Bistro ML

Very nice high class restaurant. A little pricey, but it’s in a very nice prime location. In the evenings it opens as a real restaurant which is one Michelin star. We had breakfast and coffee and it was very quiet and pleasant. I think it gets quite busy in the afternoon and evenings. It has a very large outdoor seating area and pavilion, and the inside is immaculate, really beautiful. It also serves as a hotel with rooms above. Directly across the street from the amazing large church in Haarlem. Our server Killian was very friendly. The large building used to be the treasury where they printed money, and later they printed stamps, so it’s pretty impressive.

Good food, friendly staff. We tried the 'kroketten' and the mashed burger which were delicious.

Great location, nice atmosphere, good service, poor food and overpriced. They present themselves as a bistro and I get chips with a club sandwich? Good for their margin but bad for the (poor) quality they offer.

Wow! This place is incredible. 100% recommend as our favorite restaurant in Haarlem! Delicious food, great portions for the price, over-the-top friendly and helpful service, and quiet but warm ambience. This was the perfect place to spend our last night in Haarlem. The menu is small, but every dish we had on it was incredible! We had two gluten- and dairy-free members and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate with recommendations and substitutions as needed. They have gluten free bread and dishes that gear very well to their restricted diets. The waiting staff and kitchen take their work very seriously, doing their utmost to make the entire meal the best experience for their customers. A fantastic build up! Fantastic presentation especially the presentation of the steak tartare. The combination of eastern and western flavors was unmatched.

It's a great terrace to sit and enjoy the sun. You'll feel it in your wallet though. For a 20cl small bottle alcohol free sparkling wine Vinada, they dare to ask €12,50. We paid €7,50 at another terrace in the vicinity. Retail cost €3,59, which is a >3.5 mark up by ML. Add a small glass of IPA 22cl for €7 and it doesn't feel balanced anymore, even for such an A location.

We visited this restaurant for lunch, we had great food with a beautiful view of the cathedral. The burger, tartar and avocado bagel were very good! We had a table outside on a terrace but it's also very beautiful inside!

Service was slow, we ordered main dishes for 2 persons: one arrived quickly, the other after 35 minutes! On top of that, the chicken on the caesar salad was undercooked. Our table was also dirty and plants had dirty water. Not really what you would be expect from any place really, even more so from one that shares a Michelin star restaurant. Giving two stars because part of the service was friendly, and prices were given the context. Everything else was quite a disaster though and not up to expectations.
