Absolute worst!! When you’re shopping in these type of area/neighborhood as an African American or anything other than the color of paper they immediately treat you like you’re there to steal/rob them. The first time hubby and i went to get Xmas gifts for our boys, they give everyone an option to pay with them right then and there after receiving the shoes, but for us they sent us immediately to the register! The second time we went back to do an exchange and they immediately held on to our original form of receipt and returned the shoes w/o asking first!!! And we're a very quiet couple, we didn’t have on ski mask,we weren’t dressed to rob a bank! We’re always polite and well mannered !!!! I will never ever ever go back or even support Birkenstock!!! We returned everything for our money back!

I don't have good experiences here. They have very limited styles, but also, I was prepared to buy two pairs of shoes today, but they only had narrow in the size in the colors I wanted. It would have helped to tell me that they only had narrow so no one's time was wasted either.

I had a great experience while picking up a pair of Boston Clogs (Soft Footbed) in Taupe. From the moment I walked in, I was kindly greeted and directed upstairs to the men’s department, where Briana helped me from start to finish. She was super helpful in finding my best size, making sure I was comfortable with the fit, colorway, and overall style before I purchased. At first, the pair I chose looked a bit worn under the store lighting, but I didn’t think much of it until I stepped outside. When I returned to ask for a fresh pair, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily I was accommodated with a clean, untouched set—no hassle at all. Overall, the staff was friendly, the service was smooth, and the shopping experience felt effortless.

Thandi was excellent in showing what was in stock, different approaches to sizing, and options for pickup and delivery. Helped take me from exploring options to buying a pair in the same visit!

Dayvian you are horrible employee. they definitely need to retrain him before putting him on the floor. i never met such rude, mannerless and horrible customer service. whoever hired him definitely didn't deserve to be in the hiring chair.

I visited the Birkenstock store from NJ to get my correct fitting and purchase my first pair of Birkenstock sandals. The employees were very nice and exceptional. They helped me find my size and bring me the sandals I wanted. The store was a bit crowded and when I was directed upstairs to ask for the color sandals I wanted, the lighting gets a bit darker. I requested my color, first one came without the tags on, I asked why and they said it could possibly be that it was a “display” so I asked for another pair. The 2nd pair, the leather color was smeared all over the paper and the color was faded on the sandal, so I went with the first pair. When I got home, I compared the sandals, the left one was significantly darker and rougher. I checked, the suede was no good, seems like it either maybe got wet, not preserved correctly, or tried on too many times. I emailed their customer service who told me to go back to the store but I live far. You’re better off just going to a local Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s.

I had such a great experience with Emily at Birkenstock! She was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the entire process. Emily took the time to make sure I found the perfect fit and style and you could tell she genuinely cared about making sure I was comfortable and happy with my purchase. Her friendly attitude and professionalism made the whole visit enjoyable. If you’re shopping at Birkenstock, ask for Emily you’ll be in great hands!

I got my first pair of Birkenstocks when I was 14 and now I'm pushing past middle aged. I love them. This is a great store in soho to see all of your favorite styles. I'll be back.

Terrible policies, incompetent and dismissive salepeople, overpriced junk. We dont sell sale items we dont accept returns. we dont let you try this. we don't deliver...we don't... Oh! The power that comes with selling shoes!

This is a review on the Arizona sandal The ppl who work here are very very nice The quality of the shoes is sooooo bad Let's spend 150 on a sandal and have it for 3 months!!!!! I've spent too much money here for a season sandal or slippers quality is horrible to not recommend this business at all fix your quality issues first.

