I revisit this place for dine out festival. I had good memory with tasting menu and their service. The environment is very cozy and warm. Also the service was very kind and professional. However, the food was quite blend and I am not sure what they are represent their menu. Appetizer was very disappointed. Dish was beautiful but no taste. Main dish was nothing special except the how they cook the lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked but other ingredients are not harmonized enough with lamb. I bet desert is most delicious dish in the course. Well, based on other good famous restaurants and their performance, I will give bishop as 2.5 stars if possible.

First time being at the restaurant and food is impressive. Service is 10/10, the steak tartare and both dessert are great. I had the roasted duck breast and I love it. The duck breast is very soft and moist and the fat of the duck gives you a concentrated taste of the duck. The only disappointment is the rack of lamb that my fiancé ordered. The outer layer of the lamb rack has a bitter taste that overtakes the lamb. But overall I'd give 8/10 and will definitely come back.

I come here at least once a year and it seems to continually out do itself every time. Came for dine out and will be back for Valentine's Day next month. With John's personal touch of tirelessly greeting guests at their table, and the extremely well put together menu. There's no wondering why this restaurant is one of the best fine dining establishments in town.
The Uni Panna Cotta was one of the most well put together dish I've had anywhere. I've had lamb made several different ways here before and never was there a disappointment. Muscles, fresh and with the perfect cook and flavor. Then came dessert.... The chocolate tart was rich and decadent as expected, but this paled in comparison to the preserve berries... The mix of textures combined along with the cold sorbet and slightly warm compote, made this playful little dessert dish a berry lover out of me!

Came here for dine out, the while some of the dishes on the menu we're odd (i suspect due to dine out), the ingredients were of fresh and of high quality.
Oysters were fresh and decently sized, Lamb was cooked perfectly, plates were all perfectly presented and served.
Intimate and really well kept decor, you'd expect nothing less from a fancier place.
Service was really superior from our waiting staff to the greeter. Poor dude was literally standing by the door anticipating to hold the door for me until i told him it was okay because my wife was going to take a while.
Would come back for regular service

One of my favourite restaurants and let’s just say there is no other like Bishop’s. My friend and I were sad when we found out Bishop’s was going to shut its door last August, but I guess Covid has allow them to remain open and I’m so happy. This year, we been back there twice, even brought our friends there and each time the food never disappoints! You can’t go wrong with anything that is on the menu. If you have never been here, it’s a must because you will absolutely love this place!!!
Also, John always give that personal touch - till this day he goes around and say hi to each table and I think that’s just incredible. All the staff there were warm and amazing!

Bishop’s is the restaurant to celebrate special events in a romantic setting. The food was exquisite and beautifully plated. The service was impeccable with multiple staff ensuring our dining experience was perfect. The amuse bouche was a nice touch. The Dungeness Crab and Sockeye Salmon Cake was yummy as it was moist with forward crab and salmon taste. If you enjoy fish protein you won’t be disappointed with Pan Roasted Halibut Fillet. I enjoyed the pistachio sauce and spring vegetables with the halibut. Roasted Duck Breast was rich and decadent. We thoroughly enjoyed dining in at Bishop’s Restaurant.

One of the BEST dinners I have ever had! Loved practically every bite of the entire meal and just excellent service from every single member of their staff. Well worth the $55/person set menu price that included appetizer, entree, and dessert - as well as wonderful bread with truffle butter and an amuse bouche - we each received a clam with garlic cream sauce.
The scallops as an appetizer were simply divine... I can eat at least a dozen of these but the 3 large plump scallops we got were a great portion size. Ahi Tuna carpaccio was fresh, light, and so refreshing.
We choose the Lamb Loin and Sea Bass as our entrees. Both wonderfully delicious - every component of the dish was perfectly seasoned.
I was already so satisfied at that point of our dinner that I didn't really need dessert. They were interesting but not the highlights for me.
Overall, an amazing dinner! Highly recommend it! I can't wait to go back again :)

First dining experience since COVID and what a memorable night. I haven't been back here in a while and it was well worth it. A Vancouver culinary institution, it's sad to see it close down soon. Chef John Bishop, the godfather of Vancouver cuisine who trained some of the best chefs in the city, was in that night and as always, a very gracious host. Food itself was outstanding, and the "covid service" was welcoming and warm, masks and all.
