Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique – Craig (Tanjong Pagar)

​If you are looking for the best ice cream in Singapore, Birds of Paradise at Craig Road is an absolute must-visit. Tanjong Pagar location is just as beautiful and much more convenient if you’re exploring the city center. ​What sets them apart is their botanical signature. They don’t just do standard chocolate or vanilla, they create art using herbs, flowers, and spices. My personal favorite is the White Chrysanthemum it’s light, floral, and has these tiny cacao nibs that add the perfect crunch. The Sea Salt Hoojicha is also incredible if you like something more earthy and roasted. ​Whatever you do, order the Thyme Cone. They make them fresh in store. It’s warm, crispy, and elevates the ice cream to a whole new level. ​The shop design is minimalist, though it can get quite busy during the weekend rush. Even if there’s a queue, it moves fast, and the staff are always friendly and efficient. It’s the perfect refreshing treat after a meal in the Tanjong Pagar area.

Love, love the interior design of most of their shops - I was drawn to the curves but ever more by one particular staff who was friendly and welcoming the minute I stepped foot in the shop to check out the available flavours. I have been to others but they failed to engage hence I didn’t stick around as the pricing was daunting just for ice cream nor do I want to pay that much for poor customer service. But at this particular shop, I received a warm reception and he seemed to be knowledgeable of each of the flavour unlike the others I went to who were dismissive, so that was a good start. Decor was minimalist and open - lots of seatings available and at the end of the shop, it looks out to the greenery which is a refreshing change - almost zen like until the loud and noisy crowd came and ruined it for me 😆 In terms of pricing, it’s expensive - not something I would want to pay on a regular basis but a pamper once in a blue moon, I would definitely return here for more.

i got 2 scoops: white chrysanthemum and strawberry basil with a thyme flavored cone. i honestly really liked this ice cream shop because i love getting unique, herb, tea flavors ice cream so i’m biased. white chrysanthemum was very fragrant and strawberry basil was lightly sweeten. would come back!

Good ice cream shop. Creative and unique flavors they have. Good taste and cone are fresh homemade. Seating area are not big and air conditioned. Credit card accepted. Enjoy!

Birds of Paradise Gelato in Katong absolutely blew me away—it’s hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The flavours are incredibly unique, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The space itself is a statement to what is possible in a small area - Minimalist and Botanical, Scandinavian-inspired with tropical touches, Calm, airy, and nature-focused.Accents of greenery and subtle botanical motifs that echo their nature-inspired gelato flavours If you’re in Singapore, this is an absolute must-visit. I’m still dreaming of the gelato!

Huge variety of flavours to choose from. Had the Osmanthus and Chrysanthemum flavours. Personally preferred the Osmanthus flavour as the flavour hits upon taking a scoop. Looking forward to try the other flavours next time.

Although a bit pricey, the quality and creativity justify it. With elegant interiors in S shaped interior in this branch, I highly recommend to all gelato lovers seeking a sophisticated and flavorful dessert experience in Singapore.