Well another fell asleep on the M metro and train event when I have a day off I hit the road. Try to get as much as I can done, but I definitely need a pair of new Birkenstocks. I love their selection and their colors. I love their prices, but I think I'm gonna have to order online, which is such a shame because I like, the shoe experience to see things so maybe next month hopefully the month of August I'll get down there again to get all the goodies I need for my day off customer service on the phone

I am a loyal and long time Birkenstock wearer. In fact, every shoe I own is a Birkenstock. I don't wear anything else. I usually order items on line if I am sure of the sizing. When there is a new item I go to the store and try it on and usually purchase a pair at the store. Then I reorder on line. Last night I went in to the soho store to try on a couple of boots style. The staff was rude (on their personal cells), very disinterested in helping. They acted like they were doing me a favor. They were reluctant to get me a different size (certainly did not suggest). I know that it was 6:30 when I got there and they close at 7:00, however, had they been more helpful I would have been out of there in 15 minutes. They were basically horrible to us. I hesitate to go to your store again. I feel you should know this because you have such a great product and if someone is going to try the shoes for a first time these sales people would have put them off. I will just take my chances and order on line from now on. Very disappointed. Lourdes Dykhouse

Such great service! Love getting new Boston clogs every year or so (I wear mine out at the heel) and it's always a pleasure. Quick and efficient, too!

I recently ordered a pair of shoes from LL Bean via their website. When the shoes arrived they felt too small. I had ordered size 9. The box and receipt said size 9...however the inside of the shoe label said size 8! So instead of returning via on line I decided to go to one of their stores and make an exchange. The store took the return but was out of stock of size 9. Hmmmm...so they ordered it for me and had it shipped to my house. A week later I received an email from LL Bean stating size 9 was out of stock. Well that was a bummer. So I went on line for a replacement. I found a pair of Birkenstock that I liked. The store was only a few blocks from my house. So at 11am sharp I showed up at the store. The security guard was super polite. He opened the door, pointed me to the mens shoe section of the store. I climbed the stairs and there was the shoe I wanted on display. The sales person approached me. I told him my size. He returned with the shoes. I tried them on, SOLD. I paid and walked out. All in a matter of minutes. On the way out the security guard opened the door for me. We exchanged pleasantries and that was that. The shoes feel good and I think they look good so it was a good purchase from a pleasant store.

I live in Baltimore, and this is the closest Birkenstock store to me. The staff was accommodating. They didn't have my shoe size or color in the store, but they ordered it and sent it to me with no cost for shipping. Going to the store is a better experience than ordering online. I appreciated the store and the staff. I hope they consider opening a store in the DMV.

Service was very friendly, quick, helpful, and attentive. Walked in to try a pair of birks for sizing purposes and the staff was very attentive. Store was clean and organized.

I confess to being rather surprised that there is only one review for this store before mine. I dug a few pages deep in Yelp's search results for "Birkenstock" and this was the only item for this Soho branch so this is where I'm writing my review. If there is a more "official" listing, someone write me via Yelp and please let me know. I came to this Birkenstock store with my girlfriend so she could pick up a couple pairs of slippers. She had owned Birkenstocks years ago, loved them but eventually they wore out. The original plan was to pick them up in a department store but when we saw a whole store dedicated to them, we thought this was the best bet to find something she would like! While I waited for my girlfriend to pick her slippers I was able to watch the staff work, and wow, this place was a well oiled machine. There is always someone charged with greeting customers as they come in. The middle of the store has a separate sales person and the back has another. They are ready to handle a steady influx of customers and when one does walk in, they are stepping right up to you to help out. The staff was in constant communication with one another. If someone moved away from a post, someone took over quickly. It was fantastic to watch. The sales associates were super friendly and helpful. They were knowledgable and answered every question in detail and even shared personal experiences with the products when they could. The store is beautiful (as you would expect in Soho). The first floor has women's shoes and (interestingly enough) skin care products in the back. Upstairs is for men's products. There is a bench to hang out on if you are waiting for someone and the products are laid out nicely on shelves in a beautifully lit showroom. I would highly recommend checking this place out. It is a prime example of how retail should be in my book.

I went in on a Saturday afternoon and the store was busy (line outside) BUT the customer service was so good. They were friendly helpful and genuinely seemed pleased to be there. They also have a great selection of shoes!

I arrived on a busy Friday and the store was packed. As the customers roamed the employees were attentive and speedy. Junior took care of me and I love the shoes I chose. At one point a deliver came in and the manager politely asked people to be aware and careful. Sadly an entitled woman was rude and spoke in a terrible tone. Both Junior and the manager remained polite and refocused on those of us there. Thank you!

