This is a french inspired restaurant located inside the Central Station hotel. The decor of the restaurant is chic, with maple colored modern wood seating and moody colors. The menu had multiple food options of coffee/tea, cocktails, small plates and large plates. The price was nominal for the service and food provided. We went there for brunch. The restaurant was empty when we went there but it soon filled over and we could see how popular this place was. We ordered a cappuccino for our coffee. The coffee was aromatic and strong. Since freshly squeezed juice is only available in a few restaurants, we ordered an orange juice and a grape fruit juice. We were expecting the grape fruit juice to be a little sour, but it was sweet and tangy. For the main course we ordered Bishop Omelette, which was fluffy, soft and was filled with soft herbs - it was an absolute delight. We also ordered a fried fish sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful. We would have loved to taste the deserts there but unfortunately we were full with all the food we ate. Loved the place! Good food, beautiful decor and great service!

Bishop Restaurant is a gem in the heart of Memphis, TN that is known for its exceptional culinary offerings and inviting atmosphere. This upscale restaurant has been impressing diners with its delicious Southern-inspired cuisine since it opened its doors in 2018. The restaurant's interior is modern, clean and minimalistic, which sets the mood for an intimate and enjoyable dining experience. The overall vibe is relaxed, yet elegant, and the staff is friendly and attentive to each guest's needs. The menu is an exciting blend of traditional and contemporary Southern cuisine, with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients. All the dishes are thoughtfully created and beautifully presented, making them as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. Some standout favorites include the delectable fried catfish, the juicy pulled pork, and the mouthwatering BBQ ribs. The beverage menu is also impressive, with an extensive wine list that pairs perfectly with the food, and a creative cocktail menu with something for everyone. Guests can choose to either dine in the lovely indoor seating area or alfresco on the gorgeous patio. Overall, Bishop Restaurant is a must-visit destination in Memphis for all foodies and anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience. With its delicious food, lovely ambiance, and exceptional service from the charismatic staff, this restaurant is sure to tantalize your taste buds, captivate your heart, and leave you with a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

We visited on the 17 April at around 8PM. The ambience and service was excellent. The server was attentive and friendly. Kudos to him! The food is great but could be improved! 5 star to that asparagus dish! Will be back to try brunch menus. The drinks were great too!

Google
My SIL and I dined here for a girls night out and it did not disappoint!!! The atmosphere was lovely, the service was FANTASTIC. Reva was our waitress and she was fun and knowledgeable! And, the food. Exquisite. We took Reva’s advice and got a couple of small plates and two entrees. We will be back!!

Google
Gorgeously designed restaurant in a hip part of downtown Memphis. The deco lighting really sets the vibe in this chic eatery with an eclectic menu. We had the escargot, strip steak and flounder. All were expertly prepared and tasted wonderful. The music was at the perfect level for conversation but still enhanced the atmosphere. Our server, Emily, was awesome. She was very helpful with the menu and super attentive. A definite stop when in Grind City.

Google
Bishop is located in the Central Train Station in Memphis. We enjoyed Happy Hour and a light dinner. The drinks were exceptionally made by Sarah. Escargot at the bar was phenomenal. Chris, our server, was very knowledgeable and gracious. The atmosphere, decor, and ambience is outstanding. Well worth a visit, even though it is a tad pricey.

Google
Ambiance and atmosphere was very warm and welcoming! Service was great! Food lacked a lot for the price , portions were reasonable but food was subpar at best....I would not recommend this place if your in Memphis.... For 100+$ meal I expected much more....lamb was over cooked and old ...snapper was good... But definitely had a stinch through the whole restaurant. French onion soup was straight vinegar or old very old and scallop entree was barely a scallop and a half but was good for me. We got there around 445 so we had happy hour cheese board. There was no creativity there. I am a chef. I do not eat out much anymore for this reason. Quantity needs to equal quality. I'm letting you know Chef I would not of sent out that food tonight.

