Audibert’s Bistreaux

It seems another underwhelming incarnation has been installed in old town. One might think a new restaurant in the Slidell area would be delivering something fresh and exiting to compete with an already impressive array of eateries. When in reality what is provided is salty, stale, and gritty edible matter, from an otherwise derivative menu. Where every dish is either served on rice or drowned in sauce. My hopes are not higher for the most recent iteration of the little restaurant that could. As the dishes were as overpriced as the art on the walls. The previous owner had great food, the one before had great drinks, while this one has neither. While the service was top notch I must admit. The conflicting atmosphere and inedible menu was disappointing at best. I do however look forward to the next installment of this old town location. We'll see what happens next for the corner restaurant still trying to find its identity in this assiduous neighborhood scene. At least throw out the expired ahi that is comparable to dog food and choose better music than beaten to death 80's classics. If this place lasts 6 months it would surprise me.

Crab cake stack was great and the grilled redfish over Gouda grits with grilled shrimp in Tasso sauce with grilled peppers and onions…. Oh dear lord was this good! Service was amazing and outdoor dining available which I love. Only suggestion would be to have some light music playing outdoors. Sorry forgot to take a picture until the food was almost devoured! Nice skated martinis as well.(This review is coming up under the new owner this review was for the previous owner. I have been there since and sadly disappointed.)

My group had Fried green tomatoes, side salad, wedge salad, burger, Miso salmon, bacon wrapped fillet and banana bread pudding. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! I didn't catch out servers name but she was great. Also, Katherine stopped by and insured our dinner was fabulous. Katherine is such a ray of sunshine! There are also many items on the menu I am excited to try.

I finally made it to Audibert's and I really loved it. I was greeted by the Manager and hostess, Katherine and she rolled out the red carpet for a fantastic dining experience! The bar service was fantastic and the cocktail I had was creative and delicious! Try the crawfish queso for an appetizer- yummy! I had a classic shrimp and grits with redfish added and it was anything but "typical". I loved every bite! The finale- banana bread pudding! This was a 10 out of 10! If you want a classy, but relaxed dining experience with a cool vibe give it a try! Support Slidell's new businesses so the residents have more variety and fun dining experiences!

So as you can see I do reviews from all over the world. I must say the spicy spaghetti i had on 12/27 and BBQ shrimp wss excellent. Everything my friends has from the streak to the shrimp and grits were amazing. So I came back 12/28. The crab cakes and french toast we excellent. The Bananas foster dip for brunch was delicious! All I can say is give it a try! Drinks can improve but we as a people can too! Thanks for your menu. We can come here and not New Orleans all the time. Service is great too!

The French fries are simply to die for (personality. I'm not a fan of French fries). The steak was cooked perfectly, really good . The crab cakes were good also, but the green tomatoes could have used a little more seasoning. The mac and cheese it was not up to par. The only thing that I'd give a sub .500 grade to. Ms. Nikki was amazing. Definitely go see her. While I was there, I overheard management talking about changing foods on customers, not liking what they had. I'm looking forward to trying again and that gave me a great appreciation for the restaurant.

I just want to say, for a secluded town this restaurant knows what they're doing. I had the grilled red fish and it was one of the best dishes I've had in a while. The rice had so much flavor, the shrimp was seasoned so well, the grits were delicious and the fish was amazing. I'm so glad I stopped here. The town is very charming and the restaurant is beautiful.

What an awesome little place. The barkeep was also the owner and she treated me like family. After having an awesome shrimp and grits, they treated me to a free dessert of the banana bread pudding. The main dish was great. Perfectly cooked, good flavor and definitely the best grits I’ve had. Not to mention they had live music and good people

Sangria was really yummy and not too sweet!! The boldly marys and french toast were good too. Came with a big party and our waitress did wonderful job

The food looked good but lacked flavor, it wasn't anything to rave about. The server we had was nice. But far as the food it definitely needs more flavor & move into the cooking.

Great service awesome food, and great atmosphere. I recommend this place to anybody who would like to eat there if your musician don't play here if you don't play outside

Friendly staff and amazing food! Really cool patio with a few TV's to watch the game. There's also an event space with a huge projector screen. A great new concept with a great menu in Olde Towne Slidell.

I decided to head back to Slidell and check out 55 a fairly new restaurant in the heart of Old Towne . A cute spot serving Southern dishes with great Indoor and Outdoor spaces. If you are lucky you can catch a cool band playing outside as well! For tammany taste they have an amazing menu for $50/couple. One shared appetizer, one shared dessert, and an entree for each and the portions are generous! Debris Fries Shrimp and Grits Redfish and Grits Banana Foster Beignets

Went there by accident (trying to get to another place for Sunday brunch but the street was closed for a car show) so we got out and starting walking and passed by this place and read the outdoor menu. We went in because of the $15 bottomless mimosas, but was pleasantly surprised by the food and atmosphere (and price). We will be going back.

