismayed to find the sales clerk proudly strutting around without a mask. All the customers had one on, but not her. I asked her about it and she argued that she didn't have to wear one. I told her that even if she feels invulnerable, her customers don't have any way of knowing if she's vaccinated (and I wouldn't believe her if she said she was, with the attitude she displayed), and that the County and State rules still required masks, which prevail even though the feds are easing their recommendations (County and State rules apply here - not the fed recommendations), and that it was just rude to not wear one right now after all we've gone through. She took a haughty attitude. I told her I would take my business elsewhere. She said that was great with her. I will never go back.

Darrylin M.

Yelp
Lovely shop with kind, helpful staff. On of my go-to's when looking for a special gift or home accessory.

Scott M.

Yelp
Quaint. French influence. Interesting items. Reasonable prices. Owner is a doll. Fun little shop my wife adores to visit now and then and always manages to find a trinket or two, to three or, well you know. Worth a visit. Smell the soaps.

Sarah S.

Yelp
From Linda the original owner, to Jan, the current owner, Birds Nest will always be a inviting and fun shopping experience. Decorated with a fun, honest-hearted warmth that ever home needs, Birds Nest is my go-to for gifts and clothing.

Tricia G.

Yelp
This place is an eclectic mix of beautiful and interesting used items all coordinated by color. The owner greeted us on arrival welcoming the children with us to go ahead and touch anything. She said kids learn by touching and if something gets broken it's ok. My two year old granddaughter indeed touched everything! And she did break a tea cup. To her word the owner really was ok with it. Her china and glass pieces were gorgeous. There was something for everyone in this shop. I found a beautiful scarf with koi fish on it. I'm not sure why my daughter didn't buy the high end pieces of clothing she was looking at but again beautiful and classy. She did get a nice leather purse. My granddaughter fell in love with a giant giraffe that we had to take home. If you're near this place don't miss it, it really is fantastic. I will be sure to visit again.

Yelp
This store is a lovely stop and conveniently located in Montgomery Village. The lay out of the store is beautiful (mostly same-colored items in sections) but squished (one must be a size 2 or not carrying anything in one's arms to walk around inside the store). There is a seemingly never-ending selection of clothing, small household decor, and jewelry. I recommend at least one trip to discover this treasure trove for yourself. The DOWNSIDE is, as mentioned above, there is no room to move around in the store as there are items EVERYWHERE. ALSO, I ran into a woman at a YARD SALE who said she was the OWNER of the store and she was buying items to sell IN THE STORE. I guess there is nothing wrong with that as the store sells both new AND used items, what I have a problem with is the INSANE prices of those things that one can see are used and PROBABLY came from a yard sale. Talk about a major mark up! The used clothing is also priced high, which surprises me. The sale rack that is frequently in front of the store has some nice items at times, but I have gone from shopping/browsing the store regularly to just walking by it on my way to Village Art Supply due to the ever-increasing prices of the USED items. I recommend at least one visit.

Raven R.

Yelp
I enjoying visiting this shop. Great prices on things new and old. It is fun to shop by color and faster since there are colors I avoid. I have purchased things for myself and gifts. You might miss it as you drive in but it's a delight.

Yelp
Love this store. When heading home from wine country a year and a half ago, discovered this store. Love, love, love. When returning from mini vacation, told hubby we need to stop by again. Love how the store is set up. So cute and fun to shop here. The employee is friendly. I always leave with a few items. I tell people about this store. When asked about my vacation, I will tell my coworkers about this stop as one of the highlights of my trip. Wish there was one of these stores in SF Bay Area.

