"Famous for its classic Outback pub, The Birdsville Hotel, and its annual horse races held on the first weekend of September, blink-and-you'll-miss-it Birdsville is a quintessential stop on a Queensland road trip. Also host to the world's most remote country music festival, Big Red Bash, Birdsville lies in close proximity to the Simpson Desert (Munga-Thirri National Park), with scenic flights over its golden sand dunes, as well as Lake Eyre in nearby South Australia, bookable through the hotel." - Travel + Leisure Editors

My son and I stayed for a night at the Birdsville Hotel. We flew out and the aerodrome is less than 100 metres from Hotel making it extremely convenient . All the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. The atmosphere in the pub was special and the meals were great. We both had steaks and the meat was tender and perfectly cooked to our requested liking. As we were flying out early the next morning they gave us some continental breakfast items the night before. Birdsville is a unique place and the pub makes it a memorable experience.

We had a great stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We arrived late evening and Ben the manager still organised for us to have dinner. A big shout out to Ben and the Hotel chef for a great meal and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend the Birdsville Hotel.

Given the remote location this was an oasis in the desert so to speak. |Quite recently renovated, fresh, clean and peaceful. Comfortable beds and great shower. |Air conditioned which is just the ticket out there. |And a short walk into the pub for a great meal and a coldie.

Absolutely loved Birdsville Hotel. This place lived up to the hype of being an amazing outback pub, with lots of charm and amazing food and service. We went at the end of October and whilst very quiet, the place was so friendly! Please visit Birdsville and say g'day to everyone there! We will be back!!

Excellent service from 2 locals and an English! Helped us out with roads, where to stay etc! Food is great and prices are good, portions are huge! Rooms: We paid $130 for a twin room The room was really clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. ♿️> pub, yes and accessible rooms are available 🚻 > yes 💵> $$

Can't really go to Birdsville and not go to the pub can you? We were there for the Sunday roasts - and they were very, very good and generously sized. Friendly service, lots of room and plenty of seating options either in or out. We enjoyed our meals and evening and can highly recommend it.

After 5 days in crossing the Simpson Desert, the Iconic Birdsville Pub is the perfect place to stop, refresh and reflect on one of life's best adventures. We stayed in the lodge and the room was extremely comfortable, exceptionally clean and excellent value for money. We had a beer or 2 in the pub and the service was warm and friendly. Our group of 4 all enjoyed dinner and all the meals were not only delicious but of an extremely good size perfect for weary desert travellers. We had a mix up with an extra meal ordered and the absolute no fuss sorting it out is a credit to the staff and management at the Birdsville Hotel. If your crossing the desert, attending on of the major events or simply passing through, we cannot recommend a beer, a meal, a stay or all three at the Birdsville Hotel. Thanks to the all the staff and management for a wonderful stay. Kindest regards Tony wardrobe

Evelyn, Noah, Ella and Brendan are 4 of the friendliest people you can meet. The food is delicious, the rooms are immaculate and everyone bends over backwards to help you. I really l loved my stay there and will be back again. And Evelyn is buying a Ford Ranger with airbags because she heard I did the crossing in a day and a bit. 😁