Food was awesome! Atmosphere was cute and comfortable. The owner was very nice and welcoming. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. Going back for lunch today.

The Gouda grits needed salt and pepper. The food was cold once it got to the table. The blackberry beignets were delicious and hot. The wait staff is sometimey at best. Others got prompt service and we did not, blame Shay!

**NEW Restaurant Alert** What a nice surprise. It's definitely a hidden gem. My husband and I stumbled upon this place on our first date day in forever. We took in a moving and then headed to Old Town to see if there was anything we wanted. While driving through, we saw the sign for this place. I immediately googled it, looked at the pictures, the menu, and said, "Let's try it." So glad we did. SUNDAY BRUNCH!!! Greeting and Ambiance These are the only reasons I didn't give it 5 stars. We weren't greeted upon entering and had to ask if we just seat ourselves to the bar tender, and she said yes. We chose a high top table. There were 3 wooden high tops and about 5 or - seater tables and a bar with seating. I could not quite put my finger on the anesthetic they were going for, but it was clean and not a deal breaker for us. Drinks They have a full bar and have a cool selection of Mules (Tennesee, Mexican, Irish..etc). They were deletions and come in these mule cups that are a pretty good size. Food Here is where the drooling begins ! For an appetizer, we got their Bananas Foster Beignets...the syrup was so good I wanted to lick the plate. The Beignets were a great density and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Redfish and Grits... I did try and get it blackened, but it came out fried. I'm secretly glad it came out wrong. It also came with shrimp, which I didn't realize, so it was a pleasant surprise. The crispy crust was flavorful and added great contrast to the gouda corn grits. Everything was so balanced and delicious!!! My husband git the shrimp ang grits... he inhaled it. Lastly, we added the loaded home fries. Potatoes were cooked perfectly, as was the bacon. Crispy with the cheddar cheese melted on top with a chive garnish. We definitely couldn't eat all of the food we ordered, but it was all amazing! At the end of the meal, one of the partners checked on our table, and we learned that they had just opened a few weeks earlier, and then he took me on a tour of the place. They have a very cute back patio. Large fans and a dedicated bar. They also have a private event space. Insane how big this place actually was. Highly recommended!!!

My husband and I had been looking forward to trying this place. Had heard great things and saw the reviews. We planned to come out for our anniversary and try their "brunch". The site states they open at 8 on Saturdays so we figured 10:15 am would be a great time to go. We showed up and the place was locked up. The "OPEN" light was lit up in the window and the lights were on inside, but the door was bolted shut. We tried calling and got no answer. Not even a recording about hours or anyt AVOID this place. Especially if you are hoping to have a special meal with your spouse -

The food was delicious! The people were very nice and accommodating! We will definitely go back!

"Welcome to Gouda-palooza, where apparently cheese is a personality trait! FIVE different gouda dishes? Is this a restaurant or some kind of dairy fever dream? The veal was about as tender as my old baseball glove and had all the flavor of plain toast. And that "fancy" flatbread pizza? Let's just say the cafeteria lady at my old high school is feeling pretty smug right now. Hard pass on ever coming back to this cheese-obsessed wonderland."

The people here are the kindest and the food was yummy too. We sat outside and it was really quiet so they tried to turn on the tv for us. It didn't work but without us asking they found another way to play music for us. Everyone was chatting with us as well. We felt so welcome and taken care of :) !

This is the latest iteration of a restaurant/bar at this location. I really want wanted to like it but unfortunately there seems to be little eye for detail on their operation. I would say the service was good, but the food was mediocre at best, and the drinks were atrocious! I don't think the bartenders had any type of training or awareness of how to make a drink properly. Please take time to fine tune some items or will be looking at the next iteration soon !

This is my second time coming here. The first trip, the waitress completely forgot my food, the manager did bring me a to go plate with my order, so that was fine. Figured we would give it another try, never again. Spinach dip was mediocre, ordered the fried shrimp platter, didn't want the fish. Waitress brings out the food, and my husband inquires about the hush puppies. She said it didn't come with that, but would ask if they'd make some, and they did. But you knew for a fact, the menu said otherwise. Baked Mac, is not at all baked. Red wine is served cold. I think this place has a lot of potential, but the service (just speaking of the waitresses we have had), and the food could be a tad better.

Well, I have to say the seafood plater and some of the app were great. Our server was excellent. This Charcuterie Board was very very disappointing. I could have done better from Walmart. The price at $27 was crazy for bananas, limes, canned olives and cheese seemed processed. I will go back, but no thanks for this app. P.S. I think that was someone's banana they brought for a snack, hehe

A friend and I went for drinks. No one was in there. The wait staff was hanging out eating and drinking at the bar while we were in there. They were very loud and not respectful of guests. Not professional. Talking about personal lives. I am not impressed.

Each visit is more amazing than the last. Visited for Mother's Day, had the Shrimp n Grits with an Egg on top. Outstanding service and my breakfast was delightful.