Yelp
Actually didn't want to even write a review of the Bird's Nest, because stumbling upon it, I felt like I had found a secret treasure that I wanted to keep forever! Alas, friends, I will impart this gift even to you, as something this great can't be kept hidden! You can imagine my astonishment at finding this gem, and being told it had been located there for over 10 years! I lived just down the street for a time, and my shock was substantial that my shopping sense had never led me here before. The store is absolutely chock full of treasures, I spent a good half an hour just trying to take it all in before I was actually doing any shopping. The owner is wonderfully warm and friendly, and the subsequent times I've visited, the staff have been equally wonderful. The shop is located on the south side of the post office, next to the Art Supply store, and just east of Starlet and a wonderful sportswear store. I love the concept of green shopping, whether it be gently pre-used items, or antiquing, as long as the shopping is local, I'm happy. This store not only has green clothing, shoes, handbags, etc, but also highlights many small vendors including some amazing winter scarves and furry glove sets, and given the season I was shopping, many custom creations for Christmas. My exceptional glee was finding out that in the Christmas season, the store was open till 9pm every night! This provided people with busy schedules( such as myself) some precious shopping time, and it was actually very relaxing and cozy, despite the season. I noticed specifically a great selection of Dooney and Burke, CaBi clothing, and some exceptional custom silk clothing. My only negative with this shopping experience is that I get a tad overstimulated with so much sensory overload. The store is literally packed, every corner, every nook, with goodies. This actually works for many people, because it gives such a sense of exploring and choices, but it was something of a hassle for me to get through, but that's just me. I will definitely be back, looking for the next adventure in the bird's nest.

Yelp
This sweet store is a treasure in Santa Rosa. Such a fun place to browse and find a special unique gift. And what's best is the amazing staff. They are delighted to help you find the perfect item, and go the extra mile for each customer. Daphne is an angel.

Yelp
This is a fun little shop in Montgomery Village. It's filled to the brim with pretty knick-knacks for your home: shaped, scented guest soaps; "bejeweled" picture frames; decorative door knobs; darling little jewelry boxes; etc. Stepping inside feels like being in a cozy country estate/boudoir. I think it's aimed at an older crowd though, so it's more fun for window shopping or for buying gifts for female relatives. They also have lots of seasonal items for holiday decorating.

Yelp
So, after we held the Jasper-The-Colt pancake breakfast fundraiser, I attempted to mail one of the place mats to one of the donors - a nice family from Santa Rosa. When I received the place mat 'returned - not at this address' I hand delivered them to the family today. While there I spied a really cool purse and Jacquie told me "I bought that for my Mom at the 'Bird's Nest' in Montgomery Village .... great prices, very nice stuff. You should check it out". So, I did. The place is SO extremely cool! It's such a wonderful little secret! The atmosphere is welcoming and the fun just never stops when you walk through the place. I walked the entire store 3 times, just to see it all again. No kidding! And I hate (HATE) to shop. The most beautiful things in the most scrumptious and alluring layout. The items are all very nice and the prices are amazing. For my niece I bought the sweetest glass earrings for $12 that say "Love" on one side and "You" on the other. I loved them so much, I bought myself a pair, too, so when I wear them, whoever reads them, smiles. I also bought a very cool purse with a snaffle bit on it. Yep! Black all-weather leather AND a snaffle bit. Yep! The ladies in there are nice and helpful and charming. I hope it is wildly successful for them. Do go; you won't be disappointed.

Lyn S.

Yelp
Called and scheduled appt to drop off my gently used clothing and jewelry, and pleasantly received a fair amount in return. Lots of cute things to choose from! Definitely worth a visit to take a look to see if you can find the perfect gem :)

Tammy K.

Yelp
This is such an amazing and beautiful shop. The merchandise is lovey and the staff even more so. We will certainly make it a point to visit when we return to Santa Rosa.

Yelp
I Purchased a top that had a small hole in it which I was willing to repair so they gave me a 20% discount. I brought the top home and tried it on with what I wanted to pair it with and it did not work out. The next day, I went to return the top only to be told that I could not because it had a hole in it. I was told that If I had not purchased the top, they would have sent it back to the manufacturer. Not sure what difference a day makes in them being able to do just that. It had the tags attached and the hole untouched. The exact way that I got it. The kicker was that I was never told that this was a final sale. No money back, just store credit at this point. I would not have purchased the top if I had known I could not return it because I could not try it with the other items I wanted it for. I was told to come back when the owner was in to speak to her if I wanted, and nobody knew when that would be. Just by chance, the owner called on the phone. I was not allowed to talk to her. I was told I could get a store credit. I emailed the owner telling her of my issue and she told me that what the clerk says, goes. The clerk said she told me that there was no refund on this item so the customer is only right if the clerk says so. Unbelievable. I will never shop at this store again with the rude clerk, and the absentee owner that lets the clerk run the business. Be very careful when shopping there. The store policy is up to the whim of what they come up with at the time. Nothing printed on the receipt that says anything about no refunds. If there was a no star option, I would have chosen that.