Google
Put this on your list and go. The vibe of this establishment is fantastic. Decor is classic yet elegant. Wait staff was very friendly, food delicious, beers cold, can’t really ask for more. Menu is simple yet allows you to order a small plate to pair another or share.

Yelp
Very chicly designed with beautiful deep, dark blue walls throughout. The menu online is a mirror image of the menu presented when you dine, so I already had in mind what I wanted. While the beignets sounded amazing, I was dining solo and my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I started with the fromage brûlée that was served with thin sourdough slices, followed by the mussels and frites. Happy hour is 4-6 and I was able to take advantage of the river queen and honey sparkle cocktails at a discounted rate. Everything was delicious. Derika was my server and she was knowledgeable, helpful, and professional.

Yelp
Went to Bishop before going to the theater a couple of weeks ago. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. It is located in downtown Memphis in the Central Station Hotel. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. It reminds me of a train station with modern and classic decor. It has many tables and chairs with a nice bar. The inside is cozy and comfortable. We started off with corn and brie beignets. The appetizer melted in our mouths. I had the infamous burger that was delish. It was cooked medium instead of medium rare. It was okay but I would have preferred rare or medium rare. My aunt had the halibut that was cooked to perfection. The fish sat on a bed of bouillabaisse. Her dish was flavorful. We ordered coffee which was very bold. The price was 5.00 per cup. It was a large cup. I thought that was a tad pricey. Service was fast and cordial. I only ate half of my burger but consumed all of my fries. The waitress gave me a few more fries in my to go box. That was such a nice gesture. Our waitress gave us recommendations and was pleasant. We had a great time and will return.

Yelp
Bishop is located inside Hilton. The breakfast we had was our favorite meal during our trip. We had breakfast here twice. The combo breakfast was so delicious. Never knew grits can be so darn tasty! Eggs were perfectly cooked and portions were abundant. Service was excellent and they also had good selections of music playing. Highly highly recommend!!

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent drinks, fantastic service, and a great vibe! Try the burger, tarte flambee, French onion soup, or gaufrettes, but I've been half a dozen times and never been disappointed. The drinks are great and lean towards the classic, simpler style. I don't have a favorite yet; they've all been great! My only note would be that when I had the foie gras, the bacon was so tough I thought it was a piece of plastic or something at first. Not the right kind of crunch. But the flavors of the dish were still great, so I wasn't overly bothered.

Art C.

Yelp
3.5, rounding up because the food is actually quite good here. But first, the elephant in the room. Just really inconsistent service. We went here twice. The first visit our entree came out before our soup or salad... I mean come on. We only went back because we had a coupon. Speaking of which this place is pricey for the size of the entrees... Anywho, the bright spot is always the food. I had a really excellent burger here. Great fish, chicken, etc. entrees. Their food is prepared really, really well. Classic, perfect taste. I mean the chef is excellent. But that service man... Makes you think twice. Can't fault them for their cocktails or ambiance though. It feels like Classic Memphis- in a good way. Now if only they can fix their service...

Kaliaya D.

Yelp
The only thing bad about my experience is that u didn't get to try more. Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded nor alarmingly empty. Had a drink and dessert and both were great! Customer service was perfect. I ate at the bar so there was no wait at all. Ambiance is perfect for all types of outings. They have such a cute, elegant vibe. Can't wait to go back for more!

Yelp
Date of visit: August 9, 2023 Hotel restaurants are often a mixed bag, but we had a very good experience dining for breakfast at Bishop at our one night in Memphis. From the custom dishes (the plates are monogrammed and the coffee cups have a logo hidden at the bottom) to the excellent food, there is much to love about Bishop. We all enjoyed our food; I had eggs with cheese, a biscuit, and--for the first time--grits. Everything was quite good, and I would have been more than happy to return to this restaurant had we planned to spend more time in Memphis. The restaurant has quite a bit of style to it as well, with a classic, midcentury-modern aspect to it and nice touches throughout the restaurant, including clever nooks for seating and comfy chairs. Really the only miss here was the service that wasn't bad, just a bit slow for my tastes. The server was friendly and helpful, but potentially a little overworked.