Absolute love this place! The staff is amazing and the food is even better! We came for mother's day brunch and even though they were crazy busy, we still all thoroughly enjoyed our meals! 3 of us got the shrimp and grits and practically licked our plates clean! In my opinion, the shrimp and grits is by far the best item on the menu! 2 of us got the french toast and devoured it! Best french toast I think I've ever had! A few of us got bottomless mimosas and they have soooo many flavors of juice! Lache was our waitress and she was amazing and took great care of us! We will certainly be back because I cannot stop thinking about those shrimp and grits!

Nice atmosphere with some live music. That was the good part. Our meals were disappointing. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The 5 or 6 shrimp on my plate were the size of popcorn shrimp. Taste was ok but could have been much better and the grits were watery. Chicken pasta needed more sauce. Corn bread was very dry with no butter.

Food is amazing, and the atmosphere is great. Service is great especially with having owners that care and are present. Beautiful thing is they will alter things with no issues to appease the customers needs.

I went here for brunch with the family and I have nothing but positive things to say. The staff was incredibly friendly from the hostesses, wait staff, cooks, and owners. The food quality was amazing - highly recommend the Old Town Creole Omlette with hash browns as a side. The shrimp & grits was also very good - the shrimp was SO good we had to ask if they were locally sourcing their seafood (which they said they were). During brunch they offer $5 mimosas and $5 bloody Mary's as well - super yummy. The ambiance nice - enough decor to make the place appealing but nothing overwhelming. There is indoor & outdoor seating as well as private seating areas for larger parties. Absolutely loved our experience and will 110% be returning.

Food is typical bar food. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, sometimes you are ignored or wait staff has an attitude and tries to push you out the door.

Tried Bistro 55 first time. Wife got the Chicken sandwich and I got the Guacamole bacon burger. Both came with fries that were very good as fries go. i believe they were coated with something, crispy and hot. Both the Burger and The Chicken breast were "blackend" not grilled. This made a crust on the surface of the meat which was quite enjoyable. The bun was sour dough and the inner surface was grilled/toasted. I kinda with the outer was toasted but it was not. The bacon was thick cut applewood smoked and cooked perfect (crispy). Each sandwich had a thick slice of Gouda cheese that was melted nicely. Overall our meal was good. I cannot comment n any of the other menu items. I will say the ambiance of the restaurant is nice except the interior dining room was a little too bright. It was a nice evening, so we dined outside on the back patio.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The food, the staff and the atmosphere were all amazing!!! I have been here twice and both times were equally superb. The bloody Mary's were definitely one of the best I've ever had.

Love this place. Super accommodating owners and great wait staff ( shout out to Sherry). We have eaten here several times; the food is always delicious! Especially recommend fettuccine shrimp Alfredo and blackened red fish w crab (so good!!!). Great happy hour drink prices and on Friday notes there's sometimes a band. Indoor and outdoor seating. We have a Friday group of about 20 people who frequently go here and always enjoy ourselves. If you haven't tried it yet, you're missing out!

So there were some hiccups with service as we came in right with the after Church crowd. It happens. Most importantly the owner took accountability and honestly more than made it right. Now the important part, the food. I've eaten here twice, dinner and brunch. Both were fantastic, I mean really good. I had the redfish over grits and wow, it was so good. My wife had the Chicken fried Chicken and it was also really good. If you haven't, give this place a chance.

Visited Bostro 55 last night, first time customers. We were looking for a comfortable restaurant with entertainment and this fit the bill. Small two piece band very good! Food was 8/10 and we were totally enjoying ourselves until the very rude moon pie crew came in. I understand that the establishment needs the revenue but there is a way to handle it. My husband was bumped in his seat from behind twice while eating. Another couple took their food to go and a third couple left immediately. People hollering over the music, totally disrespectful to the band and the diners. Management could have handled this better. Really feel for the couple singing as we were unable to hear them after the rude "moon pies" came in. Learn some manners! Unfortunately we probably won't be back. (Bill $90.00)

Lunch here with my wife yesterday...had heard about it and wanted to try it. Possibly the worst meal that we have ever had in the Slidell area. $24 seafood platter consisted of one piece of some kind of fish, about 12 shrimp (previously frozen) mostly fries with no hush puppies; even though they were advertised on the menu item. The fish tasted old and about to go bad. Don't waste your time. Go to Southside or Phil's.

It was a hot mess. We had our Christmas lunch here on Dec 16. We arrived at noon. It started off ok but went downhill from there. There was another group who was already seated when we arrived. It was 1 hour, and 15 minutes and we weren't even served our salads. We were about to leave and just pay for drinks and the waitress said they were ready to serve. Mine and one of my cousins' orders were incorrect. Another two ordered fish and it was dry. We asked and were given a 20% discount. After we ate it took another 45 minutes to get our checks and they were also incorrect. To my surprise (not a good one) I had ask for something to replace the fries and the waitress said I could have a salad. There was an upcharge on the ticket. The meal was okay but we will not be back. To the manager: If you can only handle one group at a time a time don't book another one.