Yelp
This little spot has something for every female! Its cute, quaint and super adorable. Every time I have a look around I always leave with something! The ladies are very pleasant. This spot is a gem! No matter where you browse in this store there is something different and charmingly spectacular in every corner, nook and cranny.

Beth L.

Yelp
Great selection of odds and ends although no real antiques that I could see. New, used and vintage collectibles.

M.E. T.

Yelp
Found a very nice dresser drawer (Ethan Allen) reasonably priced on Craig's List. I called the # and it was located at the Bird's Nest Antiques. The women who assisted me were very helpful and I was able to make arrangements to have it picked up several days later. I am very pleased with the dresser. High quality and in great shape. Thanks!

Kim H.

Yelp
I just tried on like five dresses and they were super helpful until I decided not to buy anything and then when I said thank you she wouldn't even respond. Rude, rude ,rude

Elle G.

Yelp
I used to love this store. I've spent thousands in here. Today I took my mother in and a woman with short black hair was soooo rude to her. She had her minion following her around like she was going to steal. My mom is oblivious. I didn't want her to purchase anything but she did. When my mom said she was tired the woman said you look tired. I will never go back to that store again. I have never. I hope she reads this bc she can criticize my 70 year old mother but I hope she knows she looks just as tired and being a bitch makes you ugly.

Jill R.

Yelp
Cute shop! things seem reasonably priced. mix of old and new objects. good place to find a unique gift.

Margo S.

Yelp
This is such a unique little store. Fun gift items and the ladies there are very sweet.

Katrina S.

Yelp
The ladies here are passionate about the art of settling a boutique up and it shows. I love the color coordination. The prices are good and the quality seams wonerfully consistant.

Lyndi B.

Yelp
I love how the shop is organized by color. I can skip the tan / beige / yellow and go straight to the blue / purple. :-)

Tiffany B.

Yelp
I work in the village and have been wanting to check this spot out for a bit, I had some time to kill so I got my chance. It's a cute little store with fun nick-nacks and jewelry. I had fun looking around, trying on some sun glasses, and even had a pair of really fun earrings in my hand to purchase. The reason for the low star is once I was the only customer in the store, the older lady behind the desk would continue to sigh really loudly and heavily. I felt awkward so I complimented the store. Well she continued to sigh heavily, making me feel very uncomfortable. Like she was annoyed there was a costumer. After the 7th or so sigh, I put down the earrings I was going to purchase and left. Lost a paying and returning costumer, because you made the atmosphere feel like you couldn't be bothered.

Katie W.

Yelp
My first non-food related review. You know something had to be good to pull me out of the depths. Ok, I just ate, so my mind is free for about another 5 minutes to think of other items (not to worry, Dear Motherly Types, I figured out dinner whilst I was having lunch). Empty Nest is a consignment shop. That dirty, dirty word. I don't like consignment shops. I don't like garage sales, I don't like dirty, grimey or slimey. I would not use these words to describe Empty Nest, no sir. My Dear Motherly Type (well, not type, Actual) took me here to show me a f*ing cute purse that just had to be purchased. I am not a purse person either. I don't love accessories - but I'll be damned if I didn't snatch it from her hands and march it up to the counter. After paying, my Mom told me to come look at one last thing. It was an old Secretary's desk. Old. Nooks, crannies, fold-down-drawer, dark wood - all of it. I loved it. I asked the woman who worked there how much. She told me $249.00. "Hmmmm. $249.00?" I said, thinking that's pretty good. "Oh, I'm sorry, it's $349. I'm so sorry. You know, because I said $249, I will give it to you for that." Huh? Shit yeah! I bought it on the spot. My Mom had overheard her simply giving another woman a trinket that she had admired - and she hadn't even bought anything at all! Who was this wonderous clerk? Turns out she's the OWNER, a Pastor's Wife and a Sweetheart of a Human Being. I know, we were all sure these were extinct. Apparently we were erroneous in our assumptions. And you know what they say about assumptions. . .

Priscilla Y.

Yelp
I went in the other day for Christmas shopping. I spent close to $100 and the two women at the counter never bothered to thank me for my purchase. I thanked them, and the one woman said 'you're welcome'. But I did not receive a thank you back! The owner never even looked at me, let alone smiled. I won't be returning.

