Booked Christmas package for a family bonding and get away. Couldn't recommend it more! Unbelievable experience, amazing staff. Beautiful roomy rooms for the entire family and incredible bathrooms. Really made us feel at home and especially our hound. He had his own bed, stocking, gift box, bowls and towels. Set in the countryside but not too far away from civilisation. Incredible spa and pools. All made use of the facilities.

We had such a special time celebrating my mum’s birthday as a family. The food was absolutely stunning. We stayed for two nights and ate at the hotel. The whole time food was consistently great and the service also. We spent our Saturday in the spa they kindly accommodated us as we had lots of appointments throughout the day. All the spa ladies were brilliant and I really enjoyed my massage however I had the most perfect pedicure I’ve ever had from Linda. Linda made my whole families spa experience very special. Would recommend a stay here to anyone.

We stayed for four nights in a junior suite in the main house. We also had our dog with us who was made superbly welcome from the staff. ||The staff at Bishopstrow are amazing. They all seem to thrive on excellence in customer service and always have time to help and chat. It seemed like nothing was too much trouble for them. Shout out to Harry, Cosmo, Gemma, Sarah and the fabulous lady bar manager who went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. ||The dog agility area was great fun and the walks directly from the hotel are excellent.||Our room was wonderful and quirky- we were on the top floor of the main house- just lovely.||

Beautiful location. But initially they couldn't find our booking for a spa day. When they did find it they had to move things around to try to accommodate us. We enjoyed the outside spa but waited a long time for our mud ritual treatment. When it was finally ready, a rather off-hand assistant showed us into our room, gave us a very small tray of scrubs and mud - and explained it was a no-therapist session. This had not been clear at time of booking. We weren't happy and politely made that clear. Assistant just shrugged and left! We made the best of it. The other facilities were quite good. The day was saved by an absolutely delicious lunch, great restaurant staff and service. And the very nice blonde woman who helped sort out the spa booking and cared about getting it right. But as for the other spa personnel, the standard was poor. Generally aloof and unhelpful and no one seemed to be in charge or care very much.

I was very disappointed and upset today with the way I was treated. I have an annual membership which gives access to the Spa and discount on food in the hotel. I attend Spa weekly with my carer. Part of the Spa experience we go into yhe hotel for a pot of tea and food. After paying for a carer to sit with my mum so I could have and sfternoon of relaxation we were told we were not allow to go into the hotel from today the 30th December for the next four days. It was closed to non residents. We were not told about this and felt shunned and not valued as a member. The annual membership is costly but worth it. The management appear to value the custom of hotel guests staying briefly over the next four days rather than members/regular customers who spend their money on a weekly basis at the hotel. This attitude towards us spoilt an afternoon of relaxation I was looking forward to since before Christmas. It would have been nice to have had a little time and space put aside for regular clients rather than to make us feel shunned and not valued or to have been given notice so we could have attended on a different day.

There’s a reason Bishopstrow gets such glowing reviews: it’s a lovely place with great facilities, fantastic food and attentive staff. Having spent many happy hours there in the past, it was the obvious choice when it came to booking somewhere to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It’s not the kind of place you can afford to visit regularly, so I was very pleased when I found a voucher for a spa experience with lunch and full use of the facilities. It wasn’t cheap, but my wife was very happy and we looked forward to booking our special day. Anyone with kids and a busy job will understand that it’s sometimes difficult to find the time to take a day to yourself, and so the weeks went by until one day I checked the voucher and discovered it had expired. I should have checked the date much earlier, and although I was frustrated with myself, I was confident that Bishopstrow could help and, even if the specific terms of the original voucher couldn’t be honoured, I was hopeful at least that a compromise could be reached whereby I could rebook something with the credit, or perhaps receive a partial refund. Sadly, the treatment we received from Bishopstrow, especially the General Manager, was extremely disappointing. He was breathtakingly dismissive of the situation. Even though I held my hands up and took responsibility for the error (and explained that I understood if the voucher itself could no longer be honoured) he refused to help, eventually (after some pleading on my part) offering us a paltry 10% discount on our next booking. He was happy for a loyal Bishopstrow customer to lose hundreds of pounds of hard-earned money over what was essentially an honest mistake. I didn’t expect such mercenary, disdainful treatment from Bishopstrow. Truly disappointing. Fortunately, there are plenty of other excellent spa hotels in the local area to choose from.

Went here after a review in The Times newspaper, very dog friendly, beautiful grounds for dogs, with its own herb, vegetable garden. Spa facilities are great indoors pool, sauna and jacuzzi and outside hotub, jacuzzi and mini sauna. Room was fantastic with an outside court area for last or morning wee for my dog. The dog had his own room with dog bed and bowl provided with a welcome dog treat box. Dog was very welcome everywhere except the spa area(understandable) Food was plentiful and incredible. Can't wait to go back again. Staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't to do for us.

A one night stay last weekend. Lovely hotel, easy walking from the doorstop, friendly welcoming staff, good food. We had room 6. Large, impressive but incredibly noisy from the kitchen vents. These were right outside the window and made the bathroom fairly unpleasant to be in. A relaxing bath would have been impossible. They turned off around 10:30 but unfortunately the room was also above a very noisy boiler which remained on all night. Also felt vibrating through the bed. It was a shame as everything else was great. Very soundproofed from the rest of the hotel internally. I would recommend the hotel but definitely not room 6!!

Went here over Christmas time and loved it! Everything was brilliant. The staff were lovely and the room was incredible. Very dog friendly and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Well, reception was not here at check-in. No one has helped at the bar. The first person to be helped after being here for 20 minutes is another couple that just walked up.
