We always make sure to make a stop at Birdsong when we are in town. Mike and Nelson took excellent care of us on an otherwise quiet afternoon. Lots of seating available inside and out and fun but not too loud music. Peanuts a plenty and a food truck outside made for a very pleasant afternoon.

Great place , wings and drinks. Awesome staff. Went for trivia night - my only criticism is that the trivia was fun but dragged on way too long . It was supposed to be 7-8:30pm But the announcer went around collecting everyone’s sheets and spent way too much time talking to each group. Other places I go have each team person just bring up their sheets. Then she could’ve chatted with everyone after.

Google
Great beer options - something for everyone. Friendly staff. Nice outside seating area. One of a few local places with a sizeable parking lot. It does get full and the place becomes a war zone if there is an event though so come up at your own risk.

We had a great time at this brewery, enjoying their fantastic selection of beers, free peanuts, and excellent atmosphere. We made the most of the beautiful weather by sitting outside at one of the many picnic tables. I really appreciate that this brewery caters more to adults, creating a relaxing environment without the distraction of unsupervised kids running around.

Google
Cute little craft brewery in Charlotte. Parking is available in a small lot or on the street. Indoor and outdoor seating available. No food options other than a food truck but they do have bowls of peanuts on the picnic tables outside. They offer year round, seasonal and limited release beers so a nice selection. Tried their Rewind Lager (4% ABV). Very light and refreshing. Definitely a fun way to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Google
Awesome craft brewery with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Most pints are $5-6 which is such a relief compared to other breweries in the area. Weekly specials are even cheaper. You can use all that money you saved to tip your bartenders! 😁

Laura M.

Google
Lovely people and bartenders who make an effort to get the right beer for you. I appreciated the samples to find the right fit. I liked the vibe and the lack of TVs. There's boardgames you can check out and plenty of books. Good stuff.

Google
My wife and I love Birdsong. We have started going there at least once a week, as it is just off the trail it is a great reward after a long walk. The bartenders, especially Mel, Neilson and all the others are spectacular. The beers are always great. Just had Party Starter (Oktoberfest) and it is sooo damn good. Also you can’t beat the prices. For a craft brewery to keep their prices this reasonable is a rarity. It is always a welcoming space. They do allow dogs, which we aren’t dog people, but most of the dog owners that go there are respectful and don’t allow their dogs to misbehave which we are grateful for. All in all it is a must visit brewery. Get a Rewind Lager, enjoy the music which is always great and unwind. Keep up the great work!!!

Yelp
Definitely has the vibe of a local neighborhood, brewery, to a fault. I planned to stay here, and get some work done, and drink a handful of brews. I ended up just staying for one. The place wasn't very crowded, but the folks running the taps seemed too much more interested in talking to people then refilling my beer, which stayed empty for 20 minutes. Beer was solid, but not mind blowing.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Brewery. Parking is good and we never have an issue with finding a spot. Within walking distance of optimist hall which is another bonus! Beers are tasty and staff is always friendly
google avatar

Yelp
Love the staff, and enjoy the atmosphere ! I like that customers can bring there kids, and dogs

Yelp
Nice spot. I've been attempting to hit up a majority of the breweries in Charlotte and this was my next stop. Nice selection but a lot of IPA's. Maybe that's the norm anymore and hate to ding them on that. I'll drink about anything but I like more of a variety at my "go to" breweries. Staff was great and there is plenty of seating in and out. I could frequent coming here.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood brewery with plenty of seating indoors and out. There was a DJ spinning tunes in a private party room. The restroom was clean and stocked. Free parking adjacent to the space. I had a kombucha and my husband tried Rewind lager. Both were cold and refreshing. There are no servers so just belly up to the bar to order under the cute hanging birdies.

Yelp
In a time when there are so many breweries in Charlotte, it's so refreshing to be at a place that cares more about the craft of brewing, beer and the community. You can create then making stupid money. They have such fantastic creativity with constant rotating taps and a service staff that truly tries to make everyone feel totally at home. This is absolutely my favorite place to go in Charlotte and I super encourage everyone to spend their time at Birdsong.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my goodness, this place was amazing! The vibe was so welcoming and there are so many different areas to enjoy a good beer. This was very dog friendly, and people were all so inviting and friendly. The beer is good, the service is good, the entire venue and field of the place was excellent! Try it out!
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Was really disappointed that the Porter and Stout were not available but the dark lager was fairly good. Service was good and prices were really reasonable
google avatar

Deanne B.