Suzette B.

Yelp
Wonderful store with lots of treasurers...you can spend a little or a lot depending on what you are looking for. Clothes, trinkets, furniture, hats, purses, shoes, pictures, glassware, stemware, rings, earring, necklaces, This is a great place to go and browse...you can spend hours and hours there! Visit today.

Rory F.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little store to find that certain something when you don't know what you are looking for. It is clean and organized and I have bought everything from a thimble to a giant mirror with some clothing and enchantment charms. Take a little time and see everything. Enjoy.

Lisa G.

Yelp
This cute store is a great place to go when you need a gift for someone but you don't know what to get! If you don't find something in here, then you should just give up! Great trinkets, jewelry, knick-knacks, home furnishings- all at really good prices. Also, they have a lot of nice clothes/accessories on consignment which are really cheap. I love cheap! Just wanted to spread the word on this great little store, because I walked by it for YEARS before I finally went in one day. I just thought it was a different store than it really is. I love it!

Karin S.

Yelp
I walked into this store yesterday, and had the most delightful experience. It reminded me of another gem out on Highway 12 on the way to Sonoma, The Secret Nest, and it turns out that that is their 'sister' store - not owned by the same person, but with the same training. Anyway, I found one treasure after another in this store. Displays are arranged by color, and the merchandise is completely unique. You can tell the owner has a knack for fun. I was also delighted to find a fair sampling of glass boxes made by Devlin, which are soldered together and are great for storing jewelry (I already have 4, or I would have had a field day here). Some were decorated with dragonflies, which I'd never seen before. The only other place I found that sells these in Sonoma County is the Forestville Pharmacy, which is a total trip by itself. But back to the store. It was like a mini-museum, where you can buy everything for a fantastic price. I ended my trip at the cashier's, and found a unique jewelry rack with owl figurines on it. I asked the cashier, Helena, if it was for sale, and she said, "everything in the store is for sale, including me." What a saucy wench - I loved it. We had a great talk, and Helena ended up giving me a bar of Sandalwood soap as a gift for my first trip to this incredible store. I noticed today that the soap was made in Duncan's Mills, one of my favorite towns. I wish I'd found this store earlier. It is too cool for words. I will be back, for sure.

Susan B.

Yelp
This fantasy land is filled with treasures at affordable thrift store prices. Lovely music and fragrances linger in the background as you stroll longingly through each color section of the shop. Whites lead you to pinks, then purples, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, reds, browns, blacks. Then you circle back for a closer look. Each hue mixes garments with accessories with small household items. All in perfect or near perfect shape. The mesmerized fellow-hunters usually find a special treat for themselves or a gift for another. It is not surprising that the owner is cordial and generous. She insisted on giving my adult daughter the coat that I was buying when she heard that she harbored my husband and me when evacuated during the 2017 Sonoma wildfires. Even when I don't need anything, I drop into Bird's Nest for the aesthetic experience when I am at Montgomery Village. I rarely leave empty handed.

Michelle W.

Yelp
I LOVE this store. It is a "Ladies" store. Everything frilly and pretty and unique. I love to buy all my friends birthday presents here, but usually end up keeping whatever I buy... oh my!

cathy L.

Yelp
Just make sure to have an inventory of what you are selling to them and check it to make sure you have the items they did not buy from you before you leave the shop.

Issie V.

Yelp
I've been coming to this shop for years. Sometimes I find something to buy, other times I just browse. The ladies who work here always make you feel welcome and are never too busy for a bit of a chat. I've bought all kinds of things here, mostly jewelry, little knick knacks and scarves. What I get most excited about is finding something picked up at an estate sale, which is a one-of-a-kind item. It always makes me feel like I've found a true treasure, and I guess in a sense I have. I've picked up a pair of genuine silver earrings with interesting opaque blue stones, a pair of little white enamel dove earrings, a carnelian ring, a Delft egg cup, some lovely little boxes and little glass bottles decorated with dragonflies, just to name a few. If you find something you really like however, I suggest getting it on the spot. I've come back later only to be disappointed to find it gone.

Yelp
Beautiful clothing, depression glass, jewelry, antique tables, unique bobbles...this store is ever changing and a huge delight to visit throughout the year.