Yelp
Woke up Christmas morning, completely ill prepared and HUNGRY! Started calling places in downtown Memphis for a resy. Like, WHO does that?!? Living on the edge. The woman answering the phone was super helpful and at 9am they were completely booked. She suggested to come between 11:15-11:30 for 2 seats at the bar!! ON POINT TO the minute. We arrived a little bit early BUT the seats were ready at exactly 11:15 lol.. she's accurate! Ascetically, I really loved the chic farmhouse vibe! The place was pretty clean overall! Staff- everyone very welcoming- Southern Hospitality through and through! Anywho, the food! we had the cinnamon roll to start, everything bagel with steak, and the fish sandwich! The Salty dog with Gin instead of Vodka and mimosa with pineapple juice! I will note that for the breakfast/ brunch menu only contained pork, beef and one fish option. Our food choices were 10/10 on everything!

Yelp
Bishop has been a favorite for years, but our last couple of visits haven't been the same. We always get the Grand Aioli which used to be a beautiful presentation of veggies, shrimp, beef, eggs, with a delicious dip. It no longer comes with shrimp, beef and eggs- just veggies. Not very Grand! So we decided to try something different- the Boucherie Plate. This is an assortment of meats, pickles, mustard, and chicken liver paté. The really weird thing is that you get a pretty big jar of paté, but they don't serve it with bread. Whaaat? We had to buy an order of bread to spread the paté on. The whole thing was delicious but this oversight makes me worry that the owners are cutting corners in a way that will hurt business long term. Service was good, though not quite as polished as it has been in the past. Monty's revenge cocktail was delish!

Joseph B.

Yelp
Burger was delicious. The bacon on the burger was excellent. Only downside was a soggy bottom bun. Truffle fries were perfectly cooked and great seasoning. Interior is beautiful and calming. The large windows let in a lot of natural light, very nice. Staff was very friendly.

Tad D.

Yelp
I used to really like this place but lately the quality has been slipping. I've noticed the same at sister restaurants. If you're going to charge this kind of money the food has to be spot-on. Specifically the hanger steak ordered medium rare was more like medium-well and the fries were cold. I'll come back and try again as I've really enjoyed Bishop and Catherine & Mary in the past so maybe this was a bad night. It's worth another try. But rough night it was.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast, and was not disappointed by the food. The place is very spacious and the indoor decor has a good combination of French and southern tastes. My friends ordered everything bagel and I ordered the French omelette. We also ordered beignets. The beignets were warm, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside, perfectly done. They tasted just as good as the ones I had in NOLA. I had a taste of the everything bagel sandwich. Amazing. Highly recommend, but be sure to come starving because it is heavy. The French omelette was simple, I wish there was more meat and vegetables, but I guess a plain omelette is basically French omelette. Nonetheless, still very tasty and not as heavy as the everything bagel sandwich. There is a huge parking lot behind this restaurant where the movie theater is. Plenty of parking there.

Evelyn L.

Yelp
Nice moody buy calm ambiance. Friendly service. Good food. Direct "mysterious" entrance from Hilton Central Station Curio hotel.

Chelsea S.

Yelp
I'm giving this place three stars because we can't allow ambiance to overshadow the food at a "fine dining" restaurant. The place is stunning and even offers a private dining experience which was really nice for our intimate party visiting memphis (some for the first time). The service was quite generous, kind and efficient. However, the food was meh at best. When my entree came out, the entire table was disappointed. One of the guests said it appeared to be cafeteria food & i couldn't agree more. I ordered the flounder which was served over sweet mash & a bed of green peas & chopped asparagus. It was under seasoned and underwhelming. The dessert we ordered was decent. Their apps were prob the best food we had there. They have this wonderful veggie plate & oysters that are pretty good.