Yelp
Peanut allergy people beware! I love peanuts but my DIL is highly allergic to them. Sat on the patio listening to jazz. It was a lovely evening with great entertainment. Got here early so parking wasn't an issue. All the dogs were adorable. One couples dog didn't appreciate jazz and was howling. It was quite amusing. Fortunately the left fairly quickly.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Still an awesome place to visit! Parking is very easy, as they have their own lot. Dog friendly indoor and outdoor, nice large space to sit, plenty of beers to choose from, including year round and small batch beers. Service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is always laid back.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not a brewery fan, give me a winery any day. However I was here for a special event, and I had their blueberry strawberry sour and it was so delish and refreshing. Place was spacious and very clean. They had a live dj going and a food truck, so I can definitely see it can be a fun place to meet up with some friends and just vibe out when weather is great.
google avatar

Kenneth S.

Yelp
Excellent beer! Wait staff is very helpful and kind. Oh yeah, can't forget the complimentary roasted peanuts. Large parking lot, so you do not need to pay for parking.

Peter L.

Yelp
I was at Charlotte Airport and tried one of their Ipas, wasn't impresssed, sorry Girls, I'm picky

Yelp
Fine selection of beers to drink onsite whether from the tap or the can and in a nice environment both inside or outside. I took half a Friday off and me and my better half went to NoDa for some Cabo tacos and then headed to Birdsong on what was a beautiful NC spring day. I like beer but don't like IPAs. I've just got whatever gene it is that makes a person especially sensitive to bitter and that feels like all I can taste with an IPA. Even with Lagers, Pilsners or other less hoppy brews beer makes me feel bloated so on this visit I ordered one of their seasonal special Sours, Strawberry Lemonade. That turned out to be an excellent choice and loved that I could go back inside and buy two four packs to take home. There's so many great breweries in CLT, we are truly fortunate. Birdsong is one of them and I'm glad they're here doing what they do.

Yelp
This is my review of the phenomenal and wonderful Mexicali Stout beer!! I love this beer so much! The flavors of coffee and cinnamon and chocolate tasted divine! I loved the combination of flavors and it is like a liquid dessert in a glass. This one is my favorite one and I know it's seasonal so I drink a bunch when it's available late Oct-January. I wish they had it all year!! It is a wonderful beer paired with Mexican food too!
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
ABSOLUTE BLAST!! Staff is awesome!!! Thank you Lisa and Megan for a REMARKABLE experience!!!!

Yelp
"Take Out Beer" the sign said. Dang it, here I am and I'm thirsty and I also have a takeout burger from nearby Ace Number 3. The parking lot is neatly lined up with empty kegs to flow the traffic in a single queue up to the tent where two very nice dudes (wearing gloves) were lined up to swipe credit cards and deliver beer. I asked that they put it in the trunk, thanks. Birdsong's Jalapeno Pale Ale is a treasure. Just a light hint of the spice and otherwise a tasty pale. It's amazing. Stop by and pick some up to enjoy during your self-isolation. [Review 13065 overall, 382 of 2020.]

Yelp
What a fun place to be! It's huge and has many places to sit so come with a crowd! They have peanut dispensers!!!! We loved that. The beer was great and the service was friendly and also helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoy Birdsong beer, especially the sours, and I really enjoy the taproom (to an extent). My biggest issue with birdsong is their peanuts. I would ask the owners to consider making the fact that they have peanuts in house more prominent on their website because it is quite hidden on its website and often overlooked unless specifically word searching for it. I get everyone loves peanuts, but that is an extreme major allergen the owners leave completely unchecked to the whims of patrons without online disclosure. Because of that and the lack of easily found disclosure on their website, I'm only giving Birdsong four stars. I personally do not plan to return to Birdsong, but I will not discount their good beer and taproom setup.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Birdsong Brewing is a really good brewery! They have a good variety of beers available for all types of beer drinkers. Love the Jalapeno Ale! A good amount of seating is available inside, but there are also picnic tables and seating outside on the patio. Staff is super friendly and helpful! There is a parking lot available at the brewery, but if full, then there is street parking in the area. Birdsong does not have a kitchen for food, but has a food truck outside where you can purchase food. A definite must try if you have not been.
google avatar

Jeanine K.