The sales staff was extremely helpful exchanging two pairs of Birkenstocks. I highly recommend this Soho store during the week since the weekends can be very crowded.

I bought my first pair of Birks here and the staff was super helpful and friendly. The first floor is the women's and the second floor the men's shoes. The person that helped me (I never got her name sorry!) was really patient with me. She helped me convert my size to European size, helped me adjust the shoe straps so they felt comfortable, and gladly got me another pair when I said they felt uncomfortable. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to leave quickly and she gave me time to look and walk around in the shoes. She answered all my dumb questions, like, "Can I wear these on the beach?" and more importantly I felt comfortable asking questions. I've been to other shoe stores in Soho and this was by far my best experience! It's been a few months and my birks are one of the most comfortable shoes I own.

Great customer service here and zero attitude! So refreshing for Soho. And I left with the cutest pair of Birks. Hooray!

The sales person was SO helpful in selecting the right pair for me and my friend. She was very informative about the different styles and fit. For someone who has no idea about how the fit was truly going to be,except that it should be comfortable. Happy with the pair I purchased. Also glad we got there right when they opened since we were leaving NY. Great stop.

Staff gave me a worn out pair.. which I stupidly purchased. Didn't notice the fit was all wrong before walking out. It was also very crowded. They knew what they were doing when they sold me the stretched out try-on pair.

Great shoes, but small store and they had almost nothing in my size. On the way out, I finally found a pair. Was annoyed that the price online was cheaper, but I called the store and they were able to correct the price difference! Thank you!!

This is a dishonest store. My son purchased a pair of Birkenstocks there over the holidays. After he walked out, he realized the buckle was not right. He went back, they gave a credit and because they did not have another pair in his size at the store, he purchased another pair that they said would be shipped to him from their warehouse. We received the new pair quickly - in 3 days. But it was the same pair with the broken buckle. Outrageous. We tried to call them but no one ever picked up the phone at the store and we tried for several days. (We live out of state and were visiting NYC.) So we called Birkenstock corporate who said they could not help us because the shoes were bought in a store. I said we tried to contact the store but they never answer. And they are a Birkenstock store. I asked to speak to the manager and they said they would leave a message for a manager who would call us back within 24 hours. No one called back and we could not get anyone in the store. So....we purchased another pair on line, returned the one with the bad buckle in the box for the new one purchased on line and voila - all set with a lot of time and hassle. But we felt vindicated. Advice - purchase on line (so you can easily return on line if you need to). Do not purchase in the NYC store; they are not honest. They knew what they were doing in sending us the pair we had just returned for damage. Good shoes. Just terrible service. What a hassle.

We came to SOHO to shop for shoes. We were really excited to find this store. There is a large selection, friendly & knowledgeable sales people, & it's in a fun neighborhood. Definitely recommend making a stop if you are a Birkenstock fan and you are in the area.

all of their stuff is cute but no sizes in store and costumer service was non-existent. buy online would be my suggestion.

I buy Birkenstock's 1-2 years (they last a long time) I have never bought them in the company store because I was unaware that they were a thing. I usually buy from other stores that carry the brand but they usually only carry a handful of styles. Everyone was out of the shearling Arizona's that I've been wanting for fall. I found the address of this store on the official Birkenstock site under retail locations. I called to verify that they had what I wanted and they put them on a 24 hour hold for me. They don't feature order online for in-store pick-up yet but when I went to the store in the evening they had my pair. They had so many pairs that I have in mind for future purchases. They had colors and styles that I didn't know existed and the girl that helped me was super sweet (phone rep was super nice too). The girl also told me about a sealant for the cork that I didn't even know existed, once again probably because I usually buy from other retailers. If own These you know that on the cork there is a sheen on that area and it kind of breaks down from wear and tear. So I picked up the sealer which is applied about monthly and happily left with my cozy Birkenstock's. So if you're on the hunt for a specific pair and can't find them, they will most likely have them here and in your size.