Yelp
I treated my husband to an early Fathers Day brunch ! Reasons to go: Great brunch items ranging from omelets, biscuit and steak and eggs Ambiance Cocktails Great customer service! Shout out to Emory and the hostess for taking great care of us The grapefruit bur-lee with a French 75 was the perfect combination! My only complaint was the eggs ..I had to add lots of salt and pepper to season them

Tiffany B.

Yelp
My seven year anniversary is today and I wanted to take my fiancé out for a special meal since we are traveling and unfortunately the service was not great. Got the wrong drink after 15 minutes of waiting and then I had to wait even longer since they had to replace it. (This is wine not a specialty cocktail and my fiancé got a Diet Coke) The food was good but my Pot de crème had no toffee and no banana crisps. Won't be back and I wanted to goto brunch there tomorrow I love taking photos of the food but I was already sad about everything..No photos necessary

Jason H.

Yelp
Amazing - Simple elegant meal. Wait staff extremely friendly and efficient. Decor is classic modern with nods to industrial loft. Would return again!

Jason D.

Yelp
You know when you hear about a place and you really want to try it? But then you have your go to places and you don't really want to risk being disappointed so you stick with what you know! Well Bishop has been on my radar a minute but I just have not been in. Today was the day. I went in. Nice spot. Great location. Service was great. The food! The food! Let me help you out. Just go ahead and get in there. I am almost tempted to put my cash app in here for you to tip me after this review. But anyway you can just like my review and follow for more tips.

Ava L.

Yelp
This restaurant is sophisticated, tasty, and hospitable. While the menu is more limited than classic breakfast places, all the food items on the menu are to perfection. The modern twist on classics will definitely make breakfast delicious and interesting. The staff was perfect, always checking on us and always happy to help us. The manager at the end of our meal kindly asked us how our meal was and tended to the customers herself. This restaurant was perfect, not to mention the atmosphere! It had a modern vibe with beautiful decorations and definitely helped developed the fantastic meal. Thank you so much! It was fantastic.

Kera W.

Yelp
Great evening with colleagues!! We were in a private room. Victoria managed our table!! Thank you!! We started with cocktails ranging from bourbons to martinis to a gin and tonic . . . We ordered the halibut, filet, scallops, lentils, and the bishop burger . . . We ordered a second round including a nice red blend . . . And for dessert we got the profiteroles. I love Bishop!!! I highly recommend for any and all occasions!!!

Kandis B.

Yelp
We have been for dinner we many times and lunch a few. The bone marrow was a hit for my husband. Lunch cheeseburger is huge and amazingly tasty along with almost every item on the menu. Service is always soon on and we enjoy the setting.

Lisa V.

Yelp
this place is definitely worth a visit for dinner! we got there super early n the host was veryyy kind to let us do happy hour and even let us seat early too. we are a table of 6. the chicken liver parfait is what made me make a reservation. sounded so yum. both the appetizers and dinner plates were sooo good. some people we were with were picky but after trying some things were sold on this place! GET - chicken liver mousse (never take this off the menu!) - popovers with bone marrow butter - petit aioli (because you need veggies) - beef bourguigon - pork osso - duck confit

Josie G.

Yelp
My friend and I went here before a show at the Orpheum. We made reservations and they made us feel very special! Our server was incredibly knowledgeable on the food and the wine. The restaurant itself is beautiful and we had a great time watching Main Street as we ate. All the food was ordered was excellent - the fromage and bread, the ham plate, the scallops, and the country fried escargot. We ended with a delicious creme brulee. Of course, it's a bit pricey, but if you're looking for a treat, this is great!

Wil J F.

