The gardens are the perfect place for a fall orchid show! The Alabama Orchid Society recently hosted their annual show there and it was great as always. Lots of beautiful orchids displayed in creative exhibits for the visitors to enjoy. Orchid sales were brisk as buyers were faced with the difficult decision as to which ones to purchase. Such a great dilemma!! Congratulations to the club and the gardens for a fabulous weekend of beauty.

We loved the botanical gardens. It was our first visit and we had so much fun with our 13 year old special needs daughter. Her favorite area by far was the Japanese garden with Koi ponds and we loved the bonsai section. I’m sure the cherry blossoms are beautiful in the spring but we were there in summer. I also loved the rose garden up front as it reminds me of my Dad who passed who grew roses. Now that we’ve been there we have plans to go back to see the Camellias in the winter and definitely a spring trip for the beauty of so many blossoms that we’re just out of bloom when we went. It’s a definite must see. And bring your walking shoes, so much to explore.

I enjoyed my visit to the gardens. The majority of the paths were shaded and though it is a hot summer, it was a pleasant morning walking among the trees. The bamboo forest was a nice touch and I enjoyed all the bodies of water. It is such a wonderful resource to the Birmingham community for this to be free to the public. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you live locally.

This was one of our favorite highlights from our trip to Alabama. This place is absolutely stunning and amazing. And the best part is it is completely FREE!! Hats off to the city of Birmingham for providing this attraction for the cost of a donation. The grounds were well taken care of and easy to walk. We were a little lost at first then we found our way around. I'd walk this place at least once a week if I lived near it.

🌸🌿 A Stroll Through Alabama's Botanical Garden – A Living Work of Art I had the pleasure of visiting the Botanical Garden in Alabama, and it was nothing short of magical. Every path was lined with vibrant flowers, graceful trees, and the gentle sounds of nature that made the entire experience feel like stepping into a dream. The garden was full of life — butterflies dancing in the air, colorful blooms everywhere you look, and peaceful spots to sit and take it all in. From the well-designed landscapes to the hidden corners of tranquility, it was a place where beauty meets serenity. A true reminder of how powerful and soothing nature can be. I'm so thankful to have experienced such a breathtaking and peaceful place. 🌺🍃✨

Don't get me wrong, I love the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, but the Japanese garden in Birmingham is really something else and incomparable. I didn't add all photos I took because it's just something you have to experience yourself! Don't skip this place, it was my favorite stop in the city.

Very beautiful. Loved walking around, really enjoyed the paths in the trees. Would go again especially in spring to see more flowers/plants in bloom. Loved the bamboo.

What a gem in Birmingham. Opens at 7am and is free to enter, how refreshing. We went on a Sunday around 8am and walked around for 3 hours, didn't see it all. I can't wait to go back and check out their library, maybe take a class, buy some plants, eat at the café.