Yelp
One of our favorite breweries in Charlotte! My staple beer here is the jalapeño pale ale and always gotta grab some peanuts to snack on! All breweries should have something to snack on, just saying :) keeps me there longer haha Great inside and outside space -- including heaters for these colder months.
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
Some of the best beer in Charlotte can be found right here! Some of their staples include Jalapeño pale ale is always a crowd pleaser - spicy but oh so drinkable. There's also the Mexicali stout - again just a hint of spice in this beautiful dark beer. My current favorite is their Paradise City - a session IPA that you could drink all day long. They also have amazing small batches and seasonals - with the wake up porter being my all time favorite. Pink robots is also a delicious sour, and as I'm thinking of beers, I realize I don't think I've had a "bad beer" here. Everything I try is always delicious in some way. They also have cider, Lenny Boy kombucha and sodas for the non-beer drinkers and all the peanuts you could wish for. I also love how they are environmentally friendly even down to giving the peanut shells to a farm. Their space is great, with a large outside area and even an event space - it's also dog friendly (outside) and kid friendly (as long as they're not being crazy). Their staff is also down to earth but very beer knowledgeable, as well as all around awesome.

Yelp
Birdsong Brewery is the brewery that brews the All Knight Long beer for the Charlotte Knights. The brewery has indoor/outdoor seating and a food truck parked near buy offering a food option. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and polite. I asked about their ciders and was recommended a berry cider. It was fruity and fresh. They offer some events, as well as live music. You can purchase their beers to purchase.

Yelp
I love this place. I've been going here for years. Jalepano Pale Ale, Other People's Pineapple are my faves. Always a great rotation of charlottes best food trucks and a dj on Wednesday. Super fun super chill.

Yelp
First time, but won't be my last! Came here with a friend to grab a few beers on a Saturday afternoon.* The parking lot seemed to be adequate for the space, but we had to wait for a car to leave to find a spot in the side lot. The place was packed, but the line was not long at the bar to get a beer, it just felt overwhelming at first. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs and after a few minutes we found a few seats at the side of the bar and felt like royalty. There are an abundance of IPA's at Bird Song! I personally prefer the lighter tasting blondes and wheats, but settled on a lager. After my first beer, I decided to switch to a CBD infused seltzer water, per the beertender's suggestion. Ya'll it was mighty fine and I was glad I didn't try to struggle through another lager. Super cool-they have help yourself peanuts and they give the shells to local farmers for compost! *Please note the beertender mentioned that this was a rare Saturday that had 2 larger parties celebrating birthdays in the tap room. She explained the vibe is more chill than the day I came in. Pro Tip: Go to their website (at the bottom of the homepage) and sign up for the newsletter for a free pint glass!

Yelp
Birdsong Brewing consistently produces some of the best, freshest, most delicious beer here in Charlotte. I'm always amazed at the planning that goes on behind the scenes in not only creating new beers for special occasions, charities/fund raising and Thirsty Thursdays but also improving/reworking existing recipes. The IPA Series from this past year (if you missed it) was a really cool and tasty way to explore beloved old school and new, upcoming and popular versions of the IPA. Just recently - like this past Thursday - they started reigniting their EP (Extended Play) Series,a bit of a throwback to their old location, which will feature a single hops. The first release, EP Pale Ale with Loral Hops is seriously incredible. I have tried at least 100 Birdsong beers and this may be my new favorite. I sh*t you not. So - throw in a bunch of awesome staff who love people, dogs and beer. Throw in some food trucks and live music. Throw in some solar powered good times and chill vibes. What do you get? Birdsong Brewing of course - silly goose! If you've never been here, or are passing through town/doing a brew tour of Charlotte make sure Birdsong is on your list!!!

Yelp
This has long been one of my favorite breweries in Charlotte. They have a really relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and most importantly great beer. My personal favorite of their regular line up is the lazy bird brown ale. The optimist park neighborhood has been growing a lot lately but this place has been open for years. Since it's on my way to NoDa I almost always make a stop in here to start a night out.
google avatar

Kathleen A.

Yelp
My favorite brewery. My husband and I go here often, and are recognized by some of the staff. beautiful noda hangout 5 stars for beer and staff, management, and atmosphere.
google avatar

Sonya L.

Yelp
It's a brewery! 14 beers on tap of different styles. From IPAs to one lonely porter. Super sad b/c no Mexicali stout on tap. However they could build you a Can-Cave! ( see picture) Lots of parking and lots of seats inside for everyone. Easy going and friendly staff. Enjoying the punk music in the background and it's low enough you can have a conversation. There are also games you can grab when you're hanging out for a pint or two or three or well...four.
google avatar

Salena C.