Yelp
I was truly looking forward to eating here and was highly disappointed. We sat at bar since wait time was 20 minutes but that was BIG mistake!! The bartender was by himself and made it clear it may take a while. He was nice guy and apologetic so cool. We ordered pineapple mimosas they took a while but was worth the wait. The breakfast on the other hand took nearly an hour and was not good!! I asked for my eggs to be scrambled lightly and made a point to emphasize that but they came out harder than a rock. The biscuit was hard and dry and the grits cold. I asked for new eggs but never received them.... Update: Upon request of our bill the lady who assisted me I believe the new manager but can't remember her name. She was very receptive of my feedback and graciously removed the charge for my breakfast. She was really nice and like I said so was the bartender. I'll give then another chance but next time for dinner because their burgers look amazing and the lady sitting next to us said it was delicious.

Bonita L.

Yelp
The service was pretty slow from the start. We waited about 5 mins before even being acknowledge at the waiter station. The ambiance was very pleasant and nice. The food was not so tasty. I had to send the escargot back to the kitchen for warming because it was cold upon receiving. Evening after reheating the taste and texture was awful. The omelette was very bland and not desirable . I did enjoy beignets. Overall, I don't think we'll be returning.

John K.

Yelp
Space looks great and the menu looks well put together but the kitchen needs help. Our French Onion Soup came luke warm. I informed our waitress and the manager came out and ask us if we got "cold soup?" She offered to heat it up for us, which was nice of her. The Salad Maison was all frisée and the dressing did not help with the bitterness of the salad. The Foie gras was excellent though and you can't go wrong with a can of Mussels from Spain. I would not recommend though. Management and kitchen needs help. Our waitress was very nice but she needed to go find her notes when we asked a question about a particular dish on the menu. I could see myself doing the same though

Lena M.

Yelp
I had Steak scallops w potatoes and broccoli over a cauliflower blend that was amazing well balanced meal great quantity awesome seasonings that weren't overpowering. this was the chefs offering for the evening. The service was attentive not overbearing and the price point was $$ but good for what was offered.

Apples K.

Yelp
Came for the croque Madame to find out they no longer put the béchamel sauce on it. Well that is not a croque Madame, it's an egg and cheese sandwich. I can make that myself. I asked about it and they said they changed the recipe. That would be like getting pizza and then telling you we no longer put any sauce on the pizza. Just toppings. Anyway, this was a disappointing experience. The lady looked at me like I had three heads when she finally came back by our table.

Chris J.

Yelp
Bishop is a very cool restaurant, located in the hip Central Hotel on Main Street. The restaurant like the hotel, embodies the soul of Memphis with images of Memphis icons like Isaac Hayes, decorating the hotel area. I highly recommend Bishop for an awesome dining experience.

Nancy E.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I was there but I hope to return again soon. I loved their loaf and so many of their foods that the make of Great British Baking show but I've never tried. Wonderful ambience. A rare European flair to be found in the American south.

Meghan S.

Yelp
Don't you love it when you have a spot bookmarked for so long, and you are truly excited about it----then your reservation day comes and BOOM, the experience exceeds your expectations? If that's not a fairy tale ending, I don't know what is. Bishop is my prince charming! The décor is gorgeous and lavish, but not over the top; the service was pretty slow--although that was to be expected (right in the middle of the Memphis in May music festival). The food was so eclectic, yet it was executed to the highest degree. The escargot was sensational--comes with about 12 little snails, but I could've easily eaten double. And that garlic butter sauce, holy cow. Dipping that bread in that butter ought to be a felony. There's no other way to explain it---just delicious. The cocktails were nothing to write home about---except that shamrock drink they offer during brunch... GET THAT! Tastes like the McDonald's milkshake with a slight kick. And that burger---oh that damn burger. I'm a Texas girl, so I know good beef. Memphis took me back home with this one---the meat, the cheese, the bacon; everything a burger should be. The fish sandwich met my expectations, but certainly didn't have me dancing a jig like that burger, escargot and shamrock cocktail. I'll be back for THAT trifecta. Parking is a little crazy, but there's free parking above the hotel for 2 hours. Reservations are highly encouraged! When I'm back in town, I'll visit again for dinner; that duck dish has my name written all over it.

