Secret spots in Singapore that will surprise you - SilverKris

"Set within the Kranji countryside, this two‑hectare sanctuary combines a working farm, bistro and remodelled black‑and‑white colonial villas for farm‑stay experiences; the villas blend rustic carved wooden furniture and exposed beams with luxurious marble bathrooms and modern AV systems, while guests can wander herb gardens and fruit trees, join workshops, follow the Kranji Heritage Trail and dine on dishes made from freshly harvested ingredients at the on‑site bistro." - SilverKris

A hidden gem tucked away in the rural part of Singapore, away from the busy city life. Great ambience, amazing service - the staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and service was prompt. Nice outdoor seating, with plenty of room to run around! The ribeye hor fun is splendid - the steak compliments the wok hei hor fun. Salad is fresh, with dressing on the side instead - so you can decide how much dressing you want! The lamb rack is nicely done - we didn’t want fries with it, and the staff recommended to change our sides. A huge parking lot for those who drive. For cyclists on the popular Kranji/LCK route (like us!), it’s a perfect stop as you have lots of room to park your bikes! We’ll definitely come back again!

Pretty amazed by this Bistro. Tucked away in the most secluded place but once inside, the atmosphere is very welcoming. Staff are attentive and friendly. Food portion is good. Most importantly, all the dishes we ordered left a great impression. We had Grilled Ribeye Hor Fun, Traditional Fish & Chips and Grilled Rosemary Chicken with Mushroom Sauce as well as a mixed side dish nibbler. Although their operating hours may not be most ideal but the food and atmosphere will definitely bring us back there again.

A 10 min walk from Sungei Buloh's northern visitor centre, a perfect place to stop by for lunch after walking all morning. This is a hidden gem with an amazing fish and chips. The fish was fresh and a good size portion. The lunch special was a great deal, as it included a soup, drink and some ice cream as well (goat milk from the nearby farm, I believe). Though it's an outdoor venue, there are some fans which help to ventilate, so the heat isn't too oppressive. If only the bus service was not discontinued in this area! It's pretty hard to get around Sungei Buloh without a car, and getting Grab/Taxi isn't very easy either. At least we were able to rest comfortably at this restaurant until we finally managed to book a ride home. Thank you!

Had the chance to try the Fish and Chips and Nibble Platter at Bistro at Gardenasia — both dishes were excellent! 🤤 The ingredients tasted very fresh, and the portions were generous, especially the fish, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Nibble Platter (Prawn wasabi, calamari with tar tar sauce and popcorn chicken with salsa), they paired well with their own respective sauces! The bistro is surrounded by farmland, so the scenery adds a peaceful, countryside charm to the dining experience. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy hearty food away from the busy city. Highly recommended if you're looking for fresh food with a view! The service is great too! The staff are very knowledgeable about their menu and provide good recommendations.

Hidden gem alert! Visited this bistro tucked away in a remote area, but wow 😮 the views and vibes totally made the trip worth it. Super peaceful, with beautiful surroundings that made it perfect for a chill meal. The food and service were above average too, which was a nice bonus. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking to escape the city for a bit.

Love the rustic country side feel away from the city. Food is awesome, try the ribeye horfun. Great place for kids to run around.

Food was alright but the older filipino waitress taking our table was extremely dismissive and rude. We asked her for a straw and she just turned around, took the straws, and gave it to us without saying a word. Gave us our ice cream without a word as well, not explaining to us which ice cream was which (both were green). During payment, she mumbled a "thanks" under her breath without even looking at my direction. The extremely dismissive, bad attitude from her made our food at this bistro not sit well. We visited on Friday, 12 September, at about 12pm. Management should train their staff better. Just because there were barely any customers, does not mean the waiters can slack off (multiple were just chit chatting and lazing around) and give their customers bad attitude. Bad experience.

Too bad the food and service does not match with the atmosphere. Service is slow. All staff like to gather at 1 corner. Food was horrible. Over price. Not at all value for $$. Better food n service at Bollywood Farm further down the road.