Yelp
Easily one of the best experiences in Charlotte. Everyone that works here is so fantastic. Our bar tender, Justin, listened to our likes and wants, and he was such a genuine soul. I seriously thought he made the whole experience 5 plus stars and I absolutely adored him! He asked what I like to drink, and I jokingly said mimosas, so he mixed a cider with a beer and told me I was in for a surprise. It was HEAVENLY and mimosa-esque! He talked to us about our travels, gave us food suggestions in our upcoming cities, and threw in a four pack of our fave beer ON HIM to "enjoy on the beaches in Charleston" for him. And he wasn't just treating us this way.... he treated each and every one of his customers just like that. I was also able to chat with the owner while the BF was grabbing more of the unlimited peanuts, and he takes such pride in his establishment. I had a huge smile on my face just from watching him beam. In a city that has a ton of breweries, this is definitely THE one you should go out of your way for. Fave experience in Charlotte for sure.
google avatar

Adi B.

Yelp
Great spot for a weekday meetup in NoDa with friends! There is a gravel parking lot onsite, but it definitely was getting busy and crowded, so be prepared to look around the lot a bit for a spot. Large drink selection & there is a food truck outside if you get hungry!
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
A great brewery. The beers are excellent and the indoor and outdoor area are both spacious and inviting. They don't serve food, so dogs are allowed, which is awesome. They also have a good selection of board games. They're really supportive of the bike community as well. They even have their own road biking team here in Charlotte. If you're not a beer drinker, they always have a guest tap which usually has some variety of cider
google avatar

Jacey M.

Yelp
This brewery is one of my favorites in Charlotte. My husband and I have been coming to this brewery since it was at the old location closer to NoDa. The atmosphere here is great! There is plenty of places to sit, but it does get crowded so be ready to stand. Good news, they have an awesome outdoor patio with plenty of seating! The employees are always great. Knowledgeable about what they do and passionate about it too. If available, take a brewery tour. How they got started and the reasoning behind their name is super interesting! Finally, the beer. I think Birdsong has very distinct beer. It doesn't taste like any other brewery in town and I really enjoy that. The biggest staples here, I think, is the jalapeño beer, Higher Ground IPA, and the Mexicali stout (when in season). My favorite is the Wake Up Porter though and I wish it was all year round. So good! And the price is great!! All of their flagship beers are $4 (which includes tax). Go ahead and name another brewery that has great beer for that low of a price...I'm waiting. Seriously, great place and if you haven't gone you need to go! They also do plenty of specialty batches which are good as well. For Valentine's Day one year they did a blueberry and a cherry or raspberry chocolate stout..amazing! This location is pretty close to the light rail too so you have no excuse to not visit!!
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
Birdsong is a pretty cool spot. There's ample parking in a gravel lot and it's easy to get to.The space is fun and there's an outdoor area as well. They have a variety of their own brews and on my visit, Windy Hill cider was also on tap. I went for a Little Room which is a Belgium pale ale. It was a nice light beer, not very hoppy which is what I enjoy. After sipping my friend's Puppies over Penquins, I ordered a glass. It's a beer aged in red wine barrels. It has a wine taste and is a little tart, but I enjoyed it. Careful, it's strong and snuck up on me. This brew is seasonal and they release other special drinks throughout the year. The only thing lacking is there are no restaurants close to walk to. Thank goodness they had peanuts to snack on. We went thinking a food truck would be there. The brewery said they would be there at 5:30, but at 6:00, the truck, Hiya Food Truck, still wasn't there. We left because we were hungry. I don't blame Birdsong for this. Later on we passed Birdsong and Hiya eventually made it.
google avatar

Gerard S.

Yelp
Don't flip them the bird give them a visit. Dog friendly, kid friendly very welcoming brewery. Enthusiastic server more than willing to give suggestions of their favorites. Was fortunate enough to be able to sample a new release on one particular day. Good parking, good vibes, good pricing, and quality product. If you have a pet be sure to bring them.
google avatar

Tim D.

Yelp
They have a bunch of beers, food truck and a cool vibe. They have outdoor and indoor areas
google avatar

Ron S.

Yelp
Attended great Yelp private event. Nice selection of beers, but limited parking. Handy sign upon exiting front lot gives directions to back lot.

Craig J.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best beer Charlottes has to offer. Brewery is cozy and unpretentious and most of staff has been there for years. Free peanuts and rotating food trucks is a great touch. Highly highly recommend.
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
We are huge fans of Birdsong beer so naturally when we are in the area we make a point to stop in. We named our pup Birdie after Birdsong.. specifically their jalapeño ale. Because as both a beer lover and spice connoisseur it's one of my favorites. I should mention that it's not actually spicy but it has excellent jalapeño flavor. Keep being awesome y'all! See ya soon.
google avatar

Tommy S.