John S.

Yelp
Bishop has been on my Memphis restaurant bucket list ever since it opened in late 2019. Namely, I was most excited about the highly acclaimed Bishop Burger. But first, I started with the delicious French onion soup. The beefy, onion-filled soup was topped with a thick layer of gooey gruyere cheese with chunks of sourdough bread peaking through the cheese like icebergs in the ocean. The onion flavor was present yet not overpowering. Beware, it is served piping hot with the heat encased by the layer of cheese. I had to restrain myself from picking up and tipping the bowl to enjoy the remaining soup that remained at the bottom. I easily could have polished off a bowl twice its size. The main attraction was of course the Bishop Burger. I've had many Memphis burgers over the years (too many to count), and this was one of if not the best. The execution was perfect from top to bottom. Starting with the bun, the bread was soft and fluffy yet sturdy enough to hold the contents of the burger. The two beef patties were cooked and seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. The generous helping of mild cheddar added cheesy notes notes to each bite, as did the creamy, tangy combination of b1 sauce (thousand island-like burger sauce) and tomato aioli. The juice from the burger left a pool of au jus-like liquid under the burger that added even more flavor to the sandwich. Although the menu states that it's a fork-and-knife operation, I braved the burger with my hands -- I don't think I embarrassed myself too badly. It was a truly spectacular creation. The side of fries were fairly average -- crispy, salty and a tad greasy. But they did the job. The house ketchup on the side enhanced the flavor with a slightly sweet, tangy tomato zing. Though I was more than satisfied after the soup and burger, I couldn't leave without dessert. I was slightly overwhelmed by the dessert menu -- there were so many delicious sweets to choose from. I eventually decided on the profiteroles. The cream puff-like sandwiches delicious vanilla gelato. The dish was drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces, making for a truly decadent plate. The sprinkling of almonds and dusting of powdered sugar made every bite even tastier. Everyone in our party ordered desserts, and I don't think anyone was disappointed. I also highly recommend a cup of coffee, which is from the local Vice and Virtue down just down the street. It was a great way to end a great meal. The service was also fantastic, which made for an even more enjoyable meal. I can't wait to return to Bishop. The brunch menu looks amazing.

Jason H.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was a tab but slow. Overall. Clean. Everyone was polite. Great scenery.

Dennis S.

Yelp
It's an attractive space, and couldn't be any more convenient when you're staying at Central Station Hotel. The bar is a definite step down from 8 and Sand; enjoy your pre-dinner cocktails there, and then come over to Bishop for dinner. At the wait staff's recommendation, we tried the Fromage Brulee as our shared starter. Not a dish I was familiar with, remarkably light for a cheese based course, custardy in texture and served with toast on the side to spread it on. Found it quite tasty. Unfortunately, the Fromage Brulee was the last positive thing about the experience. Salad and soup came out with the starter, so much for their ability to time courses. I tried the French Onion and it was completely tasteless. Honestly, if they'd cracked open a Swanson's beef broth can it would have been much better. Tried adding some salt but it didn't help much, it was just a bland presentation. Then the wait. A full hour before the main, Beef Bourguignon, arrived. The waitress repeatedly stopped by to apologize, and to let us know it was "almost ready". We heard her giving similar apologies to other tables. After a while, she seemed to rush by or take a different route so she wasn't having to pass by our table as much. What was particularly grating was the there's little serving prep work in a restaurant Beef Bourguignon. The large chunk of beef that we finally got was excellently cooked, clearly long and slow, as it should have been to produce a falling apart cut. The gravy and veggies require a similarly long cook to mellow and bring the flavors together. It's a dish that can be heated and plated by a well run restaurant in minutes. Perhaps they had the staffing shortage that many other places have seen, but none was mentioned. Between the unreasonable wait, the bland soup, and the lack of attention to timing courses, I would assume the problem is with the head chef. I'd recommend avoiding Bishop until you've seen indication in future reviews that the kitchen has gotten their rhythm back.