Yelp
Very fun vibe, the outdoor area is set up very nicely and makes it feel very homey. The drinks were average and the bartender was not welcoming at all. Good place to go and relax, but a little underwhelming.
google avatar

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
I've been to Birdsong a couple of times now. The most recent time was for Friends trivia. I'll start out by saying I'm not a beer drinker, so I appreciate that they have both a local cider and kombucha option on tap. Their beer is also pretty cheap. It's only $4. The cider and kombucha are $5. They have a decent amount of seating both inside and outside. The complimentary peanuts are definitely nice, but I wish they had real food as well. They do typically have a food truck, but they can be hit or miss on how good they are. They have a decent number of board games to play, although some of them are missing pieces or are broken. I will say that I didn't like trivia, so I won't be back for it. The questions were pretty easy, but they give you points for beers you drink, so it's essentially just a drinking contest. We got every question right and still got third. If you're a brewery fan, I would recommend trying Birdsong!
google avatar

Rob D.

Yelp
Met up with friends at Birdsong and had a great time. This is a great place to meet friends, enjoy the day and some great local brews. I was unsure of what to try and they were happy to let me try a few of the selections. I am a big Hefeweizen fan and settled on the Fake Plastic Trees Hippy Wheat. It was a nice blend and will make sure that I come back for more. Bottom line this is a great place to come and enjoy some great hometown brews with your friends. I will be back soon.
google avatar

Jared N.

Yelp
If you want good beer at a good price, go to Birdsong! They keep all their pricing reasonable unlike almost every other brewery in the area. You can choose to grab a pint in the taproom or a to-go 4 pack or growler. Birdsong is constantly brewing up new and unique styles to try so they never become stale. They're one of the oldest breweries in Charlotte but that doesn't stop them from continually making cutting-edge innovations to improve your experience. Did I mention they are powered by solar energy?! They kickstarted a dollar energy plan this year to become fully reliant on solar energy. Great beer + great for the environment! Go check out this great establishment and chat with their knowledgeable bartenders!
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Good beer, lots of outdoor seating with shade. We had flights that were good, not a fan of the lemon gosw though. Will return!
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
Birdsong is such a neat brewery and always dropping something new flavor wise. They've got a great patio and typically have a food truck on site.

Yelp
Awesome new space!!! Checked it out the other night and I was not disappointed. I had heard good things and Birdsong definitely delivered. To be completely honest, I had no idea where they had moved until one day I was driving towards Noda and got rerouted with that detour and stumbled upon their new location. There's ton's of room in the tap room with a unique spoke-like high top setup and then lower tables skirting the outside of the floor next to the windows. So many windows! The light coming in from outside was nice as well as a nice connection with the outdoor seating area. The bar area (where the "spokes" are radiating from) super cool, tons of seating and chalkboard space to advertise their brews and what's going on in the space. I didn't take a brew tour, but they look to have tons of space in the back and even a side selling area for merchandise (t-shirts, etc). Probably my biggest gripe in my first impression of their new digs is the parking lot. Maybe I just chose a bad night where everyone drove separately, but it was almost like a demolition derby out there. The parking lot out back is not necessarily connected to the front (most obvious lot), but there are still a lot of spaces. It also could have been their food truck setup for that night where the Imperial Sandwich Co took more spaces than needed. Other than that... great to have Birdsong in their new space (closer to uptown) and not right next door to NoDa. I did see some of the NoDa brew runners stop by here after their run (no judgement...) I'd probably do the same if the other tap room was super crowded.
google avatar

Jailene R.

Yelp
My friend and I were visiting Charlotte and stumbled upon Birdsong. It was nice brewery with plenty of charm. They have their own brews on tap. For me they were hit or miss. I enjoyed their IPAs but wasn't a fan of their stout. What I really like about this place is the community impact it holds. Many of the local restaurants offered Birdsong on their menu and it was great to see the community supporting a local business.

Yelp
I loved the logo & atmosphere. Boyfriend and I decided to split 2 flights: Flight 1 - Free Will Pale, Jalapeno Pale, Long Bird Brown and Higher Ground IPA Flight 2 - Saison, Fake Plastic Trees, Porter and 3 Little Birds Belgian Tripel The Jalapeno Pale which was surprisingly decent, I think the low heat factor made this beer drinkable. As far as the flights went well flight 1 was alright, I definitely enjoyed flight 2 more. Favorites were the Saison and Tripel. Complimentary peanuts and pretzels are available to snack on. Con: the parking lot is a bit scary, it is a very tight fit & getting out onto Davidson can be a bit tough Birdsong was a great way to start off brewery day in Charlotte!