Yelp
Came here for brunch for my birthday and it was outstanding. The cinnamon roll was delicious. The steak in the everything bagel, as well as the bagel itself had so much flavor. My husband got the croque madame and also really enjoyed it. The fries are top notch! We haven't been here for dinner but will definitely come back for brunch!

Ken K.

Yelp
I've been here a few times for brunch in the weekend and enjoyed it. Today I decided to bring a customer here for a business lunch on a regular weekday. We were both surprised that the menu was the brunch menu ... mostly breakfast items. They did have the burger and the fish sand which in the menu but it was not a great business lunch menu at all. I would never come back here for a regular lunch ... only breakfast / brunch .... Or maybe dinner.... They were also out of the French onion soup which was a bummer. My client was a little surprised that I had pick this place . On a positive note , the service was good, friendly and the atmosphere is great

A S.

Yelp
We had reservations for 7PM and was seated fine. However, we waited 3 hours to eat and every table after us received their food. Management was not accommodating, showed no empathy about the situation, and mixed our orders up. Either the steak was rare, lamb was not how we asked for it to be cooked , they offered salty fries. I love majority of my experiences, but today was not Bishop's day. Disappointed Memphian

Yelp
Lovely brunch with some friends here on a Saturday! We had a reservation, but it wasn't too busy when we visited. What we got: - a dozen oysters: small-to-medium sized fresh oysters, comes with horseradish crème fraiche and verjus leek mignonette. We asked for cocktail sauce, too, which they whipped up for us pretty quickly. Our entrees came out before our oysters, so they took it off of our check, which we highly appreciated! Shows amazing hospitality and customer service! - earl grey: They brew it in a personal teapot so you can pour it at your own leisure. - egg omelette (fine herb, hashbrowns, salad): Omelette was super fluffy, light in taste, Comes with some greens and a crispily-done hashbrown. Definitely goes well with some ketchup! - bishop burger (double patty, bacon, cheddar, b1 sauce, tomato aïoli, frites): I had a bite of this delicious burger! I'm not a huge fan of burgers, but this one is hella good. Very juicy, flavorful, melts in your mouth. - fish sandwich (dill aïoli, pickles, watermelon radish, lettuce, frites): Similar to a filet-o-fish, but less breaded fish. - everything bagel (steak, caramelized onion, american cheese, hashbrowns, scrambled egg): Definitely an interesting presentation, almost artistic! Lots of things all in one! Our waitress seemed to forget about us a few times, but we had the GM's checking in on us between our waitress's visits, so we were very well taken care of. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience! On my next trip to Memphis, I'd love to try out some items on the dinner menu here!

Yelp
This place may be one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I've been all around the world, tried all kinds of restaurants and this restaurant had so much flavor. I totally recommend the grand aioli, it was nothing I had ever tried before. The people were nice and sweet it had a very nice and good presence! TOTALLY recommend!!!!!

Yelp
On Wednesday, February 9th, 2022, around 8pm I dined at this restaurant. The wait staff was excellent. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning. I suspect that the poisoning came from the oysters. I became and am still very sick. After leaving the hotel to receive medical treatment I contacted both the front desk and Bishop's management. At first I was insulted when it was insinuated that I only complained because I didn't want to settle my room charges. Then the narrative changed to "well, eating oysters is risky." Please see the provided screenshot. I don't know if the management of Bishop or the creators/proprietors read these reviews. I hope so. Shame on you and fix yourself.

Yelp
Kind of a hotel restaurant when you really don't know where to go or just checked in. Last resort type situation there.

Yelp
We came here for date night! My hubby and I love trying new local places. I would start by saying that the place is very visually appealing. It really feels like your in a corner restaurant in Paris. (I've been) Is very comfortable, sensual and classy without feeling ostentation. The minimalist decor and atmosphere is an experience on itself. The staff was attentive and our waiter was really knowledgeable of all items and help with recommendations. My better half and I decided to tried most items on the appetizer menu and some small plates too. The drinks were really great. With a spunk of flavor and strength. The food was really good. My hubby had pate. I particularly don't eat pâté for sensible reasons, but my husband liked it a lot. Said it reminded him of his childhood. We had "tin fish". Loved it. Again, brought memories of our time in the Mediterranean. Over all, it was a great experience!! But, it really was pricey. Take that in mind if you are thinking on visiting this restaurant. Hence, why only give them 4 starts. Too pricey for appetizers and drinks. More expensive than Porch & Parlor. (But to this day, Porch & Parlor ranks as my number 1 in Memphis)

Yelp
I highly recommend Bishop for breakfast if you're in downtown Memphis! Everything we got on the breakfast menu was delicious and they serve breakfast/lunch 5 days a week until 2:00pm. We ordered two biscuit sandwiches and the biscuits were light and fluffy. I ordered the fried chicken biscuit and the chicken was crispy and came with a spiced honey sauce. They have a full bar as well and a selection of breakfast cocktails if you're interested in drinking. The interior is plush and elegant and there are different seating areas to choose from. This is a great spot to go if you want an elegant breakfast experience!

Yelp
This place gets 5-stars for everything: 1) food (omg the biscuits and gravy all made in house including grinding their own sausage...so good); 2) ambiance (perfectly bougie and moody in all the right ways); and 3) service (can I give 6 stars, or 20?). One employee, Christie Johnson, is now my favorite person on planet earth. After my great breakfast, I accidentally left a bag behind that I needed for work (it had everything in it I needed for a big talk at U Memphis that day)...I called the restaurant when I realized I had left it, and I was trying to think of the best way to get the bag quickly (pay a courier? Send it in an Uber ride?). Christie said she remembered me from that morning and said she would hand deliver my bag when her shift ended. First, what angel of a human offers this?! Second, the university campus is a good 25-min drive from the restaurant, so she really went out of her way to drive across town. Christie saved the day for me, saved my presentation, and then even followed up and asked how the talk went. I'm still blown away. Now the Bishop isn't just a good meal for me, it's a place I can't wait to come back to again and again. Thank you, Christie!!!

Yelp
Went for dinner. Food was very mediocre, which made the cost seem unjustified. We encountered several service errors. Ambiance and decor were the only decent parts of our dinner. Very disappointed.

Yelp
New place but they are damn close to being perfect. Chef Justin and Ellen our waitress were phenomenal. Great menu. Liver patte and Bone Marrow butter were the leaders in the club house. And this is gonna sound weird but get the damn burger and share with your table....you wont be sad.

Yelp
Second visit on Downtown Dining week. Did not let me down. Shout out to McKenzie our waitress for doing an exceptional job! Our drinks were great and we even had mocktails made for my pregnant daughter. Honey let me talk about their bishop burger , yes and amen. Escargot were nice and buttery accompanied with great crusty bread and butter. The Grand Aoili is my favorite appetizer chocked full of heirloom veggies, proteins of shrimp, roast and egg with a creamy dip.

Yelp
@bishopmemphis Uh Ok! I like having brunch, but now I LOVE BRUNCH! the French style brunch is a style for me! This Memphis restaurant is on the mark! Great menu options for brunch & dinner. The Downtown atmosphere always has cool vibes. The parking wasn't bad at all. I choose the "Butcher's Breakfast, perfectly cooked scramble eggs, creamy grits, fresh turkey sausage and a delicious butter biscuit Awesome service and friendly staff! #Letsgettoeatin
